    After some scenes were leaked I joined the hate bandwagon. I genuinely believed the story was a mess and criticised the game and its creators without even going over the whole story.

    I've just completed the playthrough and I'm ashamed of all the hate I gave Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann. The game was actually frickin' incredible.     I've just completed the playthrough and I'm ashamed of all the hate I gave Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann. The game was actually frickin' incredible. The storyline was multilayered, thrilling, shocking and profound. The characters (along with their dialogues and relationships) were organic, human and didn't feel unnecessary. The graphics were bordering on next-gen. The stealth mechanics were a huge improvement from the first game (which was nearly perfect in its own right).

    To anyone who thinks Naughty Dog failed, play the game or watch a playthrough online before you judge the story based on a few disjointed scenes.

    O jogo é sensacional, visto por seus gráficos, jogabilidade e a história que nos imerge totalmente nela, mostrando também o lado da antagonista do game e seus motivos para fazer aquilo que eu acredito que gerou bastante revolta de parte dos consumidores do jogo. Porém, acredito que a maior das análises negativas sejam por puro preconceito pelo jogo apresentar personagens lésbicas, trans eO jogo é sensacional, visto por seus gráficos, jogabilidade e a história que nos imerge totalmente nela, mostrando também o lado da antagonista do game e seus motivos para fazer aquilo que eu acredito que gerou bastante revolta de parte dos consumidores do jogo.     Despite what people say, this game has the best gameplay. And you need to play till the end to see how you feel about the plot. I hated it at first but loved it at the end.

I never cried that hard on a game's cutscene, even the Title scene made me teared up. The Gameplay is really long and sometimes it gets boring, that's why i play 2-3 hours everyday. The storytelling is pretty weird. It's not what i expected when i bought the game.
    The leaks are pretty disturbing, I think Naughty Dogs made the Trailers different by adding Joel in "that one scene" is probably because they want to keep it a secret that Joel died in the game. I feel like the story is focusing more on Abby than Ellie, which what i thought the game was about Ellie. I won't say that the game is straight up garbage, but the story is not what i expected at all even though is really unique. It's not really that bad.    … Expand

    Spectacular game, even more of an emotional journey than the first. Near-flawless gameplay aside, the story challenges you at every turn and will surely only be more enriching on a second play-through. Coming here to see all the negative user reviews is a massive surprise, but some cursory glances show they were written by people who failed to understand the themes of the first game.

    So the game is not a 10 points game, but overall is a really REALLY good game with a complicated end-of-story.
    It is NOT a 3 Game or 2 game for god's sake at the end every think starts making sense.

People love Walking dead as one of the best post-apocalyptic franchize, I love it as well. Why people hate this game, and still say TWD’s best seasons are the 5th and 6th. Death of the main character is one of the moments people love in GOT or TWD. This game is much more deep and mature. Ať the beginning, you think Abby is absolutelly worst character in this story, she’s ugly and IT doesn’t make any sense to have this new playable character around. But after 20 hours of playing, you create a bound to her, and in a final fight against Ellie, you are devastated because you love both of them. This game is a great continuation of our beloved first TLOU game. I want to thank Naughty dog for making this art.… Expand

    One of the best, if not the best game i ever played. Graphics, gameplay, voice acting, story, everything is done perfectly. Naughy Dog have done the impossible: A sequel that managed to be better than its already amazing first game. Bravo, Naughy Dog.

Pourtant bien difficile de faire mieux que le premier opus, naughty dog ont mis la barre haute, mais alors très très haute. Un réalisme de couleurs et de gameplay époustouflant, une histoire prenante et captivante faisant appel à plusieurs de nos sentiments, notamment la haine, le chagrin, la culpabilité, et j'en passe. La mort de Joël a été très dur pour tout le monde. Mais ce passage est selon moi, l'un des plus fort moments qu'un jeu vidéo ne m'a jamais fait ressentir. Donc pour cela, je les remercie. Je les remercie de leur travail si minutieux, de leur talent à surprendre le joueur à tout moments. 7 ans d'attente. Nous avons enfin pu y jouer, et je suis conquis. Chaque personnage est intéressant, nous distinguons avec facilité leurs émotions. Durant ce jeu, j'étais très clairement dans la peau d'Ellie. Bravo au studio d'avoir réussi à nous faire vivre un moment comme celui-ci. La ps4 ne pouvait pas être clôturée par un meilleur jeu.… Expand

    Honestly I doubt I’ll get to play a better game than this one. Adult, coherent and emotional story. Magnificently written and different to what we are used to play. Definitely worth every hour and it will let you thinking about it for several days after you finish it. Тем кто на пол пути решит отложить джойстик, советуем так не делать, а дать игре показать себя, пусть вам и не нравится допустим персонаж, за которого вы играете, в последствии вы даже сочувствовать будете персонажу, если не поддерживать. Нестандартная подача сюжета интересна тем что игра показываетВеликолепная игра. Очень интересная подача сюжета, нестандартная, держит тебя в напряжении. Тем кто на пол пути решит отложить джойстик, советуем так не делать, а дать игре показать себя, пусть вам и не нравится допустим персонаж, за которого вы играете, в последствии вы даже сочувствовать будете персонажу, если не поддерживать. Нестандартная подача сюжета интересна тем что игра показывает что у любого персонажа есть две стороны, как меняется характер и действия персонажа в процессе событий и ситуаций перенесённых им. To be honest it is a very good representation of real life, and bare with me until i explain my point. In real life bad things happen for no reason, to good people, to bad people, to people we love and hate. Life does not wait until we are ready to face the difficulties if we will ever be.. we have all lost people (sometimes in seemingly unfair and humiliating ways like Joel who deserved a more heroic death but life didn't provide it for him ) who we loved and we all know how devastating searching for reason is in a world without reason, so i respect a game who manages to make me feel so deeply even a terrible feeling as that of losing someone and feeling hopeless and unjust about it. As for the the decisions the characters make throw the game that some times seemed out of character i believe the help to color the humanity of each person, i prefer a character who has inner conflicts of values and desires and because of that are unpredictable rather than a character who is predictable and already fully established. I believe this game is a (sad) piece of art for a different reason than the 1st one, and for sure it does not deserve a 0 . Anyway thanks for taking the time to read this… Expand

    I am not done yet, I only played like 3 hours but my god this was some of the best time in my gaming live ever (34 yr old). Never has gaming been just close to this immersive experience. I just finished part 1 and the ending left me with a bad feeling. "A huge lie and terrible stupid mistake, that will hunt him down one day" was my thought. I just noticed, that many people read or saw our heard leaks about the story. To make clear, after the first E3 trailer of tlou2 I knew I would buy it and sometimes followed some news about it. But I simply didn't notice any leaks, because I didn't want to be cheated! I mean it's up to you to read or not read the leaks, isn't it? This game is a masterpiece, don't be fooled by the review bombers! This game is not about a happy ending which real life simply doesn't know. Nobody who ever realized him or herself expects a happy end for their life. This game is about real life in a fictional post-apocalyptic world. It never gets any closer to reality than this! Oh, and to the homophobic **** out there, karma will get your sorry **** asses as well. Thumbs up naughtydog and the overworked employees, you created memorable art!… Expand

But it’s voice is very unique which I respect a lot in the modern gaming landscape (of sequels) that often just takes the obvious safe route. The technical quality of the game is awe inspiring. The art, animation, controls, audio, quality of coding and qualityA truly outstanding masterpiece of storytelling. The Last of Us Part II is brutal and relentless and it does not let you off easy. But it’s voice is very unique which I respect a lot in the modern gaming landscape (of sequels) that often just takes the obvious safe route. The technical quality of the game is awe inspiring. The art, animation, controls, audio, quality of coding and quality assurance, you name it. Everything has been done with such care for details that I feel very fortunate to having been able to play through this game. The story really hit me in the feels and I ended up crying a couple of times - and feeling sorry for people who don’t get to experience this due to ”not liking video games”.     I really don't understand why people are giving this a bad review. It's some of the best storytelling in a video game ever, and the gameplay is excellent, period. All the controversy about the work hours or sexual harassments shouldn't give the game a bad score. A great game is a great game! Easy a 10/10

    Hab es heute durchgespielt und finde den Verlauf der Story Mega gut ... die Dramaturgie wirkt aufgrund der geschehenen Ereignisse besonders auch in den Rückblenden, Ich bin mega begeistert und finde es hat diesen Hate zu keinster Weise verdient. Schon alleine die Details in dem Spiel sind einfach der Wahnsinn

Teniendo a dos protagonistas que sufren por lo mismo, una pérdida importante mediante un camino de odio, venganza que las lleva a perder absolutamente todo. La evolución de ambas protagonistas de forma paralela a los acontecimientos. La capacidad de redención y perdón ante todo lo vivido, de cortar el ciclo para tener un mínimo de luz al final del camino.Para no seguir sufriendo y hacer sufrir a pesar de las pérdidas. Quienes sólo se han quedando con “UNA HISTORIA DE VENGANZA SIN VENGANZA” no se han enterado ni del juego ni de su propuesta.
    Más allá de lo gore, cruel, crudo o explícito que puede ser el juego,Naughty Dog ha hecho algo que creo que nadie antes ha hecho (por lo menos no a este nivel) es que el juego que en ocasiones es bastante incómodo de jugar y de ver, al igual que hay películas, libros u obras de teatro que son incómodas de ver y leer. Lo fácil hubiera sido hacer una historia fan service y todos felices pero han decidido tomar este otro camino y me parece algo bastante valiente. Por supuesto esto es algo que no gusta a todo el mundo y me parece perfectamente entendible, pero hay una diferencia entre eso y proclamar automáticamente que el juego es un mal producto. Mientras que lo que ocurre tenga lógica, esté justificado, no tengamos fallos de guión, los personajes estén bien escritos y sus relaciones sean creíbles, creo que no se puede decir esté mal hecho. Dejando aparte que el juego subjetivamente pueda gustar más o menos, me parece una decisión bastante valiente y una decisión bastante importante para que la industria pueda avanzar (al menos a nivel narrativo). Una obra que por lo menos cualquier persona que se diga ser amante de los videojuegos (ya que cuenta con un excelente gameplay) y de las historias bien contadas debe probar.    … Expand

Mas no final tudo foi em vão, pois em certo ponto o protagonista, que antes tudo o que enxergava era vingança, e agora se encontra cheio de remorso e tristeza, muda de opinião e decide tomar outro caminho. O tanto de emoção que senti nesse jogo, tenho certeza que não vou sentir o mesmo jogando alguma outra coisa por muito tempo. Este juego me hizo vivir emociones muy fuertes y llegué a sentir algo similar a lo que viví hace muchos años al jugar shadow of the Colossus... Jugando con un personaje que sabes que está haciendo algo mal pero al fin y al cabo creando empatía con dicho personaje.
    Para los que se quejan de la inclusión déjenme decirles que vivimos en pleno siglo XXI en dónde temas como la homosexualidad, las drogas, o la vida sexual etc son algo común y corriente, y le están prestando más atención a estos temas comunes que a los temas que realmente quiere exponer el equipo de naghty dog.
    El único "pero" que tengo con éste juego es la duración de la campaña con Abby ya que es algo larga sin embargo se nota el esfuerzo del estudio en pulir cada detalle y por eso le aplaudo y le otorgo un 10.    … Expand

The moral in the game is gray: emotional slides throughout the game will show that the villain can be loved and the hero hated. This is a true masthead for console owners and a drop of gold in the ocean of mediocre games. The story reached its logical conclusion and allowed the heroes to go along this exciting adventure together with the players.

It's not the story most of the players imagined, but you can't blame the writers for doing something that does not align with your imagination. For me it worked perfectly. I see many people saying that Joel would never have trusted Abby in the first place, but you must take into consideration that he has gotten cozy in Jackson for the last 4 years. He saw a young girl in danger and he helped her. Ellie has changed him. Joel's death is the perfect drive for the story. It is still horrible, but the story in The last of us was never a happy one. To expect them to live happily ever after is not realistic. Joel has done awful things in those 25 years. And in the end he faces the consequences. When the writers decided to make you play as Abby for half of the game, they knew the players will be angry at first. That's the point. But you get to see things from her perspective. Nothing is black and white. By the end of the second half of the game i sympathized with Abby. I didn't really wan't her dead at the end. The characters and story were well written.
    As for the gameplay, it was amazing. The action is very satisfying. Every mechanic, well thought out. Sound design, voice acting, animation - all perfect.
    In the end the leaks managed to turn the fans against the game without offering almost any context for the things that happen. It's a shame that many won't even try the game and instead will continue to take in all the negative reviews from the internet. It is something you have to experience yourself.

    In my opinion, what makes the first entry so good was the breaking of stereotypes and the deep care for its characters. This game does that as good or even better. It makes you feel desperated and anxious at first just to make the player feel disorientated, without knowing what to do or to think or what to expect. Then everything changes and you enter in a storm of emotions just to realize everything has a reason, even though we may not like it.

    Was this game worth it? YES, every minute I've played it (around 30h just in one playthrough) and every cent I've spent. If you are searching for a stroy that makes you THINK and an appeling but brutal and cruel world, this is your game. If you want a game with the story you already have in your mind, go for another one, this is not for you.    … Expand

Slowly but surely we don't see her as a 2d character but one that has hopes and wishes and flaws and strength. There are some really heart wrenching scenes and gameplay which aren't suppose to make you feel goody and such. It was planning on making you feel like the character. They managed to do this so well in the first one and managed to do it here as well. The gameplay really got a lot better, one of the things I found to be a bit mediocre in the first one. The graphics are stellar and overall the story kept me wanting to know more and see where this was headed. I couldn't wait to get home and play it. It challenged me, made me sad, angry, happy, disgusted. I do recommend it wholeheartedly. I haven't had this range of emotions and in any game or movie for a long time. The bad reviews that came out the 19th of June should be taken with a lot of skepticism since there is no way that they can have grasped the full range of it all. I can see that you either hate or love this and the middle ground is pretty thin on this one. For me this was a great game which I will come back to and play again.… Expand

Realmente é magnífico...essa franquia me trouxe emoções nunca sentidas em um game anteriormente No primeiro jogo quando entrei na sala de cirurgia controlando Joel ...eu entrei com Raiva e com vontade de matar aqueles médicos ...mesmo que aparentemente eu podeira deixá-los vivos em um primeiro momento eu não pensei duas vezes matei eles ..como se tivesse realmente salvando a Ellie ....essa sensação nunca tinha sentido jogando algo ...na parte dois quando descobri que a Abby era filha do médico ...falei putz ..e quando percebi que eu iria controlar ela ...e conhecer a história dela ...eu pensei vai dar merda .....cara que montanha russa (esses caras da naugthy dogs são uns FDP) nunca ninguém fez nada parecido.     A landmark for story telling in any form of cinema, character development is just, wow. I have never cared as much for a fictional character as I have for Joel, never felt so conflicted about a protagonist’s decisions and never ever have I empathised so much with an ‘antagonist’.
    Much like the human experience, nothing about it is easy.
    In fact I believe it to have set a new precedent for NPC difficulty and AI.
    the game is gorgeous and lovingly filled with treasures from past beloved naughty dog games. I enjoyed every single moment of my 24 hour play through. This game shines through its contrast and parallels. Light and dark, lush green and concrete, guttural violence and gorgeous vistas, somber moments and unencumbered elation. All the while highlighting, the grey of it all. Constantly reminding us that we aren’t all that different, that we share pain and loss as the human race. Cannot speak more highly of the game. Anybody who’s thinking twice before getting TLOU2, my advice would be - get it, and you’ll never forget it.    … Expand

There were multiple points that I just wanted to put down the controller and not push through. I'm so glad I didn't do that, because it was worth every second of pain to finish it.

    This is the game nobody expected it to be, after a week of thinking of the game. I want to play it again. The more I watch Or play the game the more I’m getting attached to the characters. The gameplay is just as good as the first game, if not better. They know how to pace the game well, in every fight it feels like every bullet matters and you’re on the edge of your seat.

Mas eu dei uma chance sabe, e decidi ter minha própria opinião sobre o jogo. E digo que valeu a pena, mas minha experiência não foi uma maravilha.

    E eu não digo isso porque o jogo é ruim. The Last Of Us Part 2 é facilmente um dos melhores dessa geração, mas a história é triste, e o final não é nem um pouco reconfortante. Pra falar a verdade, o jogo inteiro é desse jeito e são poucos os momentos que o jogador se sente "seguro". Se fosse pra resumir a história eu diria que é dor, tristeza, dor, angústia, dor e mais um pouquinho de dor. É um jogo que vai te tirar da zona de conforto e te botar em situações horríveis. E se você como eu amou o primeiro jogo e se apegou aos personagens, essas situações vão ser dolorosas de se jogar.

    Sobre a gameplay, é diferente. Ela é divertida pra *****. Se por um lado a história te deixa triste, a gameplay faz o contrário. É muito satisfatório esmagar cabeças e cortar gargantas. A violência gráfica é tão absurda que lembra Mortal Kombat. E o jogo dá diversas opções sobre como você irá lidar com um grupo de inimigos. Existem árvores de habilidade que desbloqueiam novos caminhos para os jogadores, e o interessante é que dependendo da dificuldade os recursos podem se tornar muito escassos, obrigando os jogadores a explorarem todos esses caminhos. Mas independente da sua preferência de como passar dos inimigos, a inteligência artificial recebeu um enorme upgrade, as pessoas desse jogo estão bem mais inteligentes, e tem um comportamento bem humano. Sobre os outros inimigos, os que se destacam são os cachorros que irão fazer sua vida um inferno caso tente passar despercebido. E sim, você será obrigado e matá-los e assim como o jogo não alivia na morte dos humanos, é assim com os cachorros também. O jogo também adicionou 2 novos tipos de infectados que também são um pé no saco e vai dificultar teu combate.

    Apesar disso o jogo não se resume todo a combate, uma boa parcela dele será coletar recursos e explorar cenários, assim como o primeiro jogo. E os cenários desse jogo são de tirar o fôlego. Os gráficos então, dispensam comentários. Eu nunca vi um jogo tão lindo nessa questão, tecnicamente impecável.

A trilha sonora é simplesmente sensacional (Gustavo Santaolalla não deixa nada a desejar), a ambientação é impecável, os gráficos muito bem trabalhados e o level design complexo e bem planejado (mas isso vocês já sabem). A história do jogo é simplesmente incrível, mostrando que há sempre dois lados de uma mesma moeda, e é por isso que devemos aplaudir o estúdio e os roteiristas de The Last Of Us II. Criar uma personagem como a Abby não é coisa simples. Vemos a personagem simplesmente destruir o protagonista do primeiro jogo e, em um primeiro momento, a raiva é inevitável, mas é aí que o game surpreende. Forçar o jogador a utilizar uma pessoa com que ele não compactua é simplesmente genial. Somos obrigados a analisar uma outra perspectiva e visão de mundo, dessa vez na pele do grupo de antigos vagalumes. Após jogar com a abby, criei uma empatia pela personagem e percebi que tomar partido em um universo tão complexo é algo extremamente precipitado. A profundidade da narrativa mostra que não existe coisa como bem ou mal e que sempre há dois lados de uma mesma moeda.     I am a huge Last of Us fan and I thoroughly enjoyed this game! The graphics, environments and game play are everything I wanted from this game. The fighting can be crazy fun and intense at times. There are tons of cut scenes, but necessary to tell the complex story. Some call it cliche, I call it realistic. No one can predict another person's reaction and the characters in the Last of UsI am a huge Last of Us fan and I thoroughly enjoyed this game!     I want to preface this review by disclosing that I don't understand when people say this game is "meant to be not enjoyable" and/or pointless as a game. This is not a joyless and fully uncomfortable experience that reviews on both sides of the rating spectrum have described it as. Yes, it has a considerably darker and grimmer tone and the characters are put through an emotional ringer, butI want to preface this review by disclosing that I don't understand when people say this game is "meant to be not enjoyable" and/or pointless as a game. This is not a joyless and fully uncomfortable experience that reviews on both sides of the rating spectrum have described it as. Yes, it has a considerably darker and grimmer tone and the characters are put through an emotional ringer, but what makes a story enjoyable is not necessarily likability and audience comfort, but a compelling narrative that is investing and thoughtful. A film like Logan (which many fans have compared to the first game), is also equally harrowing and heartbreaking but I find it very difficult to say the best Wolverine film is somehow not enjoyable or pointless to watch because it'll make the viewer feel sad. Both Logan and The Last of Us were praised for not only being exciting but also presenting a darker tone that challenged their audiences to see the action genre with more thought-provoking themes on human nature instead of simply violence or triumph over opposition. So it surprises me that The Last of Us Part II has been hated for continuing these same strengths but with greater stride.

    The Last of Us Part II is expertly written and performed, challenges the characters in new ways, and makes the story world feel even bigger and more complex than before. It is not a complete departure from the first game, as impactful decisions made in the first game lead effortlessly into greater consequences in the sequel. It even includes some standout flashback sequences that beautifully stitch the two games together. The biggest controversy surrounding this game is its unconventional choice of dual protagonists. People have been very polarized by the choices made here, but I feel this decision only highlights what makes this game so thoughtfully constructed. This franchise has never been a direct explanation of right from wrong. Or about characters getting what they want or deserve. It depicts its characters with all the messiness and flaws that come with being human. The way these new storylines converge is so subtle yet powerful, giving extra weight to an already engrossing narrative. Characters initially seen as enemies or an objective are suddenly well-rounded characters with their own desires. A story that was jumpstarted by hate and revenge grows into the desire to learn empathy and forgiveness. Themes that are not too foreign for this franchise to explore, given that Abby and Lev's story is a clear and touching parallel to Joel and Ellie's in the first game. This is one of the few narratives I've experienced that felt integral to the medium of videogames, because a movie or tv show could not have so immersively let me live through both characters in such a way.

    And speaking of the game's mechanics, The Last of Us Part II is a powerhouse of gameplay and graphics. Instead of repeating the same grey color palettes seen in every post-apocalypse, the game dives into so many different eye-popping colors per location. Undoubtedly worthy of its photo-mode inclusion. The motion capture performances are as phenomenal and impressive as something you would see in a high-budget movie. The combat is gripping, with countless ways to approach each scenario, spacially and by play-style. Exploration feels deeper and more rewarding; not starved for resources, but not populated enough to make you feel invincible. In the first game, I had fun with the gunplay but was mainly excited to get to the next cutscene. Here, they each became highlights of their own regard.

    I really do think that as time passes and people forget about the leaks and controversy surrounding it, more and more people will open up to this game or discover it for themselves. It's unfortunately just not for everyone, but I'm glad its creators have stood by it and are rightfully proud of their work. Their efforts were not lost by me, and I'll be thinking about this game for a very long time.    … Expand

The Last of Us Part II is an emotional rollercoaster. Things happen that you wish didn’t, characters make heartbreaking decisions that inevitably have tragic consequences. A lot of fans seem to be mad about the story. Unfortunately in life, and it seems in post-apocalyptic futures, things are complicated. We all have our own goals and ambitions, and sometimes this can lead to conflict with others. This game wonderfully illustrates that just because we might dislike someone we’re not necessarily better than them or more right. I personally loved playing as Abby and seeing events from her perspective. As her section progressed I began to see her as right and Ellie as wrong. I didn’t know who to root for at the end. And the writers deserve a huge amount of credit for that. The game is visually stunning. The world they have built over at Naughty Dog is nothing short of miraculous. The gameplay is fine, although sometimes I found my NPC allies getting in the way a bit. Some of the fights are incredibly intense. In general I’m a sneak and kill player, as you have to be at times in this world to look after your resources. But there are certain fights you can’t avoid. The sequence in the lower floors of the hospital were truly terrifying, but completely exhilarating. The kind of gameplay that you can’t wait to finish but then instantly want to have a go at again once you’ve done it. To wrap up, if you’re mad about the story then you’ve missed the point in my opinion. Ellie and Joel are not saints. They’ve done some terrible things to survive. Same goes for Abby. She is no worse than them, and they are no better than her. And if it’s the LGBT stuff or the abundance of non-white characters in the game that has angered you, then it’s about time you joined the rest of us in the 21st Century. I thought Lev’s storyline in particular was fantastic. No if you excuse me, I need a lie down before my next play through!… Expand

    The game is obviously divided and I'm not going to get into this because I feel like it's pretty clear. There are many people who honestly hated it and others who honestly loved it. Both are ok but what I have a problem with is those who bombed it (or counter bombed it for that matter). Maybe we'll never have a honest take on how people feel about this game. All I can tell is I loved it.

    I'm a huge fan of the first game so my bias is no less (but no worse) than those who hate gratuitously and even though I feel like they made some very bold choices with this one, I'm more than satisfied. The story was my favorite part. I lived quite a bit through the characters. I was shocked more than once and forced to feel empathy, sadness, pain and many more through the lives of those characters. I lived in their skin and the journey was quite the experience. I'm on my second playthrough. I'm not a bot review lifiting the game. Anyway, I'm not here to spoil the game and I don't want people to live it the way I did. I'm just a little annoyed by all the negative reviews shaming people like me for loving it and making us feel like we don't have a brain because of it. For the record, I'm a caucasian heterosexual male in his 30s and I don't feel like this should be said but here it goes.

    The gameplay was a great upgrade on the first game but it doesn't reinvent the wheel. I give it 8/10 simply because shooting it so painful but I'm a pc gamer anyway. It's still much better than the previous game. Many upgrades in animations and movement, stealth has been upgraded and everything feels like you can regret your decisions much more. If the game had stayed the same as TLOU, I'd give it a 5/10 and I'm a huge fan but man, they upgraded it. I do feel the gameplay stays truthful to itself, I'm just not a fan of it. Maybe I'd change my mind if the game was keyboard and mouse compatible, but I digress.

    All this to say, if the social themes aren't thing that are bound to hurt you, I say give this masterpiece a chance and give it a FULL chance. Don't be stopped by the beginning of it, play through the full thing and appreciate it for the piece of art that it is. Be a freethinker and don't let others, even me, tell you what to do with it. Just, play it yourself and see for yourself.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have NEVER written a review for any game before and I definitely pride myself in being a gamer. I played The Last of Us part 1, which I understand why people may hold part 2 to a higher standard.

    However. The last of us 2 was a masterpiece. I laughed, I cried, I felt anger, but more importantly the story was fascinating to watch. I'm not sure why people are hopping on the same train and critiszing the game but in my opinion it's clear to see it's because of the main female lead or #LGBTQ+ incorporation. Which either way doesn't take away form the fantastic game that it is. WOW. I was completely mind blown.

    There were times my mouth hit the floor, times I cried with Ellie, but I believe even the ending was perfect. It may not have been the ending many have wanted, but I felt that the story GRANTED that ending. Seeing Abby depleted on the cross--wow. That was a speechless moment. I hope you give the real fans a sequel. Because as a fan of RPG's and post-apocalyptic games like Resident Evil (I've played every one) I have to say that The Last of Us pretty much did a better post-apocalyptic game than they did!!!    … Expand

    brilliant game and the perfect follow up to the original. I cam see the different sides to people loving it and people not so much. Once you play it to the very end you realise something more than just a game. It's truly a work of art

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
