It offers you a decent amount of content with the open Chronicle mode taking all the glory. Aside from that don’t expect the Samurais to stray too far from the proven formula.

With Samurai Warriors 4, Omega Force's other established Musou series finally steps out of the shadow cast by their more revered Dynasty Warriors catalogue.

Players who can withstand repetition and enjoy ridiculous 1000+ hit combos will likely appreciate the experience Samurai Warriors 4 provides.

Samurai Warriors 4 delivers probably the best Musou experience on PlayStation 4 so far, without pop-ups nor frame rate issues, but still suffers from a very repetitive gameplay.

Samurai Warriors 4 becomes the best title in the franchise thanks to its playable news. The PS4 version eliminates popping, while the Vita version is well balanced.

Samurai Warriors 4 takes a little advantage of its port on PS4. It's still kind of old-school, but the game is at last better on a technical point of view. We're still waiting for the episode that will rebuilt from ground zero.

Samurai Warriors 4 is likeable but not loveable. There’s an illusion of depth here, but overall this just makes it more frustrating when you realise it’s as deep as a puddle.

Samurai Warriors 4 is a step in the right direction for Koei Tecmo, even though it is still deeply rooted in the tradition of the musou franchises, famous for button mashing gameplay and stereotyped characters.

Although it has dated visuals, it comes through on a gameplay front - for fans at least. The battles feel epic due to the number of drones on the screen. In the end, that’s what these titles are all about - epic battles that keep these titles going.

Played quite a bit last night and had a blast. This is my first Samurai Warriors game but I have played a lot of the Dynasty games. The gamePlayed quite a bit last night and had a blast. This is my first Samurai Warriors game but I have played a lot of the Dynasty games. The game looks good on the PS4, the pop in is much less than it used to be. Don't read the negative reviews that say this is a button mashing game. It is what all the warriors games are, but with more depth. By now, if you like warriors games you will love this one, if you don't like them then you will likely not enjoy this one. Full Review »

While it may not have the roster nor depth that Warriors Orochi 3 had, the combat and feel of the game is vastly improved. If there's one warriors game to get, this would be my recommendation unless you're really into the Chinese lore instead. Full Review »

The combat and gameplay is much more fluid when I compare it to Warriors Orochi. love this Japanese art style too! there are flaws, like close up the trees and water are a bit blurry, the characters hair never moves (they really must have strong hair gel!) but it doesn't take anything away from the slash fest. if you like Japanese games, or beat em ups, this will be like hardcore pornography for you!
