    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Everything about this game is perfect, except the story. The story certainly gave reviewers a lot to write about, but apparently the author touched himself to tears, and just wants to rub it in our faces.

    We didn't play the first half, hunting Abby down, just to see the story ended suddenly upon seeing her face but couldn't do anything. We suffered though the whole second half, as Abby, just to play her side of the past 3 days, and get back to the scene when Ellie meets Abby, and we didn't buy this game so we can play as Abby to defeat Ellie. And we didn't play the last part, to hunt Abby again, just to let her go at the end.

    The author knows exactly what he should've done, but he does the opposite on purpose.
    He wants to make "whether to kill or forgive Abby" an ultimate question, like the one we faced at the first game, but failed humiliatingly due to it's his self movement instead of a mutual sharing and udnerstanding with players. He forced us to feel what he wants us to feel, instead of what we really feel.

Don't listen to the "0"-bombing trolls that have somehow "reviewed" it in the same day the game came out. Play it and have your own opinion. Even if you don't like the story's direction, you'd be hard-pressed to not at least appreciate the boldness of it (not saying that should excusesOne of the most emotionally conflicting and powerful narratives I've ever played in my 30 years of life.     Right off the bat I'm going to address the elephant in the room. The story is actually awful. You're forced in the first hour of the game to see one of the beloved main characters from the first game die to the villain (who's sexual orientation for me didn't matter but the way they were written did). The game is full of plot whole also Gameplay is the same as the last game in the most par and I will not review it high for it. It is clunky sometimes in it's ai much like older games.     The story ruined the entire game, I mean, this story does not need all this nonsense, I feel disappointed, after all this waiting, for this ?? This game does not encourage you to complete the game, all this nonsense makes me hate the game more, this game has the potential to become one of the best games ever, but the story and ridiculous characters ruined everything

    Lived up to my expectations from the first game and I enjoyed every minute of the game play and story.
    I loved that you got to play both as Abby and Ellie, made the game ending much less predictable as I really cared for both of them in the end.
    Certainly A game for grown ups, especially those who are bored of predictable story lines. it's just a shame many kids don't get it.    … Expand

    I really enjoyed this game. The gameplay was alright but the story was pretty good in my opinion. I liked the characters. I also thought it really built on what happened in the first game. It is not as good as the first but still really good.

    This is not the game that I have been waiting for 7 years. And I sincerely do not understand why it is rated higher than the first part. Personally, I don’t care about the LGBT + agenda, but this game was created just for this purpose. Not for players like me who love the first part and look forward to continuing

    At first i was also not sure how to feel about the path the developers and writers took, and although it was a risky bet I think the story fullfilled its purpose as an excellent exercise in tolerance. wich tests the personal bias from the players. And in turn makes it clear how difficult it is to see the other side of the coin from time to time.     After playing, I understand why the critics were censored to only review the first half of the game. After that it takes a total $h!t. Poor writing and lack of a compelling story and character really hurt its potential. Visually, it's incredible. Everything else needs major improvement.

    The 3 is purely for graphics and the hard work done by the Devs (suffering crunch). The imagery is nice, pretty much like all games nowadays; however, the game is very poorly written/directed and bleak, unintentionally so. There'll be plenty of copies in CEX next week. Just replay the original.

    I think it's an excellent game! I have one or two points of criticism about moral questions in the story, which in my opinion, despite the underlining of the importance of these questions, are not sufficiently addressed. All in all I can say that I find this part better than the first one. Especially because of the much more complex story.

    Loved every twist and turn in the plot, Abby is also a great character I want to know more about. The AI of enemies and the graphics shine in the gameplay department

This is not the sequel most people have been waiting and hoping for (if any). The positives are only related to the visuals and the technicality of the game.. animations etc. The guys responsible for lighting, animations, voice acting etc all did a phenomenal job and deserve praise! BUT this is a very linear story driven game and what good does a story driven game do when the story is absolute garbage? the story feels like some forced fanfic that tries hard to seem deeper than it really is. I don't mind Joel getting killed, in fact I counted on it. But the way they did kill him and the way they force the player to control his killer Abby (a boring characters that constantly has the facial expression of someone taking a **** doesn't do this already boring, badly paced game any favor. To top it all off the game turns into this revenge plot where Ellie kills hundreds of people to get to Abby only to realize that "hey! killing is bad" when she gets the chance to kill Abby.
    I don't care about Ellie being lesbian or Joel being killed by a woman, it all comes down to how they handled it and how the story progresses. When a game is more like an interactive movie the story is what carries it, that's why this game sucks.    … Expand

Acabei de terminar e não tenho nem palavras para descrever as sensações que esse jogo me causou, sem dúvidas se tornou o meu jogo favorito, fiquei feliz de ter enxergado o jogo com a cabeça aberta e ter dado uma chance mesmo depois da morte do Joel, eu gostei bastante de jogar com a Abby, pro pessoal que não conseguiu ter empatia por ela provavelmente as quase 8 horas de game play com ela foi uma tortura, rs. Achei justo o final, a busca pela vingança nas duas partes so serviram para trazer sofrimento pra ambas.
    Acredito que possa ter sim a parte III, e se realmente tiver ja sabemos que nao vai ser bem aceita, mas eu torço para que tenha, aquela fala da abby no rádio indicava a ilha com uma construção em cupula, a imagem final do jogo é o barco dela atracado na praia e a construção ao fundo... cabe ai uma nova história, quem sabe com o encerramento achando a cura?

    If you loved the first game you probably aren’t gonna love this one. This is honestly one of the most disappointing games probably ever. It tries to do something bold and different with the story but in my opinion it’s just done very poorly and could have been done much better. I mean maybe the best of this generation. The combat was amazing I mean you actually feel what’s going on in game it can get super intense, and it’s top tier combat. The music like the first game is just exceptional. Playing on a harder difficulty gives you a real challenge and also that realistic feel which I love. I’d recommend waiting to buy this game until it goes on sell because i think it’s going to be very hard to replay this game if you aren’t the biggest fan of the story. The combat and actual gameplay can only carry this game so much. Having a great story is crucial to a game like this. So I can’t justify a $60 purchase. I was torn between giving this game a 6 or 7 and I ultimately choose 7 because it does have some very satisfying gameplay and some serious intense gaming moments.… Expand

Podemos ir desde la bella, sensible y minimalista narrativa de ICO hasta la emotiva redención de Arthur Morgan en Red Dead Redemption 2. Juegos que de alguna u otra forma nos han tocado el corazón, pero si hablamos de todo esto no podemos dejar de lado a The Last of Us, el cual nos cautivó de igual forma por su maravillosa historia y personajes, pero ahora con su secuela recién estrenada, llegan las reflexiones, por una parte, sobre la dualidad, el ying y el yang, el bien y el mal, lo blanco y lo negro ¿realmente eso existe? Y por otra parte sobre las consecuencias inevitables. The Last of Us Parte II llego para poner en la mesa estos dos pensamientos, y no solo me refiero en la historia que se nos cuenta, sino también en el producto propio. ¿Pero por qué digo esto? ¿Realmente The Last of Us Parte II fue una decepción? O ¿Logra lo mismo que su primera parte?

    The Last of Us Parte II se arriesga y tiene la ambición de contar una historia desgarradora y con momentos muy fuertes, que te hará sentir una catarata de emociones, como muy pocos juegos lo hacen, trata temas muy importantes en la actualidad y sigue teniendo cosas muy bien construidas, cosas que son de elogiar. Pero peca de tener una mala estructura de guion y varios personajes mal desarrollados. Eso sumado a unas muy cuestionables decisiones de dirección narrativa hacen en su conjunto una historia polémica y ambiciosa, pero con fallos en la ejecución, que la dejan por debajo de lo contado en The Last of Us Parte I

    The Last of Us Parte II es el videojuego con mejores gráficas y diseño artístico que hay actualmente en el medio, Todo aspecto tiene un detalle obsesivo por la perfección y logran de una manera impecable hacer una experiencia inmersiva, cruda y muy real.

    El aspecto sonoro es otro punto en donde se muestra la enorme calidad del estudio Naughty Dog y de todas las personas involucradas.

    The Last of Us Parte II es un juego ambicioso que busca reflejar las emociones mas bellas y oscuras del ser humano, con una historia fuerte, arriesgada y con un buen mensaje pero que en el proceso peca de varios fallos flagrantes que llegan a afectar al impacto de la misma. Aun así, también nos regala una obra técnica de otro nivel, plagado de miles de detalles estéticos, sonoros y jugables. Un gameplay que mejora y expande lo mostrado en su primera parte, que logra mantenerte envuelto en su mundo crudo y violento. Un juego muy bueno, imperfecto y poco ortodoxo que busca llegar a sitios aun no explorados en el medio, eso es The Last of Us Parte II    … Expand

Visuals, gameplay, soundtrack, acting and even storyline. Haters are just too attached to a character. We all know he had it coming. Joel is not a hero nor a villain. The way he died and for it to happen almost at the beginning of the game is what triggered the hate most. And then you have to play Abby. It’s a post apocalyptic world. People react based on the circumstances and it doesn’t make them an evil person as whole. It’s not always black and white. I love it. Even the situation of Ellie eventually being alone at the end. Heartbreakingly beautiful. But still, the first game was **** epic which is like the best game ever so it’s a 10 for me. So I’m giving part II a 9.5 just because Joel and Ellie forever.… Expand

    The story is enjoyable, and while I absolutely hated Abby and hated playing as her, playing her made sense in the grand scheme of thing, which was: You pay a big price for revenge and can get lost in hate.

    The biggest problem Last of Us 2 has are:

    1) It is not as good as Last of Us 1. With Last of Us 1, they set the bar very high, and last of us 2 needed to at least meet that, but it didn't
    2) Questionable character decision: Joel told us not to trust any stranger in the first Last of Us. Joel knew not to just outright invite them or follow them into the cabin, and yet he did. Why? Because it was the easiest way of writing it. I didn't feel that was Joel making this decision, but rather someone deciding for him, what gets the job done the quickest and the job was to get Ellie on her path to revenge.

    If there was no Last of Us 1, this would have gotten a better score from me, but knowing the characters, I don't think they made the choices they should have made based on the previous game.

    Dina, in my opinion is the best character out of all of them. She is the one making the most sensible choices, the one that fit her the most. Maybe because I never knew her before the first one, but I also didn't know Abby.

    This game would have been better as a standalone game, and not as a continuation of the first Last of Us.    … Expand

They disrespected one of my favourite characters of last Gen, and literally spit on his corpse. Not only that, but the way that to his death was badly written, like everything conspired so that Abby would be attacked by clickers and Saved by Joel, and she had no idea that it was him who killed her father, and just like that, Joel and his brother end up on the camp of Abby's clan and trust them (even though they have years of experience and know that there bandits and merciless people out there) and are like hi my name is Joel Miller... That's just ridiculous, cartoon level of writing.
    Now the ending, my god the ending, Joel dies like 2hours in, so you spend all the journey with Ellie, killing everyone on your way to get to Abby and take revenge, and guess what, REVENGE BAD, she fights her, drwons her, then get a flash back of Joel playing guitar, and then let her go? Like what? What?! You're telling me that the guy who sacrificed the world for you, died because of this decision, and you killed everyone to get to the killer and avenge him, then decide nah, not worth it...
    I'm seriously speechless, if you've noticed I haven't talked about anything LGBT or Agenda pushing **** I have no problem with them, my problem with the game goes beyond that, I love old Bioware games, and they already had gay characters, so nothing new.
    And talking about nothing new, well, the gameplay hasn't evolved that much, jump button, sprint jump, dodge? I mean it's the same TLOU1 experience expanded in some open areas. I would rather recommend you buy Days Gone you can get it for cheap, has good gameplay and sandbox, and is also a zombie apocalypse game.    … Expand

If u sacrifice the plot for forcing hidden agenda u doesn't respect ur fans, if but sexual agenda to accuse any negative review to be Homophobic u use the agenda to mute the critics voice, this game ruined every good aspect in the prequel, even the gameplay they convert it into boring reptitve shooting! the characters are too bad we lost thier respect becuase of some new things they call it character but it can't be , they should respect the name of the game the fan base the time of the event u can't put a transgender character in the apocalyptic world where are no hospitals no surgeons, everyone aren't so sure to be alive tomorrow, just to force ur agenda on the whole world in this game it's a wierd disrespcting thing… Expand

Ок, игра не шедевр, но говном её назвать я точно не могу, геймплей с первой части кардинально не изменился, есть приятные добавления по типу уворота, но мы занимаемся тем же, что и в первой части, графика и отношение догов к деталям меня поразило, но основной объект споров - это сюжет. Он, откровенно говоря, странный, первая половина за Элли восхитительна, но потом приходит Эбби. И нет, к ней претензии не потому что АНА УБИЛА ДЖОИЛА АХ АНА ТВАРЬ!!! Я не мог ей сопереживать, с её отцом мы были знакомы от силы 10 минут, ну спас он зебру, молодец. Но его смерть не вызвала абсолютно никаких эмоций. Также я не понял с какой кстати Эбби помогала двум азиатам из вражеской группировки. Она убивала серафитов пачками, а тут ей жизнь спасли, и она сразу же четверть игры помогает им, а потом тупо предает свою группировку, своих друзей и знакомых. Вопрос, почему же она тогда Джоела убила, если он спас ей жизнь в начале игры? Я не хочу срать Эбби за убийство Джоела, так как у неё полно других проблем. Дальше, азиат-трансгендер, тип у нас постапокалипсис, откуда у тебя время на определения своего пола, когда тебе надо думать как не сдохнуть от зомбаков и как найти пропитание? Финал игры, во-первых, они превратили Элли в мудачку, которая бросила Дину с ребёнком ради мести, а потом пройдя огромное расстояние она отпустила Эбби, после чего она осталась без Дины, без мести, без возможности даже сыграть на гитаре. Сначала я поносил эту концовку, но потом переосмыслил её и понял, что она не настолько ужасна. Я понял, что стоит ценить своих близких, пока они у тебя есть, потому что они могут резко захотеть поиграть в гольф с подругами, а потом пропасть. В игре также были крайне драйвовые и эпичные сцены (сцена в горящей деревне, битва с чупокаброй ебучей в больнице.) и когда я играл, меня не отпускали эти моменты и я хотел играть ещё и еще. Но, очень часто мне играть было скучно, особенно, за Эбби, так как её сюжет - это просто филлер без какого либо развития. It looks nice, and plays well, but after the halfway mark i started losing interest, and the ending was extremely unfulfilling. With a bit of a rewrite, i think this could have been a better game, but as it stands, its pretty weak.     Getting us to play with Abby, after she killed Joel, is the biggest mistake. Obviously I didn't create any empathy. No matter the time spended with her, all I wanted was revenge !
    I understand that the whole construction of the story depends on demonstrating Ellie and Abby's revenge motivations and his affects, but play with Abby ? After she killed Joel !? Not for me.
    We have a lot of life history with Joel and Ellie, a few hours playing with Abby will never hit the same felling. Considering too that Joel's choices have always been fair, makes Abby's revenge pointless and hard to deal.

    And this guides to the second big mistake: Joel's death. It would never happen from that way.
    Tommy and Joel have been pass for a lot of problems, problems enough to comes to a point that they would never say their real names to strangers, especially in the circumstance that they said, surrounded only by strangers. I think Joel wouldn't say his name in that situation even if Abby had saved him instead of him saved her previously. I am okay if joel have died, but the way he died disregards who joel is.

    The Last of Us didn't need a sequel and the second part was everything we didn't want. Doing what they did was disrespectful to the story itself and the fans.    … Expand

    The Last of Us part II is a dark drama-adventure tale like no other. The hate this game is receiving is unfair and is coming only from a bunch of kids who wanted fan service, happy endings and super heroes. It’s a game for adults and only adults can comprehend the message Naughty Dog wants to convey. A must play for all true gamers.

    One of the best games ever made, a roller coaster of feelings and technically flawless! Haters gonna hate, 99% of them not even played, most of the players who played it, loved it! A real masterpiece, for me this is the second best game i've played in my life, just getting behind Red Dead Redemption 2...

I found the humanising of the antagonist an interesting exploration and did enjoy parts of it and some of the friends, but very few of them. I found though that it just went too far, and where it helped, say Thanos feel realised and purposeful, but still a villain, it sort of robbed TLOU of a true villain. The everyone does bad things for the right reasons theme was not lost on me, but still felt purposeless in the context of the 2 games narrative as a whole. It's like they took a straight right angle in the narrative and just decided to tell a completely different story, instead of a part 2 of the original.    … Expand

Marketing of this game and early reviews of the game push the narrative you'll be playing the characters you loved from the original, it is not the case, basically one of the key characters from first game is basically murdered for the sake of murdering him early in and you then get to play the character that murder for the majority of this trash. There is nothing to love about the new characters, nothing attractive or sticky to make you enjoy play the game, it is basically all about pointless violence for no reason.

    So writing is basically lazy, uninspired, and seems to play to the twitter rosenspires and not really to the anyone that is actually a fan of the original game but basically an audience that actually doesn't even play games but love to complain about them.

    Basically this game is a waste of time, you're never going to get those hours back and tbh you'd be better off grabbing any other game and playing that.

    Finally, there is a massive double standard with some of the content that Sony have allowed to be in the game in comparison to other titles on PS4.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
