To be honest, for the first time, I don't know if I like this game. I have played though it twice, and I still feel like there was just something missing for me to fully enjoy it. A lot of it's concepts are nice, but it is too repetitive and too short for me to recommend it. Pick it up once the price hits $20 or so, And this is from someone who loves platinum too. The graphics and controls are good. However, the gameplay is repetitive, short and boring. Maybe kids will like this one, but there isn't much here for anyone else. Frankly, there just isn't enough to it. If it's over $20, you're paying too much.

I wouldn't give this game a terrible score, but its for sure not a great game. I have only tried the first boss, and I have to say its not worth the price tag.

The game play is very disappointing, because your literally running around the level looking for enemies to take out. I was expecting game play similar to Turtles the arcade game or Turtles in Time but in 3D. It was by pure luck

The game play is very disappointing, because your literally running around the level looking for enemies to take out. I was expecting game play similar to Turtles the arcade game or Turtles in Time but in 3D. It was by pure luck I figured out I could climb walls, to get to the roof to take out the missing enemies to complete the level!

The boss fights are your typical sponge bosses, but I think there is way too much focus on using ninja magic over classic attacks. The levels honestly felt unfinished, and not even used. The enemies were very sparse, which probably has to do with each level as Time Attack game play.

The graphics for the cut scenes are very nostalgic, reminds me of the old TV show with more updated graphics. The actual in game graphics are not too bad, but nothing to write home about.

The overall Voice acting does seem really great. I honestly have not played it enough to rate the sound effects or music as of yet.

I am sure some of you will ask why would you review a game your barely played, and that's because of buyer beware. If your looking for a game that will play like a Nes or Snes beat em up side scroll then look elsewhere, but if you don't care about game play and only want to experience the story then this may be the game for you. I have no idea why some of these reviews are rating this game as amazing, because the game play is terrible. It's obvious some people buy whatever crap is handed out and then praise it.

I was really hoping for a remake of an old school game, not some simplified time attack game where you rely more on magic attacks than attacking and dodging during the boss battles. The boss fights in Turtle games felt rewarding when they were finished!

I have no idea why they wouldn't make a turtles game with the amount of detail Batman Rocksteady series games are, because I guarantee that would sell. I am sure you would still have people complain they are copying Batman combat, but allot of games do and are still sold well.

I am giving this game a 5 for the audio, graphics, and the effort for their work. The terrible game play in all honesty takes away 5 ratings.

There will be no replay value, because I don't care about a score based on rushing as fast as you can through each level. This is supposed to be a beat em up game, not a racing game. A score system makes sense for a game where your skill at attacking, dodging and countering, as well as combination of attacks effect your overall rating.

I see myself playing this game once to experience the story then getting rid of this game. it's really sad that no old school IP's can seem to make a game with rewarding game play accept for Batman!

I don't know about you guys, but I expect to get more out of my money than a very short un rewarding game. If I am buying a game for any money I would expect it to work, have some form of fun, and above all not feel like I wasted my money.

    Buyers Beware!

Mutants in Manhattan in an open worldish beat em up staring the ninja turtles…
At first I was really impressed with this game..
You can climb up any and every wall.. You can use your shell to float across the Manhattan sky...
You can find charms to boost health and skills...
Spend points on new moves and freely level up these special moves as well as customize the 4 turtles specials in any way you please…
You can also freely switch through the 4 turtles at any time…
Unfortunately, after level 1 of 9, you’ve practically seen it all…
Every stage has its own boss…
To get to a boss you have to complete random tasks that pop up in these pretty dull open levels…
There is really nothing more to it than randomly take out these bad guys.. Protect this item... pick up that item and take it there... defuse the bombs... rinse and repeat for every level
There is no redeemable qualities in the gameplay…
Not even 4 player online co-op can save it, as it’s the same thing but with friends…
it’s flat out boring and monotonous…
Just wait for a call… go to the spot the activity is taking place... collect some green orbs for combat boosts, weapons, or health…
And do this until you’re told to go to the boss’s layer...
The boss fights are appreciated… it’s nice to see such a variety of characters... but only a couple feel different than the rest…
But all 9 really come down to just spamming attacks until their 5 life meters drain…
Which brings me to the trophies and achievements...
There are a handful that require certain shots during the brief second snap shots are taken after a boss is defeated…
these trophies are near impossible and I can’t see anyone getting any joy out of hunting for this games platinum…
The best part of this game is hands down the cut scenes..
At the very least they exist...
But the story and humor is poorly written…
Just your predictable beat all the bad guys then beat the baddest of the bad guys, the end.
I give Teenage mutant ninja turtles: Mutants in Manhattan

Now to the game; the gameplay is your typical hack n slash, button touch and combos. cool! right? but with upgrade skill leveling automated and be able to only switch characters for different levels or if you die within in the level it will automatically switch to another character is a downfall, I rather be able to pick which turtle i’am after i die. The missions are short and the bosses have no challenging factor giving that you have 5 lives for the whole game in which every turtle has to die in order for you to lose a life. Thats suck? Not at all it’s an easy game. However, the comic like graphics are pretty cool and color scheme for the combat is pretty neat, given that the game is a drag and really really short and has poor level design. Besides my rant; multiplayer with your friends is the way to go, playing alone can get old (well not really with how short the missions are) but this is not worth your money unless your looking for quick game for you and your friends to play. 6.7/10 Expand

This game is not as bad as the critics say. Most of them are saying all they had to do is hit one button then do a special and repeat to defeat the mobs with no dodging or parring involved. The boss are the best part of this game and are quite enjoyable.

Another blemish on PlatinumGames once spotless record. It's got the fan service thanks to it's roster of familiar TMNT bad guys and allows you to play as four turtles on the fly. However the execution here is just off. The story is bland, but there's some humorous turtle banter to keep you from skipping the cutscenes.

The gameplay is a jumbled, thrown together mess. With all four turtles being onscreen at the same time the action is just too cluttered. I often found myself losing track of the turtles I was playing as. In their previously lackluster games, like The Legend of Korra for example, even when everything else was falling short Platinum at least created an enjoyable combat system to back things up. That isn't the case here.

It's not actually bad, but there's no reason to do anything more than button mash. It's not a challenging game at all, especially since the other turtles are always around to back you up. I have to praise their AI. You aren't just babysitting the brothers here. They are completely competent on their own and do a great job of having your back.

The co-op aspect of the game is also appreciated. It's online-only, but getting together with some buddies can make bring a few hours of laughs before the credits roll, and I do mean only a few hours. This isn't a lengthy game at all and I breezed through it in no time.

Almost the whole experience follows a simple formula. You're dropped off into a semi-open area and play randomized missions until the boss shows up. These boss fights are the meat of the game. The rest of the stuff just feels like filler to extend the length of the game. The bosses themselves require no more strategy then the regular, bland enemies. Just blow your way through them mashing buttons. It's cool to see some familiar faces though.

It also helps that these faces look good. The environments are a little bland, but the characters themselves look great. It definitely looks like a TMNT show or comic book. However the bright and colorful cell-shaded graphics only add to the visual noise of the gameplay. Much of the action isn't just obscured by the other characters, but by the bright flashes of color as well.

Given that it's so short, Platinum tried to add some replay value. They did so with the pre-boss fight missions being random and throwing some secret boss fights a second time around. However both efforts are kind of lackluster. The missions themselves might be different, but they all follow the same handful of types. The secret boss battles basically just come down to one of them being joined by another character. I personally didn't fin the experience fun enough the first time around to bother with a second playthrough. I imagine many will feel the same way.

PlatinumGames falls into the familiar licensed game trapping with this one. Gone is the sense of originality and innovation that made their original IPs so darn good. It's rushed, thrown together, and all around sloppy. It's got some minor thrills thanks to the license, and there's a certain mindless appeal to slicing through cool villains brainlessly pushing buttons and firing off rechargeable special attacks. Bringing together some friends can make for a lazy afternoon gaming session. However none of that changes the fact that Platinum didn't really try with this one. They just slapped their name and the TMNT brand on a mediocre product. Even hardcore TMNT fans should give this one a hard pass.

The game would be a lot better if: 1. The enemies were not HP sponges on hard and very hard mode. 2. There was an option to not play cutscenes at all, and also skip credits.

It's a fun game for any TMNT fan.

Better than the 2003 TMNT games (also the Ubisoft and Activision era) but worse than the '90 Konami games. However if you hate the new comic/cartoon style or simply you seek for a Turtles in Time in 3D this is not the game for you.
