Disclosure: I have only played around 15 18-hole rounds so far and I haven't poured more than 2 hours into the designer.

With that out of the way, I really like this game. Coming from a Tiger Woods PGA Tour (and Rory's) background I found the game more true to life and absolutely more challenging. That is to be expected since TGC2019 is more of a simulation than EA sports golf title

I'm just gonna list some pros and cons rather than writing a review.

    ** PROS
    - Probably the best simulation of golf on PS4
    - Course designer
    - Challenging and rewarding experience

    ** CONS
    - Graphics, well rather some of the animations are a little iffy
    - Presentation, commentary is really boring

All in all, I am enjoying this game and I can't wait to dive into societies online and the course designer

This is a great game. Period.

I've no idea why it hasn't gotten the love it deserves. The decision making process legitimately feels like what I would go through on the actual course, and the physics are actually dead sound. Thankfully the video game version of me will never move the hands too far inside, or cock the wrists too early.

I've not explored the course designer yet, but I love the courses people have created here. It makes for endless replay value. The graphics are solid - not groundbreaking, but they don't take anything away either. Commentary I can take or leave (usually leave as I keep the sound off and just listen to music while playing), though the sardonic quips make me laugh from time to time.

So what it comes down to is that this is an excellent golf sim. One step below actually going to a virtual golf simulator and taking swings for yourself. There are a ton of courses, ton of options, and you will actually have to apply your knowledge of the game and some course management to do well. It reminds me of Jack Nicklaus Golf from way back in the day - which is a great thing.

I got this game for $15. Even at triple the price, it would have been well worth it. Pick it up, and don't listen to the those who are looking for an arcade golf game. This is a great golf sim.

The gameplay is awesome in my opinion. I also love the created courses and most other features. If you are like me, you play games to progress and keep track of records. This is a major area this game falls flat. Head to head mode is a huge addition to this years game and it just cant do the simple things right. Win three games and it may give you one win and four losses. Very frustrating. The gameplay is awesome in my opinion. I also love the created courses and most other features. This is honestly the only downside of this game.

This is the best golf game around. The people who give it low ratings did not take the time to properly learn the controls of the game and just whine that its too hard. The controls arent even that difficult if you're willing to put more than 10 minutes into it and do the tutorials.

I feel compelled to write something about this game because it hasn't gotten much exposure and it is actually a fantastic game. In the prior games I felt like it was very difficult to gauge shots, (especially putting) but this one feels perfect and fair. My only gripe with the game is the commentary which is fine but it would be nice to have the guys from PGA broadcasts calling the shots. This feels like a natural evolution of the Tiger Woods series and that was exactly what I have been waiting for. Expand

I am only in my infancy on The Golf Club 2019 and have fortunately never owned a previous version of this series, so the initial selling price doesn't put me off as much as it will others. What the previous owners of the PGA Tour license did with their games was a disgrace, making arcade golf game time after time, similar to how they treat other modern sports. Hopefully the new license can be expanded to further courses in the future but having paid the full value for the initial game I will not be spending on any future possible add ons. I will enjoy what I have. A solid golf game with endless playability.

This game lacks SO many features that make a fun golf game.
the swing mechanic is so boring and easy, its just not fun. misses the extra interactivity other games have that involve you through out the shot.
lack of courses, brand names, and pro characters in the game make this game feel vacant. on top of that...you can not escape how lack luster this game is when you are constantly

on top of that...you can not escape how lack luster this game is when you are constantly reminded by the SUPER bad swing they mocapped for the animation. it looks so amateur....its the nail in the coffin for the game for me.

i SO wish i bought a hard copy so i could at least trade it in for something better. unfortunately i bought a digital code.

final note...this game would be good at $15-20, but at $50, i would say, spend your money elsewhere. this game is just not fun.

This game is a coin flip whether it is a 7/10 very enjoyable game or an 8/10 must play or own game. Some improvements should be made, however, as is, I would highly recommend this game to golf lovers because it is quite a decent sim and if you learn the controls you can do almost any shot. There are a lot of modes to play through and you can make and play other people's courses. The commentary is pretty decent but to be honest a little on the boring side. What I like best about this game is it prompts your intellect on each shot as in real life golf. The bad of this game is that the crowd looks terrible and uninspired and I don't feel the wind or the traps portray themselves accurately. The graphics on this game are far superior to ps3/xbox 360 generation. In the end I think there is room for improvement within the series in presentation but the golf itself is quite addictive. It would score even higher with successful integration of move controllers. For now I'd say it's a strong recommendation but a gamer should realize it's not quite perfect yet. Still, I've been able to get rid of many of my old console golf games this one has made many of them no longer necessary as it does do a lot of stuff drastically better than a lot of games. Course loading screens also are very fast. Do yourself a favour and check videos on this game it's fairly decent and I found it definitely worth my time. Expand

There is a definite learning curve which feels justified and rewarding once you start picking it up. This isn't like most games where you spend points and then your player can become a golf god.

If you are purely a career mode player, it may feel a bit like a good start without being fully polished. But there is enough there to keep you interested. The clothing customization is also pretty fun and far deeper than any other similar sim I've played. Also, for those with more understanding of golf course architecture, the course builder is pretty robust. I have played some beautifully challenging created courses.

Bottom line, if you have a golf itch, this will certainly scratch it. You may just have to put in some time first.

I'm extremely miffed. I just bought the game which was a waste of $66.99CAD. I started character creation and when I got to the clothing section, guess what? I didn't think of looking if you actually begin with cash, but seriously? Even if you get cash from tournaments, extremely inconvenient for players who aren't that good at these games (like myself). Why couldn't they at least give a decent choice of apparel and perhaps MAYBE add exclusive items in the shop? I was extremely disappointed and wish I could get a full refund. I wish I didn't have to give such a negative review especially because Golf is my all-time favorite sport. A game where the majority of character creation is hidden behind a paywall should not exist. I'd hate to see what else is hidden behind a paywall. I honestly would not recommend this game. Expand

very good game it takes time to learn. One must hit good shots to play and win. It would be nice to have more golf courses like St. Andrews or Royal Troon to give some more variety.

really pleasantly surprised with this one. I just picked it up because it was on sale and it's super fun. it's difficult, specifically putting, but it's honestly comparable to what it'd be like to be out on the course. lots of course options and users can share their own custom courses too.

The Golf Club 2019 featuring PGA Tour is far from what the official series was delivering when it was between the hands of EA. Today, it feels more like an indie game with a very limited budget that has an official sticker on its box.

The Golf Club 2019 is a very good golf game, which shines in particular by its game system that is both realistic and rewarding. It does not hustle the codes, but offers an infinite renewal, thanks to its system of procedural generation in addition to the official courses of the PGA Tour. The loading times also benefit from a particular optimization and are non-existent during play, which favors concentration.
