Tetsumo Party does offer some thrills, despite the small package and cheap price tag. There's fun to be had with a chaotic coop mode and single player does offer some returning value. It runs out of gas fairly quickly but, in short bursts, it can be enjoyable. I do wish the game was more pleasing to look at but there's definitely something to this. Pity there's not more meat to it.

It is an addictive game, but some people may not enjoy doing the same things over and over, and for that reason I can see it becoming too tedious for a lot of players. But as a fun, casual, couch co-op game, I think Monster Couch did a great job.

If you're looking for a must-have local multiplayer game then Tetsumo Party isn't that but it is fun for the few minutes that it lasts.

The game is incredibly slight; beyond some unlockable characters, it's likely you and your pals will grow tired of the concept very quickly. There are no other modes, no tortured storyline to follow -- just position your sumo correctly until you fail. You do so with the shoulder buttons, but while it's very simple, in practice it's fiddly and not particularly intuitive. There isn't even any music to enjoy while you wrestle your character into shape. For those looking for a new party game to play with some chums, this is certainly different, but you'll be done with it faster than it takes you to buy it.
