This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I liked it. The story is dark and twisted. If I wanted to relive what was in the first one, I would go and play TLOU.
I loved the gameplay. Sneaking around, better combat, more swimming, more hiding. Really great.
I liked two sides of story. I dont think you were suppose to like Abby cause you have to play as her. Its your choice if you gonna like her, or not. No one elses.
Yes, it was cruel what happened to Joel. But what he did while saving Ellie - we all knew its BAD. its to choose one person over all others. Joel and Tommy did some stuff before the game and we all know it too. They were no saints.
So, didnt you think someone would take revenge? Someone from family gonna just pass on that? Eye for an eye. Thats the whole story. Revenge. On both sides.

And for god's sake, if you complain about s*x scene with Abby, and her body type - I really suggest looking around that women come in ALL shapes. As a woman myself, I was pleased to see someone who is not the sexy body type, or skinny, but a woman, who works out and have muscles. ( If you think Im the same, no. I'm absolute opposite. )

Play the game. You don't like it? Fine.
    I loved it.
A little minus for some repetitive parts of games. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.
Ive read some people who wrote they own plot of the game...There is forum for that. Just cause you don't like that it's not happy ending story, does not mean game is bad.
And thank you Naught Dog, for including LGBTQ+ in the game.

This game doesn't need the bad reviews, even if it wasn't what you expected. People delayed this game just to make sure it was perfect for release, maybe it doesn't remind you of tlou cause the characters evolve, Ellie isnt just a kid anymore so what did you expect? Another father and daughter moment in a post apocalyptic world?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a game you have to play all the way through to really appreciate. Honestly about four or five times throughout the game I thought I was at the end and for the first few I thought, “ehhh decent story but not that great.” Then the story kept going. What it ended up being is a masterpiece, better than the original. This game forces you to play as Abby, the one who killed our beloved Joel. When it first switched to her I didn’t want to play with her. Was I wrong. She’s now my favorite character in the series. She has so much depth to her. The entire game uses this to show us there are two sides to every conflict and who is evil is merely due to where you’re standing. Abby overcomes her hate in some respects but can’t let go of it in others. It’s the most true example of human nature I’ve ever seen in a video game. The two games together could be studied over a semester in the same way we studied classic literature in high school and college. I can’t say enough good about this game. Don’t listen to the people who hate it. This is truly and honestly the best game I’ve ever played. I loved it so much in fact I created an account just to review it (never reviewed a game before).

The game is beautiful, gameplay faithful to the first game, the story spits in the face of the fans killing Joel in such a grotesque way, it was like he wasn't a main character, you know? But the game is really cool and I really liked it.

This game is a masterpiece in my opinion. I stayed away from all the spoilers and was better off for it. It's my view that most of the negative reviews I have seen are from people who didn't get their fanfiction realized in the story. You won't find better videogame craftsmanship than The Last of Us Part II

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This game is a masterpiece of storytelling, a masterpiece in the use of the video game format to force its players to feel empathy towards characters they would normally hate, to make choices they don't want characters they love to make. It's bleak and often a struggle to play (I really FELT that final fight sequence), but it's also full of hope and full of light moments between characters you love, and full of forgiveness and redemption. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is not for someone wanting a feel good, light-hearted fairy tale. It is by far the most gritty, no-punches-pulled survival horror I have played to date. There is an incredibly ominous, dark undertone to the theme, which is underscored by the brutal combat between multi-dimensional, well developed characters. The body count of those characters that the audience has come to know and love only helps to solidify this game as an absolute gold standard in story telling.

If you played the first game and you didn't think that Joel had a reckoning coming, you are severely naive. He was a most smart, dangerous, cunning protagonist. He and Ellie had more than a few close calls but every time got away because his purpose was to protect her. After slaughtering all the fireflies at St. Mary's, he tried to prevent his fate by coldly executing Marlene, but he didn't get away as clean as he had hoped.

Now, in part II, that reckoning and all the pain, anguish and fear that comes with it are unleashed on the audience. If you are angry that Joel died, it is because you cared about him and he was ripped away. That doesn't make this a bad story, it makes it the best story that can be told. One that actually makes you feel angry or sad or helpless. Then puts a goddamn gun in your hand and lets you hunt down those responsible, at tremendous cost.

If it is playing as Abby, the one who has the blood of Joel on her hands, that upsets you, then perhaps you are too short sighted to understand that she had every reason to beat him to death with an iron. He killed everyone she knew, including her father, and virtually damned the world to a fate where there will never be a solution to the cordyceps. Perhaps the most interesting perspective on this is to consider that would you have played as Abby first, and never known Joel, you would be on her side and despise him as the antagonist. Ultimately, Abby and Ellie are foils of eachother - Joel killed Abby's father and Abby killed Ellie's.

I loved this game and it has truly been worth the wait. The gameplay was the most fun experience I've had on the sticks in a long time with the addition of prone mechanics, excellent dodging and crafting weapon attachments being most notable. The story was sad, gut-wrenching, horrifying, and bittersweet. Anyone who does not consider this game an absolute masterclass should take a step back and remember that the point of a good story is to feel something and the excellent storytellers at Naughty Dog didn't settle for a feel good crowd pleaser.

With gameplay that is polished to perfection and a story that will make you laugh at one moment, then cover your face in horror at the next, I am confident this game will not be outdone for a very long time. Thanks Naughty Dog!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game was so intense, thrilling and a rollercoaster of emotions. The graphics, mechanics and the warfare was amazing. I can say 10/10 best game of 2020 so far. Nice job Naughty Dog, sorry for all the crybabies rating the game so bad.
What I can grab from the story is revenge after revenge, a never ending cycle, Joels actions shaped the entire West Coast, making people split. What's so hard to understand?
We see communites and people trying to rebuild the world, everyone cries about the story not being Apocalyptic, but if the game was only zombies they'd cry about that too.
Most of these bad ratings are people who bandwagonned on the hate train or just hate the fact that ellie is gay and Abby is more masculine and fit than them.
The ratings will only go up from here.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is an absolute masterpiece. I found the story to be deeply powerful, and while it may look like the majority of people don't like it I guarantee you that they're just a very vocal minority. As I get older I've been finding it much harder to get really into a game, but this one had me right from the start. The visuals are incredible, the game play is engaging and intense, sounds design is best in class, and while some may find the story and its ending to be upsetting I found it to be very natural and realistic. I mean who actually thinks you can have a happy ending in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, especially after all the traumatic experiences these characters have gone through? Anything else would have felt forced and out of place. Go out and get this game!! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just finished the game today, i love tf outta this game im literally sad asf that its done, the game put me on an emotional roller coaster...the people who hate this game are hating on it because of the LGBT stuff goin in the game, like its 2020 man grow tf up deal with it, this game is one of the best if not the best story tellers I’ve ever played, playing the intro had me like why tf would abby kill joel but as you transition over to abby’s life it makes you understand on why she did what she did it was overall smart of naughtydogg to basically put the famous quote(there’s two sides to every story) in perspective with this game, at first i hate abby for joel but as i played with her I honestly can say that Abby/Ellie are literally the same person, i grew to like abby more as a character honest to say,,think about it joel kills abbys father & out of retaliation abby kill joel, ellie kills abby’s friends & vice versa abby kills hers so it reality joel started everything..note*abby spared ellie twice!! I was so glad abby didn’t die in the end nor ellie cause if abby wouldve died the revenge cycle wouldve just continued..I have so many unanswered quesions!! They need to add a DLC OR Sumn Cause Whew im in distraught over here Expand

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
