The story deals with father figures that test the humanity of the girls involved . As the the non linear story tries to explain the motives of why torture and the brutal senseless violence is common within the human communities , the usual suspect seems again the source of evil . The end of the game may be disappointing to some but has a spiritual connection where the sanity of mercy is a welcome vision .… Expand

    For me it is not a 8, it is a 7 but I will compensate for so many 0, TLOU2 is far more than a 0 and I think this is unfair to the game. No spoilers, when you start playing this game it will really get in to you and you will be excited to play it and to know you have a great game to play in the following weeks. After playing for about 7 – 8 hours you start realizing that the story is reallyFor me it is not a 8, it is a 7 but I will compensate for so many 0, TLOU2 is far more than a 0 and I think this is unfair to the game. No spoilers, when you start playing this game it will really get in to you and you will be excited to play it and to know you have a great game to play in the following weeks. After playing for about 7 – 8 hours you start realizing that the story is really poorly written or too ambitious. They will force you to change characters every know and then and not only that there are too many flashbacks that get old really fast. The gameplay is fun during the first half of the game but gameplay also gets old, you will be doing the same thing over and over and over again and this is: enter a new area press R1 to see who’s in there sneak behind them press square and then stealth kill them (with the same animation every single time), that is the gameplay don’t let them fool you with the trailers they have been releasing where every action looks so fluid and dynamic.
    Having said that, the game environments, characters and the animations (facial expressions interactions) look absolutely amazing, truly amazing. Certain scenes really can touch you and make you emotional but as we said as the game progresses the intensity of the story dilutes and between this and the repetitiveness of the gameplay is why you will eventually drop the controller.    … Expand

    Great game unless you're an SJW that gets triggered by anything that goes against your specific political beliefs. On a technical and story telling level, this is a great game. Not perfect, there are aspects story wise that could have been better, but it wasn't terrible or trash. Motivations made sense for the characters, Game play was great. Visually perfect.

    Game was beautiful and actually felt more like a real story that could really happen. I liked the Constant action in the first game, but it almost felt forced a lot. You go in this room you fight zombies then when you leave the room you’ll fight humans go to the next place fight humans leave fight zombies it was a constant need for action and not much story.     Si te gusto el primero, este tambien lo hara. Un juego con una carga narrativa brutal, y donde a traves de la exploración, te explica historias secundarias para entender mejor el contexto. La jugabilidad esta 3, 4 y 5 escalones por encima respecto al primero. La unica pega, es que la ps4 parece que vaya a explotar de lo exigente que es. Sin duda,, estamos delante de uno de los mejoresSi te gusto el primero, este tambien lo hara.     I don’t want to give it a 10 as I haven’t finished it yet, but this game takes everything established in the original Last of Us and improves on it. I can’t think of a single mechanic that hasn’t been expanded or made better in some way. And the new mechanics make sense with Ellie and mesh well with everything else. No spoilers, but the story is gripping. The prologue starts a little slow,I don’t want to give it a 10 as I haven’t finished it yet, but this game takes everything established in the original Last of Us and improves on it.     This is by far the best Naughty dog game ever made, if you played uncharted 4 and then you come to this, you can immediately tell how much work was put into this one

    Excellent game in pretty much every facet, especially visually and gameplay wise. The story is tough to play through, extremely dark and morally challenging, but I think it was done with good cause and mostly tastefully. I think a lot of gamers are crying over senpai Joel without understanding the deeper meaning of the narrative.

    This game is nothing short of a masterpiece. It IS one of the greatest games of all time. The acting is award worthy. The grapics are almost too realistic. Ive played many games and have never seen graphics look THIS GOOD. The gameplay is greatly improved from the first game.     That is all it is. This is a game set in the middle of the end of the world. What did you expect? Sunshine and rainbows?

There was a lot of competition - Spider-Man, Horizon: Zero Dawn, God of War - but TLOU2 beat them all. It's been such a great generation for gaming. At least if you owned a PS4.     I don’t understand all these negative reviews left, the majority being on the day of release, so they have barely played the game at all.
    people are complaining about the characters and how different Ellie is, they seem to have the image of the 14 year old girl from the first game... the fact that she is now a young adult (19/20) seems to confuse them, she is not going to be a standard young adult by today's standard as she grew up in a apocalyptic world...
    The game takes away the effect of being able to run in and gun everything down instead you have to think carefully about the encounters, and plan your moves carefully as one wrong decision could be the difference between life and death.
    The story is based on Ellie’s quest for revenger after the brutal murder of Joel, its more based on the physical and emotional effects of her decisions and actions, and you can see her character change due to this throughout the course of the game.
    I am speaking from knowledge of the game as i have completed it once and am now on my second play through.
    Now i admit there are things that could be done better and explained more, however the overall game is amazing, i also love the fact that they are diversifying with their characters with Ellie being gay and Dina being Bisexual, it just brings to light that just because there is an apocalypse doesn’t mean everyone will suddenly be heterosexual.
    Honestly i think Naughty Dog have done another fantastic game, i would recommend it to everyone.    … Expand

    Wonderful game. Graphics, sound and setting of the best of the generation. The gameplay has enough changes to blow your head off, super entertaining. The only one but of the game the story, well narrated but very disorganized in its events, badly skilled the death of one of its characters if it had occurred in the middle of the game and with more credibility would have helped the title toWonderful game.     Incredible performances, incredible graphics and detail, incredible gaming moments I’ll never forget. The Last of Us Part II is a story experience unlike anything I’ve played before and has, without a doubt, risen the bar for what gaming can be- just as it’s predecessor did seven years ago.

    I have never experienced these many emotions in a video game, even rarely in other medias. The game made me feel anger, sadness, hatred, happiness, grief, scare, calm, hesitation, and so much more. Many times, multiple emotions are mixed together at the same time.
    It is a masterpiece and must play if you like good stories and can keep an open mind.

    The only thing i didnt like was some of the decisions the characters made. Abby lets ellie go and she tries to kill her, then she does it again cuz stoopid. Also why do preganant women wanna be close to zombies so bad.

    too many jump on it when they didn't even play the game, I think you have to play the entire game to really see it for what it is.
    The environment is superb, the sounds and the factions.

    The gameplay is taken from the previous game and is getting better and getting more features that makes it feel different and better, like the dodge that makes melee feel more fun than the first game.

    The exploration in the game is great, the stages feel very open and the option to enter places and look for recources and look for notes that tell more about the world.

    The quality of the animation is unreal and makes the game very believeable it's insane.

    And now to the point of the story that many jump on it because of the leaks.
    I truly believe you have to play this game and not rely only on leaks or on what other think about it to see it for what it really is.
    the world of the last of us is a dangerous one and part two shows it, no one is safe.
    its getting out emotions that not many games will get out of you.
    it's a tale of revenge and hate and how it's consuming and can leave you with nothing.
    the part of two perspectives is not something new but it adds to the story to show that the other side has their reasons too, and while yes I love the characters of the first game and felt rage for what happened in the first part of the game, the second part is successfullly making me see why it happened and accept it, and even like the character and wishing for both to get out of it, and that's why in the last part I felt heavy and just wanted then to stop.
    This is a dark game and in no way a bad one, not all games need to be Cinderella games with happy ends and I hope many can accept it.
    I think everyone needs to play the game and see for themselves if they accept it or not, but even if they don't like the story the game is worth it even for the gameplay, environment and all the other stuff in it.    … Expand

    One of the best experiences that i have playing a game.
    Forget about the hate, the same people hating in the future will be calling the game "Cult".
    Nice story, perfect graphics and gameplay similar with the first game but upgraded. MUST HAVE for all PlayStation owners.

    Don´t listen to all negative feedback by players. If you will make it to end of the game, you will understand how much interconnected it is to first game. They perfectly showing that every decision matters and it will have consequences.

    It's a beautiful, well-written, morally complex video game that's ultimately smarter than most games and a lot of movies coming out these days.

    I spent two incredible nights playing through the game. This game has the best of every single category. Graphics are the best this generation. The soundtrack has that incredible naughty dog flavor you hear in many of the titles, but hits every note better then the last. I never could have guessed how this story would turn out.     A Naughty Dog se superou de todas as formas nesse game. Ampliaram e aperfeiçoaram tudo que já existia no primeiro juntando isso há graficos e mecanicas tao boas quanto o antecessor e uma história que envolve momentos marcantes e de reflexão te colocando pra sentir tudo aquilo da forma mais real e brutal possível.     Cheers from Russia. This game is amazing. Graphics, gameplay is awesome (especially at max/survival difficulties). I love the atmosphere and new locations as well. Yes, as a TLOU fan i was shocked and frustrated with SOME SCENARIO MOVES, but, at the end, i got it. Yes. This is game is almost a masterpiece, i would give it 9/10. Minus point for some agenda and some story desicions.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The 8/10 isn't swayed by anyone elses score or the overall rating. (For comparison I rated Last of Us part 1 as a 9/10.)... I think it's not okay to rate a game 10/10 just to try and raise the overall score because others rate it 0/10 to sabotage. Two wrongs don't make a right.

    So here we go: I fully admit that this game is a very long, very emotional rollercoaster.
    It will not be for everyone, that much is very certain. There were events in the game's story I didn't like. But all of the story feels like something I can believe. The people in it are, just like in the first one, very authentic feeling people. They aren't perfect, or absolutes. They don't always have the same mindsets, as their moods can change, they don't have perfect lines that feel scripted. It flows very similar to life.

    So when many say that the characters act untrue to themselves; well... I never felt like there was one specific way the characters acted in the first one either. Even Joel went (in the first one) from "I don't care why you are being transported" to offering guitar lessons. But in this one, people are absolutely shaped by the events of the last one.. and the events of this one.

    Hell, on some bad days I can be a complete douche and act on mood and emotion, while most days I make my decisions based on reason. Same with these characters. That's why the writing holds up very well to the first one. I would have hated the characters to be reduced to "stereotypes of Joel and Ellie from the first one" a whole lot more.

    If at any point you stop playing when it hits you with the lows (like the anger you WILL feel if you're invested at all) you will end up loathing the game. Early in the game I had to stop and.. recover overnight to keep going. Later on in the game I thought I was at the ending and felt very put off and didn't want to keep going right then. But I opened my mind again, let the rest of the story come around and... it did wrap up more satisfyingly. NOT in a perfectly traditional ending though. It's ... anything but a complete answer. Or completely satisfying. But I think it left me with just as much food for thought than the first one. After all, I hated the ending of the first one right after it had happened. But the more I thought about it, the more I found beauty in it. In the plot going for something that's not a "given" cliché that every story should have done, but a very human ending instead.

    If you adopt a mindset by an event in the game (or pre-determinately hate the game after seeing the leaks for example) and won't stay open to any further storytelling, close your mind from giving the game any more chances, that's it; Your mind IS made. You've decided. I encourage going on, as though we aren't used to games making us feel outraged, disgusted and sad ON PURPOSE, you ARE supposed to be feeling those feelings. There-in lies the beauty of what the game does.

    You insisting on the other person being the bad guy is EXACTLY what the characters are feeling. They do not want to hear or know the other persons reasons. They will not entertain the idea that the other person was just like them, on their revenge. But the game's plot asks us to do so, forcing us to play as the person we do not want to identify with at first. We don't want to hear Abby out, give her any room, hear her reasons. "F her"...
    But if we do hear it out, there's a moment in the game where Ellie has actually done more bad to her, than the supposed "villain of the game" has done to her.

    In the end, they will both find some forgiveness in them... but their revenges cost both of them a whole lot more than they would have lost if they had just let it go. But they couldn't. It wasn't an option and they needed closure.

    "If I ever were to lose you, I'd surely lose myself" they sang. Ellie did lose herself for a long while. For Joel losing Ellie's was the only thing he had feared in the past 25 years and while he selfishly decided on not losing her, to a potential vaccine, he did end up "losing her" in trust... but was about to maybe be forgiven. If he hadn't perished before it, because of the actions that he took to people in the first one. People, who also had their loved ones they would do anything for.

    It's a fantastic set of 2 games that made me think a whole lot about human psychology and mental health when faced with trauma. Not many post-apocalyptic stories touch on what such events would do to a mind.

    The polish, worldbuilding, acting is all top notch.

    The reasons I rate it lower than the first one, aren't really so much in the plot, but pacing.
    The first one felt a lot tighter as a storytelling package. Idk how the many pieces of this one would have been re-arranged better, but at times if felt disjointed. Especially when "starting again" as Abby after going so far with Ellie. The content that's there works though, but might've benefitted from taking turns between the two or.. idk. No deal breaker for me though.    … Expand

Yes joel dies, I hated that, but you still play as him throughout the game but in the past. I dont see why people tripped so hard. I think this game could have been an uncharted lost legacy game and neil should have wrote a better story to keep joel alive so the series can strive and continue its glory. В первой части я прорывался через геймплей ради сюжета. В этой части я им (гейплеем) наслаждался. Вроде всё тоже самое, но он стал глубже и разнообразней.
    Сюжет крышесносный. Это совсем не то чего вы ожидали! Это разрыв шаблона. Я трижды думал, что вот уже конец игры, и каждый раз всё закручивалось еще сильнее. Здесь нет правых, а есть свои и чужие. И у чужих тоже есть своя правда. Игра заставляет проникнутся симпатией к антогонисту. Прочуствовать всю его боль и понять его мотвацию. Пожалеть Мишку! И ты уже не знаешь кто здесь антигерой.
    Меня игра просто выпотрошила эмоционально. Это реально круто. Концовка идеальна. Я сидел в шоке доигрывая конец игры, так же как я был в шоке от финала первой части. Спасибо ноти дог за оффигенную игру!

    One of the best games I have ever played. Unlike a lot of others, I actually think the plot was a very good continuation of The Last of Us 1. The mechanics, graphics, dialogs and obviously the STORY was amazing. I would give it 10/10 if not for length of the game; could be a little more condensed in my opinion, but for many it is probably a benefit.

    The anticipation waiting for the Last of Us 2 was well worth the wait. All the teasers and trailers that we have seen over the past 5-6 years set expectations high. Even though the trailers and teasers were a misdirect in regards to the direction of the story, the level great story telling, improved gameplay mechanics, graphics, and Ellie’s journey did not disappoint. Presentation, sound,The anticipation waiting for the Last of Us 2 was well worth the wait. All the teasers and trailers that we have seen over the past 5-6 years set expectations high. Even though the trailers and teasers were a misdirect in regards to the direction of the story, the level great story telling, improved gameplay mechanics, graphics, and Ellie’s journey did not disappoint. Presentation, sound, and narrative are at top shelf quality in this sequel thanks to Naughty Dog. Even though I did not agree with some aspects of story, i still had a memorable experience that will last into next gaming generation.     But moving on to my honest opinion about this game in particular: I think the characters really stood out to me. As in any Naughty Dog game, this one is also very character-driven. Ultimately, this is a story about revenge, hate, and violence, but also about redemption and forgiveness. Yes, I agree that this theme has been heavily used in every entertainment medium, but they rarely do it justice. I can happily say that The Last Of Us Part II has not did justice to the theme itself, but also did stay true to the world, the character development, and the hidden symbology behind this perfectly crafted cyclic narrative (which I will not spoil, but it has to do with the ending itself). All the narrative beats fit perfectly with each other, and it always brings other elements of surprise, right when you think you know what to expect for the ending, another story beat hits you in the face and changes your perspective. Also, you should never go to part II expecting the same thing you experienced in part I. Although that same feeling can be felt through other types of relationships, and some perfect flashbacks, the first one is very different from the second one. Lastly, I just want to say that I think this game will not only define how we all experience video games in the future, but also define how they are engineered, thought, and its story will be discussed and debated for many years to come, just like we did for the first one.

    Stunning, can't find the words to describe the beautiful graphics this game has. It is impressive this game runs on a PS4 which has technology from 7 years ago. I got amazed they cared for every detail, the foldings on Ellie's jacket when changing weapons to the spores that can be seen floating in certain places. Speechless.

    Music 10/10
    The music fits perfectly for every situation in this game, very relaxing when taking a ride on horse.. or very stressing during action scenes. The acoustic guitar is a trademark of this game, even there is a mini game where you can play the guitar using the D-pad. I hope someone could play a song with the in-game guitar, could be fantastic.

    Story 10/10
    Ok, there are some way that the story could have take and there are some strange decision of the main protagonists... but hey, that is the story they want us to learn. This world is not perfect nor the people, sometimes you are a hero and sometimes you are the enemy. Put a note of 0 just because you don't like the story is immature. It is told beautifully, so I'm giving it a 10 just the way it is told, not the content or if you like it or not.

I see a lot of people complaining about being forced to play as Abby, which I understand and wasn't exactly too happy myself to be playing her but by the end of the story I understood why I was playing her and it made the end sequence very interesting as it's not something I've seen in a video game before. When you fight Ellie, it's interesting because obviously you don't want to "win" in a way that would leave Ellie dead.

    I will say there's a lot of this story where I wish this game allowed you to make some choices in the story. There are some points where you just want Ellie to stop. Granted I think the fact that the game so relentlessly forces you to go through with it makes your feeling against some of the stuff you have to do stronger.

    At some point in this game I feel like everybody(Even those who didn't like the game) just wanted the cycle of revenge to stop.
    There's a point in this game where you hate Abby. For some people that point never stops and persists to this day but for people who are more open to seeing her side you realise her journey of killing Joel was the same as Ellie's Journey to kill Abby.

    Joel killed Abby's father, Abby goes through a great deal and damages her relationships just to be able to kill Joel.

    Abby kills Ellie's dad(Maybe not biologically, but in every other sense), Ellie goes through a great deal and damages her relationships just to be able to kill Abby.

    I understand having been too invested in Joel and Ellie to care about what Abby went through.
    But if you look at it clear from bias it is literally the exact same thing Ellie is doing(Which by the end you likely want her to stop doing), so you should understand why Abby did what she did.

    Granted if you can't "forgive" her(I hate to phrase it like that because forgiving her isn't exactly the right phrase), I don't blame you, but if you've payed attention at all you should at least understand.

    Either way I think this honestly was an interesting experiment in some ways, seeing how people would react to and if they're able to empathise with someone who murdered a character they loved.    … Expand

    It is truly remarkable game with insane level of graphics, animation, world details, and overall quality. But the most impressive in this game is a complicated, very sad, but excellent story. Story that can make you cry in some moments, and can leave you emotionally exhausted in the end.
    And, eventually, I can say that the The Last of Us 2 doubtlessly is my favorite game of this year.

    El juego es excelente en el apartado técnico por sus altos valores de producción. En lo que respecta a la historia a mi me ha gustado pero si puedo entender porque al resto de gente le disgusta. Sinceramente creo que no estuvieron listos para una historia con una narrativa tan arriesgada puesto a que si hubiera sido la misma historia de venganza a la que estamos acostumbrados, este juegoEl juego es excelente en el apartado técnico por sus altos valores de producción. Чувствуется как много усилий и труда вложили в этот проект. Заниженную пользовательскую оценку считаю несправедливой, а журналистскую - завышенной. Главным минусом для меня является присутствие и форсирование политических убеждений по поводуИгра очень понравилась. Сюжет показался мне весьма оригинальным и сама подача на высшем уровне. Видеоигры это не место для пропаганды и политики. Здесь это хорошо замаскировано и не так нагло, как например, в battlefield 5 и modern warfare, но это есть. Как итог игра стоит своих денег.… Expand

    80% q deu 0 é moleque mela cueca, Bebezão melequento merece jogar FIFA e COD requentado todo ano e o resto bem se quer jogou Tlou2 é uma obra de arte. Honestamente ao lado de the witcher e zelda sem dúvidas é um dos melhores games dessa geração...
    Você pode n gostar da história. Mais esse game vc merece 1 zero ele é melhor em TUDO

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
