One of the worst games i've ever played. Do not waste your money. Not only it's buggy and glitched to the point of being nearly unplayable, the mechanisms are absolutely abysmal and the challenge level is broken. It makes you start with a highway truck on muddy roads - how is that realistic in any universe? Controller vibration is almost non-existent and I've spent most of my gameplay… Expand

If you like slow repetitive drawn out gameplay and missions, where you spend hours looking at the arse end of a vehicle crawling along at a snails pace, this game is for you. Ill stick to watching paint dry, it more entertaining. usually I am very forgiving with glitches and bugs , but it this game they break progress and really mess with the experiance.

Snowrunner is a logical continuation of Mudrunner, BUT! It become wider in all sides. More cars, more cargoes to deliver, more objectives to beat, more maps, and even progression (lvls and etc., economy)! I can't explain what make this game so attractive, but I spend there more than 500 hours and I can't stop!

It's surprising peaceful for to me and a great way to relax when everything works well. There is a lot to do. Planning a route and driving in different terrains brought enjoyment. There are a few cons. These heavy machinery don't feel heavy. When controlling them it feels too floaty and sometimes your vehilcale flips when it doesn't make sense which i believe is also due to the floatyness. Wish putting vehicles on flatbeds was more stable too. The series has been improving each game so keep up the good work just tweak the vehicle physics.

It is fascinating to see truck drivers who help us indirectly in our lives by contributing to the construction of bridges, the collapse of rocks, even the transport of consumables. And that is exactly what we are going to do in this SnowRunner, developed by Saber Interactive which is a direct sequel to MudRunner.

Bugs Bugs and more Bugs! Saber needs to fix the camera when your pulling a long trailer because the camera is all over place. BUT game is peaceful, very slow & fun. I like it, enjoy playing it and its a must buy in my opinion. Its obviously a truck simulator game so beware. I can play this game forever and it never gets old.

    1. Community mods do not work reliably and are therefore useless
I had a simple equipment mod downloaded and activated via the ingame mod browser. I bought the piece in game in the garage and fitted it to one of my trucks. It worked nice until when the next day I played the game the equipment was gone and with it my money for it. In game the piece of equipment was still available in the store but it looked like I never had bought it.
This is extremely bad because imagine your whole fleet of vehicles were modded ones and you bought them with your limited money and the next day they would all be gone!? You literally would have to start over with the game! Imagine further you would at this point have played for about 100, 200 or even 300 hours, all gone! Therefore mods are as of now for me not usable.

    2. Control scheme is in part horrible and not freely customisable
There are 4 predefined control schemes but unfortunately all of them are flawed and you can't customise them. For example in one of them the "handbrake" and the "winch release" are on the same button. So if you have the handbrake on and use the winch, as soon as you want to release the handbrake the winch will also get detached! If the controls were freely customisable one could at least correct such short comings but as of now you have to life with rubbish like this.

    3. Immersion breakers
Every fuel station, production site and quest location has some huge running yellow and/or red dotted frames on the ground. Further the borders of the areas of the maps in the game that surround the usable terrain and that you can't cross with your vehicles are bordered by huge running stop signs that hover over the earth. It all looks really ugly and immersion breaking! And there is unfortunately no way to at least disable these. I at least don't need them.

The ‘game spoiling’ problems are numerous and the developers have no interest in improving player experience at all. Problems I personally have; The Winch System: Disables itself when the vehicle rolls to an angle greater than 90 degrees. Its claimed this is a realistic element when the real life purpose of a which system to return an overturned truck to an upright position, it makes no sense for it to disable itself when the vehicle is over turned. The solution? An end game upgrade unlock meaning you have to suffer through the bulk of a play through before access to it. Crawling three quarters of a map only to role at the last moment is realistic the first time, frustrating when the truck you bring to recover it rolls in the same place trying to recover, infuriating when you are forced to fast recover the vehicles all the way back to the garage and repeat the journey again, get there only to find the warehouse doesn’t contain the options you need and nowhere is it marked what type of supplies are stored at any locations meaning its pot luck you will get the goods you need to complete the mission, only to roll again crawling to the next warehouse rinse and repeat the fury until the controller is broken. A realistic reflection of my real life failures it may be but I ask is this what you intended to deliver to the gamer? A miserable gut blow of realism in a world I came to for a fun escape from the real. This is a brutal game for a brutality sadistic gamer who is seeking to self-harm through the medium of game play. This game disgusts me, it’s an abomination, an evil so great it deserves its place in hell.

It’s got great graphics and physics though.

I got it through gamepass initially, but after playing with the logitech g923 wheel and shifter I had to give my money to them, plus I purchased all the dlc. The game is incredible deep, with lots of activities, it is also very detailed and aesthetically pleasing. The game requires tactical thinking, understanding which vehicle is best suited to the job, planning your routes is essential, and many roads, well me and you would not class them as roads. There's many upgrades and customisation available for each of the vehicles, including some great personalisation available. Initially the game is quite overwhelming, but I like a game like that. What I've come to realise quickly is its an incredibly relaxing experience. I put on my favourite artists on in the background while I play or jump into party chat with friends. With it being available on Gamepass on Xbox I would say give it a try, if you have a wheel I would say it adds massively to the immersion but a wheel is far from essential to enjoy this brilliant game. The graphics are top-notch and very easy on the eyes. Night time seemed to be a nightmare to drive in, but fortunately you can skip time easily to counteract this. Despite being very appealing, it's also very hard to tell which mud is safe to drive on and which will see you sink, which I suppose is realistic but not enjoyable for a game.

The gameplay of Snowrunner is an incredibly mixed bag. For me the steering is an absolute mess, being very slow and unresponsive. A simple act of driving down a road is a challenge. The game boasts of detail and preciseness, but in my experience it was just fiddly and monotonous. The game begins by placing you at a massive disadvantage with only a couple of underwhelming trucks. Whilst normal for most games, this turns a game like Snowrunner which is designed to be a bit of a slog into an unenjoyable slog. Progress is too slow for me to enjoy it and the missions are very banal.

Snowrunner prides itself on encouraging you to chart a path to your destination, but with the limitations of the game I didn't have many options. It should be said that I didn't make it past the first 'level' but I see it as a failure of the game to engage me as I had already invested a few hours by this point.

It could be that Snowrunner just isn't for me, and that's why I haven't lowered my score further than I have. It just seems like a missed opportunity of a game to me and I won't be seeking out any other titles in the series.

It’s not an easy game, per se, but then it never claimed to be. Once you get your head around the time and patience aspect, SnowRunner is going to engross you. It won’t win any Game of the Year awards for being niche, but then neither does Train Simulator. If you can convince some friends to join you, then even better. But even as a solo experience, there’s some absolute joy to be had when you get stuck into it.
