Yes it might have a few narrative flaws. but no game is perfect and if you actually pay some attention and realise what the characters are doing and how they are acting you'll understand that its not your story to tell its theirs, there are not as nearly as many plot holes as people say because they just dont pay attention to the game.. The things this game tries to show you like emotions forgiveness revenge hatred anger and many many more alongside with gameplay and graphics are amazing.… Expand

    This game is not for everyone as you can see online, but for me everything about it just clicked and it moved me in a way I haven’t felt since the original game and maybe 2018’s red dead redemption 2, this in my opinion is now naughty dogs masterpiece and it will be very hard too top in my opinion

    The Last of us part II is current gaming at its highpoint! Best game in years! No idea why some people don't like it... The story pulled me in from start to end. The storyline is perfectly balanced and pulls your emotions in all directions. The writers and developers did a brilliant job ... creativity and art at its best.     I am not sure if this review would ever be read by any one . This is the one of the best game I've played , I know it can't be compared to any other game of this generation but still it had better story than Witcher and God of War , it had one of the best story not only for a video game but for a book or a movie, And when it combines with the best form of interactive art you get aI am not sure if this review would ever be read by any one .     Never played it. I’m just trying to increase the unjustifiably low user score. People only dislike this game cause there’s LGBTQ+ representation, even though the LGBTQ+ community is awesome.

    I feel a little confused when the reviews of a game don't mentioned one of the most important parts of a video game or any modern visual media.

    Music can change the experience completely and express how the the characters feel upon there actions and in the last of us 2 the job is made marvelously, leads the story forward giving and extra dimension, it marks the identity of the game at the level of must iconic movies soundtracks.

    Leaving the story aside, i play a total of 28 hours to complete the game, this includes the amount of time i spend looting and searching every corner for the alcohol i need it to stop having the health bar in red, if you came in to the game blindfolded without any idea of the most polemic parts of it, let me tell you something, you will received, this game its cruel, for the protagonist and the player, there are a lot of little details in the game-play that foreshadows the events in the future, and a story at the level of an HBO series( ironic because they will make one based on the last of us), one last point before spoilers, the gameplay gives 180 turn if you take a more aggressive approach

    A strong followup of a classic. It matches the original in tone, story, and play. The game is a tad more visceral in its violence, but that matches the direction of the story. Much more than the original the story is complex and questions the characters actions, and the players response to them.
    This game is a playable adventure, not a choose your own adventure.

I think in gaming today there are a number of games that allow the player to impact the story, and choose a direction; however that is not what this game (or the first) is. This is designed to be played as a character in a story. You sometimes find yourself agreeing and disagreeing with the actions of the characters, and you should.    … Expand

    The game is a masterpiece. While I don't agree with the direction of the story Naughty Dog took, game as a whole truly hit every check box from characters, dialog, graphics, level designs, and very detail environments. I definitely recommended anyone to play this game.

    Superó al primero en jugabilidad y en gráficos. La historia no es tan buena como el primer juego pero no deja de ser una muy buena historia y terminó por gustarme casi tanto como el primero.

    Best game I have played so far. TLOU2 is truly worthy of being a sequel of TLOU, really good story from both sides of Ellie and Abby, excellent scenarios and gameplay. You can empathize with the character's feelings and it really hurts when you play as Abby fighting Ellie and Ellie fighting Abby. Don't listen to haters, play the game and make your own opinion!!!

However, saying it is a political statement and it did not match the trail is stupid. Obviously they aren't going to tell you Joel dies that's makes no sense, but if you couldn't figure that out for yourself then i worry for you. But like i said, it's just an opinion, everyone has one. If we all just calmed down and stop taking everything seriously that would be fantastic. And that goes for everything.

    That being said, I really enjoyed and it is a shame how much hate it got but at the end of the day it doesn't really mater. The game play was fun and that's really the only thing that matters, because if there is no game play then it's a movie. Anyway have a good day friends and remember you only live once, so lets try and enjoy life yeah?    … Expand

TLOUII finally tells a different, diverse story. Play this game with an open mind. You will be rewarded with an emotional ride that might leave you on the verge of tears, as it did me. Finally, I appreciate very much that in this post-apocalyptic world the most vicious, gruesome and violent acts are not committed by the infected but - as is true for the world we live in now - by human beings.     The Story was not what I was expecting, but after letting all sink in and putting my feelings aside I've come to love the direction that Naughty Dog took. Sometimes you have to look at things from a different perspective and be open to new experiences - how boring would this medium be if every developer stuck to the same story tropes or only looked to please fans.     Absolute technical marvel, a masterclass in deep, emotional story telling, and excellent game play.
    The Last of Us Part 2 kept me engaged from start to finish in a way that few recently released games have been able to achieve.

    Story of the The last of us part II was so strong and difficult to digest, and as Neil Druckmann said this game is about hate, the story had the best ending. The game environment was very natural and alive.

Vyprávění je systematické, přesto jedno dohrání většinou nestačí k objevení všech detailů příběhu a pochopení postav, které hra nabízí.     In my opinion, The Last of Us 2 is a great video game and a masterpiece of storytelling, it really takes the narrative power of gaming to a new level. The Last of Us 2 is easily one of the best looking game and the actors have done some incredible work. This game is more ambitious narratively than anything else I've played. Congratulation to Naughty Dog, great job.

    Last of us!. When i finished first many times, i always interest since 2016, what happened to Joel and Ellie. First game was a extremly awesome that i bought ps4 for playing Last of us. I will not hate last of us never, but it is true Neil Druckman is not a good writer (i wish he has to stop write something :D) And Last of us 2. when i opened the game my heart and my feelings gettingLast of us!.     I’m going to try and keep this review as objective as possible. I think how people view this game will be very different. I think the first thing to know about this game is that it has the capacity to be great, and to be horrible. I was a huge fan of the first game, and *full disclosure I am also socially leaning conservative based on the current American scale of politics. I think the first thing to know about this game is that it has the capacity to be great, and to be horrible. I was a huge fan of the first game, and *full disclosure I am also socially leaning conservative based on the current American scale of politics. So I didn’t care for that much of the themes of social justice embedded in the game. To me, these things were easy to look past. All it really is trying to say is to treat people like human beings and that’s a fair thing to ask. I think if you look past the political things, the Last of Us Part II is a hugely emotionally compelling game. If you think about it, a game that generates so much love and hate wouldn’t be at least somewhat interesting if it didn’t have something to love or to hate. The Last of Us Part I left me in tears because of the intricate and masterful presentation of the relationship between Joel and Ellie. Part II to me strives on something different. It thrives on a journey of solace, portrays a path of blindness. If you are confused about that statement, I would compare the journey of this game to the story in Dante’s “The Divine Comedy.” It’s just filled more with emotion. I was forced by the games narrative to do things I didn’t want to do, which worked on me but might not have with others, but is nonetheless a predisposition you must acquire before confronted with the ending. A good video game to me is like a good book. It’s something that strikes a little bit different every time you visit it. It would constantly lure you in short moments of longing and emotions. For this one, it is an overwhelming sense of loneliness. And if you take the time to play the game and look in its details, just as you take the time to look at the language and syntax used in a good book, there are moments of joy, horror, chaos, tranquility for you to enjoy. The Last of Us Part II ended for me the same way a powerful movie did: it made me reflect on the journey and my own life.

    If you ask me why people hate it, it’s because of the plot. There are certain things such as the sequencing of the narrative and plot points people detested, understandably. I would say that to play this game with the right mentality requires you to think outside of the game for a second about why the developers and writers chose that path. I know it’s not your job to do that as a player, but if you do, the reward would be much greater than the anger you might receive when you don’t. There were things in the first game that made me feel uncomfortable too, such as *spoiler the death of Tess *end spoiler. But that was nothing compared to the shock things in this game caused people, and I think for many the shock is just the straw that broke the camels back which is funny because there really wasn’t many straws as far as I could tell due to the high expectations for this game. Perhaps because The Last of Us Part I was such an unexpected masterpiece that without expectations people enjoyed it immensely, but this new game didn’t surpass the expectation set up by the first game by all that much. If you’ve played the first game, then you’d know this already, don’t go into the game with expectations, especially expectations for an happy ending. Ultimately, is the game worth your money. I’d say yes. If you liked it then you’d probably say in hindsight that you’d pay $120 for the game if they set it there. If you didn’t, then at least you’d get a certain satisfaction of complaining about it in the forums. But I’d say if you play it the right way with minimal expectations, you will get a decent amount guaranteed out of it.

    The mentality I referred to can be understood as what George R.R. Martin said in terms of what fantasy has the capacity to do. For those of you who are not GOT fans, don’t worry, this is just a general quote.

    “We read fantasy to find the colors again, I think. To taste strong spices and hear the songs the sirens sang. There is something old and true that speaks to something deep within us, to the child who dreamt that one day he would hunt the forests of the night, and feast beneath the hollow hills, and find a love to last forever something south of Oz and north of Shangri-La.

    They can keep their heaven. When I die, I’d sooner go to middle earth.”

    Works of fantasy only works if the reader or player holds nothing back and just go along with the experience. When people approach it with a critic’s eye, they’d lose sight on the magic of fantasy. Go your own path, live your own life, draw your own conclusions.

    Here is one last quote I pulled from “The Divine Comedy.” You’d find it hits a bit differently once you finish your journey the same way I did.

    It's not surprising that in today's political environment, this game has been so divisive. This is not the game's fault; it is ours. As I see it, the criticism of this game breaks down into two factors. 1) It's plot choices; 2) a single character: Abby.

    Not liking some of the plot choices is perhaps the most honest critique one can make about this game, although still unwarranted IMO. I've heard arguments about Joel's fate being out-of-character, and that the "real" Joel would never allow what happened to take place. These arguments overlook the fact that this is not the same Joel from the first game. Years have passed, and Joel has regained something he thought was lost forever. Something to protect, and a reason to make the world a better place. At this point in his life, it's clear that he's reconciled much of his baggage from the first game and has invested in building a future for himself and those he loves. His choices, and how he approaches life in general, are of course going to change. I've also heard some strange critique about how unreasonable and unrealistic it is that finding a vaccine for the game's underlying world threat (the cordyceps infection) would require a human sacrifice, and how anyone who would allow for said sacrifice is irredeemable. This is wrong. 1) This isn't a virus; it's a parasitic fungal infection, so there's no reason to believe finding a vaccine would work the same way as our real world. The game establishes why securing a sample to develop a vaccine would be fatal. 2) This is a fictional story involving a post-apocalyptic future where humans are struggling to survive against fungal zombies. We're meant to suspend our disbelief.

    The second line of criticism is the most troubling to me. Some people just hate Abby, and especially hate that this game attempts to make the player empathize with her. They also hate the so-called "wokeness" of her character and in general the game, by it addressing some LGBTQ issues during her part of the story. Putting this criticism into context, I think it's clear that those who have a problem with Abby are two things: 1) Unwilling to see the world as anything other than black and white, us vs them. 2) Resentful that this fantasy world they want to escape into doesn't reflect the world they actually want... namely one in which LGBTQ people and the challenges they contend with everyday do not exist, men are "purely" men and women are "purely" women. They leave no room for a spectrum of gender roles or identities. They hate Abby's muscles, they ridicule the game's story for merely including gender issues (which aren't even relevant to the overarching themes of the story), and they roll their eyes at Dina and Ellie's burgeoning relationship. None of these inclusions are forced into this story, and happen as naturally as they do in real life. But these particular critics just simply do not want these values in their games, and I can't help but feel like ultimately the reason for this is because they do not want them in their real life. It's sad, but also unsurprising.

    In the end, the reason to love this game is precisely because of how it balances a make-believe world with the very real human relationships and complications we face in the actual one. It will go down as a historic contribution to the medium.    … Expand

However, I feel almost as if those who boycott the game missed the point. We are all insignificant at the end of the day, and that is why Joel’s death hurt so much. Because we got to know him so intimately, his death hurt so much more. His end was not fitting, but in the world of TLOU, I don’t think anyone realistically expects their death to be that way. Death is both monumental and trivial in this world and this juxtaposition makes for some incredibly moving moments. This was a heart wrenching, haunting, and painfully real narrative that is ultimately more concerned with forgiveness than revenge. It is a visually stunning, emotionally engaging, and brilliantly written work of art.… Expand

    Graphical, gameplay and story is simply a masterpiece! The new mechanics are a breath of fresh air. The gameplay is so smooth with a steady framerate. The game is definitely one of the best looking ps4 games ever and such a joy to play.

It’s all about the cycle of violence and it’s consequential side to it. Hayatımda ilk kez bir oyunun sonunda ağladım. 2 bin film, yüzlerce oyun ve diziden sonra ana akım bir işin beni artık şaşırtamayacağını düşünürken bu oyun beni hem çok etkiledi hem de şaşırttı. Neresinden başlasam, hangi anını anlatsam bilemiyorum gerçekten.

    Joel'in ölümü hem hikaye unsuru hem de yönetmenlik açısından çok etkileyiciydi. İlk oyunda yönettiğimiz karakterin, ikinci oyunun başında öldürmek çok cesurca. Sırf bu yüzden çok tepki çektiler ama bence yerinde bir karar olmuş. Birbirinin aynısı Hollywood senaryosu yazan korkaklara ders olsun.

    Ellie ile intikam yeminleri edip, duvarları yumrukladıktan sonra oyun bizi açık dünyaya bıraktığında dandik keşif işleriyle uğraşacağız ve odağımız kaybolacak diye korkmuştum ama sadece o bölüme özelmiş. Ellie ilerlerken herkesi tek tek ve acımasızca öldürürken, kendi kişiliği de büyük ölçüde değişti. Ellie o ana kadar yüzlerce kişi öldürmüş olsa da bir cani ya da işkenceci değil, sadece hayatta kalmaya çalışan birisi, en olsa asker. Bu işkenceleri yapmak onu mahvetti ve hamile Mel'i öldürmenin yarattığı şok etkisiyle artık bu işten vazgeçmişti. Bu esnada oyun, o ana kadar öldürme yeminleri ettiğimiz kişinin hikayesini anlatmaya ve onu oynatmaya başladı bize. Joel'u öldürme nedenini, duygularını, yaşadıklarını, Skar'lara olan yaklaşımındaki değişmeyi, arkadaşlarıyla olan yakın ve inişli çıkışlı ilişkiyi, Joel intikamından sonra arkadaşlarının kendisine bakışındaki değişimi gördük. Ve sevdik. Ellie'nin hikayesi intikam ise, Abby'ninki de kendini affetme, omzundaki yükü atma ve vicdan öyküsüdür. Ama nihayetinde ikisininki de affetme ve yoluna devam etme hakkındadır. İntikam için yola çıktığınızda, göze aldığınız ve sizin karakterinizi aşsa da ahlaken dayanabileceğinizi düşündüğünüz şeyler, tahmin ettiğinizden de çok sizi etkileyebilir ve çöküntüye yol açabilir. İşte Abby'nin Ellie'yi, en sonda da Ellie'nin Abby'yi affedişlerinin altında karşıdakine duyulan sempatiden çok, bu fiilin kendilerinde açacağı yarayı kaldıramayacaklarını düşünmeleri yatıyor. Bence kaldıramazlardı da. Abby Ellie'yi bıraktıktan ve bizimkiler çiftliğe yerleştikten sonra oyun final yapmış gibiydi. Ben bu finalden razıydım ama biraz sönük kalmıştı. Sonra tekrar Abby'nin peşine düştüğümüzde onu köle tacirlerinden kurtardığımızda gerçekten Abby'ye acıdım. Öyle bitap düşmüştü ki intikam almak istediğiniz birisi gibi durmuyordu, ondan nefret edemiyor, ancak acıyabiliyordunuz. Sonrasında Ellie tekrar saldırdığında, hem görsel hem de duygusal açıdan bir oyunda oynadığım en etkileyici final dövüşlerinden birisi oldu. Ellie, Abby'yi bıraktığında da oyun beni bu sona ikna etti. Çünkü oyunun süresi bu tarz bir oyuna göre o kadar uzundu ki karakterlerin yorgunluğunu oyuncu olarak biz de hissettik. Zaten bir eserdeki en önemli şey olanlara sizi ikna etmesidir. Ben bu oyundan bu açıdan tümüyle razıyım.

    Karakter animasyonlarının gerçekçiliği, her bir kasın oynamasının görünmesi, yüz mimiklerinin netliği harikaydı. Yakın dövüşün tokluğu devam ediyor. Gizli öldürürken fışkıran kan, boyun kırarken kurbanın direnirkenki yüz ifadesi çok tatmin edici.

    Mekan tasarımları, konsept çizimler, bölüm dizaynları yine harika.

    Ses tasarımı en iyisi. Ölürken can çekişen düşmanın feryat figan bağırması, boynundan vurulanın çıkardığı köpürcüklü ses çok tatmin edici.

    Grupta son kalan düşmanın yenildiğinde diz çöküp af dilemesi ama buna rağmen onu vahşice öldürmemiz büyük haz veriyordu.

    Oyunda en etkilendiğim sahnelerden birisi ise Abby ile Lev'in köyünden kaçarken cüsseli bir adamla yaptığımız, onun suratını bıçakla yardığımız ve sonra ağzını yüzünü parçaladığımız yakın dövüş. Her anı muhteşem etkileyiciydi.

    İlk oyundaki büyük eksiklerden birisi olan boss savaşı bu oyunda bir kaç tane var. İki tane Ellie vs Abby savaşı çok iyiydi. Abby ile hastane garajında savaştığımız, bir kaç insanın birleşiminden oluşan boss hem görünüş hem de zorluk açısından büyük keyif veriyordu.

    Abby'nin yükseklik korkusu olmasına rağmen ilaç için gökdelenler arasında geçiş yaptığı sahnenin verdiği his, orada geçen diyaloglar, karaktere daha da bağlanmamıza neden oldu.

    Oyunun bence tek eksisi, uzun oynanış süresinde bir yerden sonra çer çöp toplamak, onlar için her köşe bucağa bakmak sıkıcı bir hale geliyor. Benim bıkkınlığıma, ilk oyunu buna başlamadan 4 gün önce bitirmiş olmam da neden olmuş olabilir.

    Neticede ikonik birçok anı ve oynanıştaki tatmin ediciliği nedeniyle oynadığım en iyi oyun oldu diyebilirim.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. es muy importante entender esto ¨no eres especial¨ es lo que trasmite todo el juego, joel muere por que a pesar de ser el protagonista del primer juego no es especial, ningun personaje lo es; miremos un contrapunto, la muerte de tess ,ella se despide , es glorificada , en cambio joel muere de una forma tan sucia, en el suelo , sin moverse y delante de ellie.
    este juego viene a deconstruir el anterior, a demostrar que nuestra vision de la historia no es tan perfecta como creemos, el hecho de jugar con abby es una inflexion en la historia , nos hacen odiarla, querer su muerte a toda costa , sin importar quien se ponga en medio, matando a cualquiera para conseguirlo. abby ve como sus amigos y seres queridos murieron a manos de ellie y la misma rabia que sentimos las primeras 12 hs de gameplay se apodera de ella ,la pelea en el teatro es muy ¨extraña¨ , son sensaciones encontradas, creo que el juego completo se puede describir con ¨sensaciones encontradas¨ , al momento de peliar contra ellie , ya sabes la vision de las dos y sabes lo que paso cada una , la asiedad que genera esa pelea es indescriptible.
    abby le perdona la vida a dina y a ellie, ella comprende que vengarse no era la soluciones que eso no llevaria a nada.
    el ultimo acto del juego es de lo que menos me gusto, tuve siempre ese sentimiento de que habia que poner un cierre pero se estaba tardando, fue hasta la segunda vez que lo jugue cuando me di cuenta del mensaje de ese momento, ellie esta dejando todo atras, esta tomando una desicion muy egoista;como joel en el final del primer juego, esta dejando su familiay su granja para cumplir con su venganza, en cuanto a abby senti esperanza cuando por fin encontro la base de los luciernagas , obvio que eso fue efimero hasta que la capturan donde perdi toda vision de futuro.
    antes de llegar al final quiero hacer incapie que todo el conflicto en santa barbara me parecio demaciado forzado , me gusto la inclusion de un nuevo grupo, pero hay tan poca informacion en tan poco tiempo que siento que no era la mejor opcion.
    la pelea final remarca mi primer punto , ellie se da cuenta que no es especial, que su venganza no la va hacer sentir satisfecha y su odio seguira , ellie esta en ventaja, se encontro con una abby destrozada , siendo una mujer que casi no se puede mantener en pie, una mujer que no quiere peliar.
    ellie sigue teniendo el recuerdo de joel y quiere venganza, en la pelea pierde su navaja y mas importante sus dedos. en el momento que tuve que apretar el cuadrado paa ahogar a abby no podia hacerlo , me sentia culpable, sabia la historia de abby y sabia todo lo que sufrio , no merecia morir asi ,ellie entiende que esa muerte va a ser un nombre mas en una lista intachable de gente que asesino, abby vive y ellie queda sola en la pllaya.
    el final del juego es deprimente pero a la vez nostalgico , ellie entra en una casa vacia, perido a dina , perdio a jj, ella perdio su navaja el unnico recuero de su madre, e intenta tocar la guitarra pero al no tener los dedos es imposible , perdio la unica forma de recordar a joel.

    the last of us part 2 es un juegaso a nivel estetico , en fisicas e historia
    entiendo por que es tan criticado , la gente se cego con el cariño que le tenian a joel y por el odio hacia abby, esohizo que muchos simplemente juegen la campania de abby para terminar el juego y no para disfrutarlo ,simplemente creo que no se enfocaron en lo importante.
    creo que mas alla de toda la critica este es un juegaso y me alegra que la industria apueste por juegos como estos que demuestran que la industria del gaming es mucho mas que simples juegos.    … Expand

    Amazing game, haters gonna hate. Already played through it 4 times since it's launch this year. My favorite console game of the decade for sure and one of best games of all time. You dickheads that got on the review bomb bandwagon before the game even came out are the worst.

    Didn’t like how they handled Ellie’s character, making her moody and boring. And why the hell is Lev in this game? Such tagged on virtue signaling. Other than that I liked it kinda.

    A beautifully written game with deep and touching story. I did watch my daughter playing it for hours. I knew all the spoilers, when I started myself. Yet I still ended up in tears on the end. Yes, I was one of those, who stopped pressing square on the end, as every single press was breaking my heart into pieces.
    Thank you Naughty Dog. You have created a true art!

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
