This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the best looking game on PS4 right now no other game has better graphic than it. The amount of detail that went into the game is crazy you walk pass a tree with snow on it and the snow falls off the footprint in the snow or when you kill someone in water the way the blood will spread in the water looks so beautiful and realistic. I love the story of this game I think Joel got the story he deserved in this game. I think killing Joel off was the right thing to do as his story of redemption is done if they kept Joel alive and did what they did in the first game they would be milking the cow dry. I think the way Abby killed Joel was the perfect way for the story she killed him in such a brutal way that it make us as the player so angry that we want to go and kill Abby in the slowest way possible. Walking through Joel's house was one of the saddest parts of the game as we saw that Joel had a life he had hobbies. Then when we set of to Seattle to hunt down Abby and her friends we are so to kill her and her friends for what they did to joel. I like how on the way we find people who were in Jackson when Joel got killed been beaten to death by Tommy. Then as we get further on on the game and we start to kill WLF soldiers and we hear their friends crying out there names it then starts to take and emotional effect on us as we then realize all these people we are killing have a life have a family and hobbies just like joel. I love the flashback parts of the game with Ellie and Joel they were the best bits of the whole game. Then when we get to the second half of the game and we have to play as Abby I was like why God why I don't want to play as Abby but I picked up the controller and carried on playing as I started to play with Abby more and more I really started to like her and her friends and got really close to them and when we find them dead because Ellie killed them I would feel really upset about. Then when we find out that the head surgeon who Joel killed in the first game was Abby dad when then feel really bad for Abby and realize why she killed Joel in such a brutal way. I love the story of Abby and Lev on how Abby fells like now it her job to protect Lev and teach him how to stay safe in this world. Then when we got to the farm house after Abby killed Jesse and nearly killed Tommy, Dina and Ellie we then see Ellie and Dina are living in a farm house together with Dina and Jesse baby who they called JJ like most people I thought it was going to end here and Ellie and Dina would live happily ever after but then Elle goes into to shed to heard sheep up and one lamb knock over a spade and Ellie and flashback of Joel death so we learn that Joel's death is still consuming Ellie. When we saw Tommy came and visited Ellie and Dina and told Ellie about Abbie's where abouts and Dina say she not doing that anymore then later that night Ellie get ready to set off to find Abby and Dina say if she leave Dina won't be back waiting for her. I felt really sad learning that revenge has totally overthinking Ellie life. Then when we cut back to Abby and Lev and they make contact with fireflies and then they get kidnapped by rattlers and I started to worry about Thier safety then when Ellie find Abby and Lev and cut them down and we see Abby and lost her normal muscular physique and she now skinny and weak we really start to feel bad for her. Then when Ellie demand Abby that they fight to the death and put her knife to Lev throat we are like Ellie no let them go and then when Abby and Ellie start fighting even though Abby didn't want to and then when Ellie was drowning Abby and Abby bit Ellie fingers off and the as Ellie was drowning Abby and got a flashback to Joel and let Abby up to breathe and let Abby live was so happy that Ellie realize that revenge doesn't do any good all that would happen is someone would hunt Ellie to kill her for killing abby. Then when Ellie got back to the farm house and couldn't play her guitar and had a flashback to her and Joel last conservation and we learn that Ellie was going to try and forgive Joel it made me feel really sad for Ellie and we learn that Ellie biggest fear has now become true her alone now and off to Jackson to try and fix her relationship with Dina. One of the best ending to any video game in my opinion Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Absolutely a masterpiece! This game has brought so many emotions and the flashbacks really add to the story. Yes, I can see why some people are upset but there's no reason to give it a 0/10. SPOILERS BELOW! The game is gorgeous and Joel's death is possibly the only reason why Ellie would go on such a journey once again.

Finally, at first I too didn't like Abby. However, as you get to progress through her story, you see that both Ellie's and Abby's story are a parallel of each other. As for the ending, I liked it. The cycle of violence is broken now, Ellie won't be chased down by Lev now that she didn't kill Abby. I enjoyed the game a lot and there are some absolutely beautiful and wholesome moments.

After finding out who killed their father, both of them go for revenge, without caring for the other ones who their acts will affect.
In my opinion, the game is one of the best I played because the way it makes you connect with both characters. It tries to make you feel what Ellie and Abby feels so you, as a player, can put in their shoes for a while and know that in the game (and in life) there are no good and bad, it's all grey, middle point, depending wich point of view you want to see.

An incredible experience. Always been a huge fan of TLOU since it first came out. I loved both the main game and Left Behind and played them both several times to platinum the game. I loved both the main game and Left Behind and played them both several times to platinum the game. I have always considered TLOU to be my favourite game and scrawled through every nook and cranny to find every detail possible for it. I recently just got a platinum on TLOUII and I loved every minute of it. It was honestly one of the most emotional games I’ve ever played. It made me feel emotions that I have never felt in any other type of game. I’ve barely felt some of the emotions I’ve felt playing this game with some movies. It made me cry, laugh, tense, vindictive and remorseful, one emotion after the other. It was honestly such an emotional rollercoaster. When I finished the game, I couldn’t sleep properly for two nights over the emotions I felt. The music is unbelievable, which was always to be expected. It definitely helped with controlling my emotions. The graphics are out of this world. I have a Basic PS4, and it ran so smoothly with breath taking sceneries. The details are everything. I thought RDR2 took it to the next level but TLOUII ran with their ideas and elevated it even further. The hidden details, nods and metaphors to the first game were incredible. The character development was something else entirely. I really felt like I connected with these characters over time. No character trait or flaw was without reasoning. Even though this game doesn’t spell out every detail to you, it didn’t have to if you paid attention to the game, the background and the characters, the notes, etc. The acting and voice acting was nothing like I’ve ever seen before. Ashley Johnson blew me away with her acting for Ellie and brought it to the next level for me. The story, which is the controversial part here, was exactly the direction I expected them to take since I’ve dreamt of there being a sequel and it didn’t disappoint. It took my expectations and brought it to such an amazing place. The contrast between emotions being felt in the moment and the flashbacks were such a nice contrast, as well as being such heartfelt and deep moments to the story. There’s other things to note where they elevated the game: the combat was a huge improvement, the upgrades (both player and workbenches), stealth was a bigger focus and was more hashed out, the puzzles were improved, the AI was incredible and as a person with a disability, the accessibility was so touching to see. And there is so much
More than could be added to this list. I don’t think I will ever experience a game like this again. But I hope I will.

I loved that TLOU2 felt very much like the first one, but with some small tweaks like improved melee combat, some new weapons, enemies and abilities. I was extremely impressed by how the difference between Abby and Elie in combat style was presented, I knew I still played the same game, but it felt totally different.

I need to say that graphics are amazing and that the mood is set very well, I really enjoyed running around that post apocalyptic world.

TLOU2 is supposed to make you feel conflicted, angry, sad and in very rare cases happy. This approach in games usually comes across as soulless cliché story, but for me this game did it just right. This game even made my girlfriend cry a few times, which not a lot of games can achieve.

Of course there are some small things that bugged me like some small bug here and there, or some of the character choices that I found rather stupid, but nothing really big.

I'm truly sad that game receives so much hate, because I don't think it deserves it. For all of those who worked on this game I just want to say that you rock and you should be proud of what you achieved and what masterpiece you helped to build. Thank you for this amazing experience.

The game is beautiful graphically it is incredible to see how a PS4 can run that game, the city of Seattle despite not being an open world and not giving you the possibility of going back to a previous point it looks very very big almost as if you were in a real city , the story at the beginning is heartbreaking makes you mourn the death of Joel and makes you want to kill all those responsible, the game talks about revenge and being blinded by it can leave you empty inside and leave you with nothing making you lose what else you want in the end Ellie loses everything and you will feel that Ellie should have been more grateful to Joel. in short it is a game that you have to play if or if to decide if you like it or not since the end may leave you waiting for more but if you pay attention to how the characters feel you will understand what they are going through. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After playing 48 hours, two playthroughs and gaining the platinum trophy I am finally ready to let out my opinion of this conserverial sequel.

Before I get into the negative I will like to start with what I loved about the game.

    1. Ellies half of the game had the most interesting part of the story and best cutscenes. When she gets to bounce off side characters like Dina ( who was one of my favorite side characters) it really showed a great side of Ellie.

    2. Abbys gameplay was the most fun since it was more of my play style. While Ellie sneaks around Abby is an army of one. With a flamethrower, hunting rifle and pipe bombs nothing can stop her. She can literally just punch an infected to death and it is brutal.

    3. The one thing everyone praises this game for even if you just hated it is the graphics. This game is beyond beautiful. The music is always perfect for what's happening.

Now let's get into what I disliked

    1. This game just dragged on and on. It tricked me I believe like three times where I thought I was close to the end oh no I still have 10 hours left alright okay here is the ending nope. Not going to lie got pretty frustrated and just wanted to finish it already. In fact where Ellie and Dina are in that awesome farm house then Tommy comes in telling her where abby was last seen . Honestly I would of been okay with the last scene Ellie going off into the night leaving Dina sad and feeling alone. Then bam alright setting up for the next game.

    2. The actual ending was just anti climatic. Ellie travels two states fights of this evil rattlers frees Abby from dying on the beach lets her grab a boat about to let them go and then goes no can't let you go. Okay has this big fight about to drown her and then was like nah go. Okay go backs to the farmhouse and no duh Dina is gone.

All in all it is not better than the first one and doesn't add much to mechanics/gameplay. I dont think its the worst game this year and I understand where they were going with the whole revenge thing it just didn't quite land.

A philological masterpiece about hate. Naughty Dog takes all the elements that made the first part one of the best games ever made and builds on that achieving nearly perfection.

    -Story:
The story is perfect, it just plays with you from the start to the end. You don't know anything the first half of the game, but later in the game, you began slowly to see that appearances are deceiving and you literally didn't know anything about anything.
It takes you through an emotional roller coaster and when you just think that you know something it just slaps your face and gives you the most amazing revelations filled with deep philosophy. These revelations that you will have when playing The Last Of Us Part 2 are often painful, but true and veracious.

This story is one of the darkest and beautiful game stories that I have ever played. On the outer level, the story appears to be depressing and sad, but once you understand fully the philosophy you began to see that the main core of this marvelous piece of art is filled with hope and love.

The story keeps you immersed through your hole play trough, I often found myself screaming at the TV. If you let the game do its thing and let you transposed to its universe it just feels real, you feel every emotional thing that the characters experience, I found myself having tears in my eyes, cried, being filled with happiness, and those big revelations moments felt like being struck by lighting remaining shocked and stunned.
It can't be explained in words, the only way is to experience it, the number of emotions that you feel, I felt during my play trough are overwhelming. After I finished the game I needed a few days off because I couldn't do anything, the greatness of this masterpiece story left me damaged and could not think about anything else.

    -Graphics
The Graphics are astonishing, this graphical fidelity that The Last Of Us Part II touched, by far, beats every other game ever created. The technical achievements and optimizations are amazing. Naughty Dog made the best looking game ever made on old PS4 hardware. This game spits in the face the PC games that run on much powerful hardware and have mediocre graphics. The attention to detail is exquisite, not a thing is left untaught, the animations, the blood every detail is carefully taught and implemented in the game.

    -Gameplay
The gameplay is another place that this game is achieving the ultimate greatness, like the story, the gameplay is perfect, perfect!. Even if you choose to go stealthy and sneak, or go brute force, or just run past your enemies and flank them and escape, you will encounter the most well-crafted game mechanics ever made. The regular enemy feels like real people, having backstories and names, and the AI that drives them is the most real one that I have ever seen. The weapons have a rewarding feeling and when Ellie uses her knife you see the best killing animations ever accomplished.

    -Sound
Sound effects are well executed and contribute to the overall impressiveness of the game. The weapons sound is different based on the location you are. And again the attention to detail is on the next level on the sound branch. If you are paying attention you can hear Ellie breath, the steps, the backpack that is swinging, the ponds that you step in, everything.

    -Conclusion
In conclusion, I want to tell you that you should unquestionably play The Last Of Us Part II, as it took the whole game expectations and set them up to a whole new level, and lays the foreground on what is to come with the next generation of consoles and video games.

This game is honestly very good. It’s deep and controversial, the story is amazing and something that will stick with you. The game is about choices, and how choices can have serious consequences. There’s two sides to every story so keep that in mind as well.

I'll first give a warning and a review for people who might not like this game. If you don't want to play a game about a female protagonist or you still want to be shielded from "progressive" ideas, don't play this game. It will probably trigger in you the hate that you can see in many of the other comments.

I'll first give a warning and a review for people who might not like this game. If you don't want to play a game about a female protagonist or you still want to be shielded from "progressive" ideas, don't play this game. It will probably trigger in you the hate that you can see in many of the other comments.

But if you're looking for an experience that will transform you at the core, and play a game that is essentially a perfect creation, pick up and play it. I also suggest avoiding spoilers or people talking about the story, this game is played best when experienced without prior judgement.

So why is it perfect? Well, it polished just about every aspect of the original game, and turned all the dials to 11.
ART - The art is truly phenomenal, it will make you really appreciate the PS4's Photo Mode so you could capture and later revisit all the stunning sights. The lighting in this game is so harmoniously mixed with the 3D modeling giving you just a feeling of grandeur from every environment. The team really outdid themselves here and deserve all the praise they get for it.

ANIMATIONS - A story, a really good story, needs us to feel the humans telling it, and the animation is a critical feature in feeling emotions and a truly living world. Part 1 had great animations, but still felt like a game. Here, at certain points it felt like watching a movie with live actors. You could see the emotion pierce through the 3D model and see straight into the voice actors playing the parts. The movement of the eyes, the lingering positions of the head, the small movement of the hand unable to compose itself.
And the animations remain fantastic in the gameplay itself, you really feel like you're part of the world and moving through it. You interact with the world around you, and it interacts back with you.
And every character has their own animation, their own movement and their behaviors throughout this world, so they truly feel unique.

ENEMIES - The enemy AI might not feel all the way there yet, but it's as close as i've seen a game gets it. Enemies care about one another, so much as they yell out the name of the person you just killed, giving them a face and a name and giving gravity to your actions. They're also aware of when you reload, what you're hiding behind and they make attempts to cornering you and forcing you to run instead of fight in many of the encounters.
This is not a game where you can just stand in one place and snipe all your enemies, you need to plan, you need to prioritize, and above all, you need to count your bullets.
The game also added a nice mixture of new enemies types, to give the gameplay more interest and a level of difficulty.

GAMEPLAY - The crafting system got a slight bump, UI is much slicker this time around and more intuitive and new weapons and upgrades allow for a new level of fun. The only downside in gameplay was I was never really able to quench my thirst in terms of fighting enemies. It was always almost there, but shy a step or two.
But that's because the gameplay is really fun, the gunplay feels good in your hands, you can't just rush in, you can't just shoot endlessly.
Ammo is scarce, resources are scarce, you need tactics, you need to prioritize and you need to think things through.
Weapon upgrading also got a nice visual polish, that makes you enjoy and want to upgrade more.

They also added a couple extra dimensions to the gameplay, with harder puzzles to solve, more contextual clues, a fun rope mechanic used in several different fashions, and a wider world to explored.

LEVEL DESIGN & NARRATIVE - The level design is another area bumped to 11, with every area feeling unique and leading you without you realizing you're being led. You feel the freedom to explore in a lot of places, with restrictions in most places feeling real and make sense. There are some places where you feel a bit too narrowed to a specific path, and too many locked doors for my taste, but these places were far and few.
Narrative was also excellent in this game, make every note you see count, every room tells a story that fits in. You learn so much about your enemies and the world around you just by looking around, no texts no voice, just you with your eyes. Truly the perfection of storytelling through art. Like every game should be.

I won't expand on story, because like I said, it's a very contested subject you need to judge on your own. I thought it was Oscar worthy, some thought it was trash worthy. But regardless of that, I think all the other points make this game a MUST PLAY for everyone.

This game is the perfection of a game - a story told through an interactive experience.

А last of us 2 это не об этом. В мире апокалипсиса как то не до этого будет современному обществу той эпохи. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Enjoyed the story but too much filler, it has great gameplay, and graphics. The Abby arc seems that is never ending and that's where my biggest problem with this game is. I didn't sympathize with Abby until the end of the game, but I did understand the reasons for her actions. In this world there are no heroes, everyone is just a survivor, no good or bad, so in my opinion Joel's death was justified. It's a good game, just cut the Abby part in half and add some Joel - Ellie gameplay and cutscenes and it's going to improve a lot.

It's not perfect but is not the piece of trash that everyone is saying.

You start the game feeling the anger and hate as some of the characters in the game, but by the end you feel the same toll it has taken on these characters. Naughty Dog takes big risks and they definitely pay off. The Last of Us part 2 is an emotional roller coaster with the same mechanics and gameplay as the the first. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Honestly, the negative reviews that complain about Joel dying really didn't understand the story. If you stopped playing just because your white male hero died, you completely didn't understand or didn't want to understand the story. If you didn't want to play as Abby, you didn't understand or didn't want to understand the story. The story was deep, complicated, and let two young women be complete characters without needing to be a man's sidekick. The only issue for me was Ellie giving up everything just because Tommy stopped by to whine about his sob story; that made no sense and turned her back into the cliché 'daughter', the female character in video games who only does things because they're motivated by a dude. Other than that, the surroundings were beautiful, the acting was amazing, and the violence was gruelling, which is what it was supposed to be in a post-apocalyptic hellscape. Well done, Naughty Dog. If you were looking for Red Dead, Saints Row or GTA, you should've bought that instead. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While it's instantly obvious that there are graphical enhancements over the original due to the platform, the standout difference is the story. And it's polarizing. Whereas TLOU, one could argue, had a happier overall ending with Joel and Ellie remaining together to form a father/daughter-style relationship in Jackson, TLOU2's story takes a darker and more complex path toward resolution.

No, the story is not poorly written nor are major decisions at odds with the character development that takes place throughout the story. However, many of the negative reviews are from players who disagreed with those choices. TLOU2 is not for everyone because it operates in "shades of grey" - love, hate, revenge, empathy, forgiveness, loss...none of these emotions is dealt with in a black & white way throughout the story. In my opinion, that makes the journey that Ellie and Abby go through a much richer experience vs. the original TLOU (which I also loved).

At the beginning desire to play had dropped drastically, seeing what had happened to Joel, protagonist of the first game, and that I thought had a much more relevant role within the second part, having started playing completely free from spoilers. But now I'm thankful to have continued to play.
We begin to play with a crazy desire to kill every single one of them, and therefore the player is led to have the same way of thinking as Ellie. And this way of thinking remains until Ellie's "Seattle - Day 3". The part of Abby's story turned out to be a surprise. Until the middle of the first chapter I was completely annoyed to play with Abby and not against her, always thinking of her as an antagonist. But then as the character's decisions turned out to be much more human than Ellie's, and given the reason for Joel's killing, your sense of justice is attacked by the game itself and you start no longer having a hero and an anti-hero, but 2 characters who have lost a lot and continue to lose. The first encounter between Ellie and Abby was crucial for the story and to screw your head even more: Abby spares Ellie and proves even more human than the latter. The false dissolution of the story seemed a little superfluous at the beginning, but then we understand that it was done only to highlight how much Ellie lost in the real ending, where she chooses to save Abby, restoring the bit of humanity that has remained. The epilogue is depressing, but more bittersweet than totally sad: Ellie has lost everything, but has solved the question that led her to this trip: forgive Joel once and for all, leaving the guitar behind. Gustavo Santaolalla's music is the best part of this game: every single moment is accompanied by a track that perfectly represents what is happening: the best two are "The cycle of violence" and "Beyond Desolation"; the latter, played at the epilogue, amazes how amazing "The Path" in the first The Last of Us.
It is the best game of the generation from this point of view and it also runs very well on a regular ps4.

While it doesn't surpass the original, I admire the risks it took and I felt most of them paid off. You could honestly argue that any of the main protagonists is right or wrong in how they think and you wouldn't be exactly wrong. So much work has been dedicated to this game -in every aspect of it- by the developers, fact that makes me question the validity of all those review bombers giving it a 0/10, 1/10 etc. So in case you are willing to study the reviews before buying the game, just ignore the unreasonably low ones (this also applies to the unjustifiably high ones). I’m gonna review the most discussed features of the game separately below:

    • Graphics/ environment & character designs/ details: I give it an undeniable 10/10. Perhaps the most advanced game we’ve ever given in the current-generation era of PlayStation. • Gameplay/ Mechanics: well, are not given any robust differences in the way of playing compared to the first tlou. We surely have an extended variety of collectibles and artifacts that help us dig into the events and lifestyle of a post-apocalyptic world, which is quite interesting. Levelling up the difficulty made the gameplay much more challenging and strategic to me. Stealth system works better than the one of the first game. Unlocking skills and upgrading weapons made the experience much more tense and fun for me. However, when playing as Abby i was a bit bored at some parts and also when approaching the ending of the game, the gameplay felt a bit repetitive. I’m gonna give it a 9/10. • Story: well this is the part where most of the ‘fans’ go crazy, saying it’s a complete trash. I respect the fact that each and every one of the players approaches differently the story, that’s why it’s so interesting. I personally loved it. I loved the fact that naughty dog didn’t hesitate to snob the fanservice and instead gave us their point of view, delivering their vision exactly as they imagined it. After all, it is a post-apocalyptic world, don’t expect everything to be good and optimistic. Joel’s death (even though it was brutal and made me feel empty) was totally understandable since it served as the ‘backbone’ of the part 2’s existence. The journey that is followed by Ellie to reach her target -i.e. Abby- leads to decisions and scenarios generated by the protagonist that feel wrong in general (for instance, the brutal killing of Nora and the unnecessary death of pregnant Mel) and made me think it was worth it to avenge Joel by killing everyone except his killer. When it comes to playing as Abby (god this is maybe the most critical point of discussion and main reason for gamers to hate the game), the feelings are kinda mixed with the wider percentage of us (the gamers) feeling awkward and unwilling to play as her. However, the developers have offered a wider range of capabilities -for instance, different skills, weapons, crafts, artifacts etc.- that propel you to an interesting and enjoyable gameplay with very cool sequences (rat king encounter and scar island escape). In the end, I felt sympathy towards Abby. This is me talking subjectively. Many people may say that they ended up still hating her. Totally respectable. But I liked her character the more I played the game and the more I was processing her backstory. Abby and Ellie are two different sides of the same coin in my opinion. They both seek vengeance for their father figures, they both end up losing people they care about and finally, they both realise the mistakes they have committed. There were 2 main parts that captured my attention and made me understand how deep this game was. First one is that the unstoppable persuasion of revenge costed Ellie (By losing 2 fingers) the only strong connection to Joel which is her ability to play the guitar and thus remember him. The second is that in the last scene with Joel and Ellie. To be exact, she tells him that she isn’t sure if she can forgive him for ‘abstracting’ the meaning of her life/immunity. Then she tells him she could try to forgive him, then Joel says he’d like that. At that moment, she says okay to him in the exact same way she did in the ending of the first game. The guitar theme playing in the background is also the same as the one in the first game. Same music, same people, same word. ‘Okay’. However this time, Ellie says okay to the truth whereas in the first games ending, she said okay to the lie. The concept of the game aims to promote honesty and forgiveness, not hatred and vengeance. That’s what the majority of haters fails to understand. Story and concept gets a 10/10 for me. Finally, to however may play the game, I suggest you to experience it from an objective point of view and with an open mind as well!

My sincere opinion, I played this game and I was totally disappointed, a bad experience, I didn't buy the game, I won, and the disappointment was so great that I will break this garbage. It's absurd how they can ruin a franchise, with a totally revolting story and addressing issues that don't need to be addressed in a game.

For those confused by the user score of this game, it received a "review bomb" from many people who did not play it, due to elements of the story being lambasted by fringe media. Namely, there is a transgendered character in the game, and although the game's narrative handles this with grace, there was an online campaign against the game due to supposed "social justice warrior" themes.

I went into this game having played the original, including DLC, and ranking that game among my all-time favorites. I also tempered my expectations due to the online backlash against this game's story themes, as I hate ham-fisted social commentary.

Having completed The Last of Us Part II, and thoroughly enjoying it, I can say that the online backlash is unfounded. The story is rich and nuanced, and although it could be described as long-winded being 30 hours, it delivers a bittersweet ending that begs for another sequel. Seriously, any emotionally mature human would feel for these characters, and enjoy seeing this world through their point-of-view.

The only reason I'm not giving this game a perfect 10 is out of spite for what the developers did to my beloved favorite character. I understand that the game wouldn't have been nearly what it was without that plot point, but I can't let it go. And I am also aware of the irony that the game made me care so much about an imaginary person that I am taking it out online, almost like the review bombers.

In terms of mechanics and gameplay the game is on point, there was no other parameter of gameplay to explore, its perfect. In terms of story the Naughty Dog was capable to kill one of the most important characters to gaming community, that shows how courageous naughty dog is, and the fact that most of the users critiquice the game only for killing that character shows how selfish the users are, and how our present society cant deal with death and cant see the both sides of the story , even threatening to death the voice actor of Abby and her child's.
    This game is perfect.
The problem with this game is that this game isnt made for ignorants, and Naughty Dog is too ahead of time.

The best story I've ever played.

My first rating on Metacritic, simply because I thought this game deserved more than it got in its User Score. This game forces you to use your superhuman power of *empathy* to play both sides of a conflict. The game is filled with moral conflict, emotions, and strong character story arcs. There's a lot to say about this game. It pushed, pulled, and tore me in so many more directions than I could've anticipated. By the end of the game I felt just like the characters, I was exhausted and ready for it be over. I had so many different emotions during my playthrough all the way through the end to the credits where I tried taking time to reflect on them. I grew tired of the running, tired of the fighting, tired of the cat and mouse games and wanted it to end, and yet one simple question could answer how I felt. Was it worth the play? YES. The team that made this game played me like a fiddle, and I went along willingly. It was only until I got to the end that I realized this. They sucked me in, and I'm glad they did. Expand

Wouldn't change a thing! This is one of those rare masterpieces that take days to digest and dissect after finishing the story. It definitely utilize the potential of the PS4, it plays and looks fantastic! But the journey you embark on together with Ellie is what will leave a mark. As much (if not more) as part 1 did!

It is a masterpiece, not only for its excellent graphics, but also for the amount of detail that Naughty Dog has take care of, such as those raindrops on objects or characters, the snow on the pines and the sunlight through the trees. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a massive fan of the first part of The Last of Us, I waited eagerly for part two and subsequently for the answers to questions that arose from the first games events.
This game is a brutal tale of revenge, of rage and sorrow. It was emotionally taxing for me to play at times. I was so invested in the plot and every character, the demons that possessed them and their fight for survival both physically and spiritually. I really enjoyed playing from the perspective of Abby and finding out who she is and her motivations as the catalyst for The Last of Us part 2s whole driving plot ie Ellies revenge. I grew to love her just as I did Ellie. And found myself in the last moments of the gaming wishing no harm to come to either of them. I rooted for her and Lev to find the Fireflies and live happily. For Ellie, Dina and little Potato, I wanted a bright and positive future. I could barely bring myself to control Ellie in the last fight with an emaciated, sun blistered Abby...
The world of the Last of Us is beautiful and truly immersive. I relished every inch of exploration of a Seattle that has succumbed to Nature all its greenery and wildlife and of course the very nature of the Cordyceps Brain Infection virus.
The performances from each actor were amazing. They were real as far as I was concerned while playing. The Gameplay itself was fun and challenging and also quite satisfying. I did not willingly kill one dog! (sorry Alice

If you liked the first game, you will like this one (with the 2 points I said at the start), if you didn't like the first game, there is no reason for you to like this one. The game still a game about love and humanity, open your mind and you definately will enjoy it.

Their was a few story choices I didn’t agree with and the game can be kind of slow at times, but when I look back I still enjoyed the hell out of this game.

It has the best graphics for a game on the PS4, the sound design is fantastic, the musical score enhances each scene and encounter, with fun gameplay. The story, although does not compare to the first game, it does deliver a emotional story even through again, I may not agree with some of the directions the game takes. The story does bring up interesting themes and philosophies that made me and my Girlfriend talked about, way after the credits had rolled.

All an all I had a great experience playing this game and one that I will remember.

PS4’s swan song and one of the best games ever made IMO. The atmosphere, tension, narrative and attention to detail is one that is rarely seen in video games. I can understand that some story points might not resonate with everyone but I thought it was amazing. Can’t wait to play this on 4K (hopefully 60 fps) on the PS5. Thank you Naughty Dog.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
