Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo is a surprisingly fun shoot 'em up with more depth than you'd expect for a game at this low price.

Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo is easily worth the launch price of $4.99. Featuring a plethora of game modes and unlockables, there is a lot of unexpected depth to this simple-looking top-down space shooter. Couple that with local co-op and competitive modes, and there’s even more value to be found if you’ve got a gaming buddy. The challenging gameplay also ensures players will come back for just one more go. If you enjoy top-down, bullet hell inspired action, then check out Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo.

The strongest asset at the game’s disposal is its breadth of bite-sized content. A surprisingly solid number of ships with distinct variance complement a whole mess of game modes, including a few local multiplayer options. Most of the game modes take under a minute when you first start, and as you adapt to the game’s rhythms, you’ll start going upwards of five minutes. But ultimately, what you walk away with is a game that delivers enjoyment in small, concise doses at an exceedingly low price point. You probably won’t be thinking about it later this year once all of the big games have released, but it’s still worth a bit of your time.
