    I liked the game. I liked the gameplay. The plot is ambiguous, I hope dlc will give answers to many questions.

    Not a story about revenge, it's all about violence and how dangerous is using violence, The last of us was good but Part II is a great masterpiece and without any doubt, the best video game of all time.

    Un excelente juego, desde su jugabilidad, gráficos e historia. La historia si bien es un poco decepcionante, no por lo mala pero si por los hechos que ocurren durante el juego y algunas cosas que pasan con el protagonista del juego anterior, es una historia que te atrapa de principio a fin.

    Es maravilloso, lo mejor en gráficos realistas hasta la fecha, jugabilidad increíble, jamás visto en cuanto a mecánicas. La historia es buena, pero no da la talla de un The Last of Us. Horrible como tratan a Joel al morir de una manera humillante para el y para los fans. Pero quitando eso y el final, que también es ilógico. Uma trilha sonora perfeita, gráficos extremamente realistas, uma captura de movimentos excelente, com expressões faciais e corporais impressionantes, física realista, diálogos longos e explicativos, ambientação fantástica, armas e mecânicas de jogo novas, combate excepcional, os detalhes de cada infectado e inimigo, inteligência artificial bem melhorada, personagens cativantes, e cenas emocionantes, como uma das mais emocionantes de todos os jogos, a morte de Joel, e ainda teve que passar por muitos preconceituosos pela internet somente pela personagem principal namorar com uma mulher.     Realmente es un juego con una inclusión que ofende a la mayoría de sus jugadores, y hablan de personajes con preferencias sexuales diferentes a lo que acostumbramos a ver, se leen críticas hablando sobre dichos personajes sumándole a qué no hay un trasfondo de estos, pero realmente vemos una historia muy bien estructurada sin posibilidad de centrarse en la historia de cada uno,Realmente es un juego con una inclusión que ofende a la mayoría de sus jugadores, y hablan de personajes con preferencias sexuales diferentes a lo que acostumbramos a ver, se leen críticas hablando sobre dichos personajes sumándole a qué no hay un trasfondo de estos, pero realmente vemos una historia muy bien estructurada sin posibilidad de centrarse en la historia de cada uno, presentándonos un granito de arena de cada uno. Fuera de estás mencionadas cuestiones morales THE LAST OF US II nos regala una experiencia única con una historia realista y una alta posibilidad gráfica haciendo renombre entre los exclusivos de esta generación, este juego muestra una historia obscura y que no a muchos les gusta por la realidad que se ve en esta, por eso cabe decir que con lo antes mencionado The last of us 2 no es para todos.     Just loved the game, it was the best ending of a generation, good graphics, didnt run throug any bugs, loved the representativity, Naughty Dog put every effort into all details and it worked really well

    Spolier free Review: been playing this game for the last few days now and I love every minute of it. Of course you are gonna play a ND game for its story but story is not the stong point of this game, the environment is. all thw people who are review bombing it are pathetic to say the least.

    Pretty cool game. Fun gameplay, nice graphics, interesting story. The pacing gets a little sluggish at some points in the middle, but it has a good conclusion.

    The game makes no steps forward with the game play, the dogs aren't new many games have tracking hounds or other things like that in it. All the time I played was like yes it is amazingly graphic wise but, combat and gameplay are the same.     es un muy buen juego como continuación de una historia que la vimos y jugamos hace años atras tiene un torbellino de emociones encontradas a las horas de comenzar a jugarlo me encanto su musica el sonido de cada clima que se vive, el sonido de cada carga de arma es muy vivido mas que el uno valdrá el de los malos y los especímenes que salen me encanto lo recomiendo para quien jugo el uno

    Just finished. 9.6/10. It's an extremely well executed video game. It might not make you feel good, and you might not like the plot, which is fine, but the story was creative and well crafted, and nobody is complaining about the graphics and gameplay. The negative brigading seems pathetic.

    Environmenta are beautiful how the nature overtakes seattle is impressive, character detail is also somethign to give a good score, An upgrade in gameplay and progression tree that will give a lot of ways to play wonderful.

    Yes the story is not the best, i was mad the moment i start playing with abby , i had 12 hours of gameplay more or less and i thought i was about to finish the game and then abby’s story gets on the way.

    I will really appricate if abbys side of the story was optional since alot of the hype of the main story was lost due to that drastic change.

    Killing Joel could’ve be change to kidnapping joel maybe ? I really think that the story of this game could be better at the end we do everything for nothing since ellie didnt kill abby .    … Expand

The last of Us part ll nos muestra una clara forma de lo cruel que puede ser la vida en un mundo post apocalíptico y de la sensibilidad que tenemos los humanos para desatar nuestras emociones(alegria, tristeza, ira, rabia, etc) llevando a los personajes a tomar decisiones como la venganza, la redencion, el perdon. Dejando esto de lado los personajes, tanto principales como secundarios estan muy bien desarrollados en como va tomando curso la trama del juego. The last of Us part ll tiene mucho para ofrecer al jugador, y no deja nada que invidiar a su predecesor, tanto en jugabilidad, ni en historia y calidad de los graficos(en los detalles que le pusieron a todo el juego, a los personajes e infectados) una maravilla¡¡. Cada entrega tiene y tuvo su propia historia..y las dos me encantaron. Nos enseña que en nuestras decisiones siempre hay y habra consecuencias que pueden tener un giro inesperado en nuestras vidas y este juego lo representa muy bien, dando a entender que somos humanos y nadie tiene la vida comprada. I just hope the negative response doesn’t end up hurting the chances of a Part 3 lol. It really is a game, where if I had stopped playing in a moment when I'm VERY INTENDED to be feeling negative emotions - I would've missed out on the journey that the game is and would not have seen the big picture that ended up in me really digging it, to the point of also thinking about it for weeks.     es una historia muy simple y me dejo mucho que desear , pero si me emociono a cada momento disfrute de los paisajes ,ecenarios y enemigos nuevos
    fue divertido hora tras hora que pase jugandolo y creo que eso es lo importante sentir diferentes emociones mientras juegas y este juego lo logra ala perfeccion.

    Thoroughly disappointed with the story. Gameplay and graphics are the best the PS4 has seen. However the line ‘This can’t be nothing’ is literally not true. Once you’ve finished it it literally has been for nothing! SAVE YOUR MONEY

    Other games cannot give you more dramatic experience than 'The Last Of Us Part II'. This is most amazing progress in game history. Thank you to Naughty Dog for making epoch-making game.

Cuando la toca por última vez, la canción representa la esencia misma de quién es ella, pero esta última vez se rompe debido a la pérdida de sus dedos, pero también a la pérdida de algo mucho más. La música simboliza la restauración de Ellie y el vínculo entre ella y Joel, pero también esta nueva ruptura revela una parte faltante de ella misma que siempre desaparecerá ahora que ha aceptado que Joel se ha ido. La pérdida de esta parte importante de su vida se puede escuchar a través de los punteos rotos de las cuerdas de la guitarra que suenan tan trágicos después de escuchar ese hermoso ritmo durante todo el juego. Es un mensaje tan trágico y hermoso de aceptar la pérdida y encontrar el perdón interior. Es una pena que la gente no entienda el final y simplemente lo limite a "la venganza es mala". Es mucho más que venganza y odio. Se trata de amor y perdón. Personalmente, creo que Joel estaría orgulloso de que Ellie se encontrara a sí misma a través del perdón en lugar de continuar con la venganza. Sacrificó a la humanidad porque creía que no tenían cura para su inhumanidad. Joel encontró la humanidad perdida en Ellie, y ella le dio la razón al final. Por último, después de que Ellie rasguea las últimas notas de Future Days, deja atrás la guitarra que simboliza su nueva habilidad para seguir adelante con su vida y supuestamente regresa con Dina en Jackson.     The gameplay is very good and fluid, the story is somewhat repetitive but does not lose the thread of the plot, the graphics are excellent and you can see the detail they did in all this time; you fall in love with the characters and the stories that collectible documents contain. undoubtedly the best farewell game for play 4; cyberpunk has it hard.

All my friends said that would never happen but I knew it would. The ending was deserved for both characters. Joel killed Abby her dad trying to save Ellie .. Ellie was never in the story for Abby she was just the girl Joel killed her dad over. Then Ellie kills her friends and its a stalemate... SPOILER !! Ellie sees this in the end its beautiful.… Expand

There are 2 possible reasons for those who are saying the story is terrible. 1- Prejudice/discrimination, the game talk about (and show) LGBT issues, but they don't try to push it on your face, they do it naturally. So, if you are okay with that you definitely should play this game asap! 2- Didn't get the main point, after Joel's death, everybody gets angry, we want to kill Abby so bad, but when the game makes you play with her seeing all she had been through, everything makes sense, you can't hate her. There's no heroes or villains in this game. The game is about revenge and what it could possibly do to us.… Expand

The gameplay, although maybe not the big step up in game design we expected is still near as dammit flawless. It's tense and heart racing! The only issue is the story! I don't think anyone here wanted to play as Abby. It's that simple. It ruins the tension of the story and if that content was cut for maybe a DLC the game could have focussed more on the ending which was lacklustre. The people crying over their being lesbians are stupid as Ellie had been a lesbian since the first game ffs, and the controversy with deadnaminf of the trans character is blown way out of proportion!… Expand

    Me encantó el juego, cuando más avanza más ganas de jugarlo tienes. En lo que se refiere a guión lo veo bastante bien (salvo algun que otro detalle) y nunca me he encontrado ningun bug o error. Las dos únicas que no me ha gustado es que la parte de Abby, aun gustándome, se me hace un poco pesada porque acaban siendo demasiadas horas con ella para mi gusto y el final no me ha acabado deMe encantó el juego, cuando más avanza más ganas de jugarlo tienes. They have greatly improved the fight, it is less boring than before, they put the silencer on the gun, the world is much wider, year improved the A.I. The fact that Ellie is more detached, stems from the fact that she is a teenager and has seen her only parental reference die. Flashbacks are justified by the fact that the game would have been boring if it had started from before, there would have been no form of action. in the early stages of the game, it's all snowed, the dictation that warm blood melts the snow, had never been seen, even the water is incredible, like this game. It doesn't touch the same topics as the previous chapter, but it's normal, everyone changes and evolves with their works, if you wanted a game like the first part, replay that one and don't say it's ****… Expand

    Gameplay wised i couldn't care less. I'm talking about the story. Minor changes over the flash backs disposition maybe. Some irrelevant scenes that make it a very long game, but the rest is more than great. If you think the first part is hyper original, you should really watch your sources again. It couldn't be more inspired from The road by Cormac McCarthy and the movie that adapts it, or thousand of other apocalyptic stories. What makes great these two games is how they adapt a theme to create their own story. They dont have to follow the path you want, nor design characters to be liked, it just goes against the logic of creativity and diversity, so grow up guys.

    Отличная игра. Абсолютно не пожалел, что купил. Из минусов могу отметить разве, что затянутое начало (часа потребовалось игре чтобы разогнаться). In terms of game-play, it's an improvement in every aspect, everything you do feels natural and fluent as you would want, this lets you engage an encounter as you like, with full-on stealth or going crazy, and it feels rewarding both ways. In terms of story, it's a real, down to earth emotional story, capable of making you regret the actions that you did as the protagonist, making you like the characters that you initially looked as the absolute villains. The end of the story has a sour taste, and the player doesn't want it to end that way, but that is what makes the game so rough and real. This game is a devastating, yet beautiful story about grieving, revenge and it's consequences. The game excels at humanizing every character, so you see how a cycle of violence breaks everything and everyone around you.

Но игра за Эбби по началу душит. Но потом я понимаю чего добивался Нил. У любого твоего насилия , якобы безнаказанно они же просто НПС, враги. А потом мы смотрим с другой стороны.     Para nada es un juego de un 3 o un 4, para mi es un 8 o 9 pero por tanto review sin sentido que el juego no se merece le dejaré un 10.

    I get why people are mad, but it deserves at least an 8 or 9 if not a 10/10. I doubt if other developers dare to make such a leap forward in narrative and storytelling. Can't imagine this to be achieved without such an interactive medium.

    This is not just another video game, this is a story that had to be told.

    The whole game was a kick to the face, it hurt and quite a lot, and not because the video game, or the narrative were bad (because they are not), on the contrary, Neil is one of the best writers of his generation, and I understand his discontent for the bad reaction of many of his followers.

    In the last of us both parts work as one and it does it in a sublime way, there are very few video games or I would even dare to say movies that achieve what Neil and his team did, the attachment that existed on the part of the main actors ( Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson) to their characters made this story even more personal since there were several important changes that happened thanks to the contributions of the actors.

    I love the fact that Ashley Johnson has an indescribable love for her character and for the game:

    How you handle loss during the course of the game is probably the main factor in your discontent, as it clouds everything around you to some degree, but as many fans should already know, "the last of us" is a game. with a REALISTIC focus, in the history of video games and most of titles make you see yourself as "the protagonist", "the untouchable", unfortunately this is not the reality, everything you see, can go in one second and in an infinity of ways.

    Death is something that comes unexpectedly, something you can not adorn even if you do your best, you should not worry about how to die, but how to live while you still have time.

    It took me a while to get through the bitter drink, but that's the way it is.

    In relation to the "antagonist" (Abbey) I will never be able to empathize with someone of her caliber (after what she did), at a certain point you manage to understand the reason for her incessant desire to kill Joel, who ultimately becomes the Ellie's same desire / addiction for killing her, a vicious circle of revenge that as we saw can be very dangerous.

    Playing with the antagonistic character is a very risky move that Neil took, and indeed, I hated every second, but I couldn't deny the fact that it was an essential part of the story and that one of my favorite scenes takes place while you play with she (the war between the seraphites and the wolves), this scene together with the soundtrack is an injection of adrenaline, in the midst of the chaos that breaks out between two "cults" that after all for lack of dialogue and their different methods to achieve the same objective, they cause a carnage, taking everything in their path (even children).

    I could go on to say an endless number of wonders of this installment, from the symbolism, the small details and references, the soundtrack, the soundtrack, the photography outside and inside the cinematics, the criticism of the way to carry out certain religions and As they conflict, the incredible and subtle way they introduced the LGBT community from the first game, the DLC, and how it continued and developed, even the simplest details in the dialogue make the difference between a good and a bad script.

    She couldn't even have asked for a more poetic ending, after Ellie's intense fear of ending up alone, which was raised from the very first installment, along with her childhood story, which she discusses with Joel and is featured in the comic and on "left behind "(where all her loved ones die or abandon her), and after all the decisions she made, good or bad, her greatest fear ended up becoming reality, leaving her with no other option but to accept it.

    A devastating ending and certainly not for anyone.

    But the most heartbreaking part is the one on the porch, where Joel says to Ellie:

    - "If somehow God gave me another chance, I would do it all over again" (referring to saving her)

    To which Ellie replies:

    -Yes ... I just ... I don't think I can forgive you ...

    (because for her, dying to give a cure to humanity would have given her life meaning)

    Ellie: But I would like to try.

    Joel: I would like that.

    Ellie: okay.

    Thus ending the last words that were said, with another "okay" (same as in the first game, but with a different meaning)

    I couldn't contain the tears in that scene ...

    The relationship between Joel and Ellie and the love of "father and daughter" never disappears, it is absent after his death, but it stays there ... in her memories. When a story is told from the heart it becomes art, and it can be seen from the passion transmitted by those who managed to develop this love masterpiece. ... because that's what The Last of Us is a love letter for those who leave and stay in our memory.    … Expand

The game was extremely well written having players go on a journey as both Ellie and Abby. Ellie's story truly pulls on your heart. Players will find themselves lost in a world of horror and anger. I truly hated Abby when I started playing as her since she killed Joel, one of my favorite characters. By the end of playing as her, you come to love her and want her to succeed. The ending teaches players that revenge is not always the correct answer. Revenge cost Ellie everything she ever loved, almost getting her killed.
    The game mechanics truly are amazing. Fighting is incredibly smooth and gives players a ton of options on how to play. You can run and gun or you can be stealthy in your encounters with enemies. There are intense and graphic death scenes that help players get immersed in life during the zombie apocalypse. All enemies have names so killing them will cause their friends to cry about the deaths of their friends. The game is also extremely scary filled with more then just typical jump scares. I think a lot of people have missed the point entirely when it came to Joel dying. The whole point was to be angry about it to put you in Ellie’s shoes and feel what she’s going through. This couldn’t have had as much of an impact if it was anyone else who died so it was a huge sacrifice for the needed response. That being said, I realise why that would put a lot of fans off and all I can say is if you give this game a chance, you’ll be greatly rewarded. With that out the way, I think the story was very well paced and had lots of interesting twists and turns. I was definitely resistant to play as Abby initially. I was convinced there was nothing Naughty Dog could do to make me like her, but by the end, she really grew on me. This is partially down to the great story telling, but also because the acting and level of detail in the facial animations really conveys the emotions of the characters. I think it goes without saying that the graphics are without a doubt, the best this console generation has ever seen. Naughty Dog never fail when it comes to the sheer level of detail fidelity and the result is outstanding. There were so many occasions I just had to stop and look around to really take in this amazingly well crafted world and I loved it. The gameplay, admittedly, is a little clunky and outdated. There’s one scene where I was trying to ride a horse and sprint with it holding L1 and also aim a gun with L2 and that just isn’t a comfortable way to play for me. That being said, the controls didn’t bother me that much because the battles felt really incredible to play. So much raw explosive power accompanied with incredible animations, satisfying sound effects and really tense music made such an exciting game. For me, this is the best game I’ve ever played and I’d have massively missed out if I payed attention to the amount of hate this game has got. If you’re on the fence about playing it, just get yourself a second hand copy when it’s cheap and see for yourself, you won’t be sorry you did.… Expand

    This game has made me feel so much. The way it's able to control your emotions throughout the story is amazing. Rage, sadness, determination, you're in for a hell of a ride. I can't say that many other games pulled me into their world as much as this one has.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I get why people hated this, I was one for about 60% of my playthrough yet 2 days post completion this game is on my mind 24/7. This is simply a story of what revenge can do to a person and how when faced with the worst situations imaginable and in our darkest moments, our ability to forgive is what can save us. I understand the story ND are trying to tell and forcing you to play as Abby, the character who brutally murders Joel in the first 2 hours of the game, for about 50% of the game initially is awful. I'm sure I'm not the only one who spent more time then is healthy walking Abby into infected and throwing her of ledges. What this does though is force you as the player to see how being consumed by a need for revenge can cost you. Ellie lost Jesse, Dina, JJ and her chance of a peaceful happy life in her pursuit of revenge and Abby lost Owen, Yara, Manny, her steady life and her dog in hers. All this stems from avenging their surrogate and actual fathers respectively and the way ND makes you see this from both perspectives in uncomfortable however a genius and bold move. I hated Abby after she killed Joel, i absolutely despised her yet in the final showdown I did not want to kill her. For those who say Abby lost nothing, im sorry but no. All her close companions are dead, unlike Ellies (Dina, Tommy and JJ are alive at the end) and where she and Lev ended up, i would not wish that on my worst enemy and that resort haunts me at the thought of the horrors that occurred there. Ellie showed little character growth until the very end but that was the perfect moment for her to realise, her killing Abby would not bring Joel back nor would it undo the horrors she has both faced and inflicted. She made a decision to let go and to finally give herself a chance to grow and to heal and I dont know where she will end up, but I'd like to think she is back in Jackson with JJ and Dina and happily letting Tommy think Abby is dead. This is not a pretty game but it never pretended to be in terms of story. It is bleak, it is uncomfortable and it forces you to ask and answer difficult questions. What other form of entertainment can do that for you?

    Pacing can be a bit of a mess at times and certain bits can drag out, you spend a lot of time questionning the point of it all and it can be glitchy in parts. I also absolutely bloody hated having to kill Alice, Abbys dog and in combat you will probably have to kill many more pooches which a lot of people will hate but in this world its kill or be killed.

    The graphics are stunning and the way your environment reacts to your presence reflect the attention to detail poured into this game.

    The flashback scenes are heartbreaking and poignant and serve a purpose as well as providing more insight into the events that occurred over the 4 year gap.

    Overall, play this game I urge you and come to your own conclusion. If you arent sure you want to drop this much money on a game you think you really really wont like, wait until it drops in price but it deserves to be experienced and doesn't deserve the hate it is getting elsewhere.    … Expand

В ходе всего сюжета характер Элли очень сильно меняется и в конце концов она прощает Эбби, понимая, что убив ее она ничего не получит. Игра демонстрирует пример того, как желание мести приводит к большим потерям. Так, Эбигейл после убийства Джоэла потеряла себя, ведь ее цель жизни была месть за отца, но свершив ее девушка попала в заблуждение. Но больше всего в игре тронул финал и сцены с воспоминаниями. Может быть Элли все таки осознала смысл жизни и нашла в этом мире себя? Ну смело можно сказать, что девочка увидела в Эбби Джоэла. Очень смелый и сильный поступок разработчиков. Респект.

    В игре есть множество интересных событий, а мир апокалипсиса отображен так красиво и чётко, что при его изучении аж мурашки по коже. Да, есть некоторые неприятные сюжетные моменты, но пройдя игру до конца можно смело поставить 9/10.

    Я не понимаю критику этой игры другими игроками. Многие ее критикуют даже не пройдя этот шедевр на 30% приводя одни и те же аргументы, которые, порой, звучат ужасно глупо.

    Сюжет очень хорош до момента, когда нужно проиграть весь сюжет за Эбби. Это ещё 10 часов игры за персонажа, который неприятен в связи с определённым поступком. Да, за эти 10 часов она уже не кажется такой ужасной, но по началу Эбби вызывает только отвращение. Концовка просто замечательная, хотя много кто говорит, что она слитая. Такое чувство, что в разные игры играли.Атмосфера выдающаяся. Думаю, тут никто спорить не будет.

    Я играл на фэт версии плойки и графика меня более чем устроила. На пк с железом 2013 года игра с такой графикой бы никогда даже не запустилась.

    Музыкальное сопровождение бесподобно, как и в первой части.

    Удобное управление. Если вы слишком криворукий для геймпада, то купите эмуль, но это никогда не сравнится с обычным дуалшоком.

    Дубляж неплохой, но, как заметил Алексей Шевцов, в озвучке нет мата. И из-за этого портится один момент связанный с Эбби и Львом. А также актёр, озвучивающий Джоэла поёт по-английски с диким акцентом.

    Физика и анимации тоже хороши, за исключением нескольких незначительных моментов моментов, никакой топорной анимации нет.

    Literally made this account to give the game some good press. I really dont see the problem people are having it's a really good game. Yes Joel dies and its rough to accept but to be honest it's nearly expected. Least they weren't afraid to kill off a main character. Even better that it was early cause I thought it fueled revenge mission even better. Was not expecting the twist at all were you would play as Abby for the second half of the game. You get a completely different perspective on the story. In her shoes I dont blame her and for what she done, just wasnt expecting a full side of the game based on her. Overall I thought her story was enjoyable and basically giving the chance to play as the villain while the stuff was happening that you did in the first half. Even though you start to like the character by the end of the story I still wanted Ellie to finish the job. The game should have give a choice to kill or let go like the previous game. There could have been a few instances were choices could have affected the story. Gameplay itself is excellent. The gun combat and stealth system is top notch. Can really feel every bullet, club, knife and explosion hit home. Some of the kill scenes are brutally violent I love it. The zombies are horrific as usual and fun to deal with. The introduction of dogs made human combat more interesting and definitely forced a full on gun fight on some occasions. The upgrade system was decent even for a story based game like this. Could have done with a few more open areas like they introduced early in the game. Most of the game is pretty linear but there are multiple ways to get the job done. Some of the areas are big enough and I really enjoyed the looting aspect and finding supplies. I played the game on survival mode but overall didnt have to much hassle for supplies. Always seemed to have enough of everything. By the end I had nearly all the guns upgraded and both characters nearly fully upgraded perk wise. I would play stealthy but there was a good few instances of straight up gun fights which were a nice change of pace. Really needs that grounded difficulty which hopefully comes out at some stage. Graphics are some of the best I've seen this generation. Just everything looks amazing. Sound and music design too absolutely top notch. Few scenes with headphones on were brilliant with the surround sound really gave a full fear factor in some scenes. Hospital comes to mind with Abby.

    Overall for me I really enjoyed the game. The gameplay and graphics are some of the best of this generation. Naughty Dog definitely took some risks story wise that I would say almost payed off. I would have like to have more choices in the decisions of the story. Other than that I think the twists are great and I got a few shocks regarding some of stuff that happens. There could have been more backstory to the likes of Abby and more interactions with Joel and Ellie. I see a lot user reviews bombing the games story but I think they were expecting something different were everyone survived. Naughty Dog made a good game here. But it could have been a great game. For me the story is the only let down but I'm still rating this story at a fair score.100% will play the game again when it more than likely comes out for PS5 with hopefully a grounded difficulty.

It is incredibly smooth, and while it is similar to the gameplay of the original game, it feels very refined and in general is faithful to the original while also being improved. The combat also feels quite good, with weapons feeling very substantial and rewarding to use. 10/10.

    Graphics: This may be the best looking game available on console right now. The scenery is beautiful and the character models are excellent. There really is nothing to complain about as far as graphics are concerned, and thus, 10/10.

    Sound: Like the graphics, the sound is excellent. The guns sound as substantial as they feel, if not more so. The environments also sound fantastic. The voice acting is wonderful, especially from Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie). 10/10.

    Story: The story is by far the most controversial part of this game, with many people disliking the direction of the developers. Unlike some people, I have finished the game and intentionally waited to review it until then. Overall, the story is good, but not great. I would perhaps have made some different choices than the developers did, but they do a good job telling the story nonetheless. It is not as good as the first game, but I believe part of that sentiment is caused by the fact that this game is much darker. The tension between the characters is noticeable and well-done, and while some people may not like the fact that the multiple stories are told in a way that sometimes feels somewhat stilted or disjointed, I did not find it to be a big issue. The end of the game does a good job of tying all of the stories together and the narrative ends up being powerful, if somewhat less than ideal for some players. 7/10.

    Fun factor: Overall, I had fun playing The Last of Us Part II. Some will call it a walking simulator with a small amount of combat, and while cutscenes are very prevalent, I think calling the game a walking simulator is unfair. If anything, it is an interactive movie. Like I mentioned earlier, I thought the combat was good and I enjoyed the many times I had to fight. I have played games that were more fun than TLOU2, but I found it to be more enjoyable than most. 8/10.

    In conclusion, I found The Last of Us Part II to be fairly well-told story that was dark and emotional. I enjoyed my experience, which was carried largely by the excellent presentation and fun, substantial feeling combat. All together, I give this game 45/50, or 9.0.    … Expand

    I give it a 9 mainly due to some downtimes in the storyline. Graphics, animations, music and emotional parts are top notch. I also found the game-play a lot more interesting and rewarding compared to the first opus.

I strongly agree with the critic reviews. This game is fantastic. Violent, brutal, and traumatizing. It speaks strongly about how shortsightedness and obsession with revenge can only cause more trauma, loss, and pain. That evil actions cannot beget goodness. I think people really expected an "Adventures of Ellie and Joel 2.0", but that sort of buddy comedy just doesn't fit in a world as bleak and dangerous as that of The Last of Us. The voice acting and motion capture is great. The graphics are gorgeous. The pacing is good (with only minor complaints of some tedious tasks in Ellie's three days in Seattle). The story is dark and directly follows as consequences of the first game. I expected to fully hate Abby, but I actually enjoyed her three days in Seattle more than Ellie's. The game does a great job of showing the complexities of life and how no one is all good or all bad. This is a terrible world in which people are just trying to survive. I loved Joel's character in TLOU pt. 1, but there is no question that he has done terrible things to survive and his choice to save Ellie doomed the rest of humanity. I expected that if there ever was a TLOU pt. 2, Joel or Ellie would have to die because it's just too unrealistic to expect any character to survive too long in a world as brutal as this one. By the end of my playthrough, I still missed Joel, but also really appreciated the strong message the game was sending. The final fight between Abby and Ellie is just terribly emotional and brutal to watch, but really sends home the point of the game: revenge wasn't going to fix what has been lost. The best you can do is to accept your lot and make the best of it. To move forward with strength, love, and determination rather than obsessing over pain, regret, and rage. Fantastic game.… Expand

Now that I have ended it, I am deeply saddened by all the characters, because nobody goes home with a happy ending. And the fact that I can empathize with the characters at all has given the game a particularly intense narrative style.

    One of the biggest criticisms seemed to be that the protagonist of the first part dies. What surprised me was that someone was surprised that this could happen. Because if you look at the end of the first part and what Joel had done, you shouldn't be surprised if anyone sets off to kill him. And that's exactly what happened in the end. Whether you can understand Joel's actions or not is debatable. But that's exactly what Naughty Dog wants. That you deal with the conflict. It should be noted that Ellie could not forgive him for his actions.

    Another point of criticism was apparently Abby. And I could not understand that either. Abby has understandable motives to kill Joel and shows that she is not fundamentally malicious by ultimately sparing Ellie. Even two times. Even after Ellie waged her own vengeance against her.
    In order to draw Abby's character, a clever decision was made to make her the protagonist. And that's where you get to know their youth, their first love, their conflicts and their good deeds.

    Finally, many were bothered by the lack of revenge caused by Ellie. That too is at least as debatable as the end of the first part. Should she have done it? Would she really have been happier then? Would she suddenly have Joel back? Could she have told him that she did forgive him? What did Ellie get out of indulging in her desire for revenge? In the end, nothing more. She sacrificed her calm and peaceful life for it and won nothing for it. But she wouldn't have that by killing Abby.
    Many wanted to see revenge and apparently did not understand that the action criticizes exactly that. Those who commit themselves to revenge lose more than they win.

    Overall, the game had many moves that showed how detailed it was. Abby, for example, wasn't just strong because she wanted to be strong. She went to training every day and didn't skip a day for her revenge. Ellie lost her innocence and wit the deeper she plunged into revenge. Where she made bad jokes at the beginning was nothing more than emptiness.    … Expand

    Gameplay is the same as the first with some minimal additions, but assuming that the base was very solid there was little to improve
    Personally I would have structured the story in a more linear way but it is not absolutely bad indeed the opposite

Visuals are amazing, even on a launch PS4. Puzzles are less boring than they were in the first game. The main thing holding it back is the ambitious but messy narrative that is hit-or-miss. It's a shame people are review bombing this and not playing the game before reviewing.

    To anyone salty about Joel. Joel was a bad person. He was obviously going to get what was coming to him after all the bad he had done. I don't understand why this is surprising to anyone. The execution wasn't perfect but it definitely made sense for the story.

    Abby is a well-developed character. Her story arc is similar to Joel's in the first game. Bad, hardened person and redemption by taking care of a child. Her rescue of Lev at the end where she just killed everyone on both sides is also similar to Joel's actions to save Elly. By the end of the game I liked her a whole lot more than I liked Ellie. In fact, I think the way Ellie was handled is one of the weaker aspects of the game. While Abby's friends were interesting and made sense, the game failed to really give Dina and Jesse time to shine in Ellie's story. Tommy's turn at the end also doesn't quite feel earned. Dina abandoning the farm didn't make much sense for me either. Actually, the whole ending felt a bit rushed and could have been a whole game itself.    … Expand

The Last of Us Part II is a truly fantastic game being given 1/10s by two kinds of people: people who are who attached to what they *wanted* the game to be and people who haven't played the game at all. This is "Part II" and not a sequel in the truest sense - it's a continuation of all of the themes and plot points and ideas that came out of the end of the first game. Yes, Joel dying made perfect sense after what he did. It was always likely and it was absolutely given its due weight.

    -Ellie sets off on the warpath, but as you proceed through her section of the game, you find out more about her increasingly complicated relationship and eventual falling out with Joel after she found out what happened in Salt Lake City, adding a complicated layer to her motives for going after Abby. What's she really after? What's going on in her head?

    -You spend the first half of the game hating Abby... until you get to her part of the game, learn about her background, and spend three days with her that are written as a parallel to Joel's arc in the first game. 90% of the people who are complaining about her fall into the latter group mentioned at the top - people who haven't played the game at all.

    -I'm tempted to give the game a 9/10 because I don't quite think it sticks the landing. The reasons for Ellie apparently forgiving and moving on from Joel (and not killing Abby) are kind of muddled - it's presented as though the flashbacks to her time with Joel make her change her mind, but it's not really clear why she remembers the particular moments she does at the moments she does. Why go all the way to Santa Barbara only *then* to decide to forgive Joel while her hands are around Abby's neck? It almost works, but I don't think it quite does.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
