    TLOU1 is my favourite game of all time. This is a fantastic sequel. Ignore all the short mindness 0/10 reviews. Those people are just mad that they didn't get the game they wanted. What we got, was something a whole lot more. The whole sound design, game play, graphics and story telling are brilliant. Most people that hated this just couldn't accept that this is a very different game to the first one with different themes and more characters, more world building and emotions. Hope was the idea of the first game, Hate is the theme for this one. This is not a story you will have fun with, it is emotionally exhausting but usually the best stories spawn from tragedy are, and so is this. The level design in a lot of sections is second to done and changes the way you see video games. This form of media is art. This is the game to prove that to people. The game is all about the consequences of ones actions, not just that revenge is bad. But there are always more than one side to a story. This was a fantastic sequel, as long as you accept that it's very different to what you expected. That is good, everyone would be more upset if they just got what they wanted. Which by the sounds of some reviews, is a narrowminded, one-dimensional, unmotivated story. The game directer was right when he said that this game wouid be divisive. But the reviews outright hating on this game are people that simply can't handle tragedy and see past the fact that The Last Of Us, is no longer just about 2 characters, but many. People listen to much to others opinions and that sways their own. This game getting review bombed is just down-right disrespectful to all the devs that have worked relentlessly on this game. Sure, you might not like the story but review-bombing it is just childish.… Expand

    Audio - Gustavo Santaolalla has done another understated masterpiece. And licensed songs like Future Days are tastefully and powerfully used. Gameplay - Better than the first by a wide margin. The combat is varied, intense and fun. Your options in every encounter are numerous. And it's challenging on    Graphically - This game is a stunning testament to hard work and commitment to detail.

    Amazing game, a technical masterpiece. I, unlike most people, was able to avoid spoilers and enjoyed the game thoroughly. There may be things that happen that you wish you can change, but that doesn’t make it bad.....to me at least.

    Gostei muito da parte 2 igual gostei do primeiro, gameplay, gráficos, história, tudo impecável, o jeito que contam a história é coisa de gênio. Os combates junto com as finalizações é muito foda, parece tudo cena de filme, nem parece que estamos realmente jogando aquilo, pra mim é nota 10.

    Deslumbrante e unico, esse jogo é tudo que deveria ser e mais após o primeiro, realmente a critica em relação a Joel é verdade, acho que poderia ter muito mais dele nesse game, mas de qualquer forma entendo a narrativa, e entendo que tudo precisou ser desta maneira... Modo Online por favor.

    I understand the anger people feel towards multiple keymoments in the story. It's a truly unique game in the way the story is told and I don't think it's told in the best way possible. However I appreciate what they tried to accomplish. The problem is that I didn't always feel the way I knew they wanted me to feel.

    To me this is a unique experience that made going through the game rough at times but I like to think of myself as en open-minded person and I've always wanted to play a game that featured a true anti-hero because I'm tired of all the games where you get to be the hero or villain. This is something else. You're neither the hero nor the villain. You're just going through the story of people in a world that's gone to sh*t. You may not agree with what happens in the story or you may not feel satisfied with the events in the story and I think this is where they tried to do a similar thing as they did in the first game in a different way and it just doesn't work the same way.

    *spoiler warning for the first game*
    At the end of the story Joel goes on a manic rampage instead or saving the human race and undoes everything you've been working towards the entire game and dooms the entire population by doing so. As a player you folow the story and have no say in the decision that Joel makes. Eventhough this rampage is completely immoral and unethical in every possible way, you understand where Joel is coming from because the entire game builds up to this moment and this is what makes the story of the first game so memorable.

    This time they tried to switch it around and try something unique and this makes your mind conflict with your feelings. It's a true experience of morality in it's greyest forms and a critical look at the cycle of violence. It's an ambitous project and it might not be for everyone. If you just want to feel like a badass hero saving the world and mindlessly blow up people without having to deal with the consequences, you should probably skip this game and play something else. There are a lot of games out there that do not deal with the darker side of violence and war.

    I can't help but feel like all games that tried this in the past have been criticized for pushing an agenda while also celebrating the violence they condemn. It might be very hypocritical for a game to do this, but by showing two sides of the coin you can actually nuance the celebration of violence and focus on the morality and meaning of it all. I think this games does exactly that and it might not always feel right or wrong, but I think that's part of the experience you'll have with this game.    … Expand

There were parts where I was so disgusted by what the game forced me to do that I had to put away the controller for a while. While the game never gives you any choice of what to do (just like first game), it doesn't serve up a simple picture either. It really forces you think, to consider for yourself what/who's right/wrong. It's an exhausting, but rewarding, storyline that would have made the creators of KOTOR 2 proud.

    The graphics are simply stunning, as good as it gets on the PS4. Especially the motion capture which really makes the character models come alive.

    Gameplay is mostly on par with the first game, though it's been enhanced. Still, more could have been done here to refine it. Gunfights are still a bit awkward.

    Overreliance on cutscenes and flashbacks. There were stretches of the game when things really got a bit tedious. I get what the devs are trying to convey with a certain cutscene of flashback gameplay sequence, but they really could just shorten it and let you get back to actually playing.

    Some of the mini-games (notably the ones involving a guitarr) were also a bit tedious.

    TLDR:
    This is one of the single greatest games, or even experiences, ever created. Seriously, you will not regret buying this game.

    Though if you're a bigot and you don't want any more nuance in your storylines then what you get in an episode of MLP, this game is probably not for you.    … Expand

I like how you can smash windows and stuff and love how Ellie uses the knife. A lot of anti gay right wing nutbags review bombed it day after release. I was upset Joel died because of the memories they both shared. But at the same time I kinda already expected something tragic like that. It was already rumored he may die. It's an apocalypse. Things like that happen. Walking dead series main characters died but people still watched anyways. They already said the 2nd one was gonna be dark and about hate. You understand why Ellie let her go if you follow the story. They both already lost everything. What was the point of Ellie killing her of she already took everything away from Abby? Abby killed Joel and Ellies friend. Ellie killed Abbys friends and boyfriend. They were pretty much even at that point.     El juego es buenisimo salvo que hay vacios argumentativos en la historia, pero su ambientacion, banda sonora, su jugabilidad me encanto. Es de esos juego que te hacen jugarlo una y otra vez por su gameplay. Me hubiera gustado que te hicieran elejir si querias o ko que Ellie matara a Abby al final, seria ge ial :).

    it's very good gameplay, graphic and the combat system. However, the story is not what I hoped for but it doesn't mean it's a bad game. Far from it. But the story is very depressing for me.

    Emotionally 10/10, got everything I’ve been looking for. Technically, at the end I was a bit tired of gameplay, but the story kept me going. I’d recommended to spread the game out, take a break if you feel like the combat is getting old. Come back in a day or two, the story doesn’t disappoint.

    Magnificent Story Telling. I don't know why people are criticising this masterpiece. If you want the same story line of ellie and joel, then you just go replay the first one. To me personally this was one heck of a unique experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game, start to finish, despite having a minor complaint regarding the ending. From stunning visuals to, in my opinion, a well thought out story line i struggle to see why the majority of reviews for this game are negative.
    I only have 2 complaints about this game: The positioning of Joel's death in the play through and the ending. However these are only minor complaints. Joel dies very early on in the play through which doesn't really give players enough time to reconnect with him as a character, which some say makes his death pointless (?). I replayed the first game prior to launch so i did not encounter this problem but i can see why it is an issue. However his death makes more and more sense as the story progresses and acts as Ellie's main driving force. Without the death of Joel, this game wouldn't make half as much sense. In terms of the ending, I feel it didn't provide enough closure in terms of the characters besides Ellie. Ellie's journey is closed off perfectly and having realized this much my issue with the ending is minor.
    All in all the issues with this game are minor and i think it is worthy of everyone who enjoyed the first game's time. I loved every second and everyone I know did also. Pick this game up!    … Expand

    This game is such a great piece of art and storytelling. Living in a post apocolyptic world relationships can make you or break you. Death has its consequences and this story encompasses all of that and more.

    The graphics show the true power of next gen consoles. Never seen such a beautiful game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Having completed the game (29 hours and 40 minutes), I can say that this game has the potential to be one of the greatest of all time. It is a very HARD story, but it is a very powerful and moving story.

    People who hate this game hate it because:
    A) They think it carries some political Agenda (It does not)
    B) They are angry that Joel got killed thinking that either he didn't deserve it (if you play the game, you understand why Abby killed him...and you would do it to) or that his death was "wasted," I disagree, Joel was not a nice man, he had more than enough red on his ledger over his life and he had to know there were probably at least a dozen people who had the motivation to kill him, but his death, as brutal as it was, was the catalyst for this game.
    C) They didn't get the "revenge" they wanted....and thereby missed the whole point of the game. The Revenge cycle destroys everyone who participates, willingly or unwillingly. They both lost nearly everyone that they cared for, but in the end, Ellie salvages her humanity.

    This game makes you see and experience the humanity on both sides. You experience the humanity and inhumanity of each. No one is innocent in this story and there is no happy ending, at least not in the traditional sense.

    But in the ending cut scenes we see that while Ellie has lost everything, she still has the option to start again and grow. She is not handcuffed to the past. It was a horribly expensive lesson, but it was a lesson she learned and is now able to grow from.

    Yes, it is not a feel good story and it is hard to play at times and it is emotionally gut wrenching at times, but I believe that this sets up the franchise for a fantastic Part III. I believe that TLOU2 will be just like what the Empire Strikes Back is to the original Star Wars Trilogy. A very dark middle that sets up a glorious ending for the saga. And all these "haters" are going to have to eat their words.    … Expand

The brutalility depicted is detailed to a point that you may feel a little queasy from time to time.

When Joel kills Abby’s father and then she kills Joel then it forces Ellie to go after Abby. This cycle would go on forever if Ellie killed Abby. Ellie thought about Joel and realized that she needed to stop this cycle. She lets Abby live, which would make no sense if we only saw the game from the point of view of Ellie. This only makes sense because we see the consequences of killing in both Abby’s story and Ellie’s. I loved all the guitar parts literally my favourite parts of the entire game and the gameplay is fantastic. Story may not be what you want, but instead what it needs to be. Sorry not sorry... overall good game but the way they killed Joel just makes me super sad and I really did hate playing as Abby but I understand that it was necessary.     I found the minuet to minuet game-play a joy and was never burdened by a clunky interface.

This game gets a lot of hate but I truly found this to be a great sequel to arguably the greatest game of all time. Is it The Last of Us part 1? No. But holding it to that standard sets a bar that is unfair to the game and all who play it. This game was visually stunning and the amount of details that went into it deserve the highest praise. They also significantly improved the combat mechanics and allows the game to feel fresh and new. Overall if you're debating on whether or not you want to buy this game I say you absolutely should.     I see a lot of people getting upset about how and when Joel died. Was Joel a hardened survivalist? Yes. However him and Tommy made a split second decision to save Abby from that horde. I hear people saying "Joel would never trust people that easily" but in the first game he did that. Remember Henry and Sam? Unfortunately this time the people he trusted backfired. As for him dying so early on I get the game leading up made it seem as if he was a significant part I'll give you that. But this game wasn't/isn't about Joel. This is Ellie's game and about her need for revenge opposite from Abby's. You we're supposed to feel upset about Joel. His death was supposed to try and get you to feel as if you were Ellie and I think that was accomplished.    … Expand

I love how they let you play as Abby at the peak moment. Showing how being prisoner changed Abby completely and shredded her to pieces. I was completely split down the middle. The first game introduced me to two of the most deep and believable characters in any game I've ever played. I couldn't wait to be reintroduced to them again and I was but not in the way I expected. During my first playthrough I was angry, confused and heartbroken. I questioned everything about Joel's death and why it was done so fast and so brutally. I almost didn't want to continue after that moment but my care for Ellie kept me going. Playing as Ellie again was refreshing and seeing how much she has developed and grown was interesting. When the narrative switched back to Abby i was upset. I was so angry at this character, I wanted her to feel the pain I felt and i knew Ellie felt. I'll be honest playing as Abby didn't change my mind, I just wanted to end and see where Ellie ended up, but when the game finally concluded I realized something. I realized what the games message was, at least what it was to me. Love is blinding. Love makes us do the best and worst of things. My love for Joel and Ellie prevented me from seeing they were just people and just as damaged as Abby. In the world of The Last Of Us everyone has had to cross a moral line to survive and Joel and Ellie are no exception but the love I have for these characters made me biased. Naughty Dog masterfully challenged the players own moral compass in this game by showing how flawed even the main characters are. I've never went so deep in thought over a video game and this is why i appreciate it so much. This game has the most bright of moments and the most dark of moments and ends on a note of mystery. Obviously the visuals are stunning, acting is second to none and I wouldn't expect anything less from a Naughty Dog game. I recommend playing the game twice because the first playthrough so emotionally heavy and can effect your perception on all the themes this game is trying to present. I'll end by saying that I'm still torn by the events of The Last Of Us Part 2 but at the same time I'm appreciative of the authentic emotional and realistic connection I have to Joel and Ellie. I really hope there is a third game because I want to Ellie's story continue.… Expand

    Incredibly crafted and a great sequel that visits the harsh reality of the world in The Last of Us. The game takes risks that pay off but also allows the player to question their own morals whilst following this journey.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
