    One of the best games ever created. Strong plot, amazing characters, gameplay beyond praise. I won’t even talk about the graphics, this is Naughty Dog. Once again, they raised the bar higher for the entire industry, but no one can catch up with them.

    Sans révolutionner le genre (c’est vrai), le gameplay est tout de même très abouti. Il y a une vraie proposition ludique avec des séquences de shoot ou du « jeu du chat et de la souris " pour dynamiser le rythme. Comme le font aussi les nombreuses cinématiques et les réguliers flashbacks. Néanmoins, il était je pense possible d'apporter une plus grande variété dans l'approche des problèmeSans révolutionner le genre (c’est vrai), le gameplay est tout de même très abouti. Malgré cela le jeu offre comme même beaucoup de surprise notamment la fin grâce un revirement scénaristique assez incroyable qui finalement doublera la durée de vie du jeu. De base j’aurais mis 9/10 mais face aux trolls qui defonce le jeu injustement alors qu’il ne l’ont pas fait, je mets un 10 :)… Expand

    I am enjoying this game. Naughty dog has continued their epic story by focusing on the repercussions of the actions in the first game. You see how not only Ellie is effected but the toll that the first game has on new characters. A story with complex characters and beautiful graphics. There’s a lot of hate for this gane for choices made story wise but I applaud naughty dog for telling aI am enjoying this game.     A true masterpiece that will raise the bar and inspire many other games in all aspects of game design, for years to come. Especially in the storytelling department as a lot of AAA games' stories these days tend to be uninspired & lazy at best. Props to Sony for genuinely allowing all of their first party game devs to push boundaries of game design.

    I play games for its awesome gameplay graphics and setting plus story, story for me in a videogame is a Plus not mandatory,,
    if I care too much about the story there are millions of tv shows and movies out there go watch them to pay $60 for a story go and pick a novel for 10 bucks and thats it don't bother yourself with the story in video games;

    One of the greatest games I've ever played, I didn't think this would beat the first tlou after I saw the leaks, but I was wrong, will definitely be replaying this!! The gameplay is amazing and so is the story, I absolutely love Ellie, and her relationship with Dina, I also love the side characters as they are written brilliantly and I love the flashbacks

    A gorgeous, gut wrenching and tense game. An improvement on everything that made the first game so monumental. One of the most addictive experiences in recent memory. Well acted, well paced and unpredictable. This game is art.

    The game play is a natural extension of the first one with enough enhancements to keep it fresh. Moving through the environments is effortless and fluid, giving you control over how you tackle combat and exploration. No two people will play the same way and there is enough obscure combat detail to continually surprise.

    This is not a game about heroes. The characters are wonderful and sympathetic, but also deeply flawed. Their personal motivations obscure the moral consequences of their actions. Every turn presents another emotional gut punch. The story is bleak and realistic with just enough small, sweet human moments to remind us of the better sides of humanity.

    There are hundreds of hidden nooks and crannies to explore with a variety of light puzzle solving elements. Going off the beaten path will almost always result in a reward. The safe codes are probably my favorite. It's a joy to try and figure out the safe codes from reading notes and exploring for clever clues in the environments.

    To summarize: This game is excellent, polished with a rare attention to detail. Also, breaking glass is a joy lol.

Our characters are here, and some moments arent what people are going to want at all. But revenge is a story, and it never goes well for anyone.     The last of us 2 is a perfect game, with flawless mechanics, flawless graphics, flawless gameplay, and story that goes very well with shocking moments and stable duration.

    You may have themes of some distaste with in-game policies but you can enjoy it with no problem even with these details present.
    I must congratulate naugthy dog ​​for making such a good game, definitely a great game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's not overly stretch this review. The last of us part II is a MASTERPIECE. Not a rare but a UNIQUE gem in the gaming industry.
    VISUALS/GRAPHICS: 9.8/10
    The visuals, and the overall technical realisation of the game is nearly perfect, except for the fire visuals and effects that are clearly limited by this console's generation's problems. There are some little glitches all over the game but they are almost meaningless.
    GAMEPLAY/ANIMATIONS: 9.8/10
    The gameplay is renewed and restyled but clearly inspired by the first chapter's fundamentals. It betters every single aspect of it and adds new mechanics that keep the game's overall style. The playable maps are enormous and almost completely explorable, filled with curiosities, touching and heartbreaking side stories and collectibles so detailed only Naughty Dog could bless us with. The combat sequences are extremely satisfying, flexible and realistic, as you can reestablish a stealthy profile by running into the grass and keeping a prone position. The A.I., especially the humans enemies' sets new standards for the whole industry, enemies can flank you, easily overwhelm you and engage a hard melee fight with you. They all have names and they can get angrier if you kill their friends or their dogs, the new type of enemy, extremely sensible to every noise and smell. Killing enemies in The last of us part II is not an easy decision. Enemies will scream painfully or angrily, dogs will mourn their owners and whimper if hit. The infected enemies are of course less intelligent than humans but overall more dangerous and renewed. Runners are now more aggressive and overwhelming, stalkers are terrifying and extremely deadly when it comes to a close combat with them. Clickers can easily spot any noise you produce and quickly kill your character. The new shamblers are extremely dangerous as they are die hard, violent monsters that are able to eject burning spores that can sometimes trap you in a corner, hopeless. The bloaters are way more difficult and violent in this game and will cause you a lot of problems. The new Rat King is surely the most challenging boss fight of the whole series THEIR huge bloater body eject some sort of stalkers also stronger and more dangerous. Furthermore the two characters have different weapons and abilities that can be used and improved. I noticed the falling animation was a little less taken care of, almost unsatisfying.
    STORY MODE AND PLOT: 9.5/10
    The story mode is devastating, moving and grounded. The plot twists are incredibly well played and empowered by the incredible acting of the characters' mo-cap actors. Joel's death is the consequence of his actions. Because nobody is a 'good guy' in the universe of The last of us, as Tess reminded Joel in the first game before her death,-We're sh*tty people Joel-. Abby had the complicated burden of justifying her terrible actions throughout the game and she partially did. Naughty Dog make us live her human relationship with the characters we previously saw involved in a terrible action of revenge. And more, not only is Abby Joel's killer, but we find out she is way more similar to him than she and we know. She is more brutal than Ellie, like Joel, and with her action she provoked an unstoppable intercourse of events that brought her down, just like Joel. Just like Joel she finds herself with a human relationship with the boy Lev. But we never forget our true reasons and Ellie, the actual protagonist of the game is focused on her goal. She eventually understands that killing Abby won't bring back Joel and in a touching final scene she lets her enemy go, with the boy she previously saved. Abby lost everything she loved because of her lust for revenge and Ellie proves to be a better human being than her. She then realizes how her revenge obsession brought away the good things she had left. Dina and her son, her mother's knife, the guitar fingers.
    SOUNDTRACK: 9.5/10
    The soundtrack is easily on an upper level and Gustavo Santaolalla demonstrates his talent with tracks that can make your emotions already simulated by the cutscenes even more intense, even though I feel like the first game's songs are slightly more inspired.
    IMPERFECTIONS SUMMARIZED:
    Nothing is perfect, and The last of us makes no exception. Some parts of the plot seem to be stretching the game a little bit, for example the still beautiful but slightly unnecessary gameplay sequence during the war between the WLF militia and the Seraphites cult. Some animations are still a bit rough, like the falling animation that can be revisited and there are some little graphic glitches, some textures disappearing when you're looking at them in certain spots, the fire effects and visuals seem a bit 'old', though these little problems don't ruin the experience.
    As I said, nothing is perfect, neither is The last of us part II, but let me state it goes pretty damn close to perfection.

    The last of us is easily the best piece of art I have experienced in 2020 and one of the best games of all time. It’s a shame so many have written it off for making a story that is more raw and real. I urge everyone to play this game after playing the first. What an amazing experience.

    The game does an excellent job delving into the psyches of the characters and examining how human relationships can be absolutely fraught and at times, make no sense. Anyone who has ever had a contentious or complicated relationship with a parent or other loved one will immediately identify with the mature themes the writing conveys with regards to this.

    It's hard to imagine anyone who considers themselves a gamer not enjoying this game and I think most of the negative reviews come with a heavy agenda and are not in good faith. As a big fan of the first game, this game surpasses it in every way.    … Expand

This portrays her insanity in a beautiful yet brutal way. This will leave you speechless, with tears running down your face. The controls and game-play are comfortable to move around in, and smooth, even on 9 year old hardware. The characters are what get you, though. As you progress through the game you meet all sorts of characters, the storytelling of these people evoke many emotions, as they're all dealing with their own internal problems, some of which could relate to anyone. The Last of Us Part II is a masterpiece, and Naughty Dog has brought us one for the history books.… Expand

    Most people rating this are haters who haven’t played the game. The Gameplay is equally and great as part 1 maybe even better. Combat is simple but rewarding and stealth is tense and difficult. The story is great, although part 1 is has a better story, this story really dives deep into ellie as a character.

    They make videogames like this rarely. This is much more than a simple videogame. It’s art. Everything from the characters to the gameplay to the setting to the heartwrenching story is perfect. The haters can stay mad. I love hearing their crying coming from their basements ❤️

    Awesome, builds well on the first game. Graphics and story are excellent. I really don't understand the negative user reviews, seems some people are more interested in pushing their own views rather than reviewing the game on its merits

Тот кто не любит сюжет ориентированный на широкую аудиторию, не полюбит повествование "в лоб" в данной игре. Я поиграл, и в итоге не могу поставить низкую оценку ну вообще никак. Геймплей - понравился сильнее первой части. Очень много событий, много локаций (не по масштабу действий (никак в первой части полстраны), а по количеству в одном городе), много механик. Сюжет - самое то, к чему прикопаться можно. Но главное что персонажам веришь, мотивацию понимаешь, логика в большинстве случаем соблюдена. Где логика начинает рушиться её сразу же сами разработчики внутри игры собирают и объясняют (кроме одного момента с беременным персонажем), а не ты сам додумывать должен за них. История идёт так как она и должна была пойти. Техническое исполнение игры - моё почтение. Левел-дизайн (сколько проработанных ассетов это просто взрывает мозг), геймдизайн (сочетание нарратива и геймплея идеально), графика (скрины думаю сами видели, на PS4 Pro выглядит потрясно), ЗВУК (отдельно заслуживает высший балл, зацепил очень сильно), музыка -- всё выполнено на 10ку и тут мало кто поспорит (кроме тех рецензентов тут, которые не запускали даже игру, а смотрели прохождение на ютубе в 360р). По итогу хочу сказать, что игра понравилась. Финансово могло быть и подешевле, но это связано с нашим рублём и покупательской способностью в нашей стране, а не с разрабами. Рекомендовать игру стоит только тем кто действительно играли в первую часть (а не пробежали 7 лет назад на лёгком уровне и забыли уже что да как там), собирали записки и жили этим миром и этими персонажами. Тогда точно уж ничьих чувств данная игра не заденет и понравится. Если не нравился геймплей первой части, вы любитель сложных метафор и нетипичных ходов повествования, чтоб прям закрутило как у Шьямалана, вас дико напрягает что в игре есть персонажи нетрадиционной ориентации, настолько что на другое в игре вы смотреть не можете, то я не рекомендую данную игру к покупке и жаль людей которые уже потратили деньги и своё время, и остались разочарованными. От меня 10 из 10 и не поменяю данную оценку. Я думаю что проходная игра не собрала бы столько положительных и отрицательных дискуссий. В споре рождается истина.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
