Pois bem, 1 minuto depois de o jogo saír, dia 19/06/2020 já existiam centenas de pessoas que estavam a dar pontuação 0 ao jogo sem sequer o ter jogado. Ninguém de boa fé, já não digo que termine o jogo mas que pelo menos jogue umas horas não dá pontuação abaixo de 7 a este jogo. Quanto à minha avaliação, eu que Platinei o jogo na PS4 digo que é uma fantástica continuação do primeiro. Uma segunda obra prima que nos é oferecida pelo melhor estúdio de vídeojogos, a Naughty Dog. Gameplay irrepreensível, boa estória e graficamente incrível. Compra Obrigatória!     Don’t listen to the haters review bombing the **** out of a game they never even played. TLOU2 is in a league of its own and has set the bar for the industry. Yes, there are minor gripes to be had, but they’re wholly inconsequential in comparison to how well this game shines.

    This is hands down the best game I have ever played. The story is incredibly deep, disturbing and even depressing at times, but never feels far fetched, unrealistic or exaggerated.
    It shows in a brutally honest way that all actions have consequences. Well done, naughty dog. You created a masterpiece!

    The game is gorgeous, the acting is phenomenal, and the story challenged me more than any other video game has. This isn't a happy game, though there are moments. There aren't heroes, there's no Hollywood ending, but man is it horribly, heart-wrenchingly human.

    I loved this game. i waited patiently for this game because the first one was one of my favorite games of the last decade. I wasn't let down in the least. It is the perfect end to Joel and Ellie's stories. If you haven't played yet, ignore all spoilers and just take the game in.
    It's also the most amazing looking and sounding game ever created.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved the start, the precedent it sets, the world building of Jackson, Ellie's character, the characters around her... everything. The the switch to Abby, the mysterious but impending realization that they're after Joel and then finally the murder of Joel. Let me tell you something, no other game has made me feel so bad/sad/angry at the same time. Then when Ellie sets out for revenge and all the Ellie part is awesome. At that point the game was 20/10 for me. Then the Abby part i felt was a bit drawn out. I loved the story of Abby, but as a character she is the most hated. I've never hated someone so much in my entire life. The thing about this game is that it sets you in a parallel. Both Ellie's and Abby's path are parallel. It's just how it changes from person to person is what matters. The most amazing thing was that, in my 10 years of gaming, playing God of War, RDR 2, Horizon, Uncharted Series, Spider-Man etc, none of them could muster up SO much EMOTION that it felt like I was the one committing that said act. When Ellie is choking out Abby at the end right? it felt like my hands (I) was choking out Abby, and at that point I wanted Ellie to stop. I wanted her to not become what she set out to hunt. And she stopped. I'm going to be honest at 90 % of the game I felt like it was an 6/10 or 7/10 , but at that moment, the mere FACT, that I felt like it was me that was choking out Abby, that it was my hands that were committing that act, that's when it became 10/10 for me. I think that if they would've pulled off this game in any another way, ANY other way, I wouldn't have felt that in the end.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part 2 is a masterpeice. in terms of gameplay, mechanics, artistic design and narrative this is obvious. I understand the hate towards story decisions, but they are expertly constructed and all feel right for the world, and for the characters.

    This is an extremely good game. The plot is amazing,

    Although I don't like the girl girl stuff.....and the arm is somehow too strong for a girl....,
    but I know what it is trying to do, and it makes me think a lot of how this world work.

    Идеальная игра не считая нескольких небольших недочётов среди которых нераскрытые персонажи второго плана и.... всё. В остальном игра прекрасна, а те кто ставит 0, как мне кажется, просто не могут прийти к тому куда ведёт тебя игра и просто отказались от всего происходящего либо после пролога либо после середины игры. Сюжет по-настоящему очень сильный и ни в одном массовом произведении(неИдеальная игра не считая нескольких небольших недочётов среди которых нераскрытые персонажи второго плана и.... всё. В остальном игра прекрасна, а те кто ставит 0, как мне кажется, просто не могут прийти к тому куда ведёт тебя игра и просто отказались от всего происходящего либо после пролога либо после середины игры. Сюжет по-настоящему очень сильный и ни в одном массовом произведении(не только игре) я лично ничего подобного не испытывал. Те кто ругают геймплей должны поиграть на сложности Survival(там игра раскрывается на 1000%. Бои с людьми из-за ИИ с каждым разом становятся всё интереснее, а новые возможности в сочетании с левел дизайном дают огромный простор для личного опыта. Стрельба(которую на Survival можно только пощупать) сделана очень отзывчиво и крайне жестоко. И ещё повествование выстроено именно так, как это необходимо сюжету и работает в первую очередь именно на опыт игрока и его отношение к тем или иным персонажам. Шум PS4 точно показывает то насколько красиво выглядит игра, а выглядит она шикарно. Самая животрепещущая тема для СНГ это ЛГБТ повестка, которую не зная обо всём что происходило вокруг игры ты даже не заметишь. Атмосферой в игре настолько проникаешься, что иногда за персонажей из записок переживаешь как за второстепенных нпс потому что полностью веришь в этот мир. Насчёт озвучки- играть нужно исключительно в оригинал т.к. ни одна локализация не передаст тех эмоций(а если говорить про русскую не исказит смысл) того что сделали актёры оригинального дубляжа. Песни в этой игре отдельная тема для разговоров т.к. текст этих песен играет на нарратив и является самостоятельным инструментом повествования. Ну и кроме того в игре лучшая реализация гитары в игре не про гитару за все времена. The Last of us Part II настолько хорошо может пробить на эмоции(не только положительные), что иногда этому поражаешься. В заключение хочу сказать, что Нил Дракманн- гений, а вся команда Naughty Dog сделала невероятную работу, которую некоторые обесценивают из-за 1-2 сюжетных решений. После The Last of Us Part II покупаю любую игру Naughty Dog предзаказом.… Expand

Как известно, наделяя персонажа именем, игрок автоматически эмоционально к нему привязывается. В The last of Us 2 имя есть у каждого NPC. Это нам говорит о том,    Игра является абсолютным прорывом в игровой индустрии.

    3) От темы NPC можно плавно перейти к технической составляющей.
    ИИ несомненно выведен на новый уровень,а каждая стычка с врагом ощущается как реальная борьба не на жизнь, а насмерть. Боёвка сделана настолько грамотно, что игрок чувствует напряжение, страх, желание двигаться из-за постоянной нехватки ресурсов. Но есть одно НО. Все эти ощущения можно прочувствовать только на самой последней сложности. Если снизить её хотя бы до предпоследней, атмосфера выживания сразу пропадает.

    4) Графика в игре заставляет игрока восхищаться каждой мелочью, продуманной в игре. Начиная с покрытой снегом ветки, которую главная героиня задевает плечом, заканчивая красивейшими общими планами останков человеческой цивилизации, над которыми природа взяла верх. Отсюда можно сделать вывод, что атмосфера The last os Us 2 ни оставляет игроку ни единого шанса, кроме как проникнуться и наслаждаться красотами этого опасного, но всё таки по своему прекрасного мира.

    5) Многие оставляют негативные отзывы основывая их на том, что в игре якобы очень активно продвигается тема сексуальных меньшинств.
    Меньше одного процента ИЗ ВСЕЙ ИГРЫ отводится ЛГБТ повестке. Мне кажется, люди, которые основывают на этом негативные отзывы, вообще не играли в The last of Us 2.

    6) Музыкальная составляющая просто великолепна. Каждый эмбиент, каждая песня, исполненная главными героями, не оставляет игрока равнодушным и заставляет испытывать весь спектр положительных эмоций. Музыка в титрах заслуживает отдельного внимания

    7) Добавленные механики, открывают новые возможности. Казалось бы, обычная способность ложиться, но то как она реализована в купе с высокой травой, даёт в результате великолепный стелс. Механика игры на гитаре показала, что сенсорную панель геймпада можно использовать в абсолютно неожиданных случаях.

    8) Единственный недочёт игры в том, что некоторые персонажи раскрыты не в полной мере, но по сравнению со всем вышесказанным, это незначительная проблема.    … Expand

    Grafik, Designs! Synchro alles top. Ich will mehr solche Spiele Naughty Dog. Daumen hoch für diese widerliche, ekelhafte, grausame und somit großartige Kunst. Einziger Kritikpunkt. Es ist mir stellenweise zu langatmig. Man will nämlich wissen, wie es weiter geht, muss sich aber durch viele Gegner kämpfen.    … Expand

    Breathtaking experience! Improves game mechanics from the 1st game and the entire story was a roller coaster! I could not put the controller down as I was exciting to see what would come next. A Masterpiece.

    The game shows there is not just black and white, there are reasons why people change, react on events, get the consequences and lose control while situation escalates...

    It's not a standart corny GoodvsEvil-story. I hope more studios will have the gutts to produce games like this in the future.

    For me it's a masterpiece, thx ND for this great experience!

    I don’t understand why there are so many 0 scores here. This might not be a masterpiece or as good as part one. But this is definitely a fantastic game, game of the year imo. Lastly, I like Ellie and I like Abby too.

    The story and characters are not for the feint of heart. It is an emotional ride and I think really hits you in emotional ways I haven't felt in a game, even the first one. There are no politics or anything like that pushed into the game, I am not sure what these SJWs and fragile people are saying that. You knew she was a lesbian in the Left Behind DLC from the first game, and it doesn't add or detract from the game honestly, it's just how it is.

    The level design and gameplay is top notch. The story went in a different direction than the first one but it was on point, script was great, the decisions and how it all plays it out is really well done and even if you don't agree with the direction it went I just think it's great story-telling either way.

    If you play it you will be entertained, and mad, and sad, and happy, and everything in between. I don't know why these idiots all got together to **** on an amazing game and easily GOTY, but I guess that's what you get sometimes.

Tecnically the game pushes to the limits the maximal potencial of the ps4, it is a delightfull.

    But, Be aware that the story is a sad one (that is no the same to a "bad story"),    The game is really good, and everthyng in it like the gameplay, the details, cinematics, transition between cinematics and gameplay, landscapes, levels design, the "bosses", and also the story are really good. Tecnically the game pushes to the limits the maximal potencial of the ps4, it is a delightfull.

    This is easily one of the best games I've ver played, im already on my second play through because I enjoyed it so much the first time. I waited 7 years for this sequel and I am more than satisfied with what I got, which is undoubtably a masterpiece. The game is bleak and sad and does not let up for a second, your heart strings will be worn thin by the time you get to the mesmerizing conclusion at the end of the game. This is the best game i've played since Bloodborne, and I cannot recommend it enough.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. People who are saying that the game is bad, clearly did not want to understand what the game brings, nor did they try to see what happens in the history of the game. I think who complains about the game took these points into account:
    -There is no right or wrong side, everyone is wrong
    -The relationship between Ellie and Dina is not super sexualized as many lgbt + relationships are portrayed in different media
    -The humanization of Abby not putting her as a villain but as an ordinary human being who has normal feelings just like Ellie
    -The clear leveling of Abby, with Ellie, because they both wanted revenge, what differs is that Abby had her revenge but it didn't change anything in her life, she didn't bring her father back, since Ellie realized that taking revenge I wouldn't bring Joel back and that revenge is empty.
    Honestly those who complain about the story clearly did not want to understand or play the game properly. And do not mask your homophobia with meaningless comments saying that the story has holes and is poorly developed, people who have not even played the game want to have an opinion, will play the last the entire us 2 and then give a note. False fans of the saga    … Expand

    As beautiful a game as part one was. The same mix of story development and exploration, stealth combat, and panicky running as before. Not many games make you think this hard about the protagonists’ motives and moral choices. Slightly clunky character movement, but that aside, as near perfect a survival horror game as it’s possible to code.

    De gráficos, físicas y jugabilidad no hay mucho a destacar, una evolución orgánica, agradable de jugar y explorar y se siente realmente como una parte 2 más que un juego totalmente nuevo.
    Con respecto al primero pierde esa sensación épica de salvar al mundo y tener un viaje de héroe, pero esto hace que el juego se sienta mucho más crudo y oscuro, mal real, sensible y humano.    … Expand

Yes, the plot is about revenge, but the story is about Ellie’s grief just as the first Last of Us was about Joel’s grief. The first game mirrors the second game in that regard. The first Last of Us game is the whole “cure for mankind zombie apocalypse cliche” plot, but the story is about Joel’s grief. The Last of Us part 2 makes you walk in Abby’s shoes who is essentially in the same boat as Ellie in the beginning of the game. And if by the end of the game, you still want to kill Abby, I’m sorry to say that you might’ve beat the game physically, but you didn’t win the game Naughty Dog was playing with your heart or mind. This other review can explain this a lot better so i’ll link it. But I’ll leave you with a thought from that review. There is no difficulty setting in the game or in life, that makes forgiving someone easier. While The Last of Us part 2 has flaws mechanically, the story is intricate and painful. An emotional rollercoaster with some nice details to help elevate the characters to new highs.     This is a complimentary story to the first game. While the first game was about the amazing and beautiful things that can come from loving someone, this game is about the awful and horrific things that can come from loving someone. Just because this story isn’t what many fans wanted and was very sad doesn’t mean that it was poorly written.

    Great game that tests the players emotions and feelings. The developers tell a great story from two perspectives that is normally not told and shows a world were no one is a hero but morally gray or complete evil.

    I gave this a 10 because of the unique and different way that NaughtyDog approached this game. Its definitely not what I expected or what I wanted to happen but its something I deeply respect. Biggest issue was deadnaming of Lev. It made sense but still.

About halfway through her portion of the game, I came to realize that I no longer hated her, even if her actions were deplorable.     Brilliant yet harrowing, it stands above the original in it's much deeper gameplay. It broke my heart with it's story but I couldn't stop playing. I've played through it twice and have enjoyed every second. I just have to wonder if there will be a part 3...

    A fitting sequel to such an amazing story. Loved every minute of part 2 and the direction they took the story of Ellie and Joel. I am lost for words.     Com exceção da história que, apesar de boa não chega aos pés do primeiro jogo, a gameplay, a quantidade de coisas que podemos fazer dentro do jogo e personalização de armas enriquecem bastante o jogo e trás uma experiência incrível. Fora os gráficos que são maravilhosos, claro que na MINHA opinião esse jogo é muito bom.

    А концовка игры это отдельная тема, ведь именно она раскрывает главного персонажа игры (Элли) не как машину мести, а как человека, прошедшего через многие трудности.

If it were a movie, it'd be one of my favorites.

    Story aside, let's talk about ambiance and realism first: When I walked the streets of Seattle with Ellie, especially when she was on her own, I felt extremely on edge, because it felt so damn real to me. It's the most immersive game I ever played.

    Most people would agree, that the graphics are great, but even though the graphics are absolutely amazing, they are only a cog in the wheel. What makes the ambiance of this game so real and immersive is also the sound, the enemy behavior, the way the protagonist interacts with their companion and the way the characters react to certain things. Then there's the level design, the way you feel like you can always go wherever you want, even though it's not an open world. You don't feel like you're trapped in a tunnel with only one way to go.

    I usually try to search every area in a game, but in TLOU2 I decided to only go a certain route sometimes, because it felt more real to me. The game made me feel like I could explore more, but it would be a risk that might not be worth taking. Through this, in my head, the areas I went through felt huge and real.

    Where there's graphics, there's details and design. The streets, buildings, nature, but especially every single room was so damn detailed. Every single room you go through, looks like a real room, where a real person lived in at some point. They all have their own character. I've never seen anything like it. And you just walk through them. You don't have to stop and admire all the details. You can't when you're on the run and the game doesn't expect you to do so. But it will blow your mind, when you go into photo mode and see how real the environment looks.

    The cars look real, the vegetation looks real, hell even the damn garbage looks real.

    And then there's the intense stealth and combat gameplay. The way enemies talk to each other and call out each others names, the fact they don't always walk in a straight line but look around etc. The transition between cutscenes and gameplay, the animations, the physics. I could go on and on, but in the end, you have to experience it yourself. In regards of immersion and ambiance, this game sets the bar.

    The Story

    Alright, let's actually talk about the story though. No spoilers.

    The story is dark, it is tragic, it's mature, it's unconventional, it's brutal. This is not your typical videogame story. It's a story about moral dilemma. It's emotional and you'll end up thinking about it and discussing it long after you played it. The characters aren't very quirky or anything, but they're extremely authentic. All the conversations seem very organic.

    Then there's the cutscenes, the acting, the music: Absolutely phenomenal. Simply looking at a facial expression tells you so much about what that character is thinking. This impression is boosted by the details of the faces and facial animations.

    To me, every twist and turn made perfect sense in the end.

    The Hate

    People who couldn't stop themselves from learning all about the leaks and judged the whole game and its developers by it and joined the TLOU2-hate-circlejerk before even giving the game a chance: The creators haven't ruined your game, you have ruined it for yourself.

    You made a choice to hate on the game, without even having played it. You judge the game by the spoilers and let other people tell you how to feel about it let them tell you how right you are being upset, but you haven't played it.

    I feel Schadenfreude about everyone who's been utterly toxic, sending spoilers to others and sending hate messages to developers and voice actors. I'm glad you didn't buy the game and experience it. And if you do come around and buy the game one day when it's on sale, you'll be biased and you won't be able to enjoy it. You'll only play to nitpick and prove your point. Or maybe you'll end up secretly liking it or even loving it and you'll feel too ashamed to admit it and you'll feel like a dick for behaving the way you did. Either way, nothing comes close to the wonderful experience I had with this game, which is the best, most beautiful and impressive game I have ever played in my entire life.

    To anyone who has played the game with an open mind and ended up not liking certain parts or even the whole story and are able to express themselves in a mature manner: I fully respect your opinion and I don't have any issues with you at all.

    This game is a MUST-BUY. And dare I say the forbidden word: It's a masterpiece. Ignore the hate, experience it for yourself.

    Naughty Dog has done it in this game, The graphics, gameplay and audio, all are top-notch. The only thing I don't like is how sudden and how Joel dies. I think they could've done it better but maybe that"s what they wanted.

    This game has a really deep and well-written story, while I think that it could be shorter in some parts, I don't think it is a big problem.
    The gameplay is fluid, and the game mechanics are great.
    The graphics are amazing, and the facial animations are really impressive
    My advice to anyone buying this game is to play with an open mind and make your own opinion.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Personally it’s an amazing game...I think most people that hate on it would only be happy if it told the story that they specifically wanted. It takes them out of there comfort zone and they aren’t happy about it. Forced to face the reality that the end of the first game had very real consequences for other innocent people and loved ones, they’d rather ignore the fact that Joel’s choice was a rather selfish one that meets its reckoning on the end of another selfish choice. What happens in this game is no less justified than the choice Joel made at the end of the first, chew on that for a bit. If your looking for a feel good story, then it’s not for you. But if your looking for a story that looks deeper into the shades of gray that make up the human psyche, you won’t be disappointed.… Expand

    I didn't enjoy this game. It made me feel angry, disappointed, distraught, and physically sick at various points throughout. It only got worse later in the game, until it finally finished, and I haven't stopped thinking about it for the last two days.

No doubt, if Naughty Dog had made the game these fans wanted, I would have enjoyed it too. But they didn't.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the most incredible stories ever told in the medium. This game will break your heart, make you sick to your stomach, enrage you, but its all in service of a story that is unforgettably emphatic.

    Here's my breakdown of the three groups of people that hate this game: idiots, bigots, and rational people.

    Idiots: there are some people who can't comprehend the concept that the death of a beloved character can often serve the narrative more than their prolonged existence. Joel's death is meant to make you furious and depressed, and these idiots took that as an excuse to get mad at the developers, instead of the characters who did it. I like many people, felt the latter, which made for the perfect fuel for a revenge narrative. There are people who think Joel should have gone out in some blaze of glory, sacrificing himself for Ellie, probably quipping like some **** Marvel movie. These people missed the entire point of the series. There are no happy endings. No heroes send-off. Joel DID get a terrible death, which traumatizes Ellie even more, and the same is true for the player. The death they gave Joel was sickening, and that's the point. I cannot understand how so many people are so mad about this in such a dumb way. Yes be mad that someone died. Sometimes that happens, sometimes it seems unfair, sometimes it leaves you in anguish. That's what you're supposed to feel.

    Bigots: Let's not pretend. A large portion of all the negative reviews, and most negative opinions of the game, are because of some supposed "woke agenda". Ellie calls a homophobe a bigot, and apparently that's "woke". So is two female characters. So is a lesbian couple raising a child. So is a child questioning their gender. These inclusions were done so naturally and inoffensively that you would have to be a bigot to be upset by them. People are mad that Abby is jacked, as if you wouldn't train to be a killer if you sought out revenge for your father. People are mad that there's a twist at the end of Abby's story that Lev is trans, as if there wouldn't be any nonbinary people in the apocalypse. I can understand if they really ham-fisted it in, and said some garbage about being trans and strong, or making some comments about girl power or how women are stronger than men or something. But they didn't. This very much was a game with very complex characters that just happened to be diverse. The diversity was hardly a focal point. Even Lev's journey is more about family, spirituality, and defiance, than about being trans.

    Rational people: Now art is subjective, so obviously there are many reasons why people might like or dislike something. And there are plenty of people who didn't like this game that are justified. There are a few issues that even I have to acknowledge. Firstly, this is a very, very long game. Its pretty much 2 games in one. And a lot of people have commented on the pacing being an issue. While I found the story intensely captivating, and could hardly put down the controller when I first played it, there were still plenty of people who commented on the slow nature of some sections, especially Seattle Day 1 on Ellie's side. If a game with a long runtime that takes a while to conclude is not your cup of tea, you may not enjoy this game all the way through, but I loved it. I think the pacing of combat, exploration, and story was brilliant, and well organized. But yeah some sections are slow, and there's a lot of opening empty drawers for the sake of realism.
    There are also people who dislike the constant jumping around, to different locations without much build up. While I liked the long journey of the first game, I think it would be kinda boring to do it again. Also some people don't like the combat, but i think its the best Naughty Dog has made yet. Its so satisfying and precise, and getting headshots is especially satisfying when there's so few bullets. As a more grounded shooter (not one with crazy sci-fi or fantasy elements) I think its the best of its kind. I'm sure there are plenty of other small details too, but I can't imagine them being such dealbreakers that they would ruin the game at all. Every game has flaws, but I think these are some of the major ones.

    Lastly, I just wanna say, If you really did play to the end of the game, and still want Abby to die, then there's something wrong with you. By every objective metric, Abby is no more guilty or deserving of death than Ellie or Joel. Ellies revenge story is literally the same as Abby's. Joel killed her dad, and Abby killed Ellie's surrogate father. They are both justified, or neither of them are. And if you're problem is that Abby is a bad person, then so is Joel. He was a cold blooded murderer who stole and tortured and likely doomed the entire human race. Either they're both evil, or neither of them are. Abby is a bad person, but everyone in this world is.

    A fantastic game. One of the best I've seen. Definitely, is in the top of the current generation of consoles, and possibly in general. I do not understand the anger of the forehead. A beautiful story, great characters, a sea of ​​emotions, an incredible picture, unique gameplay. 10/10

    This game was ground breaking, and the story was so impactful that I’m still thinking about weeks after I beat it. It doesn’t hold your hand, and it’s dark realism will be hard for many to swallow.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Shame about the bots and **** ruining the reviews for this game, but anyone who has played through the whole game knows how amazing this game truly is.

    Joel’s death of course broke my heart, I adored him and his character development from the first game, where he turned from a ruthless smuggler to a father figure. We’ve seen him slowly accept Sarah’s death and heal with the help of Ellie.

    Being that involved in Joel’s life makes experiencing his death so much worse, especially how brutal it was. Many people complained about this, but I feel it was the best way for Naughty Dog to go, having that emotional connection made me feel more involved in the game. I felt Ellie’s anger and grief, I wanted that revenge. If it was another character’s death that happened such as Dina, it would feel superficial because we don’t know about her as a person until the end of the game. The environment, graphics, NPCs and story were all fantastic, so many details to explore. I always enjoyed the notes you could find in the first game, and seeing it again made me very happy, it gives us insight into other lives affected by the apocalypse. My favourite environments were the underground/sewage sections with the red lighting, the part of the war between the scars and wolves on the island (specifically when Haven is burning down) and the end on the beach in Santa Barbra. So many more weather options and environments were involved, you couldn’t not stop and enjoy it.

    As for Abby, by the end of the game, it was truly hard for me to hate her. Yes, I hated her for killing Joel, but she was doing the same thing as Ellie was, revenge. It was such an interesting choice for Naughty Dog to also have you play from her perspective, because when you do you start to sympathise with her pain and suffering. As a whole, I thoroughly enjoyed learning about her, at the beginning I thought she was just a ruthless and cold killer, but you realise she’s rather kind with a very strong moral compass. She passed on killing Ellie twice, even though she killed her friends. Lev and Yara were honestly a favourite of mine, I loved their involvement in the story, and Lev overall is such an interesting character you wouldn’t usually think about. Yara’s death was very sad, but I enjoyed seeing the development between Lev and Abby from then on.

    Combat was great, massively improved from the first game. The introduction of dogs was a great choice, as it made sneaking a lot harder, and made me think a lot more about my movements. I struggled with the bow in the first game, but found it much easier to use this time round. It was also very satisfying using many different tools such as the bombs, stun grenades and so on. There’s so much I could comment on, but it’s one of those games one wouldn’t understand or appreciate until they’ve played it themselves. Naughty Dog did an amazing job with such a difficult decision, and that decision led to them being berated by spiteful people who wanted to put them down for petty reasons. You can have your cake and eat it, of course there are things they can’t do because it would make the game weaker overall. Joel’s death was obviously not a very light decision for them, I’d say it would have been one of the most difficult, yet I believe it’s the best option they took.

    Thank you Naughty Dog for making such an iconic series, from when I was 12 until now I’ve enjoyed every part of the story and lore, and this game stepped up my love for it massively. It’ll always be a very special part of my life.    … Expand

Most people seem to don't like it because either they don't understand the story and its moral message or because of personal reasons (homophobia, hates strong women et.). This is very sad because when you expect to not like something you won't like it for sure.
    In most games you kill one person after the other and the game gives you some kind of feeling that you achieved something good but to reach the goal you murdered thousands of people and no one cares (Uncharted, Tomb Raider etc.) It's the same with Ellies first Part of the story. But what makes TLOU II a masterpiece is the change in point of view to Abby. We see her love to her father, her fear of heights, the death of her friends and comrades, a pointless war against a misguided cult and later on her choosing to save two children from all of it and after all her moral superiority when she decides to let Ellie and pregnant Dina live. The evil killer that murdered Joel became human, every killing (even the dogs) and all the brutality is viewed from another point and is reflected. The message is clear: revange does not only takes so many lifes, it leads to a never seeming to end cycle which ruins the lifes of both Abby and Ellie particularly shown in their fight on the beach. Abby tried to end this before, showed mercy and got out of everything with the little boy at the end. But Ellie who couldn't forget her hatred and went again for revange lost everything: Dina and the child, the farm and very important her fingers. Without them it's impossible for her playing guitar which is the central connection between her and Joel, loosing this ability means all the hate and revange only led to loosing Joel in a way...
    I am very gratefull to have been able to play this outstanding masterpiece! This story was on a completly other level not to mention the unbelievable graphics, the on-point gameplay, the love for detail, not one but two amazing female main characters and as I have heard overwhelming accessibility options. I really hope Naughty Dog is going for a third part in which they conclude the story, either Ellie dies and all hope for humanity is lost or they find a vaccination. This is a story about what hate and revenge does to people and ironically the people who were hating this game are the ones who got the harm because they couldn't go through this experience.    … Expand

    Amazing all around game from story to graphics. The best game i have ever played. Anyone who is complaining about this game is either a bigot or doesn't understand the story at all. No arguments I have heard so far hold any water.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
