    Simply put, it's a MASTERPIECE..
    Naughty dog proved they are not afraid to risk and present a more lifelike scenario, where the heroes are allowed to make mistakes and pay for them.. Nothing like you haven't adored in game of thrones.. Pure next gen material!

    I just finished this game, a little later than some. The Last of Us Part 2 shows real maturity from the first game which had a story which was solid but a little cliched.     It's great game. Interesting story line and best graphic. lgbt is not disclosed at all. I don't understand why they underestimate the score because of this.

    This game is as revolutionary as the first one not because follow the same idea, but because it surprises you in different ways.

    It can be frustrating, it can be sad, it can be difficult to understand why the decisions were taken during the game but then, you realize that the game is not about heroes vs villains and more about surviving in a **** world.     It is really a complexity game that brings a lot of human emotions in his/her blood and it is, in fact, a game that will not be unanimous for everyone that follows the whole saga. It is not only about revenge but also about redemption and consequences and, thinking about that,
    I never saw a game that could bring all these kind of emotions in that way. I hope that the next-gen games could bring more of that.

    What I suggest is, play this game with open expectations, fell each emotion of the game and avoid following any kind of reviews that you saw because
    you can only have your own conclusions when you are playing the game for your own. Or even better, look for reviews after you finish the game, then you will see different perspectives and compare for what you felt.

    These kinds of things that make The Last of Us Part 2 a masterpiece and a revolutionary game for the industry.

    This game is not for everyone as you can see online, but for me everything about it just clicked and it moved me in a way I haven’t felt since the original game and maybe 2018’s red dead redemption 2, this in my opinion is now naughty dogs masterpiece and it will be very hard too top in my opinion

    The Last of us part II is current gaming at its highpoint! Best game in years! No idea why some people don't like it... The story pulled me in from start to end. The storyline is perfectly balanced and pulls your emotions in all directions. The writers and developers did a brilliant job ... creativity and art at its best.     There are no doubt flaws in the storytelling in this game. However, in my pathetic 19 years on earth, I have never had any form of entertainment medium make me ball my eyes out like how this game has done for me. And I mean that in a good way. There were so many instances where I just couldn't handle the emotional baggage TLOU2 would throw at me, and it baffles me that a **** videogame canThere are no doubt flaws in the storytelling in this game. The team at Naughty Dog has not only set a far higher standard for themselves and other cinematic games but the entertainment industry as a whole. And although this game was emotionally tough for me, it's been something I have been trying to seek in videogames as of late. I've gotten tired of happy ending **** This game was a breath of fresh air. It helped especially for me that I knew the game was its entity. If this game were to of given me choices throughout the game that would change the storyline whether subtle or drastic, I honestly would have put my controller down and walked away. Having that feeling of helplessness in a narrative like this fits perfectly. Finally, I appreciate very much that in this post-apocalyptic world the most vicious, gruesome and violent acts are not committed by the infected but - as is true for the world we live in now - by human beings.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 2 is a sequel unlike any other. It's a true masterpiece. And no, i don't think that this it's just a revenge story. I think it's also a story about hope and survival. The writers did an amazing job on the storytelling (except I would have liked Abby's part of the game to be not as poorly written).
    Game play: 9/10 - Amazing except for the few rare bugs here and there
    Graphics: 10/10 - The graphics in The Last of Us 2 are just amazing. The attention to detail has never been this good in any video game (just my opinion).
    Music: 10/10 - The music for The Last of Us 2 was also incredible, and I feel like it set a very high standard for video game music to come.
    Overall: 9/10 - This is due to some bits of the writing that I thought too much was put into (in some cases, lack of thereof), and also the rare bugs and glitches here and there.    … Expand

    I’m obviously not surprised that Naughty left me speechless. As a huge fan of the series I can obviously confirm that this game is way more than a masterpiece, it’s just out of this world. It’s all about the cycle of violence and it’s consequential side to it. The unbelievably amazing psychological, emotional and philosophical story might not be for everyone (it’s perfect for me though)I’m obviously not surprised that Naughty left me speechless.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm baffled by the review bombing of this game. Even if one does not like the story, and I do have a few gripes with that compared to TLOU 1, this still is top-notch graphics, great gameplay, and sound.

    I absolutely loved the first game, which is my favorite game ever, and technically this is far superior. Where this does have some issues for me is with the story. I felt a serious gut punch when Joel died, but it makes sense to me in this world that he had it coming. Even if we know him as a protective father figure, to a lot of other people he's a mad killer. I disliked the pacing of the game, the Abby parts felt a bit too contrived and long, but overall still resonated with me for the most part.

    Hating this game for having a tiny bit of LGBT content seems crazy, just like hating it for killing off a loved character seems weird to me, hating the story is fair, but hating everything else about the game makes no sense to me. This is not as good as the first game but it's still a great experience with great gameplay, even if the pacing is a bit off.    … Expand

Aquí vi a muchas personas que se quejan de la muerte de joel, que dicen que quieren dejar a Ellie como una villana y que es horrible controlar a Abby, "la malvada monstruo que mató al protagonista de la anterior entrega". No, Abby no es un monstruo y Ellie tampoco y esto es lo que nos quiere mostrar el juego. No hay malos ni buenos, cada uno tiene su razón de porque hace algo. Abby mato a Joel porque este evito que se hiciera una cura y mató a su padre, Joel mató al padre de Abby y evitó que se creara una cura para salvar a Ellie, la única persona que logros llenar el vacío que le dejó la muerte de su hija, y Ellie trató de matar a Abby para vengar la muerte de Joel.
    Creo que ya es hora de dejar de llorar por la muerte de Joel y por la no muerte de Abby y analizar la historia de este juego como la obra de arte que es. Entiendan, Joel no era un buen tipo, hizo cosas horribles, su muerte fue como la de cualquier persona de su mundo y eso es joel, una persona más de un Apocalíptico mundo, no merece ni más ni menos por ser su historia la que se relata en The last of us    … Expand

Mi propio padre quedo impresionado por el realismo del juego, incluso pensó que la foto de la caja de este era una persona real la gente que se encontraba a mi alrededor pensaba que era una película. Lo único que no me gusto de eta obra de arte fue el final, ya que me deja muy incomodo que ellie no haya matado a abby o abby a ellie, Que pasa con ellie?, Que es de ella? etc. Pero sinceramente es una buena historia incluso llegamos a tomar un POQUITITOOO de cariño hacia abby pero me deja muy triste y enojado que terminara hací el juego.… Expand

I do think Joel deserved better but hey, life is not fair so I can’t expect it to be so in a post apocalyptic zombie world full of people that would do anything for survival, power and vengeance

There are newer animations and newer stuff to craft. The movement is much faster. The melee combat is as solid    This is obviously a direct sequel to the first game and man this is a worthy sequel.

    Let's start off with my thoughts on the gameplay.
    The first game had satisfying combat but it was relatively basic with crafting in the mix.
    But part II builds upon that and refines the combat. There are newer animations and newer stuff to craft. The movement is much faster. The melee combat is as solid as ever. The aim can be a little wonky at times but that just might be due to me being used the 60 fps of the remastered part 1. The AI is much better. Enemies are not as dumb as the first game. The levels are really open most of the time and different routes can be accessed to fight groups of enemies. With added the functionally of swimming every fight is dynamic apart from the scripted ones. The added ability to prone makes stealth much more easier as well.In simple words players can be creative with how they tackle hoardes of enemies. Basically the gameplay is top notch. One can play the game for the gameplay alone and have a fulfilling experience.
    Performance and visuals
    I don't need to say much about the graphics. They're simply stunning. From The dark, green, gritty streets of seattle to the bright island of santa berbara everything is beautiful. The environments are complex But The game still somehow manages to run on stable 30 Fps
    Pacing
    The pacing was generally well but I feel like parts of seattle day 2 and 3 were dragged longer than they should've been and as a result the game felt pretty slow at some points. Story
    The story is controversial but it's all a matter of perception. How one approaches the game can dictate or change their thoughts on the story. When the leaks came and everyone was furious I was low-key happy because I knew the story was gonna take a bolder direction(got no spoilers btw) instead of the vanilla stuff we usually get(DKM). You might think you know where things are headed but at the very next moment the game outsmarts you. Some sequences in the middle and the ending especially can be interpreted in different ways and that's what makes the story so good in my opinion. I personally loved the way the story played out but it's fine if you don't. There were certainly some plot holes and questionable stuff like Dina and Mal being able to fight like rambo but no game is perfect.



    Overall last of us part II has excellent gameplay with a controversial yet wonderful and emotional script. The characters of Ellie and Abby were brought to life by the excellent voice actors and the motion capture team.The cycle of hate and love was beautifully presented. It's a masterpiece in the field of storytelling. On a side note make sure you take time with game and fully play it. Don't jump into conclusions without finishing it.    … Expand

    An absolute masterpiece. Ignore the bigoted haters, this is probably the best single player game ever made. It takes 27-30 hours to play through and has plenty of twists and turns along the way.

    Jogo simplesmente impressionante do começo ao fim. Conseguiram fazer algo que eu realmente não esperava, que era fazer um jogo tão bom quanto o primeiro da franquia.     State of the art graphics. gameplay is neither complex nor revolutionary but extremely tense and immersive. The story is quite simple but so powerful and revolutionary in the ways it's told that it pushes the limits of mainstram media narrative. The way themes like grief, tribalism, revenge but most importantly forgivness are handled is shocking and devastating. A real masterpiece.

    I can’t understand how poorly rated this game is, to think where I started my gaming life on the gameboy playing supermario. To once again being blown away by another Naughty Dog creation. There’s a few points where the game could be better, but they are so minor. So many times I was blown away by what an experience this game is and I constantly couldn’t wait to pick it up again.     Full review: This game moved me in a way I've never experienced in a videogame. The story is engaging and beautiful. It's truly a marvel of plot creation. During the second half of the game, you may experience some mixed feelings as there is a major shift in story, but buckle in and you will quickly understand why this choice was made.
    All other elements (graphics, animation, acting) are all noticeably better than the first game, with the notable exception of gameplay. I feel that this section could have been innovated on more than they ended up with, as it feels a bit to similar to TLOU: P1 in my opinion.     Ive just finished the game.. This game is so fcking good i really dont understand all the hate.. I understand that you may not like story, but the music, the gameplay, the atmosphere is brilliant. You cant rate it 0, 1, 2 just for the fact that you didnt like some aspects of the story. You have to count on everything (story, music, gameplay etc.) I loved every single aspect of the game! Peace

    The Last of Us Part II, on the other hand, has a much more rich, fresh and engaging plot that strikes the emotional core of the audience with exceptionally crafted drama and surprises players with a non-linear narration and shifting povs that add depth to the story. Just like The Last of Us, none of the themes are particularly new, but the way they're presented and depicted is superb, really accentuating the potential of videogames as an artistic medium. The only real flaw in the story is that whereas the first The Last of Us dealt with a thought-provoking moral dilemma that only emerged in the last sequence as coronation of a journey that was about characters first and foremost, The Last of Us Part II revolves almost entirely around a moral dilemma, which also serves as cornerstone of the story itself from the start. As such, one could criticize that the story is thematically redundant.
    Because of its complexity and depth, The Last of Us Part II has a much heavier story than the first game. Heavy not only from an emotional standpoint, but alas also from a replayability standpoint: there are many unskippable story sequences and flashbacks where you don't get to actually play but only listen to characters giving exposition and talking as you walk, so subsequent playthroughs can get pretty tedious and boring during said sections, and sadly they're not few.
    But that is a really minor problem. The major, ugliest problem of The Last of Us Part II's gameplay is simple, and arrived under the guise of an amelioration: the bigger, ambitious size of the areas.
    The more powerful consoles allowed Naughty Dog to create bigger, more open environments to place enemies and make the player fight them. This is exciting at first, but in higher difficulties you start to notice a plethora of cracks: firsly, enemies can spot you from extremely far, which is realistic, but the level design often doesnt offer enough options to hide from all the enemies scattered in these enormous areas, and thus some levels become a frustrating trial and error party until you find one of the extremely few acceptable paths to remain stealth. Secondly, areas are so big that enemies might take as much as five minutes to complete their path loop, so if you want to figure them out to proceed with care you'll need a frustrating amount of time. Thirdly, areas are sometimes so big that you can attack an enemy recklessly, thus revealing your position to all enemies, but then you can just run far away enough for them to lose your location because the enemy AI simply refuses to leave a specific zone within the area, so you can easily exploit this to repeat this process over and over. As big as these issues are, what The Last of Us Part II does right is so incredibly fun and addicting that this game still achieves the same level of quality of the first game.
    The cycle of scavenging>battle with humans>scavenging>battle with zombies proves once again to maintain the experience fresh and never boring, especially with the new interesting varieties of zombies that require some more strategic thinking and the new possibility to dodge physical attacks, rewarding quick reflexes and making hand to hand combat a much more worthwile, exciting option in encounters. Another thing that keeps the experience always fresh and interesting is the optimal amount of upgrades: so many different weapons and armaments unlocked throughout the experience almost constantly giving players new options to approach threats, so that the extreme length of the game doesnt become cause of boredom but of great joy.
    As much as I've criticised the level design when it comes to stealth approach in open areas, everything else about it has improved: thanks to breakable windows and ropes, exploring the ruined Seattle while scavenging is fun and rewards the keen eye, and to find a way onward and solve environmental puzzles you actually need to use your head towards an almost-always satisfying solution. Safes and the hunt for their combination is fun, but a little bit overused.
    Or, in other words: The Last of Us Part II is a powerful and poignant story thanks to great characters and their internal journeys, but sometimes ilfully prioritizes it over the game, resulting in sequence that are tedious on playthroughs focused on the gameplay. As a game it remains on the great quality of the first chapter because as much as the level design notably and repeatedly suffers from areas that are unnecessarily big, the extreme variety of the experience both regarding enemies and player options, and the depth of its strategic and explorative possibilities is such that the overall experience remains one of pure shooting and stealth fun    … Expand

And since this is a Naughty Dog game with characters written with love, it is worth understanding characters and watching their sorrowful adventure unfold. It is honestly depressing how brilliantly crafted games like these get hate, yet garbage like Assassin's Creed maintains a strong following. Deserved GOTY.… Expand

    Overall this game is the perfect sequel to the first TLOU, where everything is more complex and simply better.

The Last of Us Part II is a complicated, compelling adventure exploring the darkest sides of human nature, the effects of trauma, how factions and personal association fuel our bias, PTSD, and most importantly, how we heal from our grief and internal anguish. To quote Troy Baker, the voice of fan-favorite character Joel: "If we have done our job right, people will question everything. I want [players] to be able to challenge their own ideas about what this game is, what this world is, who the characters are — everything.” “I want people to go in open-minded to this story, and allow Joel and Ellie to tell their story — not the story that people think they want to be told… If people go in open-minded to this thing, I think they will have a completely different experience than if they go in close-minded.”

    Unlike the first game which chooses to deliver its narrative in a condensed, easily digestible manner, Part II truly wants you to think about the intense decisions of its characters and ask yourself questions about it. Where Part | is a consumable story about very well-written characters following basic story tropes, Part II is a terrifying dive into how what we know and what we feel conflict in the face of our better judgment. Asking a player to understand and experience its characters despite how they feel about them is Part II's greatest risk, and by proxy, the reason its so divisive (among other less credible reasons we'll get into). But in my opinion, it's quite possibly its greatest strength. In this gripping 20+ hour narrative, the player will experience desperate stealth-survival gameplay which left me nearly breathless after every encounter and close call. The graphics imagine a forgotten world reclaimed by nature while showing the pockets of humanity trying to preserve what they no longer have. Every character, object, and animation is filled with immersive detail. It always made me smile when Ellie would tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear from falling over her face after a large jump, and it always made me wince with phantom pain when a buried my switchblade into an unsuspecting enemy's throat. The story won't work for everyone: It's not the safe crowd-pleasing sequel all die-hard fans of the original wanted. But sometimes to truly say something significant, you have to challenge your audience. And The Last of Us Part II challenges its audience and characters more than any piece of media I've ever seen.

    Synopsis:

    Gameplay 9/10: Desperate, brutal, creative, and very in-depth, with the first game's low-ammo vs lots of enemies style gameplay turned up to 11. New features like going prone, breaking windows,
    and crafting silencers and explosives allow a much wider variety of ways to take down or sneak past your foes. New infected types bring new challenges while the old ones are revamped for a better challenge. Human enemies are more tactical and come in different varieties depending on the faction you're in combat with. Avoiding dogs, pulling out arrows, and fighting a brute head-on all kept my adrenaline up. Outside the combat includes simple but enjoyable puzzles to give you a break from the violence. One of my favorite features is the ability to crack safes without clues by listening very carefully for the right combination. Despite this, the combat becomes a bit monotonous around the 3/4 mark. The game allows you to collect new weapons and earn new skills but they don't do quite enough to shake up the gameplay in a 20+ hour experience.

    Graphics and Animation 10/10: A very beautiful game filled with creative scenery and extensive detail. You have to play it to really get the experience. (To give a simple reference for how intricate this game's visuals are: The characters will breathe heavily through their mouth when running or in combat, and quietly through the nose when in stealth or not exerting themselves).

    Story 8.5/10: Unlike the beat-by-beat cinematic pacing of the first game you might find in a 1 1/2 hour movie, Part II is structured more like a 600-page novel that both works in favor and against the exploration of its characters. While not as clear-cut and straightforward as its predecessor, Part II offers a deep dive into its concepts and leaves the player with a lot to think about, despite unfortunately dragging its feet in some areas. As for the "SJW trash agenda" that negative reviews like to bring up when claiming the game has a terrible narrative: Yes, the game has a lesbian protagonist, a bisexual supporting character, and a character that struggles with gender identity. All of these are character traits and do not affect the overall story. If you genuinely believe the game is ruined because the female main character also likes women, you really need to rethink your priorities.    … Expand

This game is 10/10 truly has a really good experience and it may make you feel depressed, but brings up to yourself to think that life is really godam good, do not waste it, learn when to move on, and no youre not alone, theres always someone there for you    … Expand

You play the game alternating between two main female protagonists, Ellie Williams, and Abby Anderson. The main objective in the game for both protagonists is to get revenge on the people who wronged them. For Abby, she kills Joel Miller, the father figure of Ellie who murdered Abby's father in events 5 years before this game. For Ellie, it is finding Abby and those she was with when they killed Joel and doing the same to them. The story is an intriguing mix of close relationships and strong female leads. Each main protagonist has a group of friends that will do anything to help them enact their revenge. As you play as Ellie you track down Abby's friends and begin to kill them one by one ultimately leading to you trying to find and kill Abby. Meanwhile, Abby learns of her friends dying at Ellie's hands and returns the favor by killing Ellie's best friend Jesse and injuring another friend named Tommy, who was Joel's brother. Throughout these exchanges of killings, Ellie is becoming more and more obsessed with obtaining her revenge. Abby, who has achieved her goal, is trying to survive and meets a young boy named Lev and his sister. When Lev's sister dies, Abby begins to take care of the boy and tries to find them safety by finding the group called the fireflies. As they are searching for the group, they are abducted, tortured, and starved by a gang of outlaws. When Ellie finally catches up to Abby, she finds her and Lev malnourished and starving, their lives barely hanging by a thread. After a quick fight between Ellie and Abby, Ellie decides to let them live as she has realized all that she has lost on her quest for revenge. Her best friend was killed and her girlfriend left her because of how obsessed she was. If she killed Abby, the boy Lev would also die because he needed Abby to protect him. Ellie did not want any more blood on her hands and did not want to be the cause of a boy dying who had done no harm to her. When Ellie returns to Jackson, she finds an empty house with no loved ones left to care for her. Her quest for revenge had led her to misery. Abby and Lev try and continue to find the fireflies, but they are both very sick and weak and have an uphill battle to climb. Abby's quest for revenge led many of her friends to die because they helped her and this put her on a path of misery just like Ellie's. The overall theme I took from this game was that obsession with revenge can lead us to more grief than it would if we would be able to forgive and move on. Both female leads are strong characters who can fight and survive just as well as any man. This is a great representation of women in a field where many protagonists are strong males while women are often looked at as weak or needing to be saved. Overall, this story has a lot of deep messages about the consequences of obsession and revenge and the power of forgiveness.… Expand

    Une suite incroyable au premier. Les personnages sont approfondis, l'histoire est bien construite, le jeu a une bonne durée de vie pour un jeu linéaire (environ une trentaine d'heures). Je ne comprends pas comment il a pu recevoir autant de critiques aussi négatives. Si vous ne l'avez pas encore fait, foncez et faites-vous votre propre avis car pour moi il en vaut carrément la peine.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
