Surely this DLC featuring for Kidman can be better than the main game. This chapter has one atmosphear more terrorifing and is more survival than The evil Whitin of Sebastian Castellanos. The game has one duration very aceptable.

Another example of DLC which has been potentially edited out of the original game. The Evil Within was convoluted garbage which relied on excessive gore instead of narrative and gameplay. Kidman's DLC tries to help explain the (ridiculous) goings on at the asylum. All I can say is... WOW!!! I thought The Evil Within itself was amazing, but, to top it off, they add a DLC that even extends the awesome environment and storyline of this incredible thrill ride of a game! What makes this game more enticing than the full story of the 'main' game itself is the fact that it doesn't utilize (barely at all) a combat system. Stealth, in this game, is what makes us cringe in fear of what would be utterly okay at best enemies if we had more combat (see first game). Hiding from terrifying enemies in close quarters is what made me want to stand still in my tracks, although that would cause a game over. Good plot point, good gameplay and amazing strides and what would be an uplifer for this game. Expand

The DLC is below my expectations. The price is low and I'm a fan of the series so I gladly give it 8. But for me to completely abandon the action aspect, to give it a stealth, not it makes a lot of sense. It is not on par with the part with Sebastian, which for me remains 10 and praise

Roughly three-and-a-half hours, The Assignment proves quite the paradigm shift however, with stealth pushed to the forefront seeing as how Juli is virtually unarmed throughout her entire journey, save for a trusty flashlight and her own wit. As such, you’ll be doing a lot of time sneaking about and luring enemies using your voice Expand

Those who loved the mechanics of the original title may not appreciate the big changes in this DLC. Conversely, those who are looking for a stealth and extremely more tense experience than the adventure of Castellanos, will find this new adventure amazing.

There's nothing horribly wrong with The Assignment, but the instant death rules that I disliked about The Evil Within continue to plague the DLC, making Kidman's story one of frustration and retries.

While it only lasted a handful of hours, The Assignment ended up being a refreshing counterpart to The Evil Within, rather than being labeled as ‘just more of the same’.
