Completely undid the first game that was a massive success. Forced character narratives, very slow slog of a game. Characters act against their normal method of operation for stupid reasons to drive plot.

    Painful cringe experience.

There's some stuff in here that's never been in a video game before. It may not be able to be stomached by most.

Loved the graphics. Loved the little cameos, Joel the main character from the 1st game had. Loved the museum Part.
Apart from that This game is an absolute hot garbage ruining Everything we loved about the 1st game. And, the narcissism of the game director to make a character about him and even CARDS yikes!!!!
Ending the game on a simple "YEP". This is gonna be a nightmare to everyone

Terrible game. This is not what you expect from the continuation of the first game. Downgraded graphics. Boring storyline.

During your game, you are going to be very annoyed and your game is facing a lot of problems that there was no reason for such a thing to happen and the game could have formed a beautiful story and such things would not have happened. This game is aimed at your heart so that you can endure a lot of suffering and hate it at the end of the game. This game made me wait for seven years for it to end badly.
In this game, we see the death of people whose lives end really badly, and the story has a special dichotomy that doesn't allow us to continue the game the way we want it to, and it forces us to continue the game on a person who has no interest in anything. We don't have it and we can't find an understanding of that character during the game, and he has a low characterization that we can't compare that character one percent with the two favorite characters in this series.

i don't care about "propaganda" in this game. What really bothers me is boring and overall very bad story. If you only played the first game don't buy part 2 because it's likely going to disappoint you

Great graphics, beautifully crafted environments, solid gameplay like the first. But the story is just awful. What I know of the story ruins it. Everything and every one that was made good in the first game is completely destroyed in this one for a character that has little to do with anything really and is entirely unlikeable or relatable.

Insignificant story full of insignificant violence in an insignificant and stupid way with an insignificant ending.

The characters do not behave at all as in the previous part.

Whoever wrote this story must never played the first part.

Sad, really sad to spoil such a technically great game. Ratings are also unnecessarily high from the official websites.

The worst story ever, in any medium. The Room has a better plot than this. A betrayal to fans and the art of storytelling. It sadly casts a shadow on the game's technical marvels and makes you unable to enjoy them on their own.

Why I didn't just burn these 60$.......the story was just terrible. I don't care about the "agenda" or the LGBTQ characters. The story and characters are contrived. Especially Joel and Ellie did everything to fit into the games story, they didn't behave like they would in TLOU 1. I could have written more but I really am exhausted mentally after playing this game for 14 hours straight.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 2 is visually and graphically stunning. The gameplay is serviceable at best. However with a game like this, the story is the most important part to me. In The Last of Us 2 the story is a disaster and is completely disrespectful to its predecessor. The plot is riddled with plot holes and contrivance. The ending is extremely unsatisfying as it attempts to preach a message about revenge instead of giving the player what they want. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just Finished The Game So,
this game is like watching avengers endgame, but just imagine this..
thanos wiped-out 50% of all living creatures, and he murdered all the avengers in a very horrible way except for thor & thor was watching thanos when he killed all of his friends, so thor goes out for revenge kills everyone standing in his way & finally gets the chance to revenge, but changes his mind at the very last second for wtv reason..
    doesn't make any sense right?
    okay, let's just imagine this..
you play god of war 3, you play as kratos & the whole game is mainly about you trying to kill zeus, but after playing for hours killing gods & killing all these monsters just to reach zeus, & finally you reach him, you change your mind & you decide it's not worth it..
    this is some bs right?
they are trying so hard to justify what abby did and show you that she is not a bad person, so they force you to play as her to see her point of view to all of this.
imo.. making the vaccine should've been ellie's choice but since she was drugged, it was joel's choice, he is the one who traveled half across the country with her, he is the one who protected her & they bonded together, he was like a father to her.
it wasn't marlene's choice, and sure as hell it wasn't Jerry's *The doc* choice either so both of them can go die or wtv.
what he did was kinda justified because he was just protecting his "daughter" the only person who cares about in this world & when this doc tried to stop him, joel had no choice but to shoot him.
so joel is on the right side here not this stupid doc or his daughter.
on top of that, joel saved abby's life and she kills him anyways & at the ending if it wasn't for ellie, abby would have died there bec she was tied up, basically joel and ellie saved her abby's life TWICE like wtf
other things that i didn't like is..
almost none of these new characters had a backstory which is just stupid lol *except for abby ofc haha"
i don't like how they won't lot you choose or do anything, you just keep playing until you reach this stupid ending, like if it was up to me to choose i'd have stayed at the farm & that's almost good ending to me..
i also don't like how they edited the storyline idk that for sure but "Official Story Trailer" looked different from the final game so yeah..
i also think that naughty dog is one of the best studios out there, but i don't think i'm going to trust them or buy any games from this studio anymore until they kick "neil druckmann" out & i'm pretty much done with pre-ordering games.

my rating to this game would be

    Graphics 8/10
    Locations 5/10
    Story 1/10
    Characters 3/10
    Gameplay 9/10

this game takes about 25 hours to finish it, half of them are wasted because of "locked doors" and trying to find a way in, fighting infected, & trying to find materials, it can be really boring.

i just finished the game so i'm sorry for any grammar mistakes, english isn't my first langauge so yeah..
i'm still processing this stupid sad ending can't believe i've waited 4 years for this bs..

The first game wasn’t groundbreaking in its gameplay, we’ve all played that game before in tomb raider, uncharted or dying light... it was the story and the evolving relationship between Joel and Ellie that made an impact. This sequel pulls sharply away from anything that made the first game stand out.
In 30 years of gaming experience this is the biggest disappointment I can remember ever

Despite the forced political agenda, the writing and handling of the characters is laughable. Killing off one of the main characters from the first game in the first two hours without concrete justification is lazy writing. Neil will never listen to the negative reviews because he thinks to himself "These bigoted sandwiches just don't understand my game" Mainstream liberal games media will review this game with high praise but start to think for yourself. The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
