    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Everything about this game is perfect, except the story. The story certainly gave reviewers a lot to write about, but apparently the author touched himself to tears, and just wants to rub it in our faces.

    We didn't play the first half, hunting Abby down, just to see the story ended suddenly upon seeing her face but couldn't do anything. We suffered though the whole second half, as Abby, just to play her side of the past 3 days, and get back to the scene when Ellie meets Abby, and we didn't buy this game so we can play as Abby to defeat Ellie. And we didn't play the last part, to hunt Abby again, just to let her go at the end.

    The author knows exactly what he should've done, but he does the opposite on purpose.
    He wants to make "whether to kill or forgive Abby" an ultimate question, like the one we faced at the first game, but failed humiliatingly due to it's his self movement instead of a mutual sharing and udnerstanding with players. He forced us to feel what he wants us to feel, instead of what we really feel.

    One of the most emotionally conflicting and powerful narratives I've ever played in my 30 years of life. Don't listen to the "0"-bombing trolls that have somehow "reviewed" it in the same day the game came out. Play it and have your own opinion.     Right off the bat I'm going to address the elephant in the room. The story is actually awful. You're forced in the first hour of the game to see one of the beloved main characters from the first game die to the villain (who's sexual orientation for me didn't matter but the way they were written did). The voice acting and motion capture was solid but that's the best I can do. You're then going to end the game poorly with not even killing the character the goal is to get revenge for. The game is full of plot whole also Gameplay is the same as the last game in the most par and I will not review it high for it. It is clunky sometimes in it's ai much like older games.     The story ruined the entire game, I mean, this story does not need all this nonsense, I feel disappointed, after all this waiting, for this ?? This game does not encourage you to complete the game, all this nonsense makes me hate the game more, this game has the potential to become one of the best games ever, but the story and ridiculous characters ruined everything

    Lived up to my expectations from the first game and I enjoyed every minute of the game play and story.
    I loved that you got to play both as Abby and Ellie, made the game ending much less predictable as I really cared for both of them in the end.
    Certainly A game for grown ups, especially those who are bored of predictable story lines. it's just a shame many kids don't get it.    … Expand

    It's another masterpiece from Naughty Dog! It's a fantastic story with a fantastic gameplay mechanics and graphics. It is a game that moves your emotions.

    I really enjoyed this game. The gameplay was alright but the story was pretty good in my opinion. I liked the characters. I also thought it really built on what happened in the first game. It is not as good as the first but still really good.

    This is not the game that I have been waiting for 7 years. And I sincerely do not understand why it is rated higher than the first part. Personally, I don’t care about the LGBT + agenda, but this game was created just for this purpose. Not for players like me who love the first part and look forward to continuing

    + best graphic on PS4 + great visuals, good sounds and music + good voice acting and cinematics + pretty good gameplay mechanics + very good pre-order editions and bonuses Cons: - really bad story - boring and unlikable characters - so many dead people, but you don’t care that they are dead - repetable Seattle locations - game itself is very long, it should be 15 hours max for this    Pros:

    This game is amazing. Great graphics, gameplay, and story. A lot of negative bot reviews on here and it shows by how many reviews there are.

    At first i was also not sure how to feel about the path the developers and writers took, and although it was a risky bet I think the story fullfilled its purpose as an excellent exercise in tolerance. wich tests the personal bias from the players. And in turn makes it clear how difficult it is to see the other side of the coin from time to time.     After playing, I understand why the critics were censored to only review the first half of the game. After that it takes a total $h!t. Poor writing and lack of a compelling story and character really hurt its potential. Visually, it's incredible. Everything else needs major improvement.

    this is the biggest GARBAGE I've ever seen. i could write an entire book about why this game is so garbage! but this **** is not even worth typing more than 191 letters here. THIS IS GARBAGE!

    The 3 is purely for graphics and the hard work done by the Devs (suffering crunch). The imagery is nice, pretty much like all games nowadays; however, the game is very poorly written/directed and bleak, unintentionally so. There'll be plenty of copies in CEX next week. Just replay the original.

    I think it's an excellent game! I have one or two points of criticism about moral questions in the story, which in my opinion, despite the underlining of the importance of these questions, are not sufficiently addressed. All in all I can say that I find this part better than the first one. Especially because of the much more complex story.

    Loved every twist and turn in the plot, Abby is also a great character I want to know more about. The AI of enemies and the graphics shine in the gameplay department

This is not the sequel most people have been waiting and hoping for (if any). The positives are only related to the visuals and the technicality of the game.. animations etc. The guys responsible for lighting, animations, voice acting etc all did a phenomenal job and deserve praise! BUT this is a very linear story driven game and what good does a story driven game do when the story is absolute garbage? the story feels like some forced fanfic that tries hard to seem deeper than it really is. I don't mind Joel getting killed, in fact I counted on it. But the way they did kill him and the way they force the player to control his killer Abby (a boring characters that constantly has the facial expression of someone taking a **** doesn't do this already boring, badly paced game any favor. To top it all off the game turns into this revenge plot where Ellie kills hundreds of people to get to Abby only to realize that "hey! killing is bad" when she gets the chance to kill Abby.
    I don't care about Ellie being lesbian or Joel being killed by a woman, it all comes down to how they handled it and how the story progresses. When a game is more like an interactive movie the story is what carries it, that's why this game sucks.    … Expand

Acabei de terminar e não tenho nem palavras para descrever as sensações que esse jogo me causou, sem dúvidas se tornou o meu jogo favorito, fiquei feliz de ter enxergado o jogo com a cabeça aberta e ter dado uma chance mesmo depois da morte do Joel, eu gostei bastante de jogar com a Abby, pro pessoal que não conseguiu ter empatia por ela provavelmente as quase 8 horas de game play com ela foi uma tortura, rs. Achei justo o final, a busca pela vingança nas duas partes so serviram para trazer sofrimento pra ambas.
    Acredito que possa ter sim a parte III, e se realmente tiver ja sabemos que nao vai ser bem aceita, mas eu torço para que tenha, aquela fala da abby no rádio indicava a ilha com uma construção em cupula, a imagem final do jogo é o barco dela atracado na praia e a construção ao fundo... cabe ai uma nova história, quem sabe com o encerramento achando a cura?
    Enfim foi uma experiência fantástica jogar.    … Expand

    If you loved the first game you probably aren’t gonna love this one. This is honestly one of the most disappointing games probably ever. It tries to do something bold and different with the story but in my opinion it’s just done very poorly and could have been done much better. But it seems to me maybe that’s what naughty dog was trying to accomplish idk? Other than that everything else about this game is top tier. I mean the graphics on this game are absolutely gorgeous. I mean maybe the best of this generation. The combat was amazing I mean you actually feel what’s going on in game it can get super intense, and it’s top tier combat. The music like the first game is just exceptional. Playing on a harder difficulty gives you a real challenge and also that realistic feel which I love. I’d recommend waiting to buy this game until it goes on sell because i think it’s going to be very hard to replay this game if you aren’t the biggest fan of the story. The combat and actual gameplay can only carry this game so much. Having a great story is crucial to a game like this. So I can’t justify a $60 purchase. I was torn between giving this game a 6 or 7 and I ultimately choose 7 because it does have some very satisfying gameplay and some serious intense gaming moments.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
