Another flop for me on this months PS+ SuperMeatBoy is an app game in both graphics and game play. It's probably got high praise from people that enjoy the flow of 90s platformers or before, such as Super Mario Bros on the Nes. I compare this as it's that repetitive knowing the levels that get you anywhere in this game. Perhaps if I was 10 again, I'd find the ease of play and fluent platforming action enjoyable, but now I'm in my 30s and time dedicated to gaming is 'My time", wasting it on such an unrewarding experience isn't going to happen. I wasted an hour on SMB, and unlocked no achievements on my PS4 and didn't feel anything for it other than regret at the hour I lost of my life playing it. Sure, it plays nicely, if it was on my Android phone I'd waste a few train journeys completing it, but it's on my PS4 and it's just another 2-bit empty platformer.

Download if free, but I'd not pay for this experience or lack of

Excellent game with the exception of the new god awful sound track.
If you were a fan of the OST skip this game as it's sounds disgusting.

I highly recommend getting the PC or Xbox 360 version, they are superior.
Looks like the greatness fairly forgot about this game.

Unless you enjoy dying over and over and over, then this game is a terrible unrewarding waste of time. This game was made to be challenging JUST for the sake of being challenging and not because it's actually good.

I understand that this game is not for everyone.
I guess I am the one it is not for, but for me this is neither a fun game nor an interesting game to play. Having read the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I was quite excited to play it, but I quickly realised that it was frustrating with little reward.

There are so many other far more interesting and stimulating games to play, that I can not understand why people would spend 45+ hours playing this one. I certainly will not, and have uninstalled the game again, spending my time playing limbo, FEZ and Stealth Inc 2 II instead, games that are challenging AND interesting.

I dig this game's style, but beyond that I find nothing worthwhile. Super Meat Boy is a bore. There's one way to complete each level, you figure it out and then you do the run over and over again until you do it without dying. No creativity, no fun.

This game is horrible! In the world that we live in, people tend to give a lot of credit to indy games and while some of them are great, some of them are crap. This falls in the latter category.

Super Meatboy is a platformer that should cost .99 cents on your phone's marketplace. You assume the role of the titular Meatboy in a quest to save your girlfriend. Meetboy can jump, walk, run

Super Meatboy is a platformer that should cost .99 cents on your phone's marketplace. You assume the role of the titular Meatboy in a quest to save your girlfriend. Meetboy can jump, walk, run and wall jump to get past obstacles in order to reach his gf. Since there is no thinking involved in any level, the game comes down to simply being able to guide Meatboy where he needs to go. This is sometimes difficult but you will eventually get it if you try enough times. If you are not bored after the first level, I will be shocked.

Cons: Repetitive game play, lacking in almost every way.
Pros: Lots of blood if you're into that, the controls are solid.

This shouldn't be called Super Meat Boy. it should be called Rubbish Meat Boy. Because it's a really bad game. Ugly graphics and bad gameplay. Like something from years ago.

Super Meat Boy is one of the most overrated games in the past couple of console generations. Its aim is to be a "tough as nails platformer", but unlike other challenging platformers (Donkey Kong Country, GnG, Adventure Island, Megaman and so forth) it forgets to be fun or give you any sense of progression. You simply die over and over (and over) again on one screen until you get it right, make it, and then move onto the next board and repeat the process until the game is complete. While you would still die a lot in the games mentioned above, at least it's not every few seconds and at least some of the enemy and item placements may change due to RNG and timing making for a more engaging/stimulating experience. With Meat Boy, there is no RNG and everything is reset to its original position upon death. If you really want to experience the video game equivalent of eating concrete, just go download I Want To Be The Guy for free. It's pretty much the same exact thing as this, but it won't cost you a dime. Expand

At last! The long-awaited PlayStation release proves that great game design never dies, and now it's even better with Cross-Buy. Fresh hell, hot from the infernal BBQ. [Dec 2015, p.79]

Super Meat Boy is an exercise in patience. You may in fact deplore it in the first one or two hours due to its unforgiving gameplay and level design, but if you take the time to consume much of what it has to offer, you may just acquire a taste for it.
