This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is such a fun game. The retro 2D pixel graphics are spot on. It's so much fun to rewind time and play alongside yourself as another character. The kooky plot is amusing and the characters pretty funny too. Me and my 2 young children love playing this together. Such a laugh! The way you can unlock new characters in the game by saving their lives, then rewind time and play as them before they've even been rescued is a master-stroke. (You can even have a character help to rescue theirself!) A real gem in the indie game crowd. Expand

This is a great indie game. The time mechanic is just perfect, the art style fits perfectly with the tone of the game, and the dialogs are so funny. If you got the opportunity to grab this game, just do it, is worth it.

At first I thought the game was going to be difficult due to how you're able to mess with time, which later became simple and then found the game to be to easy once you figure out how this game works and what every character did.

There are many different characters you could collect to use on the battlefield such as a Dolphin who fires an Lmg, or a Dinosaur riding a skateboard, and a whole lot more of crazy creatures n people.

Not sure whether to start considering the game easy, since I haven't done the Hardcore mode yet. From the regular difficulty you could pause, rewind, and then summon another troop to control for more than 30 times, and these levels end pretty quick.

The humor is just ridiculous the only two characters that have any dialogue are the both opposing Commanders who like to mention time in like every sentence. The reason for you doing your missions are just silly for a team that's trying to save the world.

Super Time Force is an interesting game that I'm glad that I got to receive for free.
If you got Ps plus, give this game a go!

One of the best indie games i've played. Action-packed, super fun game with wide variety of characters and very good humor. Stands right next to Hotline Miami 1/2 in my list. Highly recommended

Awful game. Overly complex and stupid time controls, swapping characters and a constant count down clock make for a frustrating game. This game seriously sucked. Story and dialogue was funny, liked different time period based levels. Didn't mind the terrible over-pixelated graphics like some people. The rewind mechanic is overly complicated and finicky. The problem wouldn't even be bad but for no apparent reason they add a 60 second time limit to every level and boss fight. It makes no sense and takes all fun out of the game. During regular levels it isnt so bad, but just forces you to rush through level as quickly as possible. During boss fight it ruins the game. You never had enough time bc the bosses have huge health, fly around, and have tiny hitboxes on certain spots you have to aim at with the terrible imprecise aiming controls. This means you could be 3/4 out of time and realize you haven't done enough damage for time limit and have to start it all over again which is so dumb. But with the mechanic it makes game super repetitive. For boss fights, you go through 10 seconds of shooting him, then rewind, go through it again with another character, then rewind again, then do it with another character. Then youve passed that 10 seconds and the other characters are gone and you have to rinse and repeat this. It super annoying and gets old fast, and the added unnecessary time limit makes it unbearable on boss fights. I got sick of repeating boss fights 100 times with different characters replaying only to not kill in the appropriate time limit. It's not inherent difficulty, even with the 1 hit kill, its just added repetition the game forces on you with the mechanic, but especially the time limit. Pass on this turd. Expand

Concept of time travelling has been involved in movies and games many many times, 95% of them are craps. Do you really think this game with his cheap rewind mechanic will turn the tables ?

It does look like dogturd. Had the developers gone that extra mile and put a glossy finish and some slightly better sounds on the game, it would have merited the £13.99 asking price, considering MGS ground zero was in the same price range. I think PS4 owners deserve great indie games, but again this could have been released as an Android App and work just as well.

That said, I've given this a mediocre score as it is playable and fun for free, a good afternoons gaming to be had.

But, I just think they could have executed this better, without slowing down the gun n' run gameplay. Aside from that though, the game does offer plenty of levels and a pretty sizable roster of characters, which you unlock along the way. This is actually a great game for speedrunners, and does provide a fair bit of challenge at some points. 7/10 Expand

It isn't amazing but it isn't terrible. The whole "timeout" mechanic is by far the best thing about this game. I definitely found it challenging (and rewarding) to use the timeout mechanic to complete certain levels. The retro-themed levels themselves look great. I died way too many times in this game which was quite frustrating. I wish there was a health bar which would have to be depleted for you to die. Furthermore there were situations where too much was happening on the screen (explosion, deaths, gun shots, etc.), making it difficult to track where my character was. All in all, it's an alright game. Expand

Slightly steep learning curve and getting used to the controls, but once you do -- there's a lot of fun to be had. The game looks good with a fun aesthetic, the music is great and the controls, even though complicated, feel very responsive. It's a very fun to play game in short bursts.

There is a divide about this game in my house. I see the game as a cool idea and “meh” execution. My son loves it. He doesn’t get many of the references that makes up most of the jokes and yet he still finds the game hilarious. Unlike me, he also finds the game to be really fun.

The concept is novel but not unique. You control a poorly pixelated time agent with the ability to make a duplicate of yourself or another time agent. The duplicate acts as you did before you created it. In this manner, you can creat up to 30 duplicates to fight a single boss character and “melt” them, as they say. Like most games, you are guaranteed to win if you spend enough time restarting and re-trying.

The game has a hint of strategy. One time agent makes a shield, and you can rewind time and use his shield to protect another time agent who shoots guns. Seems like a nice 1-2 punch set up until a mass of pixels flies at you. The chaotic nature of the short missions (60 seconds minimum) and clusters of pixels makes any real strategy difficult to implement. Mostly you jump and rewind time to create more time duplicates. I would love for the duplicates to appear without trouble at the touch of a button, but the mechanic is a bit finicky.

All in all this is more of a fun concept than an entire game, though the embedded humor is appreciated. Like I said, my son loves it and would probably give it an 8 out of 10. Full disclosure: this was a PS+ “free” game, and I do not feel beholden to my wallet to “get my money’s worth”.

Really enjoyed this game, except one of the last levels which were a total nightmare. The game is a fast moving game which you have several characters and you are able to manipulate time. It's an hilarious game, and is really enjoyable to play through

Clever, unique concept, cool humour, amazing gameplay. Lot of different characters to play, but much more interesting than Broforce. You definitely should try this game when it was offered on Plus.

Super Time Force Ultra is a decent porting for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The game experience is either fast and tactical thanks to time travelling and there are many different characters to control, each one with his own skills.
