    I insist this is a PS4 version review, and man is it bad! The game looks so ugly, it’s so empty and the frame rate is extremely unstable. I even gave games such as Fallout 76 a chance (tenths of hours played), but this one is really too bad technically speaking. Ugly, slow and laggy.

    The essence of the game doesn’t do much better. Depending on your luck, you might get slaughtered when    I insist this is a PS4 version review, and man is it bad! The game looks so ugly, it’s so empty and the frame rate is extremely unstable. I even gave games such as Fallout 76 a chance (tenths of hours played), but this one is really too bad technically speaking. Ugly, slow and laggy.

    The essence of the game doesn’t do much better. Depending on your luck, you might get slaughtered when literally being naked (i.e. in your first minutes of playing). The morale of the game isn’t clear either. What does the player gain at killing the other humans? Stealing loot to build a house/fortress as resistant as possible. Fine but why? Not any background behind this. But I guess that’s trendy nowadays, just like a Battle Royale game. 100 players on a map and may people kill each other as much as possible. The difference here being that there is a build/loot component that can be worked on until the deadline of the server arrives (weekly, monthly), which adds motivation to come back on the game to be as strong as possible compared to others. If you’re lucky, you (as a team of course – forget about playing this alone) might also find people to cooperate with. Fine concept, but technically it just doesn’t do its job and thus took away any interest from my perspective.

    In the end, in its current state, this game won’t keep its player base. It will quickly decline as people get bored of it.

    Never is Rust worth 50€. To me, it should be a free-to-play at best.    … Expand

    Just broken, clumsy, awkward, bad hit registration, toxic players, dead and disconnected combat, repetitive gameplay, crowded maps, unbalanced, entire game based on how big your group is, solo players have no chance of getting any major progress, the worst game i've had to pay for in a long time, and the £49.99 price tag is some kind of sick joke

    I was excited to get to play this game on PS4, then it came out and I found out it is unplayable. The initial bugs that appeared during early release got worse with the first patch release. The second patch release is where the game literally became unplayable, as I can not even load into servers because the game crashes while loading.     so many issues it’s astounding. Horrible optimisation, terrible frame lag when in pvp and near monuments also in general graphics are just bad. But the worst part by far is the crashing. So much Crashing. Loading into a server takes about 15 tries, error after error and once you finally get in and get going you crash in the middle of no where and lose everything.     Not a game I would recommend horrible game play and PvP is impossible if you don't play with more the 4 people cause everyone else use 6 people and just raid your base everyone you ask me this game is a waste of money the should lower the team to max of 3 people

    This game has officially won the darkest and most deepest part of hell. Every single patch brings new and old bugs (The ones that they where fixed, Ohh Yeahh some of them is back) even we ignore the fact that it gets tested internally, Than goes through public test branch and than live client still gets persistent bugs... It's just mind boggling. Don't bother wasting your time and money on this game. Look for something else! You can thank me later...… Expand

The devs work SLOWWWW and every update is really just a bug release. The graphics are washed out, low res, and you'd think that may mean high fps....not this one! It feels like watching a flip book as you play. The maps are tiny and empty, It'sIt is AWFUL.     Look the gameplay of Rust is amazing, I love the survival the PVP everything to do with gameplay is all there.     Never being a pc gamer, I was excited to finally play a game I'd watch people stream for years and only played a handful of times at a friend's house. A disappointing launch to say the least, (playing on ps4) but considering community servers have yet to launch my hope is the game is fixable with a few more updates.     I made this account just to tell everyone how bad this game is and to stay away. The lag is unbelievable as soon as you get close to another player making fights shockingly bad, and if the other player is on PS5 they have a 100x advantage over you meaning you will lose the fight every single time at no fault of your own.     First, if you value your time in any way, do not buy this game. Why, you ask. There are no solo only servers, so no mater where you go or how fast you collect and build, a team with 3 - 8 player will kill you repeatedly and steal all you stuff or even you whole base.

    So, just join a team, right? Wrong! If you attempt to approach another player you’ll just be shot.

    I’ll put it another way, I’ve been playing, and search for teammates for the last 3 months, I still haven’t even had a chance to experience destroying a chopper or apc, because you have to advance far enough and collect enough advanced mats, weapons, and armor to be able to do so. Single player? It will take days of farming and being killed and robbed for your stuff. People with friends or a team don’t even have to farm on there own.

    Basically the teams just farm solo players, so they can go enjoy the content. Whilst you are stuck trying to start over.

    I wish I would have known there nothing to protect the beginners and no place for players to just enjoy the game mechanics.

    If I’d have know the game was just about murdering people and stealing their stuff I would never have purchased it.

    The only chance I’ve had…
    You will occasionally be “visited” by some of these groups. Instead of raiding you they just force you into submission to farm for them. Which might get you few day further than before. Howerver, those overlords can’t be on all the time and you’ll end up raided anyway. The only good I’ve seen from this game?
    Some funny YouTube vids of cheaters being trolled by admins. Don’t expect to see and admin. The report player for cheating, trolling, grieving function does nothing, neither does the block player function.

    If you have a conscience you will feel bad for raiding others. It’s not worth being enslaved by a clan.

The only way to have fun in this game is have 10 people playing with you and you must play all day if you would like to get good guns to fight people and then you would just lose the guns to a big clan. Rust console has very little gameplay aswell and you could lose everything overnight because of your base being offline raided by a big clan. This game has very many cheaters I have encountered like people who can fly or people who have literal god mode there is also A LOT of bugs that are game breaking, the developers don't deserve any more money.… Expand

Nobody can survive against admin abuse! I don't care to die and have everything destroyed as long as it's a fair fight. Game deleted till we get our own servers you said we would get !!!… Expand

    Complete garbage crash 24 7 in that game no joke if you play you know what I mean if you are on ps4 they need to seriously fix this game and it should not be no 60 dollars it should be 30 or even 25 it is that bad and dont even mention the frames when you get into a fight straight garbage

    Rust. A truly fun game on Pc has gotten its long awaited Console port. Boy was it bad. I received the game in the earliest beta stages and it was just horrendous, lagging everyone, textures not loading in, glitching through walls… well it was a early beta so I thought ok, let’s hope it gets better. Fast forward to the official release… it was just awful, the servers were almost immediately filled to the the hype of the game and wow, the servers just couldn’t handle it, the map was bland, had barely any of the pc portions in the game, it truly was a disaster. Flash forward to 2023, we finally have a good bit of the pc portions to the game such as Oil Rig, Cargo Ship, Train station and more Landmarks. But unfortunately the game is still broken. Every now and then for some reason you the player will be able to see through walls… and now just standard supermarket walls, I mean base walls… of opposing players. If that wasn’t bad enough if you were able to force yourself to lag enough while going into the base, you could interact with such objects as boxes, Unlocked TCs and even the Players Inventory, and take the loot inside them. I hope this game turns out well, but the port to console was bad and the game is still in bad shape. 4/10… Expand

    Overall I enjoyed my time with Rust, it may need a few updates and features to really stand out, but even at this level the game is a strong contender in the survival game genre.

    Rust Console Edition manages to transcribe the wildly popular PC experience, but a few key missing features mean it falls short of what it should be. It could be great in time, but right now it feels like a disappointing misstep in comparison to the fleshed out PC version.

    Rust Console Edition is, simply, a console port of an 8-year-old PC survival game that has managed to stand the test of time. It may not perform as smoothly on console yet but the desperate fights for survival against hostile forces still remains.
