Shaq Fu is an average game. Average Beat-Em Up. Average Story. The gameplay itself isn't bad, it does change throughout the game and doesn't get stale. , I did enjoy the graphics and I did find the level design to be unique from stage to stage and liked to variety. and the jokes actually made me laugh out loud a few times. Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is not only a bad game, but a clear reminder that not every game needs a sequel. We didn’t need a new Bubsy and we certainly don’t need a new Shaq Fu. The combat is constantly draining, the humour is poorly delivered and occasionally insulting to your intelligence, and the six stages do nothing to incite any kind of replay ability whatsoever.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Honestly I think this games more like an 8, but I bumped it up because I think the game gets a bad rap when it really shouldn't. Is this a masterpiece? No, but it's a enjoyable romp through some ridiculous set pieces and equally ridiculous enemies/boss battles. The story is silly, but enjoyable. The dialogue is well written and full of laughs. If you're an uptight person then you won't enjoy this game, but if you're openminded and like to laugh then I think you'll enjoy yourself quite a bit. The only things I wasn't exactly fond of was how sometimes the waves of enemies could be a bit draining. The combat is fairly simple, but still can pose a challenge in spots. I played it on normal and still died a few times, usually because I was just gunning it when I should've been more strategic. I honestly enjoyed my time with this game for what it was. It also comes with free DLC if you purchased or are using the physical disc. I'm not sure if you purchased it digital whether this is still possible to access it. The DLC is a bit shorter, but includes Barack Obama as the main protagonist. It's limited to two stages, rather than Shaq's six stages. Despite the shorter campaign I felt the stages were fairly long and had more checkpoints, leading me to believe it was almost like having three more stages. I'm not sure why this games getting so much hate. I can't give it much more than an 8.5, but I honestly don't see why it's getting less than a 5 on the low end. If you're unsure then try getting it from your local library, but you could also purchase it from Amazon and other retailers at about $10 and could do a lot worse in my opinion. This is mostly a one and done game, except if you're a trophy hunter. Even then you'll probably play a few checkpoints over and call it a day. I recommend playing this around like minded people so you can get your laughs and if the gameplay gets a little exhausting then hand the controller over and take turns. Expand

Overall Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is a well constructed beat 'em up that misses the mark with it's jokes and would massively benefit from a multiplayer mode. That being said it feels great to smash through evil henchmen and transform into a human-cactus hybrid.

This game would be an excellent arcade cabinet. It plays as a wonderful Beat-em-up. The controls are fairly decent for the game but the vertical movement is a little fidgety and there aren't any vertical attacks. For $20, is a decent story with fair replay value. Once it includes the versus mode, I'll say that it's worth $30(cost of physical). The game has some bugs that need to be fixed but I was able to complete the storyline despite the game freezing a couple times while fighting Diamond.

The trophies are easily achievable with a second playthrough. The commentary is hilarious and the product placement for icy hot is perfect. I do wish that there could be more weapons included, especially in areas where the fights are more difficult.

As more worthless games come and go, Shaq-Fu is here to stay. Shaq-Fu is possibly the greatest experience created by humans, and for humans. By combining the likes of Gahndi, Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Fred Figglehorn, you are left with Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn.

By combining the likes of Gahndi, Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Fred Figglehorn, you are left with Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn.

If you haven't played the most stunning human achievement of all time that is this game, don't read ahead, unless you want to ruin your life by spoiling the most amazingly written, and acted story of all time. Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn follows the story of Shaq Fe-Hung from the Chinese town Hung-Lo. He abandons his mother to fight against the demons that Yen-Lo-Weng has sent to Earth. He trains with his mentor Ye-Ye until he is murdered by the minions of of Yen-Lo-Weng. As Ye-Ye utters his last breath, he tells Shaq that Yen-Lo-Weng has sent demons to Earth disguised as celebrities, and Shaq must kill these celebrities and save humanity. All the characters are so in-depth and brought out to the public. They are so bright with personality, whether it's being caring, or being edgy, or determined enough to save the world, Shaq-Fu has all of it there. Such characters such as Shaq, or Ye-Ye, spoke to me on a personal level, and I cried at multiple times during the extremely crisp 12K resolution, 10,00 fps cut scenes, which really tug at your heart.

Along with the riveting and heart-wrenching story, Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn also excels in the aspect of gameplay. Shaq is an outstanding choice for the protaganist of this game and it shows in his personality, attitude, and his gameplay style. He can use multiple attacks and use a super attack, which may have drawn inspiration from Mega Man, but done much better, as Mega Man pales in comparison to this masterpiece of all media and enterntainment. The games focus, as I mentioned, is on Shaq's multiple superhuman abilities to defeat the evil celebrities. Shaq can kick AND punch, which is absolutely insane for a game of this age. No other games are as packed with amazing content and gameplay mechanics such as this singular game. I was never bored, this game features some of - sorry, THE best the best level design in a game ever, while keeping things fresh with it's ever changing roster of mechanics. (Which are once again, better than Mega Man's.)

Plus the presentation is stunning running at 12K on all platform including the Atari 2600. Whoops! It seems as though I forgot to mention that this game is playable on every single games console in existence, while being able to play the same high in technicality controls, gameplay, along with the high definition graphics. Consoles from the Atari 2600 to the Nintendo Gamecube to the XBOX One, Shaq-Fu runs like a dream on all platforms and plays with the same controls while being locked at 10,000 fps.

Overall Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is definitely the greatest piece of media in the history of all humankind. This game belongs in something of a museum. It possesses all the natural traits of art, while pushing it to its own limit, and making itself better by the second. Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is my favorite thing in this entire universe. And nothing comes close to topping this masterpiece.

    you have the mark..
the mysterious birth mark of the chosen on
So you set out to take down celebrities to get one step closer to taking down yen lo wang as the prophecies have for told…
And this game is just not fun.
Shaq Fu tries to do the whole Suda51 thing which is really its only saving grace
its full of pop culture references, one of the boss battles is against what I’m assuming is kim kardashians butt though in the game shes given a different name.. but we know the truth…
youll be taking on a number of others here as well that I wont spoil, but every level ends in a boss fight..
These levels though just drag on forever..
back to the suda 51 thing.. the constant jokes are the only thing that kept me going through this game..
however theyre poorly delivered by the game..
    not the voice actors..
the voice acting is fine, the writing is great..
it just feels so awkwardly placed in game.. there are never smooth transitions such as moments where shaq breaks the 4th wall to tell the game designer to stop with the endless waves of enemies..
and I wish he would’ve taken shaqs advice..
all enemies in every level is pretty much the same enemy with a different skin, and youre mashing buttons punching and kicking filling up a meter to unlock a powerful move rinse and repeat until you get to a boss fight, which is the only fun moments of the game..
but from the beginning of a level to the boss is just a monotonous grind with the occasional fun moments of being big deiseal or shactus slicing through enemies like warm butter while the game slaps you with some pretty offensive stuff and the occasional icy hot patch
Shaq Fu A legend reborn is a functioning game but that’s about it..
its playable though a boss fight against paris Hilton stopped working twice forcing me to restart.
the ridiculous humor is all this game has going for it.. and with the poor delivery of the humor through the game, saying that is even a stretch,
I give Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn
    a 4.5/10

For a 20$ title how could you not put this at a 10. I mean yes the story is roughly 3 or 4 hours and it doesnt have much reply ability after the 2nd or perhaps 3rd time. This game is very fun to play. Most of the people that are complaining don’t like the old school side scrolling beat em up games. Any one who grew up playing these games as a child will love this game. Definitely one of my favorite games.

Trying to play the nostalgia chord is risky, because it has its own limits. It shows, in Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn. Despite its hilarious scenario, the game is repetitive and devoid of any attempt to create something new.

A poorly written game with gameplay that feels stiff and archaic, along with endless waves of enemies that take far too long to beat.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn manages to do things at such a basic level that it numbs us to the idea of anything entertaining happening ever. A product from the past that lacks in every department, one has to wonder why they even bothered?
