And why does this game have to be extremely short with 80% of recycled material from RE2 and 7? At least use the same assets and make the game bigger with more story, not to mention locations.... c'mon... RE2make was great. This one...... affff. So, here it is, another game for 2020 that some people hate it, and other love it. Technically, it's perfect. The story changes major events from the original games. Some loved it, some hated it. I think it was a good move. I mean, what's the point playing the exact same game with better graphics? Except making money and sell the game to a younger audience of course! RE3 changes a lot, and wants a fast pace. The problem is not here in fact, the problem is that, they removed events from the original, changed things, but didn't add a lot to replace all that. Consequences? The game is short, very short, and there is no replay value. Just one character, one ending, one straight line, and that's it. I would say it's a good little game, but far from the original, and far from RE2 remake last year. Expand

Same gameplay and mechanics than RE2 Remake but now you can dodge. Didn't play the original RE3 but this is much more focused on action than on puzzle solving. Also graphics are great but it is extremely short, only 4 to 5 hours in campaign mode. It has an online multiplayer add on that I haven't tried but I would rather have a longer story.

Despite having great protagonists, a better antagonist plus still fun and enjoyable in its own right. However the other aspects of RE3 Remake are inferior to its predecessor.

The game has a severe lack of content, and no, I am not referring to cut levels like the Clock Tower. That stuff does not matter. What matters is that the game is absurdly short compared to its original, the story is weak even by RE standards, with no excuse at this point in modern game design for bad acting and writing, and the gameplay lacks the depth and variety its original, or even the RE2 remake had to offer.
    Remakes
The option to go further into combat while still trying to maintain some of that RE horror was risky and did not entirely pay off. However the gameplay is smooth, fun, and since the game is so short, never gets old on you. Had more time been given to make the game longer I would hope the variety of combat would have been increased as well. The lack of puzzle and exploration is the largest failure for the game, alongside the iconic villain being relegated to a few scripted encounters and boss fights.

In conclusion, a decent game that suffers from a lack of content, almost surely due to the forced inclusion of time and effort to develop a multiplayer mode RE: Resistance. Had this not been a part of the game's development there is no doubt in my mind the glaring lack of content and variety would have been resolved.

Its a worse version of resident evil 2 in almost every aspect
The game is so short that most players will beat in around 6 hours
    The story is very basic
They butchered the nemsis, you only face him as the OG form one time and then it transforms into a very basic form that has been used in so many games, it looks mire like ALIEN than nemsis
This remake needs a remake itself.

Y quiero resltar, NO SON MUCHOS.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After beating this game 3 times now, once on Normal, Hard, & Nightmare mode, I'd say I'm ready to review it.

Let me first stick to my positives. Graphically this game is great, maybe even slightly better than RE2 Remake. Nemesis new design is great & more monstrous this time around. The dodge feature from the original RE3 has been improved upon greatly imo, as I never really got the hang of the dodge maneuver from the original. Character wise I liked the updates for Jill & Carlos. The Hospital section of this game is excellent from atmosphere & level design. Also the harder difficulties have good variences as far difficulty as well as enemy placements, well at least on Nightmare mode & Inferno although I haven't beat it on Inferno yet.

Now for the negatives & unfortunately there's a lot of negatives for me.
I'd say my biggest problem with this game is the it is that Raccoon City is too small & linear to me. The game being short isn't necessarily the issue for me as the original RE3 is short as well, although I took longer to beat it than the Remake the last time I played which was about a month ago. Now I will say it's not that the original RE3 was that big either but that doesn't mean the Remake should have been small as well, after all a great Remake like RE1 adds on to things & locations, not take away from them which goes into my next complaint.

To many areas and things cut from the original, like not being able to create stronger ammo for instance. The cut locations from the original RE3 is The Clock Tower, The Newspaper Office, Gas Station unexplorable in Remake, Restaurant unexplorable in Remake, Downtown section is the beginning of the original RE3 & this is unexplorable as well since you can't backtrack to it. City Hall, The Park, The Graveyard & the Dead Factory as well as a few other locations are missing in this Remake. Now I know they replaced the Dead Factory with the Lab in the Remake. I personally prefered the Dead Factory for a number of reasons I won't spoil from the original.

Next on the list is the linear structure of this game. In the original you were given these choices on if you wanted to fight Nemesis or do a certain action to get away from him. There were also other choices that didn't involve Nemesis. Also depending on where you went first certain events would come up in the way of a cutcsene. This was unique because you could envail new events that you didn't see on your first playthrough. The Remake is very linear in this regard. You aren't given any choices, & most of the time besides the beginning City area you don't have to backtrack for anything. They could have made it so the areas you go to you have to make a choice on where to go & you can't go everywhere on your first playthrough, because the point is to escape the city but you have these obstacles in the way as well as Nemesis.

My last negative is how Nemesis was handled in this Remake. I was hoping for Nemesis to really be a prowler most of this game but he wasn't. Also there's a new character in this game that they introduce & they just kill him off right away. Also the civilians that were shown in the beginning are pointless in this. Later you get the train running but Nemesis kills the civilians & before that point you don't meet or interact with any of them. You don't find any of them in the city so it was a missed opportunity to add more stakes to the story. Also Jill not going to the Police Station is just stupid.

I have more cons but I'm already into the review to long now.
My verdict for RE3 Remake is it's ok but pales in comparison to the original besides some better updates in the gameplay, mainly being the dodge function.

I won't bash the play-time since the original was just as short, however I will say that the latter half of this game is inconsistent with the classic RE level design. A solid game all around, esoteric for hardcore RE fans.

An alright game. A bad remake.
It is OK as a generic action game, but as a remake carrying the Resident Evil 3 title, it is missing a lot. Live selection, key locations and enemies have been cut out leaving nothing but emptiness on their place. The story has been compressed and the pace is lacking rhythm, always going on at full speed without any slowdown. One has to question what went

I know that the original was similar, but i expected to be more accurate is the scenes and scenarios that were presented in the original game. for me was terrible not having the clock tower scenario, or the RPD with Jill. I was expecting how is was going to be the harassment of nemesis in this part... unfortunately this didnt happened.

As far for the rest, for me was okey, graphics, sound, characters, etc. definitely a must have game, but not for full price.

BTW, the online feature its a mess, i didnt try it, its was really unnecessary and i think nobody plays it to much. waste of time and money on that part that should have been invested in the main game. a shame.

No idea what happened but let's just say capcom got greedy and went back to making cash grabs. And this really wasn't ok. They did such a great job with re2 so this really is very sad. It's an expensive but short game with little replay.

It looks ok but if you've played a real game like re2 or the excellent days gone. That's a flawed but a huge game with endless variety and end game content. The zombies on re3 are basically rubbish and much of the game is scripted.

Way too much time or money was devoted to the microtransactions heavy online multiplayer rubbish. And that should upset you as one amazing game has been sacrificed for rubbish which will be canned in a year or two.

Sound is good and gameplay fine just nothing special and it's mostly scripted events. This isn't re2remake. And they cut a fair amount out of the original game for again no good reason.

    Buy on sale.

Unfortunately it isn't. It is not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but all of the stuff I loved from the 2nd game seemed to be missing from this. There is no where near as much puzzle solving. A great part of resi 2 was trying to work out what room you need to go in to unlock certain things, etc, but resi 3 is mostly missing this.

I had heard before the game released that nemesis was relentless and far more frightening than mr X, he is but only in the very first section of the game, after that you only ever face him in incredibly easy boss fights which totally removes the tension from the game. It is also a very short experience and the £50 price is far too expensive for what is on offer. It is still fun to play, so don't think that I am saying this game is bad, it is just disappointing from what came before.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I do appreciate this game, but not without some faults. Yes the beginning of the game was great the first time, but it only annoys me after repeated playthroughs, the amount of cutscenes I'm forced to skip to get to the "meat" of the gameplay doesn't feel fun.

I am indifferent on the "feel" of the city, at times it feels alive... er undead, dead, and just really gamey.
There are parts where they just shoved zombies outside of a fence that you cant get over there to fight them, so you just run past without a care in the world, and it's very blatantly obvious that they failed on the tension front because of that. Overall, zombie placement outside is just poorly done.

Resistance is worthless to me, I have almost never liked any Resident Evil online mode, EXCEPT for Operation Raccoon City, and that's sad.

So far, I’ve played Re2 remaster, Re6 and this one. Here’s how I see it:

Re2 remaster was more polished. Longer, more interesting story. 9/20

Re6 is my fav Resident Evil game so far 10/10. Amazing story, a great game.

After the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake, Capcom, unsurprisingly, released the remake of Resident Evil 3, a title originally released for PS1, PC, Dreamcast and, a few years later, GameCube. After finishing the campaign in about 5 hours and 20 minutes, it is time to say my justice about this new survival horror from Capcom. Does it live up to the original version?

It is late September 1998, the day before the events of Resident Evil 2. Jill Valentine tries to escape from Raccon City, because chaos is in place. Due to Umbrella's secret experiences, the majority of the population has turned into Zombies. But Jill's life gets even more complicated when she is chased by a big, ugly, horrifying and tooth-armed monster called Nemesis. Along the way, Jill will meet Carlos Oliveira, and together, they will try to find a way to survive the terrible events. And more I don't say to spoil the surprise to those who never played the original.

Resident Evil 3, like the remake of Resident Evil 2, uses the excellent game engine RE Engine and, as you would expect, says goodbye to the fixed cameras of the first Resident Evil. The third-person camera maintains the proximity to the style presented in the remake of Resident Evil 2, and also provides greater realism and immersion, without losing the visual essence of the original game.

When we start the adventure, we can choose between three levels of difficulty: Assisted, Standard and Hardcore. What are the diferences? In Assisted, players have aim assist, recover a certain amount of life automatically, enemies are relatively weak, start the game with an assault rifle and receive more ammunition when crafting. Standard is the typical normal difficulty. In Hardcore, enemies are stronger, ammunition and items are scarcer and crafting gives less ammunition. Newcomers to the Resident Evil series can start with Assisted or Standard to get used to it, but veterans will certainly move to Hardcore soon.

Avoid spending bullets on zombies, use on bosses instead, especially in the most advanced difficulty, is the best option. For those who already know the Resident Evil series, weapons like pistols, assault rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers and grenade launchers are present in this remake. The same goes for healing items, such as Green and Red herbs.

In terms of gameplay, it is very similar to the remake of Resident Evil 2, so anyone who liked this title will have a huge smile playing this remake. It's fun to explore Raccon City with this super smooth and fluid gameplay. It should be noted that Jill has the dodge mechanics as they had in the original game, which makes sense, since he is an operative with more training than Leon and Claire. However, there is a difference. Now, when executing a perfect dodge, the action slows for a few moments, thus giving an opportunity to counterattack.

Graphically, it maintains the same graphic quality as the remake of Resident Evil 2. For those who are fans of this series or games of this genre, it is quite satisfying to see the pale and lifeless faces of the zombies, as well as the detail of their wounds, and the way they are staggering towards us. The same goes for zombie dogs and other monsters. The characters and enemies underwent redesigns in order to modernize their look, as is the case with Jill, Carlos and Nemesis. In the case of Jill, there was a positive redesign in my opinion. I know this might be awkward for some fans of the old design, but the Jill Valentine of the original looks more like a character in the James Bond films, whereas in the remake version, I feel like she really is a character of Resident Evil universe.

As for the differences between the original and the remake, one with great impact is the absence of different endings and choices that affect the course of the adventure. This ends up having a consequence in the game's longevity, because there is less incentive to repeat the campaign. In addition, the Mercenaries mode has also been cut from the remake, further reducing single-player content. In place of this mode is Resident Evil Resistant, a 4 v 1 multiplayer mode.

It is certainly funny to see Nemesis trying to hit us with a Rocket Launcher, but I think the tension in the original has been reduced. Even Syndrome, which was a terrible game, showed more tension, despite its technical mistakes being even more frightening. Yes, the songs in this remake are good and fit well in different situations, but nothing more than that. The short campaign and the absence of any single-player content is also not in favor. Resident Evil 3 is a good game, but it could have been a lot better if certain things hadn't been cut.

Resident Evil 3 feels more of a repeat of Resident Evil 2, except everything done worse. Nemesis was a badly thought out villain who wasn't as terrifying or bad as Capcom made him out to be. The game was too short, and the pacing was off. Overall I was really disappointed with Resident Evil 3.

This was tough to judge, but ultimately I feel that Resident Evil 3 is simply the sum of its parts and that some of those parts fall short as it is. This is a great game to buy on sale and play over a weekend (or possibly one day) and probably never feel the urge to return to it.

I don't usually like to bring up pricepoints in reviews, but for some reason it's unavoidable in this game.

I don't usually like to bring up pricepoints in reviews, but for some reason it's unavoidable in this game. Maybe it's the stunning visuals, sometimes marred by obvious and awful flaws. Maybe it's the fantastic area designs which impress at first but are systematically abandoned by the game before they can truly charm. Or maybe it's the misuse of Nemesis, who from the beginning is so nerfed that I literally never once worried about him.

This could have been something special, if not on par with last year's phenomenal Resident Evil 2. Even as a brief, spin-off adventure, it could have succeeded if it committed more to its ideas. But as it is it seems they may have decided to play it safe at the last minute. The game decidedly feels not just the usual "unfinished" or "unpolished" but downright amateurish and unprofessional. It would not surprise me to learn that this game was made by a junior team. I don't hate it, but I'm never ordering this dish again.

As a RE3 fan I enjoyed the game. There is a lot of replay value here. My biggest gripes are the length is a bit short. The final form boss fight is either laughable on lower difficulty’s, or living hell on the hardest difficulty. It becomes a pattern repetition game that just doesn’t fit in this game. Just like in every other Resident Evil game I've played, the story in Resident Evil 3 isn't good but it's not an important part of these games anyway.
The characters though, they're... alright, I guess? The side-characters are completely irrelevant but the main characters are actually pretty likable.
The gameplay is very similar to Resident Evil 2's gameplay but faster and more smooth, it's extremely fun once again, however, the headshots don't feel as satisfying for some reason, and the puzzles have been toned down so much, they're almost absent.
Also, the atmosphere is really good for the most part and it's not surprising that the graphics are incredible, and the audio design is amazing too.
Now, I haven't played the original game before, so I don't mind the cut content, however, I suppose because of that, the game is very short; it only took me 4 to 5 hours to finish my playthrough, and that's a bit underwhelming.
Last but not least, Nemesis, a tyrant who is supposed to be a major threat in the game, is not utilized well; he only appears in linear scripted events or boss fights, which are disappointing.

Kinda what I expected, is not as bad as some people say it is, however it was definitely not worth the full price since is VERY SHORT and has no replayabilty, it could ve been more open and better, yes, it could ve been more fun gameplay wise. This is in between re2 and re4 and has little stuff from each one of them, its not as restrained as re2 but its neither as fun as re4.

The weakest Resident Evil Remake so far, it feels a little bit underwhelming but it's still entertaining even though some later parts drag on.
First things first, the game is very linear and always holds the player's hand, especially in the first few hours, you literally just walk forward to watch cutscenes and interact with some things now and then.

First things first, the game is very linear and always holds the player's hand, especially in the first few hours, you literally just walk forward to watch cutscenes and interact with some things now and then.

It's almost identical to Resident Evil 2 Remake in so many ways, and not in a good way, some areas are literally copy pasted, and there's no innovation. Also it's not very scary, the hospital section is a bit creepy and has a nice dark atmosphere, but some of the puzzles are quite tedious.

What I liked the most is the core gameplay, it's overall an enjoyable game, the shooting feels satisfying, and the evade mechanic helps a lot, Jill's movement is perfect and works well with the gameplay mechanics.

The characters are okay, I really liked Jill, she's very cute and badass, and her animations look smooth and adorable, she's pretty much the star of the show. Carlos is a cool companion and he has the stronger weapons, playing as him made the game more fun.

Backtracking felt nice, the areas are a bit short but there's a good amount of exploration, you can find collectibles, resources, notes that give the story more depth and just random small little secrets.

It's worth mentioning that the story is sadly very uninteresting, incredibly short, predictable with a terrible antagonist, and a lot of cut content. Lastly, Nemesis is unfortunately just some scripted sequences, and the boss fights are very disappointing. I really like his new design and voice though, he looks menacing and scary.

In the end, I really wanted to like this game, and I kind of did... I mean, my thoughts about it are mostly positive, but it could've been so much more. Regardless, I had a good time playing though it even though it has some serious flaws.

    Final Rating: "Decent" ~ 6/10.

This could have been so so so much more. One of the best RE bosses, was just wasted in this weak game. There's moments that are well done, but overall it deserved so much more. Jill deserved so much more as well, she was too monotone here imo. Hopefully they don't repeat this mistake with RE4.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is the most disappointing Capcom game in recent years, which is not only not considered a worthy remake of the original version, but also not very attractive as an original game, and besides all these problems, very little content is included in the game, which Its $60 price tag doesn't match However, Resident Evil 3 is a nemesis-oriented and short action experienceResident Evil 3 Remake is the most disappointing Capcom game in recent years, which is not only not considered a worthy remake of the original version, but also not very attractive as an original game, and besides all these problems, very little content is included in the game, which Its $60 price tag doesn't match However, Resident Evil 3 is a nemesis-oriented and short action experience that can be experienced once, but does not motivate the audience to repeat it again. Final Thoughts:

There is a lot I could say about Resident Evil 3: Remake, but I know it’d descend into rambling so I’ll keep things basic. 3: Remake is a fun and ferocious instalment that benefits greatly from the mechanics refined in 2: Remake. It looks and sounds beautiful, creating, in my opinion, a much more layered Jill Valentine before setting her loose in Raccoon City as it burns

It all sounds great until you scratch the surface away. Resident Evil 3: Remake suffers in a similar, if worse, way as the original did (the original is by far my favourite game from its trilogy): a lack of any real care. Where 2 was painstakingly built, 3 cheaply reuses, butchers, and churns out just what it needs to deliver and nothing more. 3: Remake takes those things and regresses them further, removing fan-favourite sections of the game and reducing its main and iconic villain of Nemesis to an unexciting annoyance.

Jill, probably the most underutilised core character, deserved better.

Less scary and more action. If you were too much scared to play RE2 or you wanted more action game then I definitely recommend this one because it feels like more action oriented DLC.

Average. Ok as standalone but they really missed a great opportunity to tell (for me) one of the best stories in the series: Jill's escape from Raccoon City being persued by the iconic nemesis. Even if they made all the changes and cuts but still made it 10 hours or so I could swallow it but a 4/5 hour main story is really poor considering the stellar games that have released either sideAverage. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I understand why people feel disappointed with this game, but i liked it. It gave me pretty good scares, the. Nemesis at the downtown was terrifying with his new design, even though that he goes down by one grenade. But if you play it on nightmare or inferno there will be a small chance that you will even get a grenade because you have to use them against the other monsters. I love this version of Jill and Carlos too!.

Literally every encounter i had with the nemesis was terrifying. And they should have included the clock tower.

I really think that they could have done way better with this game but unfortunately no.

This game is a solid 7.9/10.

And btw when the nemesis turned into that dog thing he wasn't even scary. But when he turned into that giant thingh in the end, he was a little scary... Just a bit.

Even though it is a very successful game, you will feel a little disappointed. Compared to the remake of the second game, this one often loses its pace and it is impossible to get rid of the impression that there could and should have been more to this game. [Issue#303]

All we can say is that six hours of Resident Evil 3 is just enough - and we're aware that's both compliment and curse. [Issue#346, p.88]

After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
