    This Game ist just a rolercoaster with your feelings. But thats allright. NaughtyDog just made a very diffrent ART of Game. Play it through, maybe you'll understand what i mean. When not, then thats just not a game for you, or you're just not emotionally prepared for this. Maybe play it a secound time to understand this game. Give this game a fair chance.     The game is very immersive, for many people it can contain difficult subjects to understand, however if you are open-minded and without social prejudice, it undoubtedly gets a lot out of it and leaves you with that lump in your throat that is already typical in Nughty Dog. It is a masterpiece.

    Wow. Absolutely phenomenal. Amazing storytelling, faultless visuals and atmosphere and some of the most addictive gameplay I’ve come across. One of the very best games ever made.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I thought the story was awesome and playing different characters with opposite perspectives was really powerful. By the end I was hoping for the opposite conclusion than in the beginning. I started to find some of the gameplay a bit repetitive and not much difficulty in solving puzzles but overall still very enjoyable. What I really enjoyed in the original game was the multiplayer and it's really a tlou2 factions that I want to come out. I'll be back to tlou1 factions in the meantime.… Expand

    This game came into my life at a very powerful time. To say this game is a masterpiece, for me, would be an understatement. I hold Ellie so close to my heart after completing the game I feel as if she is a real person. I was with this character through all her hurt and pain and, in a brief moment, joy. This game, in my opinion, showed how dangerous a revenge story can play out. I wantThis game came into my life at a very powerful time. To say this game is a masterpiece, for me, would be an understatement. I hold Ellie so close to my heart after completing the game I feel as if she is a real person. I was with this character through all her hurt and pain and, in a brief moment, joy. This game, in my opinion, showed how dangerous a revenge story can play out. I want Ellie to find peace within her self. I love this game. It was an emotional experience, one that I have never experienced in any other medium let alone a video game. My hope is that if they make another installment that it will continue down the mental anguish road that Ellie is going through and find, in the end, peace. Some might not like the story but I appreciated how it was created to show how we handle revenge and how it’s up to us to stop the cycle.     This video game is a masterpiece. I can’t imagine I could love the antagonist of the game so much. Fantastic storytelling. I just want to thank Sony interactive entertainment, Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, and all the people who has a part in creating this masterpiece. I just want to thank Every Last One Of Them.

For me it is an incredibly game, the gameplay and the graphics are incredible, in my opinion I think that it is not receiving due recognition just for not pleasing everyone, the message of the game is clear: revenge will never bring you something good, you can lose everything even life, the simple fact that they killed joel has become a target of negative criticism when that gives you a lesson: every action has a consequence and sooner or later it will come to you, it also seems incredibly ridiculous that they are offended by the LGBTQ + theme as if they forgot that in TLOU 1 Ellie kissed her friend,stop being childish and immature, they enjoy the game!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you don't end up moved, truly hurt by this story, you haven't played it the way you should have. Every person that end up hating the game, saying it ruined the legacy of the last of us, makes it even more logical that this game is a pure success. The level of storytelling here is above anything ever done before. ND went all the way, without a flinch. They knew the user reviews will be divided. ND made it that way, by going through this hurtful story, you end up learning that Joel, our beloved Joel and all the **** up **** he did in his past, he had to pay for it. The payment is salty af, but Joel knew it. He lived as long as he could with his burden and remorse, even if as he said, " if somehow, the lord gave me a second chance, I'll do it all over again." The love he carried and still carry for his "adopted" daughter, Ellie, is the reason why he did all these things to the fireflies, we all know that, for those of us who've played the last of us. But we had never seen all the damage Joel made by saving Ellie. In TLOU part 2, we get to see all the damages it did to the fireflies and how it destroyed the hope they had to make a cure and save humanity. Joel and his selfish choice doomed us. But because in the last of us, we're playing Joel, we don't get mad at this. we're some sort like "well **** the world, Ellie prevails on everyone!". In some way, we all end up acting as jerks against our own humanity. And the last of us part 2 slaps that reality into our face after 7 years of waiting, of being okay with that selfish choice. 7 years of preparation to put us back in our place and to teach us that life isn't fancy even in a game, that our actions always have consequences and we all have personal responsibilities for them.
    The magnificent overlay of Abby and Ellie's time line in Seattle creates a deep realism, as we flow and end up fighting against Ellie, as being Abby. As a game of the mouse and the cat. except we're playing both hunter.
    ND went deeply into characters story realism and into Ellie's trauma, providing us some of the best representation of a feeling, the loss.
    The whole game play is articulated around the loss, the wound that it left, the denial and the anger then the acceptance, letting go all the pain, to be left with a void to be filled. All this, not clearly showed, but it is all this story is about. Acceptance of the loss, and getting over the trauma. We all lost a loved one, Joel was a pillar to us, and his death as some of you though, was like a bus hitting us right in the face.
    To avenge Joel, Ellie lost everything. She lost and best friend, Jesse, she lost her love, Dina and JJ, and she lost the ability to play guitar, a skill she learned through Joel, a bond she lost the moment Abby bite her fingers. But the last picture from the window with the moth carved in the guitar and Ellie walking away in the background, without looking back, is a blurry way to show us she keeps on going. Everything that happened, is over now. We'll see what's next in a maybe part 3.    … Expand

    This game, this interactive movie, is blood-sweat-and-tears. It is a complete game. No dlc needed but I wouldn't complain if there was. The graphics are beautiful. The acting, the expressions, the drama. I have not played a game this good. That's why 10/10.

    We all wanted a happy ending ofcourse, but that would be too boring.. I've got to admit that I completely enjoyed it, mainly because it was nothing like I imagined it to be, it was not predictable at all.

    The hate over Abby is rediculous, she had her family and friends murdered just as much as Ellie, and if anyone has a issue with her image, clearly lives in the past, hench women are all over social media so get over it. I hated Joel's death so so much, and still hate it, but hats of to the developers for pulling such stunt which caused this beautiful chaos!

    Overall, the game has been an emotional ride, anger, happiness, revenge, forgiveness and overall movie quality suspense.. Absolutely loved it. Well done naughty dog!!    … Expand

    I actually loved this game. The graphics are incredible and the gameplay is smooth. Besides this, I did actually enjoy the story. Though definitely darker than the first part, it deals with issues like trauma in a strong way. Playing as Abby also left quite an impact as it showed how a different perspective can make something that seemed black and white become a lot more complicated.

    The most mature game i've ever played. This is an art, so much emotions invested in storytelling, and i love all of it. Even so many negative reviews is just a mark of how much people was involved. This is a not just game that you can play to got some positive feelings, but a movie or something, that can give you different emotions, but in the end you'll be happy to take such ride.

Where Ellie and Joel talk and Ellie says that she would like to try to forgive him for making her life not mean something. This is why she spears Abby she is trying to forgive her for torturing Joel.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just a little ending explanation this game is a 10/10 this is a review in in of itself The hatred that Ellie feels for Abby is an externalized reflection of the hatred Ellie harbors for herself.
    Why? Well Joel deeply hurt both Abby and Ellie in different ways and they both punished him for it.
    Ellie hates Abby for torturing Joel to death, especially because she didn't get a chance to restore her relationship with Joel (but also I mean, obviously Abby killed the man she came to see as her father). This is a mirror to the fact that in a way, Ellie also tortured Joel. she did it for years in a different way, and I'd say in a way that was more painful for Joel. And that was by disconnecting from him.
    She hates herself for torturing him like that and not restoring their relationship when there was still time. That's the real pain she has been trying to avoid facing during this entire revenge quest, she's like a drug addict using revenge to avoid dealing with those painful feelings of regret. This is the realization she has while she is drowning Abby when she has the flashback to the scene on the porch with Joel and chooses to spare Abby. She's not just forgiving Abby,
    she's really most importantly forgiving herself and finally coming to terms with what happened between her and Joel.
    I think her leaving his guitar to rest in the house and walking away is supposed to symbolically represent that she has forgiven Joel, made peace with what happened between them and is finally ready to move on and start a new life.
    I hated the end at first but after much deliberation I think it's actually really poetic. People saying the game is just about "revenge is bad" I think have really missed the point. And the end isn’t “stupid”, imo.    … Expand

Il n'est peut être pas parfait, mais je lui met la note maximale, parce que je sais que son histoire, ces choix pris par le studio, le message qu'ils ont voulu envoyer, m'a marqué poue des années et des années, j'ai aimé être bousculé, déstabliser.. surpris. Et pour moi ces choix sont parfaits compte tenu du thème du jeu. le fait de nous imposer de jouer l'antagoniste et de voir les raisons pour lesquelles elle a agit ainsi est brillant. comment comprendre le concept de cycle de vengeance, sans montrer les deux cotés ? le jeu est très bien écrit contrairement a ce que certains disent. ces personnes se cachent derrière l,expression "Bad Writing" car il ne supportent pas qu'on les force a voir ou a comprendre les motivation de Abby ..et même en leur montrant que sa vengence est tout aussi légitime que celle de Ellie ... ils la refusent. c'est un manque de maturité assez hallucinant. Ils faudrait grandir un peu.. c'est tellement plus facile de détester quelqu'un que de comprendre le pourquoi de leurs actions.... ces gens sont ridicules. concernant les graphismes c'est le jeu le plus detaillé que j'ai jamais vu, c'est dingue, le Gameplay est certes pas révolutionnaire, mais il est très solide et plutot jouissif, bande son exceptionelle. bref pour moi cest du 10… Expand

    While some will say the ending is disappointing, I have to disagree. I agreed at first, but after contemplation, the ending made total sense. This game requires a great deal of emotional maturity to properly understand, or else the core meaning is lost entirely. Everything about this game is beautiful and I cannot recommend it enough.

    Fascinating game, a wild ride of emotion all the ay through. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Not often do I play a game that I think about after playing it. Regardless of what people may say or spoil about the game this is a game you have to play yourself. Definitely a next level experience. A must play before we play the next gen consoles

    It’s like 10 craziest Korean art house movies fused in one. ND disrupted the standard frame of player’s experience and made you feel so bad, but this is the best point.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all the original TLOU is my favorite game ever. TLOU2 has better gameplay, better visuals, and the atmosphere and music is equal. Now onto story. Anyone who's bringing up politics is an idiot. The main character is gay, there is a trans character, its not shoved down your throat, it doesn't impact the story in any way negatively. If their existence makes you upset maybe it's time to grow up. Secondly yes the death of Joel sucks, I resented Abby from the second it happened and HATED that I had to play as the character who killed him. That's LITERALLY the point. It's to show that revenge EVEN when justified can make anyone look evil, Abby had every right to do what she did. Didn't make it easier to swallow, didn't make it ok, I still loved Joel and didn't want him to die.

    Now regarding the "plot holes" that aren't plot holes at all really

    "Abby could have told Ellie why she did what she did and it'd make it all better!" No it wouldn't. Ellie knew fairly quickly, it didn't change anything. She never disputes that Abby was justified in what she did. Doesn't make it hurt any less or make her okay with it. The rage Ellie feels isnt something that's going to subside with logic. Abby let her live TWICE even after she killed literally all of her friends and Ellie still couldn't let it go. No explanation of any sort would change that and Abby didn't want an explanation, remorse or an apology from Joel, she wanted him to die painfully and slowly and she did everything she could to make that a reality. "Ellie did all that and just decides violence isn't the answer!" No... Its showing that revenge doesn't fix anything. Abby got her revenge, she still suffered nightmares, was still miserable, the only thing that changed that is finding a purpose in life she resonates with (protecting Lev (her people)). Ellie realizes killing Abby changes nothing, it doesnt bring Joel back, it wouldnt even make her feel better, living with the loss of everyone you loved is much worse than dying and shed ultimately be killing a child, completing a vicious cycle of hate, accomplishes nothing except being a wheel of pain, when youre on top youre crushing those at the bottom but it'll all roll around eventually. "The game should be linear, Abbys killing of Joel was just for shock value and. Not earned" again not the case whatsoever. The way they did it was great. I wanted revenge, I started as Ellie and I killed EVERY SINGLE WLF I could find, I wanted them to suffer. Then I got stuck as Abby, playing with these characters I hated and wanted dead, and after spending time with them, learning their motivations and who they are as people makes it clear they're just people, just like Ellie and Joel, they're flawed, they're not just evil antagonists, i came to like Owen, Manny, Nora and of course Alice, I didn't hesitate for a second playing as Ellie to kill every single one of these characters, a couple hours later, knowing their impending demise and seeing these characters not as ruthless killing machines but loyal friends with people they love and care about and I'm empathetic and even regretful in the case of Owen, Nora and Alice. No Abby never becomes likable but honestly Ellie isn't likable either and the quirks that made her endearing as a kid are just annoying as an adult. A likable protagonist in a game like this is near impossible to do. I love Joel but he's not a good person either and has done A LOT of bad things.

    No one in this game gets a happy ending and that's how it should be. The story isn't perfect, but it's still by far the best story of this console generation. Honestly anyone who reviewed this game on release date with a 0/10 should be ignored as there's no possible way that they played through the entire game andeven in their own reviews they make it quite clear the game isn't a 0/10 they just don't like the story. decisions. It's beyond stupid to review bomb this game. This game deserves to be talked about as one of the best of all time and the oy thing keeping it from being my favorite over the original is the lack of multiplayer which kept me playing the original long after the story was complete.    … Expand

I do not like certain things in life but have learned to accept them. I don’t agree with certain things in the LGBQT community but that doesn’t mean they are bad people. I absolutely loved the first game. Replayed it more times than I can count. When I first found out that Ellie was a lesbian I was a little apprehensive but I love that character regardless. I loved playing as Joel and his story and character arc. I am upset what happens to Joel but the overall story and how it plays out is tremendous in my opinion. This ranks in the top 5 for me and my tastes in gaming. Some might think that my tastes are terrible then. That’s your opinion and you are entitled to that.     Still getting over the emotional rollercoaster. I loved every second of it. You just need to see past you own interest and start seeing the game for what it wants to convey. Awesome job. The fact that people got so mad made this perfectly clear. The only problem was that they were overestimating the emotional intelligence of the average male.

    Tudo que tenho a dizer é que o jogo é sensacional , Joel mesmo tendo morrido fez bem seu papel e ele não era imortal infelizmente , fiquei sentido pela morte dele claro mas paciência , o que dá pra dizer sobre a história é que "cada vilão é o herói de sua própria história !!!!

The combat was fresh and expansive compared to the first game, the storytelling was unique and kept me going, and overall, a great package of a game. I still love the first game, but for different reasons. This game is a lot darker than the first one. Still great, try playing it for yourself instead of just regurgitating talking points online.

Story. The Story. Yea. Maneater`s story vs The last of us 2 Story. Both have a female lead, both have a revenge plot, but 1 game needed 7 years and the first part as advertisement, while the other one came pretty much out of nowhere and does everything better, story wise, for less money. Tlou2 makes you play for over 10 hours as Abby, the female with an unrealistic body (she is supposed to have trained during 4 years in the apocalypse with low quality food, and i was thinking these devs know a bit biology after the first game, hence the nickname "Shehulk"). The "romance" is no romance and just a disappointing side plot, the cast gets killed without any grace or even a funeral. Its a "walk around and fight 4-5 enemys every 20 minutes" game with unlikable characters. Ellie however seems to simply get a stroke at the end of the game, making every death in the entire game pointless, but they all where already pointless, since Abby has a split personality, since she claims to NOT brutally murder those who SAVED HER LIVE. If you dont care about anything or dont understand what continuity is, like the writers, this game will be good for you.

    This game pissed people of big time, duo to false advertising and now, the manipulation of the review score. Weird that multiple thousands of reviews came in, after naughtydog had some conversations with people. This game is not bad by any means, but it doesnt deserve to be tlou2, since it didnt ad anything to the world and only took precious things, like the will to live for Ellie, i guess.    … Expand

    This game can amaze you with a deep plot, incredibly interesting and improved gameplay, which was in the first part, unexpected plot twists, etc.
    There are few games with such a good plot that you can take apart for a very long time and find small important details both in the game mechanics itself and in the plot. I love the second part, as well as the first 10/10

Because if an outbreak like that happened, people would die, a lot of us would do anything to survive, some people would join groups, others would join cults, everyone has a reason to fight for, and if some stranger showed up outta nowhere and killed your friend/family member, or just someone you really cared about, you’d want revenge as Ellie did. I know I would. But you have to understand, your actions will have consequences and that is what this game is about. They all make different decisions and according to those decisions it’s how all characters end. Side note, people is hating on the game because of the trailer. Because Ellie and Dina are basically a couple. Bro it’s 2020, it’s fine if you don’t like that but at least respect it and don’t talk sh*t bout a great game because it has LGBTQ+ references. Basically that’s my review, if you’re reading this, thank you. If you wanna get the game but ain’t sure about it yet.. have you played the first one? If you haven’t then I highly suggest you get the first game first, play it as long as you want and then get the second game. Pay attention to everything, each character’s story, their decisions, do your best to find notes, artifacts etc, and oh, also play the Left Behind DLC so you can understand more about Ellie. I’m on my second playthrough of TLOU2 on moderate+ because I really wanna get the platinum trophy. Once I do, I’m gonna do a 3rd playthrough on survivor+ mode. (Hardest difficulty) and just focus on the story, no artifacts and stuff. I’ll just focus on surviving and let’s see how it goes. I can’t go without mentioning that Gustavo is a master with that guitar. Soundtrack is a maesterpiece. We don’t have an iconic theme song like on the first one, every song on the second one is basically based on the themes song. But every single song makes you feel the game even more, that’s why on my last playthrough I’ll play with headphones. I’m very excited to do so. To me, the game, is a 10/10. Not the ending I wanted BUT the one everyone “deserved” according to their actions. Also keep in mind game is about forgiving and what could happen if you don’t forgive people around you and take bad actions. Shoutout to all the people involved in the making of this game. Tlou and TLOU2 will forever be, my favorite games. Also if Cascina reads this (obviously won’t but shhh) you’re gorgeous as f*ck. If someday you decide to get married outta nowhere or you just wanna travel and make memories with some random guy, I’m the one you’re looking for. LOL. I’m out. Endure and Survive.

Es increíble el tiempo que estuve esperando este juego, sin pensarlo, me había encariñado con cada uno de sus personajes en la primera entrega. Una vez llegado el día, en la primera hora de juego muere Joel y con ello mi esperanza de que sea un juego cómo la primera en el cual podemos observar un equipo y relación de padre e hija. Sin embargo cumplió el objetivo de motivarme a buscar venganza y se podría decir que no me importó el tiempo de recorrido y lo largo que fue el viaje. Yo quería vengar y asesinar a cada uno del equipo de Abby.
    Abby sin duda fue de mi total desprecio al comienzo del juego, e incluso podría decir que me quería negar a jugar con ella. Sin embargo, considero que ella es el péndulo entre odiar y amar el juego; pues la finalidad de jugar con ella es que veas “la otra cara de la moneda” y sí, en mi caso funcionó de maravilla. Sin duda no puedes juzgar a una persona por sus acciones o su carácter sin haber conocido su historia, de donde proviene, etc. A la vez es de vital importancia recordar que la historia se contextualiza en un mundo post apocalíptico, aquí no hay buenos ni malos, es una historia con personajes egoístas que buscan su supervivencia de día a día.
    Finalmente puedo decir que la historia me conmovió, me hizo dudar en el final si realmente quería ver morir a Abby y sinceramente estoy satisfecho tanto con los gráficos, la jugabilidad, la banda sonora y LA HISTORIA.    … Expand
