At $30, the game is definitely pricey, and though the multiple expansions helps compensate for that, the only people I can really see utilizing them are those who are already fans of the board game to begin with. If you fit into that category or are simply looking for a fun, no-frills digital board game experience, Talisman is one of the better options out there.

Talisman: Digital Edition offers a very full package, including as it does the main game plus all the expansion packs. If you’re a fan of the boardgame this is a faithful conversion and an excellent way to play more of it, if you’re new to the game this is a good way to play it as the PlayStation 4 automates much to make the experience user friendly.

Talisman is a classic board game, and deserves respect for that. It’s also eminently playable to this day, and very easy to pick up and play; it’s a genuinely good game for lazy Sundays with friends. But it’s also not the perfect game, nor is this port the perfect port. And sadly that means that Talisman on PlayStation 4 won’t win over a new generation of fans to the game.

A digital version of a classic board game that is fun though it doesn't change much.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find it includes a lot of the expansions, so a good price too for the content included. If you like fantasy adventure, RPGs or board games you'll love this. Expand

Personally I have never played the board game, but from conversations I have had with different friends who have played the original game and the PS4 version, I have been told that the PS4 version is true to the table, so I acquired the game, especially to play with them online and I have to admit that I liked the game a lot. It's fun, strategic and hassle-free. If you and your friends like board games and console games, this game is sure to please you. Expand

Let me start by saying I played the board game with some friends and had a blast.

You play the game as a virtual board game. like you would play monopoly.
the upside to this is it comes with all the expansions the board game had.

Graphics, it's ok for a virtual board game but I do wish they would make the writing bigger for those who have smaller screens.

Sounds, with sound on this game it definitely makes it more fun to hear the clash or hits of a fight, it's to bad you don't see a general visual to go with it, besides the card vs card look.
No music or sound really pop out at you if you are playing this game for the first time.

Gameplay, it starts with trying to get the crown to get it you move your character on the outer ring of the board each space either says draw a card for an event or comes with an event. you move in either direction and can fight other players. to get to the 2nd ring you need either use a boat or fight a guardian who is tough. once at the 2nd ring you need to get to the 3rd ring you need to either force your way through a gate or blast it with magic there are more ways to get to the next ring's but I don't remember. once at the 4th ring you need to roll to get to the crown and win but you need the talisman to go with it before that and once you have it each turn you can cast a spell to hit each character for 1 life.

Overall, it's not a bad game with friends if you solo this game it is boring. you may have fun the first few times but you'll get tired of it.
