Salary Man Escape has some flaws, but it offers plenty of gameplay time for the money, The controls take some adjusting to, but there’s definite satisfaction to be found from mastering it, particularly as you advance up into the later and more complex levels.

Salary Man Escape is a strange but charming game for VR. It doesn't make the most of the technology, but it is a very good puzzle game.

A fun VR-puzzler which offers a lot of value for money. The game's theme combined with relatively simple graphics and some overly happy J-Pop songs simply work. The early levels are far too easy and severely underestimate the player. When the difficulty ramps up, the game improves significantly. Tracking doesn't work well for the motion controller option which makes the DualShock 4 the preferred way to play. Which is a shame because it feels less natural.

With a unique presentation unlike anything I’ve seen before in gaming, Salary Man Escape creates its own singular vision of workplace hell. But with frustrating controls and a bordering-on-broken physics model, the stellar puzzle design is lost in a mire of irritation and exasperation. If I wanted to feel stressed, I would just go to work.

Salary Man Escape brings good puzzle mechanics and playing time. Unfortunately, virtual reality implementation ends in itself.

We’re still wondering why Salary Man Escape is a VR game. But that’s not a real problem. Tricky physics and useless and an annoying timer are one. Nonetheless, there are actually some good puzzles in that game.

Salary Man Escape VR is a quite original and engaging, flawed by some annoying control issues.

If the concept of Salary Man Escape’s brand of slider puzzles sounds like it scratches an itch, and you don’t mind suffering from genuinely difficult setups, you’ll likely learn to look past the faults in favor of sticking it to your virtual corporate masters.

The idea behind Salary Man Escape is interesting and the puzzles are well crafted, but the graphical design of the game is bland and boring and the music awful. But, overall, it’s a decent puzzle game that will keep you squeezing your mind for a few hours.

Between the player and the pleasure of the puzzles always remains an obstacle, something that inevitably ruins the gaming experience.

Salary Man Escape is a great puzzle game ruined by its useless VR integration.

Salary Man Escape is an interesting idea for a puzzle game, but its execution ends up being more along the lines of the very drudgery that it tries to parody, rather than the escape that video games promise.

If you're not put off by the game's stark minimalism and brainbusting puzzles, then Salary Man's unique charms may well be right up your alley but gamers looking for a puzzle game with a more casual appeal, and perhaps more of a sense of fun, might want to look elsewhere.

Salary Man Escape is a competent puzzler that has a decent amount of fun to offer when things are going your way, but when that enjoyment partly relies on physics outside of your control, it’s easy for frustration to creep in when the going gets tough. Add that to the fact that the game lacks a definitive control method thanks to flaws in both motion and the traditional controller, and you can’t be blamed for looking for an alternative experience.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Edgy art style! Reminds me a lot of Tumble, which I really enjoyed. This looks fantastic! I love a good puzzler, it reminds me of Tumble, but has something that was missing from said game, a little bit of context. Full Review »

The concept is good after i putting hands on it, no narrative, but the words designed on the bricks are interesting and make you reflect a little bit about your real salaryman life. so basically, this is a good puzzle game with good back ground music.
