Да, игра не подходит для фанатов The Last Of Us. Expand

The combat was fun (the was is important later), the graphics are beautiful, the environments and level design is amazing, and the voice acting is impeccable. However, the reason why this game is a 6 or 7 is purely due to the gameplay and story. The combat was fun. The first ten hours in you enjoy the combat and its a blast to play but eventually, it becomes a tedious drag similar to red dead redemption 2. The AI is laughably bad, I'd argue its nearly as bad if not worse than assassin's creed AI. This brings the game automatically to an 8 or 9, but now its the story. I really don't want to go into detail with this simply because it would require a whole essay to describe all my problems with this game. The simple facts are the reason why this story is bad is due; 1) Abby, 2) Character inconsistencies from the last game (Joel and Tommy), 3) the revenge bad plotline, and 4) pretty much every new character actually. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Although I don’t agree with a 5.4 rating, I just as much don’t agree with a 10/10 rating. This games pacing is horrible. You’re all over the place with this game. I was hoping the leaks would be false about playing for Abby for the second half of the game. It was flashback after flashback and then you flash forward and then flash back and then flash to the present: it was all over the place. And after you beat the daylights out of Ellie and her crew as Abby, you flash forward like a year maybe 2 years into the future with completely different takes on the characters. For example: At the beginning of the game, Tommy doesn’t want Ellie to go face Abby and just let it go, and then at the end of the game, he calls Ellie pathetic for trying to let it go?? The whole barn sequence felt like a day dream or something. It’s like if you were watching a tv show that ran 4 seasons. 1st season is great so far. It’s good, it’s interesting, and it sets the tone and setting. 2nd season, it’s all right. It’s nothing like the first season, but you aren’t as interested. Then it feels like you skipped the 3rd seasons and went straight to the 4th/final season with new characters (rattlers) and Ellie, Abby and Tommy are all different characters now.

Despite all that, there were many good parts to the game, mainly being gameplay.

    Gameplay - 8/10
I LOVE the stealth oriented gameplay, the areas of gameplay are bigger and more vertical, there are some new fun to use weapons, stealth got better just by being able to crawl, but most of it is pretty much more of the same from the first game, it was just constantly interrupted by cutscenes and the context of the story made me sometimes NOT ENJOY being good at the game. Also too much jump scares, too many times the game forcefully takes all my gear when I just got comfortable with using all of the tools they gave me.

Narrative script and dramaturgy - 5/10
The characters from the previous game were absolutely out of their previous characteristics, one of the most belloved characters from previous game was flatout disrespected by the writers from the very start of the game and awkwardly recalled in flashbacks later to what we actually wanted to see after playing the first game, problem is it was out of beat of funcional story of this genre. My personal and professional oppinion is that this event should have taken place roughly half way through the game, not at the beginning.

Other characters were acting pretty ridiculously knowing who they are what life experiences they all have. The motivation and actions of lots of those characters is just completely crazy and nonsensical. All the constant jumping back and forth between playable characters to explain it, flashbacks and unplayable cutscenes stopped me from getting to know the new characters I was supposed to care for and empathise with them later on in the game. Lots of reasoning the story used either didnt make sense in the reality of that world or was in direct contradiction of what the game tells you couple of scenes earlier.

Lots of smalltalk between characters during gameplay or exploration was cringeworthy not just for me, but for both of my flatmates watching me play the game. It just came off like a fan fiction based on the world of Last of Us 1 written for a specific niche of the audience of the first game, but without fully respecting the previous game.

Lingering on super violent scenes and letting characters that already went through a lot of violence and rought life, but also know peaceful life in safe communities, go through all this crazyness without having anything to reflect on it and just keep on being hellbent on more violence is surprising and shocking and I get what kind of experience they try to create for players, but the first game wasnt like that, it used violence differently when it comes to the main plot of the game, it built suspence and brought points and realisations both to the player and the character that were not so shocking, but emotionally way more hard hitting than anything in this game, I just remember feeling shocked by some cheap jumpscares and disgusted by taking some violent scenes a bit too far and completely let down by the ending.

SO, how would I rate this game overall?
7.5/10 - for the goold old Last of Us gameplay and the technical quality

I mean graphics and psychics. All details, even the smallest worked out perfectly. Ok, let’s speak about plot and storyline. I don’t understand, why so many people think the story is boring and stupid. Perhaps because they didn’t understand all morality and meaning that Neil Druckmann wanted to convey to them. Game has a very deep morality. It wanted to show us, what revenge can do. Ellie lost her fat mily: Joel, Dina, Tommi and AJ. And that revenge Beersheba more revenge. That’s allbreeds more revenge. The story is a pale shadow of the original, which truly was a masterpiece, and if not for the leaks they would have palmed off this garbage as a proper sequel.

But it isn't, the mechanics are practically ancient, the level design is so smoothbrain that it's painfully obvious that having fun was absolutely the last priority for the developers, and the writing is on par with a Twilight movie. The dodge and jump mechanics are also laughably bad and add nothing to the experience.

I could write an entire essay on how stupid the story and characters are but suffice to say everything you've heard is true. Everyone is awful, nothing is hopeful, and it comes off as a shallow and preachy diatribe. You will be bored to tears playing this and frustrated to the point of facepalming yourself into another dimension. Everything bad you've heard about this game is 100% accurate.

This was a vanity project for Neil Druckmann and it turns out he isn't half as clever as he thinks he is. If you want a game with a good story and gameplay play Star Wars Fallen Order or even minesweeper. Avoid this game like zombie brain fungus.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is unavoidable that the theme is how NaughtyDog deals with the stubborn relationship in 1.
However, it is difficult to tolerate the present work, whose humanity and affection before the pandemic disappeared from the root.
Negative emotions are too great to make Joel a foremost player by putting Joel on the forefront.
It seems like a consistent theme from the previous work, and I will never be convinced by the sequel that lost sight of how to convey the theme.

Elie wants to forgive Joel's sin
Elie wants to forgive Abby's sin
A player wants to forgive Joel's sin
Feeling that the player wants to forgive Abby's sin (high difficulty).

    Everything is off.
Personally, I think that players cannot be immersed in the last Erie's disappointment unless everything is tied with equality.
Even if Ellie's disappointment is shown from a bird's-eye view, I can't feel the weight of Joel's death, and above all I can't feel the weight of the gameplay.

Do you want to draw opposite ego?
Do you want to draw Ellie's forgiveness and liberation?
After all, it's just an unpleasant game experience

TLOU1 Suspension bridge through action game The player's emotions that increase effectively cause a chemical reaction with a scenario that draws two distorted love

TLOU2 wanted the player to build a complicity relationship with the character through an action game, and to create an immersive feeling in a scenario that makes you feel guilty and disappointed, but the script is too bad and it is not functioning.
I think what Neil tried to do was an experimental and interesting idea. If all went well, I think it was a great gaming experience. However, the result was the worst game.

He completely betrayed his fans by immersing himself in the best gaming experience of the previous game.
It's just unpleasant and bad taste, and what remains after clearing is the feeling of emptiness and fatigue.

I used the previous work as a tool to evoke this **** feeling. And I don't feel the need at all. Nothing is convincing.

You don't have to create what your fans want.
However, it is unforgivable to insult the fans who supported you and the story of Joel and Erie from the bottom of your life.

The volume and making of the gameplay part is wonderful, and it can be said that it is an orthodox evolution of the previous work.
    That's not enough.
It's painful just to imagine playing the second lap because you're forced to play a game that violently tells a story or violates player feelings. This is an incredibly horrifying flaw in the game.

Not only fans, Naughty Dog betrayed many people who made this game together.

:) Expand

Second, the pacing of the game is bad. Very bad. Even the story is boring and stupid, the game should last 20 hours max. However, it lasted 30 hours. You should expect a lot of filler content. Another problme enlarged by the pacing is the map design. Sure, the map looks great, but I got lost all the freaking time. This is something never happen in 1.
Third, the story. In short, the story sucks, No matter you played 1 or not. At least, Abby's story should be in front of Ellies. Even that's still bad story. In this story, all the character in this game are insane.
Joey, Ellie, Tommy, and Abby. All of thos character would do things out of the character all the time. Ellie and Abby are the worst. They are both unlikable, Abby is just ugly, unhumanly ugly, and ruthless or should I say evil?
Four, camera swtiching. The camera swiching is bad and stupid. As a player, you will be forced into another storyline then memory of that story line multiple time. They are both boring and stupid, made the game's pacing very bad. Another problem caused by the camera switching is that, the emotion player build up during the gameplay, has nowhere to go. Very uncomfortable.
Five, the story teller is mixing a lot things I like in this game, that don't make sense. Dina, Ellie's girlfriend is a gay. Even I don't mind gay, the way the game showed their love is, boring to be least and stupid. One of the story, they just found a weed house, then started to smoke weed and having sex. If you think that's bad, you are wrong. Dina is a likable person, but she has no real purpose in this story. So does Jesse. They are helping Ellie to revenge. What made it worse is that, Jessie is Dina's ex boyfriend, they break up 1 week ago. So Dina is pregranent of Jessie's child. Sorry, I don't really want to discuss this part anymore, too disgusting. However, Abby's friend Owen and Mel, they share similar relation as Elllie, Jessie and Dina.
You see, in 1, Joel and Eillie are the main hero. Since Joel did a lot of bad things, so it make sense he die some way. But not in this way. However, the director promised Eillie will be the only character we can play. The final game let you play Eille, then force you play a evil, ugly, unlikable charadcter, Abby, while killing Joel in the 2 hours of the game.

Half the game is pretty much unbearable when you playing as Abby. The WHOLE time I just want it to be over with and her to just die. After the beautifully written first Last of Us. I’m disappointed by Naughty Dog. They even lied to every one when they showed Joel in the trailer of the game!! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us II is not gonna give you what you want. This is the entire point of the game. It is supposed to make you suffer and feel uncomfortable unlike anything else can.

Everyone wanted Joel and Ellie adventures continuing their beautifully established father-daughter-esque relationship in part I. Well no, you´re not gonna get what you want. Endure it and survive!

Instead the games takes a very bold approach, one that I personally approve of. And there it is - personal preference. Everybody is gonna have their own opinions and thoughts about this game. So please get the full experience, play it for yourself and then decide how much you like it. For me it´s a 10. I am amazed by TLOU II and what impact it has on me long after I finished my first playthrough. I had a remarkable *unique* 30 hour experience with many mixed states of emotions. You might disagree with that, you might have hated the way the story continued and overall see it only as a 4. And that is totally fine! But don´t let anybody (including me) or any leaked scenes or reviews influence you how to feel about a game (and basically anything in life). And please don´t hate on or even personally attack people who completely stan or bash the hell out of a game, that´s disgusting and there´s just no room for that. Respect other peoples honest opinion.

The Last Of Us II is able to portray such diverse emotions and aspects. Fear, sadness, fun, tragedy, violence, anger, redemption, forgiveness, panic (increases with difficulty level), love, friendship, nature and beautiful scenery, I could go on... The visuals and character performances are absolutely stunning and create a real life atmosphere feeling. The soundtrack is very well used in the right spots to strengthen these effects.

I´m not gonna dive very deep into the story itself, I just wanna mention a few things about Abby. I hated having to play with her in the beginning. After everything I´ve been through with Ellie, it was just a smack in the face with a brick. TLOU II is very good with these kind of moments. I let Abby die intentionally a couple times. The game makes you suffer again and does exactly what you don´t want: trying very hard to make you like Abby. As the story continued, I started to get a new perspective on her. When it came down to the dramatic fight backstage in the theatre I didn´t root for her as my emotional connection with Ellie is much stronger. But I gotta admit, Abby has been through some rough stuff. Up high in the skyscrapers and down low in ground zero on day 2 captures this best. Some people might´ve wanted to free Abby from her sins at the pillars in Seraphite fashion. But in the end I was okay with letting her go. Maybe breaking that cycle of revenge is exactly what Ellie needed to do to get her redemption and get the chance at a "normal" life.

No other video game or movie for that matter left me more emotionally drained when the credits rolled. I stared at the screen in disbelief of what had just happened until a beautiful version of wayfaring stranger started playing making me tear up. After my first playthrough I felt empty, sad and confused. Ellie seemed to have lost everything. I hated it. Seeing her end up with her biggest fear: ending up alone with everyone she cares about either gone or dead. That´s just tragic and hurts my soul. This was just another huge bottle shattered in my face bringing me down.

It took me a while to process everything and it still does. I was so shocked I didn´t notice small details like: Ellie wearing Dina´s bracelet after not having it on her when leaving the farmhouse. Ellie carrying no weapons and acting unsurprised and unbothered by the empty house. This hints at the possibility of her and Dina settling down in Jackson which I´d be happy to see.

I believe she went back for the only object you can interact with in the last scene: the guitar. I´m not sure if she planned to take it with her. But after attempting to play with her missing fingers and then putting to rest what was her only connection left to Joel, for me it symbolized that she has finally come to peace with Joel and she can fully forgive him moving forward.

I don´t know if there´s gonna be another emotional roller coaster part III but I´d be happy to get any new TLOU content, next time hopefully without leaks.

There are funny games that entertain the player like a Mario. There are games after which it becomes sad like Nier or MGS3. But I had never before met a game that would cause me so many negative emotions. Not sadness, not fear, namely negative, anger. This is anger because the developers killed my favorite game. They didn’t turn it into an assembly line, like Assassins Creed, didn’t make the game a little worse than the original, namely KILLED. I feel dead, and Nill Drackmann stands by and spits on my corpse. The whole game is a sick fantasy of a man who imagines himself to be a genius. Do not expect logic in the plot from TLOU2, it is not there. If Drackmann decided that some character should die here and now, so it will be. Characters die as stupidly as possible, their actions are illogical. In the game, loudonarrative dissonance is very felt. Remember the scene with the deer in Tomb Rider 2013? So, here everything is much worse. Everything that we loved the first part, disappeared. There was only beautiful graphics, animation and gameplay, which almost did not change. Unfortunately, if I tell in more detail why this game is so bad, it will be a spoiler. For me, as a TLOU fan, this is the biggest disappointment of the year. Friend, I want to contact you: if you love the first part as much as I do, do not buy this game! Let Drackmann go down from heaven to earth and stop considering fans stupid pieces of meat. My score is 2/10 (one point for beautiful graphics and one point for animation, there is nothing else in this game)

The Last of Us 2 is to me, the PS4's answer to Game of Thrones.

The Last of Us remains the best game I have ever played, I adore it beyond words. The same can be said for the DLC of Left Behind, both stories are spectacularly told, and I have yet to find a franchise that is able to create such an attachment and love for their characters as much as this one.
There is no denying that the sequel would undoubtedly leave people unhappy, the pressure on this game meant that nothing short of perfection would be accepted, as should be the case because the unfortunate truth of this game is that it has for me, and for many others, tarnished the beauty of its predecessor.
It should not need to be said that graphically the Last of Us 2 is indeed a masterpiece. Other elements such as the gameplay and the acting are improved but stay true to the original., it is perhaps what makes the story of this game all the harder to accept. I played this game with a mixture of heartbreak, anger, and disinterest. Heartbreak for all the artists, actors, programmers, everyone who worked so hard especially amidst the rumours of crunch time behind the scenes; anger that the writers had failed to match the high standards of the artists and the original. Disinterest because I felt no enjoyment throughout the second half, and indeed part of the first.

It took me 3 attempts to finish this game. Admittedly only because i felt I owed it to those who worked so hard, and to my adoration of the original, I prayed the payoff would be worth it.
Neil Druckmann said that they would not create a sequel without a real reason, indeed the motivation here demands the story be told, the story begins as a mission for revenge - pure and simple. The game plays out with a similar linearity to the first one with regards to gameplay, but with a strong reliance on flashbacks and alternative POVs to create a depth that quite frankly, it could have done without. It has taken me many hours to accept the story and direction taken by Druckmann, I have however still not forgiven it. The insistence on forcing this outdated and frankly unwanted trope that 'an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind' is what makes this game so unlikeable. The message is too forced, so much so that it detracts from the likeability of even those characters from the original. It also does not help that they altered the trailer, substituting characters to avoid leaks.
At the end of the day I cannot score this game poorly because it is so beautiful in every aspect but story. It has though ruined the beauty of the Last of Us for me. I wish it hadn't, I really wanted to fall in love with this game, but no matter how many excuses I make, I cannot forgive the laziness of the writing. I see hints of the bittersweet nuances of the original, especially in the flashbacks, which makes this review all the harder. But I felt lied to when I finished this game, angry that the very same people who created the first game with all its depth and heartbreak, could turn around and accept this as a worthy sequel.
This review is not an angry rage against a direction I did not agree with, it is a solemn warning of the disappointment to come for any who choose to play this.

I, someone who holds The Last Of Us Part 1 to such a high regard can say without a doubt, that for me, Part 2 not only reaches that same height, but in many ways pushes even higher. From the innovations in game design allowing for combat encounters to be the most fun and engaging I have ever experienced. The immense quality of animation and the most dynamic range of graphics the PS4 can offer. The story, although sometimes fatigue inducing over a 25-30 hour experience focused on plot, the narrative still for me is an overwhelmingly great feat. The cast all round do a great job of humanising their actions and making you torn between loving and hating them. Stand out characters would be Shannon Woodward's 'Dina', Ian Alexander's 'Lev' and of course Ashley Johnson as Ellie, Troy Baker as Joel and Laura Bailey as Abby in the lead roles. Since you're more stealthy this time around, enemies are smarter, and look in places you wouldn't expect them to. The graphics are incredible and make this dangerous world feel alive. Add to this a story (which was arguably the strongest point of its predecessor) that tries to be subversive but just ends up missing the mark, and you end up with a 3/10.
Sprinkle on top a zest of divisive political agenda and a negative attitude towards anyone genuinely expressing concerns about th game, and you end up with an even more sour experience and a 1/10.

As a sidenote, I should emphasize that having a political undertone in a game is not a problem per se. But it becomes a problem when it turns into an agenda that supplants other aspects of the game. For instance, when the a priori decision to have "strong" women (read: women that are like men, for some reason) pushes you to design an ultra-buffed girl that doesn't make sense in such a post-apo world (an ultra-buffed man wouldn't either btw), or to put a pregnant woman on the front line when such a person would be the most valuable for the surviving community at that very moment. That's not "strong", that's ridiculous. So ridiculous that you end up seeing the writers pulling the strings instead of losing yourself in a consistent story.

To play as Joel for 20 hours and for him to die in the end saving Ellie? You all need to grow. Best game I played in years, without a doubt one of the best experience in the gaming world, at least in the top 10 of all time, and I don't meant for me, but in general. Thank you Naughty Dog for this masterpiece, really thank you. Expand

Others might disagree, but Abby is one of my favorite characters in recent memory and a fantastic addition to the franchise. This is a very nuanced story that will probably emotionally wreck you, but it is worth the ride. You also get your money's worth as this game is LOOONG. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My opinion on the story: The last of Us is not about Ellie and Joel. It's about representing a realistic society in extreme conditions. This also means that all characters are realistic and complex and because of this, a simple and linear revenge story would make no sense for the game. Abby's story in the game is not about making people feel bad for her. It's about showing that realistic characters have their own personal conflicts motivations to accomplish their goals. Playing Abby's part forces the player to understand that Ellie's motivation for revenge isn't anything special outside her own perspective. This might be a tough realization but it creates a very unique (and disturbing) feeling in the player.
Having said that, I also think that the game does a fine job innovating in the concept of storytelling in a video game: The structure allows the story to be even more emotional and character-focused that Part 1. In conclusion, I would agree that it's not a game for everyone but I deeply appreciate that the development team took big risks to make the best game from a creative standpoint instead of one designed to please the fans.

Cons: Gameplay disconnected from the story, not enough attention to character development, padded to the gills

TLOU1 was a love letter to the South and Americana in many ways. It lingers on the foliage of the vistas, you fight zombies through abandoned suburban towns, the final fight in a snowy mountain town was unforgettable. TLOU2 suffers in many ways through a reliance on sewers and abandoned buildings and basements. In the first game Tess sacrifices herself to help ellie and joel after she's bitten. When she begs them to run you can see the fear and anger in her. In this game there is no one compelling in that manner. Abby becomes your favorite character because they make Ellie's campaign so tedious you can't help but like her.

As many others have said, Ellie is reduced to a workshopped set of keywords: angry, fatigued, sardonic, unempathetic, insecure. I think less of an issue than uses not liking this game is why do the critics love it so much? It believes in its own greatness with a burning passion, and critics lap this up. It believes "bad guys can be good too" is a mindblowing message. If you look at games such as God of War, the Witcher, or Persona 5, you see games where the story is incredibly complex and rich. If you play a game such as Dark Souls or Bloodborne you see games where the story isn't even clearly explained and yet its utterly haunting. TLOU2 doesn't come close to this complexity of storytelling, yet critics have slavered over themselves for it and to defend it to all. This game is just ok - not bad, and not great, but a perfectly fine game with some issues.

This game is a technical masterpiece and has made me very complicated and challenging feelings unlike any other game. Narrative-wise, Naughty Dog makes bold decisions and hopes that the player is trusting enough to go along for the ride. If you are open-minded, this game is easily one of the most evocative pieces of media I have consumed in my lifetime and is well worth experiencing.

I finished my first play through of The Last of Us Part II yesterday. One word describes my overall experience, wow! My hat is off to Neil Druckmann and the Naughty Dog team on their beautifully dark masterpiece. Before I get into the story (which is clearly either I love it or I f@*$ing hate it), lets chat about the graphics.
I had NO idea our gracefully aging PS4 console had this much untapped potential. The incredible (INCREDIBLE) details, the animations, the acting, the dense and plush and extremely realistic environments, and the facial animations are insane. Talk about helping to suck you into the story. I don’t know how many times I was staring at the screen during a cut scene, mouth agape, and then realizing that I was making the same disgustingly contorted look of pain, anger, hate, and extreme sadness, mirroring Ellie! Boy, did it cause me (and clearly everyone else because of the emotional impact it is causing across the PS4 community) FEEL. And it does all of this while running at what is a very smooth frame rate. At least on my PS4 Pro.
Now, the story. Oh boy, was this a roller coaster ride. I’m not talking a little kids wanna be ride, I’m talking about the God damn Kingda Ka! The direction of the story is EXTREMELY different than the first game, which does explain some of the hate. But omg, was it surprising and emotional. And realistic. Very, very realistic. It doesn’t necessarily feel like a story written by the very talented team at ND because everything that happens is believable. Emotionally realistic. Ill compare it to hearing my Grandpa’s war stories from WWII. No, I’m not equating WWII to a video game folks, but I am saying that it gives me a somewhat similar overall feeling. The feeling that I was being told about something so powerful, real, and impacting that actually took place. But is hard to believe that it took place because it is so world changing. Not a made up story. In addition the “heroes”, the good AND the bad are all given detailed back stories. They help us to see and feel that the opposing side is arguably just as legitimate in their, what we thought were heinous acts. Empathy. That the “bad guys” might not be so bad and the “heroes” might not be all that heroic. That we are ALL humans and we all make mistakes. And sometimes bad decisions.
No, I will not be playing this as much as the first game. Not because it is lacking in any areas or isn't as fun but because it is so emotionally impacting. Because it no longer feels like I am playing a game. It now feels like I am playing a movie. But I absolutely love it and hope ND continues down this road.

I think it is important to make a difference between if a work of art is well made and if you liked experiencing it. The last of us 2 was an anxiety ridden, frustrating, anger inducing and sad experience for me. I cant say i had "fun" with it in a sense of i was laughing and joyful. But that's not what this games aspires to be. Still it is a 10/10 game for me because the narrative is cohesive, thought provoking and self reflective. I found myself stopping every so often to discuss with my partner how i or him would have reacted in the same or similar situation. The game keeps holding a mirror in front of your face and makes you think about the things that the characters in the game face themselves. The characters are met with such incredibly complex emotions and situations that make simple "yes no" answer just impossible.
I wasn't happy with the decisions that were made and the characters that were killed/not killed on a personal level but that's the point. on a analytic and professional level I dont have to agree with the choices of other people same as i don't have to agree with the choices that characters make in a video game.
I would probably have reacted differently, but i respect the choices that were made and every death (yes..even THAT one) was a good choice in the context of story telling and motivation for the different consequences that unraveled after those deaths.

Naughty dog made a masterpiece. Its coherent and it is able to pull the player in its gut wrenching story line, that made me unable to pull away from being asked very hard questions that have no clear answer.

I really think people need to get over themselves just because decisions in the game are different from what those players would have decided themselves. I hope naughty dog doesn't deter from making such incredible thought provoking and brave pieces in the future.

Character animations are above anything in video games to date and interact with the environment. Great rope physics.

Gameplay, level design, sequences: 9/10 poorly paced gameplay segments. Amazing accessibility options. great scavenge, upgrade, combat gameplay loop. Hidden areas to explore to upgrade faster. Open world hubs towards beginning of game. Some simple neat puzzles. Some of the best 3rd person shooter combat of all time. Amazing AI. Last of us combat features no hip fire, some stun when you get hit, heavy weapon sway, low fire rate, slightly slow aiming down sights all to make it feel more grounded. So it may not be for everyone. It's not extremely innovative from the first game rather mostly fixed and more challenging on higher difficultues. You also play as another character half way through which makes you have to restart the upgrading. A few memerable sequences including some chases, escapes, skyscrapers, and boss fights.

Story: 5/10 poorly paced by adding flashbacks and skipping time. Characters motivated by petty revenge which is very hard to sympathize with. A lot of choices ellie and abby make or the way they act seem very inconsistent. With the way they all of a sudden feel remorse or let eachother live. Main character from the first game dies. That alone ruins the story for many people and was completely unnessacary.

Laura Bailey and Ashley Johnson give the performances of their lives. Everytime Troy Baker's Joel appears is an incredible moment of delight and this story teaches you to dwell with how far one goes and what terrible things one commits in the pursuit of injustice to those which are close to you. I am so incredibly happy that this game was able to handle this discussion expertly and maturely. By the end of the game, I ended up sobbing. Not because I wanted Ellie to kill Abby, or vice versa but because I had seen these characters experience so much suffering that you just wanted them to stop. 'When you're lost for the darkness, look for the light'. I am forever grateful that Ellie found the light at the very end, even if it cost her, her largest fear. Ending up alone. The production is insane, the sound design is insane, the music is beyond me. This is the best step that video games have taken to prove that this medium is the best out there, and we can tell stories which deeply impact us. If by the end, you think that Joel's death wasn't done right or that he deserved a better death, then I am sorry to say that you haven't really understood or Naughty Dog failed to communicate to you how unjust death, life and this world is. No one is ever ready for the death of a loved one. It's never right, and it always hurts. When you lose someone, you can surely lose yourself. Everything is so good. (Some of the pacing, while I could understand, didn't rub me the right way. Abby Day 1 intro in particular. I think that they could've had the truck ride lead them over to the camp to meet Isaac instead of taking the whole long detour since the player isn't going to be paying too much attention because of the shock value of realizing you're playing as Abby for 3 days)

I enjoyed every second of it. First i want to say I haven't even bothered watching any of the slander against last of us 2 from these R***** ass youtubers because its getting all these kids, who haven't even played the game giving such strong opinions they're starting to sound like the sjw **** they're "fighting against". In no way did the game make me gay or push any agenda on me other than to slaughter the **** out of everyone for revenge. abbys part of the story was amazing and it was an interesting point of view. spending the whole first half the game killing all these people only to learn who everyone is in the 2nd half was really interesting. and you learn who abby is and why she has spent like her whole life since her dad died bulking up just waiting for the day. so in a way she wanted and deserved her revenge more than ellie. so im happy the way it ended. i really dont know why everyone expected a happy ending like this whole series hasn't been video game game of thrones with the way people die and sad **** happens. IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE OR ENJOYED THE FIRST GAME PLAY THIS GAME.. The game play itself is improved in every way from the first game and as much as i love it i dont know if i could go back with all the missing features. my biggest and maybe only complaint is lack of multiplayer because the fist game had something special. with the new elements like jumping and prone i could see it being even crazier so hopefully it comes soon. this game is something everyone should experience its a true emotional roller coaster.
