The main addition of Make & Break is the editor, but the franchise still is as enjoyable as ever.

Rock of Ages III: Make & Break is fine. The campaign allows for more flexibility in how you approach the game, but its absurdity works best if you haven't experienced the two prior titles. The core gameplay remains fun and frustrating, with the ball-rolling mechanics providing the bulk of the enjoyment while the defense elements do the same after loads of trial and error. The level creation tool's ease of use gives the game legs, and the busy community has provided a vast library. Overall, Rock of Ages III is a good time as long as you don't expect major improvements over the formula compared to the prior titles.

Rock of Ages 3: Make and Break offers a very different experience in terms of world design and atmosphere, and an entertaining -yet nothing too special- gameplay. It's not a game for everybody, but if you happen to have the right group of people gathered around, you'll have a great time with it.

Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break lives for its editor. It has many good modes to play online, but it lacks innovations.

Despite its hilarious story and its huge creativity, Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break fails in creating a consistent gameplay. Its good ideas and mechanics are too rough in implementation and fall quickly in repetitiveness and frustration, due also to awkward and counterintuitive controls especially in the tower defense part.

There’s a lot to enjoy here if you need a Monkey Ball itch scratched, but Rock Of Ages 3 is a mixed, scrappy ball of ideas that never quite lands. [Issue#179, p.76]

There are parts of Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break that I really came to enjoy. The rolling aspect of the game can be quite rewarding and the humor is consistently outstanding. I also appreciate any game that works well in a split screen local multiplayer today, something which far too many modern games overlook. The tower defense modes just keep showing up, though, and they consistently take away from the experience. Tower defense is never easy on consoles but it can be done, yet on its third try, Rock of Ages is still not where it needs to be. These issues leave us with a muddled experience that can be fun but is hard to enthusiastically recommend.

Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break manages to add some creativity to the familiar framework. Unfortunately a frustrating, repetitive campaign stifles any real sense of progression. The level editor can feel cumbersome but persistence can lead to some interesting creations. Multiplayer and the community levels deliver the more intriguing content but that might not be enough to keep fans invested.

That said, there's still lots of fun to be had. The game is rough around the edges, but the core gameplay is solid and it shines in multiplayer. If you're looking for something different, this is worth a try -- just don't expect to be building masterpieces.

The monty python-esque humor tied to a different spin on the tower defence genre worked together perfectly.
There are very few things the third game does better than the second one and a lot it does worse.

    1) Performance
I currently own a ps4 pro I bought alongside RDR 2 and for some reason this game struggles to hold a stable 30 FPS the moment units are on the field. In the genghis khan level for example I don't think I ever got to 30 FPS at all when rolling the ball. To me this feels like they didn't optimise the game at all.

    2) Music, cutscenes and overall feel
To me the music wasn't up to par to what tue second game did. The citscenes also feel a bit off, I don't know wether they messed with the animations but they don't feel as good visially. There are also few moments I actually laughed at any of the jokes in it (if there were any at all).

    3) content
When ot co.es to RoA 3 its sole thing it has going for it is the amount of content in it. There's some new gamemodes, more interactive bossfights and let's not forget the ability to make your own maps to compete on with friends online. There are also more units and balls than in the games before.

    4)bugs/glitches
Since I booted the game I've been exposed to a plethora of bugs/glitches this game has. From "versus screens" not loading in properly to cutscenes messing up. During matches when going off the edge the game will make your ball face backwards aswell which never has been a problem in earlier games. I've been getting stuck woth my ball having to restart an entire match and so on and so on...

    TLDR;
RoA 3 os a game that fails at almost everything its predecessors do right. Quantity over quality is how I would describe it. It's an unpoliahed mess thay simply can-t compete with RoA 2 so why invest money in thos one? If you're interested in making your own maps and playing with friends online this moght be for you... if you enjoy playing a laggy game.
