    Loads of customisation items. Literally millions of different combinations.
    The online is very very stable.
    Various ways to play with friends including up to 4 player split screen.
    Cross play for PC and PS4.
    A season mode for offline play.
    Replay editor which also acts as a photo mode is a very welcome feature.
    Future support for the game confirmed, including DLC and free stadiums.
    Day one release on PlayStation Plus for free is a wonderful bonus and a very loyal move from Psyonix to their fans.

    This game is tons of fun and is the most fun I've had with a game in ages. You won't regret picking this up. Although you may never put it down.    … Expand

    Absolutely in love with this game. The learning curve is fairly steep when it comes to actually playing well, but the game is a blast. Next to Outlast, this has been the best game to release so far for Playstation Plus. Having a lot of fun with my friends online when it is working and I cannot wait to play it more.

    Ok, I'll be the first to admit, I didn't think this game could really be very good. But with so many people streaming it on Twitch, I figured I have to try it (especially since it's free with PS+). Well I was wrong. On the first face-off of my first game I scored a goal and was hooked. This is one of those games that will spread like wildfire because it's pure fun. It's accessible, hasOk, I'll be the first to admit, I didn't think this game could really be very good. But with so many people streaming it on Twitch, I figured I have to try it (especially since it's free with PS+). Well I was wrong. On the first face-off of my first game I scored a goal and was hooked. This is one of those games that will spread like wildfire because it's pure fun. It's accessible, has steady graphics, no lag, and the matchmaking is phenomenal most of the time. If I had to find a complaint it would be that the AI players who sometimes get slotted in are overpowered and dont make many mistakes.

    If you have PS+, you have no excuse. Go download this game. If you don't, you still have no excuse. Take $20 and download this game.    … Expand

    A host of different single-player and multi-player options should cover everybodys tastes, and this perhaps is the icing on the cake to the gameplay. The concept of football using cars is taken to its most fun and competitive and even if you think that you can't play this, you will, thanks to really well-thought controls and presentation that doesn't confuse the player, rather it assists whilst delivering all the necessary punch.

    The only negative point right now is the online (server issues), but they are improving, and in this weekend just gone I've spent a fair few hours playing this online.

    Rocket League is perhaps a game that is devoid of words to elevate it anymore or debate it: for if you are then you're missing the point. Play it for goodness sake, enjoy it, and see you online!!    … Expand

    Rocket League is a must have for all the competition lovers out there! It's great fun and even more: local multiplayer! So many new games don't have this feature anymore, with Rocket League it's a blast to play with up to 3 friends.

    Simply put, this is the most fun and exhilarating game I have played on the PS4.

    It's got a great split screen so you can play with friends on the couch, which is something I feel is sorely lacking in games today. The gameplay is simple enough to entertain first time players but complex enough to allow experienced players to refine their skills and pull off incredible plays.     A fun, addictive and gorgeous video game. It's fun to play with friends and even if you don't have friends online it can still be a fun game. The visual customization is pretty extensive and the controls are quite challenging (which is a good thing). The game is constantly updated with new content so the game never gets too old. Rocket League is awesome.

    It's a very fun little competitive game. Once you get to learn the mechanics, you can really turn this game into a complicated struggle against other players online. Anyone who's played this game can at least tell you it runs, plays, looks great. The rest comes down to whether this game is for you.

    I really hate football games and don't really like car games... wasn't expecting much from a game that combines the two. However it's incredibly delightful, very well designed and tweaked to competitive perfection. You can jump in and enjoy the game at any skill level, with the games balancing doing a pretty good job of pairing you up with players of a similar skill level.     You can play offline 2 vs 2 split screen or even 4 vs 4 online (with 3 of your friends sharing the same tv as you). Simply put, any combination works for this game. and that's a really cool feature especially considering how many devs are leaving the Split screen options behind in favor of pure online experiences.

    Truth be told, I was originally planning to buy the new Batman, but since I got hooked on this game, I never bought it. Didn't regret this decision for a second.     Probably the best free game I've ever played, and will ever be released. I've put hours into this game that seems simple and elementary, but as the competition gets more fierce becomes more complex.     Everything is so perfectly executed. Rocket League is extremely addictive and an extraordinary sequel to the good old ps3 classic SSARPBC. It's fast paced and every match is incredibly intense. The controls are smooth and it just feels awesome navigating the stadiums with your car.

    it's been a long time since a game got me to yell at the television while laughing hysterically. Rocket League is a fun and unique experience and a fantastic multiplayer game that dumps you straight into the action.

    The sense of speed causes adrenaline to surge constantly. So challenging and fun. Your car possesses so much power, but the more you use, the harder it is to keep things under control. You are limited never by unlocks or equipment, but only the insanely high skill cap.

    It's a sports game for people who don't like sports games! Although there were broken servers at first, the game has a fantastic matching system. AND the game's community hasn't gone to **** like Counter Strike or Minecraft so buy and play it before it does!!!

    Here is a quick description: Halo 'Griffball' meets Fat Princess 'Soccer-mode' meets Twisted Metal meets soccer. This game is mechanically sound and you will not have any fundamental complaints in regards to control, camera, and responsiveness. Very fun with friends. It is free on PS+ currently. Do not miss this game.

    As far as 20 dollar games go, this is close to a 10. But this game is fun enough to compare to the best of them so I rate it as a premium game. It's a driving game and a sports game melded together. So gratifying to get a last second goal or a dramatic save. If you have the slightest suspicion that you will like this game, you probably will.

    Like most PS Plus subscribers, I got this for free. It is so much fun and a good clean game.
    It's rare that a little Gem like this comes along.
    I've since bought the DLC and would recommend getting it.

    Awesome multiplayer experience! The game is fast, intense and has great gameplay. It's both hilarious and challenging, and it is purely skill based. At first it seems quite simple and narrow, but as you improve, you realize its depth and why this game has become an official eSport.

It's very addictive, I just kept saying one more match, and suddenly it's very late and I got to go to work tomorrow, but just one more match.     Terrific game! I have spent more time on this than almost any other game to date. And to think i got it free on ps plus. Its so simple to learn but will take you weeks to get the proper hang of it. Perfecting your moves comes next - so addictive.

    The score I give is based on my experience on the game and the ratio of how much I had fun to how much the game annoyed me. This game did not annoy me. This reminds me a lot of Resogun, because of its simple yet deep nature and its focus on gameplay and fun. This is the best multiplayer I played this year(followed by Splatoon). This is a must-play. Is this a perfect game? Of course not, however there never was or will be "a perfect game". But my experience with Rocket League was fun perfected.

    So much fun and so addicting. Plus for all of the trophy hunters out there its an easy Platty... I picked it up when it was free but this is totally worth the $15 if u didn't.

    Besides SARPBC, there hasn't been a more addictive multiplayer since SOCOM on the PS1. Genuinely unique, short matches, intense fun. I have turned in to the type of gamer that mainly uses my PS4 to play/chat with my friends, and this is absolutely the perfect platform to do it on...both via couch or online.     It feels weird to rate a game this highly when on the surface it has very little content and variation, but the amount of fun and playtime I've had with it entirely justifies the score. The controls are very smooth and intuitive and the game runs very well. You get occasional lag spikes when the cars explode but that's about it.

Making incredible goals and epic saves really gives you a nice adrenaline rush and a sense of achievement. Some of the games get really competitive too and all you can think of is how to make the winning goal and gain everyone's respect. Obviously the game is at its best when you play with friends but a lot of fun can be had even when playing alone.

    I wish there were more cars and customization options though. The devs are making DLC's that add these but this is the case for now. It feels silly that you can unlock all the customization options randomly. I think some of them should be locked behind certain achievements. For example you need to make 3 saves in one game to unlock some specific type of boost.

    But enough with the review, I'm off to play some more Rocket League!

    Yea this game is cool and is awesome and i think it is worth the price. If you want to play by yourself the bots can be annoying but overall they are good. The best way to play is with friends by far.

    It's a bit hard to get the controls right, but once you do, it's a very fun, addictive, and fiercely competitive game! I find myself only wanting to play a few games to kill off 30 minutes, then wind-up playing for hours. Awesome game!

    If you are on the fence, hop over it. This game is one that is easy to pick up and you never stop learning how to improve. There are few games that are so dependent on the user becoming skillful at execution. There are a ton of training modes to help you improve. Seriously buy this game.

Considering the simplicity of the game and the developers continued improvement with patches being released, I would rate this a 10. There is room for improvement however, with the developers maybe adding a live tournament knockout mode possibly. 10 teams in a lobby, teams knocked out with a winner decided. I think a lobby would definitely improve the replayability aspect of this game. The ranked seasons mode is okay, however I do think that teams playing a tournament would be way more fun. Teams can be random as well, just like the 3v3 mode is now where you play with random teammates. Still a 10 out of 10 even without this lobby however, as the developers took a simple concept and made it really fun.… Expand

    This is an absolutely amazing game. I decided to play it after seeing amazing tricks on youtube, at the beginning my skills were very poor, then with practice the game became more fast, challenging and fun.

It's less dopey than having higher player counts, and not as pointless as 1v1. But hey, you've seen the reviews, you get the point, so here are the gripes - what needs to change.

    Maps get old fast, though this is hard to complain about after Pysonix introduced Rocket Labs - a mode where experimental arenas with crazy angles and ramps are used. I think this needs to be available for 2v2 play.

    The 'Quick Messages' need an update. They are cheesy, its why a fraction of them are actually used. Though, It IS kind of enjoyable how upsetting it can be when someone spams "No Problem. No Problem. No Problem." After scoring a shot. Still, less cheese, more eggs.

    RANKED. Time after time, fantastic players are teamed up with the worst of the worst. I'm not gonna try and explain how to solve network sorting, because I don't know how. But really. Players who do bad should not be put in a ranked match with players who are very competitive. I even (often) see people with high ranks play while intoxicated or high, and who wouldn't want to - just keep players who play poorly out of playing with me in a RANKED match.

    That's it. Those are the gripes that matter to me. For the future, I hope Pysonix offers us more vehicle customization, soundtracks with more than three decent songs, and MAYBE JUST MAYBE BABY some kind of perk system for your vehicle. Just to try it out. I'm not a fan of over complicating and breaking something that works, but I think a subtle booster of your choice could potentially up the strategics. Maybe you can't ever get demolished. Maybe your boost works slightly better. Maybe your can activate extra gravity so your vehicle falls to the ground faster

    A unique game with no performance flaws, great physics and good soundtrack. The only negatives are the camera which can be sometimes misleading and toxic player community.
    But the real reason why it's not 10/10 is that the game used to require PS Plus membership before it went free to play. Back then without membership you could just play against bots.

You would think that people would just have fun as they work up the ranks but nope, toxicity everywhere, especially in the higher ranks. #2 - Though the match-making in my opinion is overall pretty solid, Its really bad in detecting smurfs and can give you pretty unfair matches, especially in doubles. #3 - Sometimes the servers can be almost unplayable at any given time, some days you'll be fine and other days psyonix tries to sabotage you. #4 - In my opinion, I feel like rumble is a gamemode that you can only enjoy when playing with friends. In fact, I think it's probably very fun and addicting with friends, but when you're playing with random strangers, its either just not fun and kinda boring, or annoying with strangers spamming their items or boosts. #5 - Unless I'm missing something, why does camera shake exist? #6 - Sometimes it feels like I can get demo'd no matter how slightly my car is touched. There has been a couple of occasions where my car has been slighty swiped or door'd and It registers a demoltion. Might as well tickle my car with a feather and then quickly run before I explode. #7 - The cpu cars in this game are probably the easiest a.i. I have ever faced in a video game because they weren't coded to be able to boost in the air to hit the ball while its in the air, they basically just wait until the ball drops. The all star and "unfair" a.i. difficulties can easily get blown out by double digits if you tried. And that's it. Those are the only noticeable issues that I have had with the game. Again, my overall review of the game is 8.4 - 10. I love this game, don't get me wrong, but I have seen these things happen and I want to warn newcomers of this of you come across this.     I play a lot of video games. I love good game theory. This game is very tightly crafted. I can't remember having more fun with a game. Bloodborne, Dark Souls, The Last of Us, Uncharted, and Rocket League are in my top 10 list... strange bedfellows indeed.

Of course, you can also play with your friends at home via. local co-op because it's one of the games which has a splitscreen mechanism for up to 4 players - true old-school gaming! It also features several offline modes, such as exhibition matches against bots or season mode against bots. And of course, it also features a tutorial and a training mode which both are well made.

    Gameplay: Rocket League is incredibly balanced. Ever battle-car has the same speed, the same maneuverability and the same jump height. The only thing which is slightly different between the battle-cars is the hitbox, but you probably won't notice that the hitbox is different at all. The general gameplay is very fast, very fun and very addictive. The controls are simple, but mastering the cars and the battle-car is difficult. The bots are playing surprisingly good, there's a high possibility that you will lose your first games against the bots.

    Customization possibilities: Players are able to customize their battle-car by unlocking items which are gained by completing an online or offline match. This includes changing the body, decal (skin), paint, wheels, rocket trail, topper (hat) and antenna of the battle-car. In total, there are more than 150 customization items unlockable, which means that there are millions of different customizations possible

    My conclusion: Rocket League is incredibly fun. Rocket League is incredibly addictive. Rocket League is incredibly competitive. If I would have to compare the gameplay to another game, I would only be able to choose Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, which is the prequel to Rocket League, made by the same developer. I strongly recommend to buy this game even if you don't like sports games as Rocket League feels way different compared to FIFA or PES. The ESPORT scene would love this game, and it could get viewership ratings along the likes of League and CS:GO.

    Rocket League is a beautiful game with lots of polish and tons to do. It has tutorial or training modes that challenge even the apt of thumbs. There is a single player season mode and exhibition matches with games ranging from 1v1 to 4v4. For the masochists like myself, they even included a 3v1 or 4v1 Unfair mode. However, in multiplayer is where this game really shines. As you play online, you unlock more and more customization options, including vehicles, toppers (hats), engines, paint, etc. All modes and aesthetics aside, the game play and replay value is what really makes this a stellar, must play game.

    The maneuverability of the cars will take a long time to master. The amount of things you can do might seem underwhelming at first, with boost and dodging being the first learned. The handbrake button can turn your car almost in a 180 when tapped, or can allow your car to drift, Tokyo style, when held. Combining those two with the boost and dodge will allow your car to maintain supersonic (max) speed throughout the game. Last but not least, the boost can be used as a jetpack, that can allow the most skilled pilots from Rocket League Academy to shoot and score from all areas of the map, even the ceiling.

    I could rattle on forever about the game, but I think you understand my views and I'm going to go satisfy that Rocket League itch I'm feeling just from writing this little review. 10/10, Must Play.    … Expand

    Devs have been great. Especially with the Free PS+ release which was totally unexpected and the beta showed that they were listening to the fans.

    The local co op with online mode is perfect and works without issue. Seamless intense gameplay and stats is exactly how I expected it to be. 10/10.

    Tried this game in beta and was instantly addicted. Fastpaced action, original concept and supports local split screen. This game is especially lots of fun with friends.

    A great time, fun trophies to hunt for and now it is even getting E-sport!

(which was fun but really a minor distraction in the grand scheme of things) Obviously there are vast improvements to visuals, options, net code, car-customization. And yes as of right now servers are having issue (only because the game is so awesome) but if there is one game studio I would trust to rectify the situation quickly its Psyonix. I mean Halo 2 sold 2.4 Million units in 24 hours. This game shipped 1.2 Million in 48. Halo made the news with those sales #’s, this game was done by a small indie company not funded by M$.
    But since it’s the gamplay that set it apart I will just copy and paste my review of SARPBC as I feel that is the best explanation as to why this game is great.
    “I know this is going to sound like an exaggeration buy I am completely serious. I have played video games nearly all my life, I even worked in a game store in high school. What I am getting at is I know my games. And this is, in my option, the best sports video game of all time. I would also consider it the best split-screen multiplayer game for 4 people currently available. Be warned the learning curve on this game is very-very high so it is best to start playing the game with a group of people near the same skill level. Why is this game one of my favorite games of all time? Well there are a lot of reasons. For one it is the perfect mix of strategy and execution. The game is very complex, well actually the game is very simple, but the possible approaches to the game are infinite. I used to play alot of shooters (mostly halo), it was really fun but after awhile my strategy for almost any given situation became static. However in this game, while a few strategy do remain constant, so many (after four years of play) are dynamic. You really have to improvise on situations in this game, the result is that the game always seems fresh. Again same can be said with execution in this game. I have been playing for years and there is always more for me to learn, and it continually feels like i am moving towards being a better player. ( If you want an example of how good people can be at this game just go to youtube, some of the people that play this game are unbelievably good ). Again i will use shooters as a counter example, where execution performance converges on an asymptote at a quicker rate. (I'm not trying to bash shooter i like them alot, but almost all the execution is based on reaction time and muscle memory) Scoring goals in this game requires an almost indefinable finesse that leads you to feel a real sense accomplishment. Anyway I am just rambling now. My main point, buy this game.

    Oh and also Psyonix, the company that makes this game, is really cool. In an age where DLC cost usually as much as most games itself, Psyonix has released two patches (doubling the original amount, of maps and car skins / fixing glitches ext,) for free. This can be done on the ground or in the air by jumping and using your boost effectively. You have 5 minutes to score more goals than the enemy which makes it a great    I've had a lot of fun with this game for the past few days. And it is the easy kind of fun. I'm loving it!

    This have to be the most complete multiplayer of this generation.

    From the start of the Beta, Rocket League have showed great momentum in becoming one of the best multiplayer experiences on the PS4.

    It is fun to play with friends and with randoms and it delivers some of the most intense moments I have ever experienced in gaming.

    Probably the most fun you'll have playing your PS4. Such a simple idea(cars+soccer), executed perfectly. There's also a ton of customization goodies for your vehicle and everybody looks truly unique.

    The addiction is real, be careful.

    Play football with small cars? well, that's something new to me. But i have to say it's the most fun I've had with a game in a really long time. And it's couch co-op! A game you have to try!

    Can't believe how great this is. Can't believe it's only 20 bucks (let alone free for ps plus!) This game puts any wii u party game to shame, as the usually cost 60 bucks with less content - looking at you Splatoon. Lots of modes, lots of customization to unlock - without having to pay extra. This is what gaming is all about.

    This game is very interesting because it's very fun and very simple. You get teams and you shoot a ball in a goal with cars. The only potential downside is that there is a very big component of the gameplay (aiming the ball) which relies mainly on luck, so the game could become boring, but I guess we will see in the coming months.

    I honestly haven't had this much fun on a game in years! I spent over 4 hours last night playing private matches with 5 other friends and we were all having a great time. If you play with friends, expect to hear the term "one more game?" said a lot!!!

    Rocket League is everything I dreamed the sequel would become. The skill ceiling on this game is enormous. Everyday you will get better and yet there is always something to improve upon. The Icing on the delicious cake is that Psyonix plans to release future maps as free DLC. Much love to them and I'm so glad for their success!

    The additional stuff, cars to unlock and 'hats' for cars etc to customise your beast, is all standard but well done all the same, it doesn't feel it's as important as playing the game - and online - it's awesome. 3 vs 3 is a real treat, as while 1 vs 1 is a standard skills test of who is better, playing 3 on 3 gives really good options for tactics - some of which will really aggravate your opposition!

    A brilliant fun game and the first PS+ indie title in a while imo to really cut the mustard. Get for free then find me online for a head to head :)    … Expand

    Prepare yourself for a new addiction! You know that feeling of 'just one last round' only to realize it's already 2 am, well this game does that for you and then some. The more you play, the better you get and that's what gaming is all about. Now if you'll excuse me, I have one last round to play.

    It's a blast to play and it only gets better as skills improve over time and as the competition ramps up. It's a game that everyone, whether they’re big into sports video games or just can’t seem to get into them, will really enjoy.

    I have no problem saying that this is the best and most original sports game I have played since at least FIFA 12. It mixes all the best elements of sports and online multiplayer games into one in an affordable and seamless experience that looks awesome in YouTube videos as well.
