    Stardust Vanguards is a local four-player battler, where players take the role of military commanders in high-speed combat robots, engaging in heated, high-precision multiplayer dueling. Carefully hone your skills against your enemies as you slice 'em up, shoot 'em down, and even reflect incoming bullets with your attacks. Each battle becomes deceptively strategic as each player earns and summons their own personal NPC army to help them win each battle.

    The centerpiece of the game's combat is its reinforcement system. As you survive and kill off enemies, you'll earn RP (reinforcement points), which can be used to summon reinforcements into battle. The more RP you have, the bigger and badder your allies will be when you call them into battle. You can fight alongside these NPC reinforcements or hang back while they do the heavy lifting for you. The game also includes a random event system which keeps each fight unique as computer-controlled space pirates sweep in to win the battle for themselves in dozens of predetermined assault scenarios.     Stardust Vanguards is one of the few four player local duel games on the PlayStation Network Store. If you enjoyed playing Towerfall Ascension and want a game with a little more depth to it, or if you haven’t and want something to spank and trash talk your friends to whilst in the same room; this is defiantly one to check out. If you’re more of an online gamer or play for the story you should probably pass this one up.

    This is a good choice if you're looking for a good local multiplayer game with tons of options and content, but if not, it doesn't work that well.

    It’s hard to pinpoint why it suffers with fatigue quite so badly but, irrespective, it’s fully worth having in your library, albeit just for that one night in with your friends you’ll all remember for a long time to come.

    There is plenty of fun to be had here with friends, but just make sure your expectations are in line with what you will be getting here. It is fun for a while, and well made for what it is, but for a game that relies so intensely on the multiplayer action, it's just not quite up there with the best in the genre.

    Stardust Vanguards is a fairly basic couch co-op battle arena game, much like Towerfall Ascension or Duck Game, but sadly it is no where nearStardust Vanguards is a fairly basic couch co-op battle arena game, much like Towerfall Ascension or Duck Game, but sadly it is no where near as good as those two titles. The game features the 8-bit art style more similar to Towerfall's style, but is based in space. Unlockable modes and difficulty abilities are available, making for a little bit more of a diverse time, but the combat is so bland, and the character moves quite slow, and unresponsively, that the game is just not good at what it is trying to do. Not recommended.
