In the end, Sanity of Morris tries to do something different from your typical horror game. And while a few moments shine, it’s ultimately a disappointing endeavour. The story may well keep you invested enough through its four-or-so hour runtime, but its visual presentation and ropey gameplay mechanics will likely leave you wanting.

Sanity of Morris is an unfortunate case of an idea with promise that suffers due to the developers' lack of expertise with horror titles. It's clear that this game wants to be both scary and intriguing to players; however, throughout its 4-hour playtime, it fails to consistently scare or entertain with either gameplay or story.

However the game is broken in a multitude of ways mainly the AI, I had the lights from enemies going through walls, them actually spotting me through walls, enemies killing me through walls and doors, at times I would stand directly in front of an enemy in there line of vision and they wouldn’t see me, near the beginning an enemy ran towards me froze on the spot doing the continuous attacking motion and I walked about 10 feet away and he somehow killed me and they would also clip through objects to attack me. The story just isn’t investing enough, I wasn’t bored playing this game until the last 20 minutes I felt that dragged. Overall this game tried to do something somewhat fresh and for the game developers being fairly new it could have been much worse. Maybe with their next project and with a bigger budget they can really flourish their creative ideas. Expand

    Everythings a dead end
Sanity of Morris isa first person adventure game about aliens and the government..
Youre in search of your father, and its up to you to follow his bread trail and expose thetruth about alien life that the government is trying to hide.. and this is one of the worst games ive every played.
Sanity or morris is some of the most annoying dead end gameplay ive ever experienced.. meaning nothing is ever simple progression.. its contant dead end - I need a key, I need to find a tablet, I need to find a code, literally every corner you turn.. and the areas are so big, with movement that’s so slow, and a character that dies if you jump off of the tiniest ledge to try and save time, making it a complete slog looking for something that you have no idea where it could be or what it looks like, am I looking for numbers or a key card? You never really know where to go or what to look for, the game just throws hurdle after hurdle at you and you have to figure out yourself what it wants from you, and it will even throw in some stuff that accomplishes nothing but getting you a collectable, and you feel annoyed and like youre missing something because you swear you’ve checkdd every room and every nook and cranny for what you need… to make matters worse, it isn’t as simple as trying to figure out what t do or what you need, sanity of morris is also contantly trowing you into instadeath situations while you look for things, youll have to search for items around brain dead aliens and govrnemnt hitmen that instantly kill you the moment they see you, and can apparently see you and kill you through walls.. it isn’t tense and doesn’t feel like horror survival stealth where you have a clear objective and have to figure out how to get around them to get to that objective, they just feel like a nussance in your way of trying to figure out what youre even supposed to be doing..
Sanity of Morris is awful to play from start to finish..I don’t even need to get into the awkward quick time events.. this game is borderline painful at times..
While the story may be the only hope of pulling anyone through…
the gameplay and constant dead ends will make even the most intrigued player regret their purchasing decision.
    I give Sanity of Morris
    a 2.5/`10
