The King of Fighters XV

King of Fighters XV is definitely one of the best fighting games out there, with a great variation of different characters to choose from. Unfortunately, it also suffers from some terrible design choices especially when trying to make up for the lackluster graphics.

While there are some elements of KOFXV I wish were given more attention to, it's great characters, eye-catching visuals, and intricate yet engaging gameplay make it appealing to both veteran players and newcomers alike.

The King of Fighters XV is a solid and very fast fighting game that tests your skills. It shows how such a long-lived saga can evolve without losing its essence. Although it offers little content for casual players, the graphical upgrade, new mechanics, and rollback netcode makes the difference. All these changes are noticeable and put the franchise in the right direction.

A great fighting game, with solid mechanics and a satisfying roster. Auto combos are not a great solution when it comes to accessibility, but it's not as if their addition ruins the overall experience.

The King of Fighters XV doesn't try to appeal to a wider audience, giving us interesting and complex mechanics which aren't really presented in an accessible manner. Long-time fans of the franchise will find some genuine enjoyment and improvements, especially regarding the graphical upgrade, which truly gives new life to these 3D models. It's just about enough to keep SNK's franchise competing for the title.

King of Fighters XV is a continuist work, but that does not mean that it is irremediably good in almost all its sections. The mechanics, controls and ease of execution of combos make the game a delight of its genre, coming to have a difficulty curve quite affordable for players who want to get into this wonderful community such as fighting.

Unfortunately, KoF XV is not the big revolution it could have been. The title feels more like a slightly polished version of its predecessor, albeit with somewhat less content and scope. A no-brainer for fans of the series (especially because of the rollback netcode). But those who are not enthusiasts of the franchise will probably be happier with another current representative of the genre.

The King of Fighters XV is a fun, deep fighting game with a promising online infrastructure. The proposal would certainly have deserved greater attention on the content front, both in terms of story mode and tutorials, but the overall result still has all the credentials to offer fans a more than pleasant experience. This is mainly due to the merits of a solid gameplay that respects the canons of the series, with changes that do not alter the historical soul much. We would certainly have appreciated a few more interventions, for example as regards the holds, but we are sure that the result will still be able to offer fans a good concert of satisfactions.
