Two games. Two nightmares. Explore the origins of the best-selling survival horror series with these remastered versions of the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0.

Two games. Two nightmares. Be prepared to go back to the origins of gaming's best-selling survival horror series in Resident Evil Origins Collection. These remastered versions takes the fear-inducing atmosphere from the original releases and transforms them with stunning new HD visuals, improved sound, widescreen support and an optional modernized control system and more. Theres no better way to experience the beginning of the storied franchise.

In the original Resident Evil, you will choose to take on the role of either S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) team member Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, who have been sent into the city to find the missing Bravo team. When the team is suddenly attacked by a ferocious group of mutated dogs, desperate for an escape they take shelter in the Mansion, but will they ever get out alive again? You will need to be brave as you adventure through the dark, enclosed spaces searching out the horrors that await them. With limited ammo and survival items available, you will need to keep your wits about you to survive the various traps and puzzles that greet you at every stage.

In Resident Evil 0, you go back one day further. Reports have been mounting about unusual murders on the outskirts of Raccoon City. The citys Special Forces division, S.T.A.R.S., sends their Bravo Team - including rookie cop member Rebecca Chambers - to investigate. On route, the teams helicopter suffers engine trouble and is forced to make a crash landing, where they find an overturned prisoner transport vehicle. Splitting up to search the area, Rebecca discovers the Ecliptic Express, a train stopped dead on the tracks. Inside, she meets death row convict and ex-Navy lieutenant Billy Coen. Throughout the game, you will take control of both Rebecca and Billy, at times switching between both characters in order to proceed. Learning the advantages of each character is the key to solving puzzles and surviving the nightmares that lie ahead.

    - Two classic and beloved Resident Evil games.
    - Completely enhanced visuals New high-resolution textures have been created from scratch, including 1080p support on next-gen consoles, while still preserving the classic appearance of the original release.
    - Fully remastered sound effects 5.1 surround support provides a more experiential gaming atmosphere that best matches players listening environments.
    - Experience the horror in the classic 4:3 ratio or newly added 16:9 widescreen mode.
    - Play with the classic control scheme, or enjoy a new alternative scheme where the character moves in the direction of the analogue stick.
    - Fan-favorite Resident Evil characters Resident Evil features series mainstays Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, while Resident Evil 0 showcases rookie S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers and wanted criminal Billy Coen.
    - Wesker Mode - After completing Resident Evil 0's main storyline, you will be able to take control of series antagonist Albert Wesker, and use his superhuman abilities to power through the missions.

A great package packed with modern-day Resident Evil nostalgia. The original horror elements in the franchise stand as tall today as they did back then, but some of both game’s mechanics may annoy newcomers.

If you’re a fan of this saga, this is the best collection of Resident Evil available on the market.

Resident Evil Origins Collection is not really worth it. There are no extras and every game is already on sale for half the price of this collection. The inventory of Resident Evil Zero is so complex that it still makes the game feel like work. Just play Resident Evil HD Remaster and stick with that, please.

RE: Origins Collection is still the closest thing we have to a proper original Resident Evil remake but it is still an amazing title worthy ofRE: Origins Collection is still the closest thing we have to a proper original Resident Evil remake but it is still an amazing title worthy of a near perfect score. If you are a survival horror fan and have somehow never picked this up stop reading right now and just go and buy this game. The only minor things that stop this game from getting a perfect score from me is that some of the pre-rendered artwork scenes have clearly just been put through some filters rather than being re-made which does cause visual inconsistencies and the menus have some rather horrible colour banding issues, the latter of these problems at least I would have though could be fixed for the ports to PC, Switch, XBOne and PS4, but nope. If you are craving a classic survival horror experience made with pre-rendered backdrops this is probably the last game that did it and masterfully done it was. There is still something you get from an artists high resolution static backdrop that you just can't accurately create and portray in a fully 3D environment and as the last game of a now dead game design concept you owe it to yourself to play the finest example of where art, imagination, and 3D combine seemlessly. Found myself really enjoying these two games in the HD remaster. Zero in particular I found myself hooked until completing it. The puzzlesFound myself really enjoying these two games in the HD remaster. Zero in particular I found myself hooked until completing it. The puzzles were fun and engaging and the combat is still good even in todays standards. Voice acting in this era is wasn’t the best by any means but it’s still better than some other games during this era lol Expand

Coming off the back of the recent disappoint RE2R I was still looking for a good RE fix with the Resident Evil remake. The static environmentComing off the back of the recent disappoint RE2R I was still looking for a good RE fix with the Resident Evil remake. The static environment art style looks a lot better than RE2R to point RE2R art style looked plastic in comparison. The music set a good creepy tone and the lighting effects created a really spooky look to it all. VA and dialogue no better or worse than RER2. Story is again just action heroes versus all manner of freaky created by the mad science of a evil corporation.

Combat could be annoying at times due to not being able to see what I was shooting off camera. Those turbo zombies were a right old pain in the arse. Combat was more simplified, but this type of old school RE was more about exportation and puzzles. Which had a lot more puzzles to do than RER2. The usual limited inventory and back tracking to chest to store/resupply was the same pain in the arse like RER2.

I really like the new additional movement style and that really helped make this game less a frustrating experience compared to say RE4 and even RE5 movement scheme. I got what I expected with this style of remake, but I expected far more with the RER2 remake. So I am not disappointed in this, but neither am I blown away.

Resident Evil 0 I have next to zero interest and totally forgot this game existed until this collection jogged my memory. The Resident Evil remake was enough for me to get this collection alone.
