    BEFORE WE BEGIN:
I will preface this by saying that I have already played all the other Sniper Elite in the saga, including Sniper Elite 5, and that I am evaluating Sniper Elite 3 For Xbox One and therefore have no idea what it is like on Xbox 360 and what changes. Also, the evaluation includes Dlc’s of the game and only partially of the Multiplayer, being already dead in 2022.

    THE OUTBREAK:
The game presents itself from the start as a Sniper Elite set in Africa, with very short cutscenes and a very brief and coincidental tutorial. Essentially it presents itself as a version of Sniper Elite V2 with a different setting.

    TO THE SCOPE:
Graphically, the game features warm and bright colors, too bright, so much so that the saturation makes lit surfaces blinding, distorting shadows and colors. The graphics and animations, for a 2014 game, are among the worst at the time; Let's remember that games like GTA 5, Castlevania Lord of Shadows 2 and The Last of Us were already out.

    TO THE EARS:
The audio compartment of this game is truly pitiful, playing it with stereo headphones most of the game noises sound muffled and wrong; playing instead with surround headphones and the noises are completely off; every direction of the noises come from the opposite side of where they should be, and from completely wrong distances.

    ON BATTLEFIELD:
The game has pretty much the mechanics found in its predecessor, with some unnecessary items such as the flynt. The level design obviously does not reach that of the successor, nor does the well-designed linearity of the predecessor. There are 8 missions (12 with dlc), and they last about 15 minutes each, so the game is very short, easily completed in 3 hours.
The brand's usual co-op mode is present, plus there are the usual survival and multiplayer modes.

    ACHIEVEMENTS:
The game is easily completed 100% in about fifteen hours and it has many easy achievements. The only flaw are the game's two online achievements.

    DLC’S:
The game's dlc's are 4 additional missions, completed in less than half an hour, with very generic and forgettable missions, including the obvious target Fuhrer (among the worst in the saga in my opinion). The cost of the dlc’s is certainly not comparable to the time required for the completion.

    BUT WHY 4?

    CON:
The game really has too many, too many negative points, and I would like not to limit myself to a mere list of **** but it will be very difficult not to. Starting with the story, which is explained by cutscenes with an average duration of 4 seconds, showing silent scenes of the protagonist doing some action, poorly animated to boot. The physics of corpses, which with whatever weapon you use, will depart for space, giving rise to bugs like T-pose, ragdolls and so on. The sound system is painful, as explained earlier. The malfunctioning of the coop-single player, which requires the player to start the story over if he completes it in only one of the two modes. The AI of enemies that leaves something to be desired. The bullet feeling that completely loses the one built in sniper elite 2 and at the same time does not reach that of 4. The graphics, already dated for 2014 and the particularly poorly maintained lighting system. The setting is almost sparse and poorly maintained, with stock backgrounds and few models in general. Finally, the missions always look the same, with generic objectives requiring the player to get from point a to point b, defend an area, and little more.

    PROS:
The pros of this game are very few, the existence of co-op, which makes the whole game more fun, the music at the beginning of the game and the loading screens.

The game has many issues but overall was decent and had enough fun moments in it. However, when it was realized they did not provide me all the content they promised in the Ultimate edition, I decided to reach out to the company , to give them a chance to make it right. They did not make any effort to even reply, so with regret, I must boycott this dishonest company.

Sniper Elite V2, was a dark horse. It seemed like a Call Of Duty ripoff but was actually a pretty fun and challenging sniper game with decent mechanics and good level design.

Sniper Elite V2, was a dark horse. It seemed like a Call Of Duty ripoff but was actually a pretty fun and challenging sniper game with decent mechanics and good level design.

Sniper Elite 3 is definitely a "more of the same" game. It's actually a prequel rather than sequel, but the story is weaker than SEV2 and this time around the levels are fairly void of anything memorable unlike some very standout levels in SEV2.
That being said, the Sniper Elite series is very fun if you like stealth sniper style games. The games bring me back to days of Spec Ops on the original playstation, running around alone with limited ammo and mostly relying on a sniper rifle, being stealthy and knowing when go on the offensive. I sorely missed these types of games, so this fills a void.

The game format is essentially, 3rd person to move around levels and position yourself for shots, then a first person scope view for gunfights. There's the ability too play somewhat stealthily in these games, but there's also gunfights and assassination missions.
The main differences between Sniper Elite v2 and 3 is that th levels are now more open and less linear. This dramatically improves the stealth element of the gme as you are no lngr forced into situations where you can't sneak around or flank enemies, plus it means you can psition yourself nearer atmospheric noises to mask your sots. However I feel the sound masking was developed more with SE2 as it had levels with events such as fireworks or the bell of the church which really continued through and was a key feature of those levels. There's not really anything like that in SE3 it's just a mechanic in the levels you can choose to find and use for some kills but not all.

SE3 also fixes the issue I had with SEV2 with manual saves, allow you to no longer suffer trying to redo a 3 wave gunfight where you'd get to the very last sniper and die because you couldn't flank tham or position yourself properly, and then needing to restart the entire gunfight. Checkpoints were few and far between. SE3 allows you t save whenever you want, in addition to the checkpoints, which seem more frequent anyway. Although this also makes the game far easier as you can essentially save after every kill meaning there's no risk for any action you take.

SE3 also adds takedowns, so you can takedown an enemy by sneaking up behind them, which is a very welcome addition. The silence handgun is still there from SEV2, but I prefer the takedowns for when yoou manage to get right up to an enemy without them seeing.

Another thing to mention is the control scheme is better in SE3. The default scheme in SE2 was unpleasant and there was only one other control layout choice available, which allowed you to aim the scope with L2, but meant you lost sprint on L3. In SE3 you can sprint with L3 and aim the cope with L2. However, SE3 has gotten rid of the cover mechanic from SEV2 which I miss.

SE3 is designed to be a superior game with non-linear levels, improved controls, and more focus on the Xray bullet cam (which can start to get annoying after every kill, but you can press a button to skip them which wasn't possible on SEv2). However it also lost some of its charm with level design, the levels are less memorable and aren't as creative in terms of design.

One last thing to mention is I hate that you can't turn down the volume of the controller speaker in game. It's crazy loud and makes noises constantly. Your only option is to turn off the speakers from the PS4 for all games and not just for this game.

The games story is basic, but as good as neccesary for a game which needs its mechanics to rely on. Taking out enemy soldiers is satisfying, yet feels clunky at times. The absence of tapping to switch between shoulder view feels sloppy, and hurts the game at times. Tanks seem to have Gamma radiation sights as they can spot you within seconds from over 200 yards away with their scope pointing in a different direction.

Though when you come accustomed to these features, it becomes possible to annihiiate the enemy in spectecular fashion with secondary optiones like blowing up a gas station.

I give this game a 7/10, it is a good game.

the game is full of bugs, the AI (or AD -artificial dumbness- as it should be called) is so cringeworthy that i cant believe this game is actually out there (and expensive as **** by the way)
the looks of the game is ok, but come on, its 2018, it's a PS4 i'm playing, that's the least we deserve, but even the map design (thing by the way that i've been praising in my last few "reviews") is **** too many things everywhere, and none of them with nice details.
the game now has a "stealth" experience but it this both failling and completly unnecessary. actually not even the sniping experience is necessary. really, a game called SNIPER ELITE, and you dnt even need to use the sniper.
it should be called hide and seek elite.
you kill someone here, maybe someone else will see. if so, you just run for 10 seconds and boom, no one cares about you or the guy you just killed.
or instead of running, just try this: killd this one here, move slightly to one side, wait for the next jibroni to come, he will look directly to the corpse, and not to you, then kill this one, repeat.
its stupid. the game is stupid, i'm glad i borrowed it, no cent was spent

There are also a selection of co-op only ‘overwatch’ missions that focus on teamwork by tasking one player with using their sniper rifle to protect the other whilst they complete evolving objectives.

It has its flaws, and some of the slow motion kills may be a bit to gruesome for some, but overall Sniper Elite 3 is a good game, particularly if played with a co-op partner.

My biggest issue is the length. While each mission can last quite a while, the game overall feels very short. I was prepping for my next mission when the end credits started to roll. Since I purchased the game used it didn't come with any additional DLCs and it appears you can no longer buy them on the PS store. If you purchased the game, I personally would opt only for the Ultimate edition, so you can squeeze a bit more length out of the game.

The 3D support is one of the few on PS4, but it really adds depth. Especially on the long range sniper shots.

The soundtrack is minimal, but what is there adds to the ambiance.

The multiplayer is simple, but addictive.

The real shining moment of this game is playing it on the hardest settings. The bullet drop and the windage when sniping is a breath of fresh air.

The only real weak point is the AI.

I have yet to play the DLC or see the differences in 1.04 and 1.05, but given my past experience I expect good things.

First of all,the game is decent! The graphics are pretty good, surely better than SE 2,the forest, the mountains, the lighting of the sun and the shades can even concern u when u are using your binoculars or ur sniper, even the water goes smoothly and nice and the FPS is overall about 50,at least for PS4,so graphically could take an 8/10 with more variety than SE 2

The story is....as usually,a story where u have to destroy/sabotage something or kill somebody as in SE 2 was(and basicly every game in a world war time)so from that aspect its a regular 5/10

Now the important thing, the gameplay is both good and bad!The X-Ray is good combining it with the slow motion and the track of the bullet when it goes off from ur gun!I was always saying that X-Ray is good and should be used more,as it was awesome on Mortal Kombat too BUT its pretty much the same as it was on SE 2,while-at cases-the organs of the body doesnt "brake"realisticly depending on the impact and the track of the bullet(but ok,maybe i am judging very strictly)while also the frequency of the X-Ray slow-motion can be modified from the options wich is pretty good!
The guns arent many, they are pretty few,but they are still ok having much equipment and some customization for the sniper(while the 2 different medics still feel pretty strange to me)i also feel that the welrod(the only gun with silencer)is pretty much the only one u will use because there is nothing else with silencer
The AI is...ok i guess, but it still feels pretty buggy as in SE 2 was while they are still say complete the same thing like"what was that?"and "huh"?haha...jezus
I also like the fact that u start from a corner and u have to find a good spot and place urself judging whether u should start wasting ppl or not, depending on the position, the whole map,ur objective and ofc this "sound-mask",while i feel like having this **** red thing telling u where the bullet will go takes off the whole fun and the difficult but since u can play this game on "authentic"or custom the difficult is ok
So overall u could give this game a 7-7.5/10 BUT then there is this **** walking thing that really gives on ur nerves!Because the enemies are **** supermans they can hear u from like miles away unless u are cruching and since u dont know where the fk they may be u have to play it low which is so so frustrating and if the enemy is moving there is no way u can reach him and stealth-kill him....JEZUS this **** is so **** annoying and it is exactly as it was on SE 2,.....DAMN!

So after all a 6/10 is pretty much just, making u wanna play the game decent enough at the beggining but its getting a little boring as the hours pass!
P.S In this review i am talking about the campaing only, cause i havent try the multiplayer and from what i saw on outube it isnt something special, since BF 4 offer many many more

Well it was for the first 45 minutes after that I just got bored it, got repetitive. The best part of the whole game was the kill-cams in the campaign. In my opinion the story was just boring. Who knows maybe if I try v2 may I will like this more. Well I hopeDisappointing game, may be because its my first game in the series but when I saw the gameplay I thought this game would be great. Third time is not the charm. AI is still bad, but offers moving targets for sniping, which is still pretty fun. You don’t need to always hit the bulls eye. [Oct 2014]

With its high-quality ballistic modelling and gruesome death scenes, Sniper Elite 3 offers exactly what fans of the series demand, but still comes nowhere near living up to its potential.

Has made big steps beyond V2, particularly in terms of level size and multiplayer options. Still requires polish. [September 2014, p68]
