    I don't want to say much about good things since other reviewers already mentioned so many of them. Capcom already nailed it with amazing details in both environment and enemies, thus make the horror surviving gen come back. Character models also look fantastic. It is definitely successful remake. However, there are two reasons that I deduct the points from 10 to 8

    1. Story - 1st and 2nd scenario have very little differences, and story in both Leon and Claire are not strong enough in my opinion. I think Leon and Claire should have more chances to meet with each others. Story could be more engaging, rather than just a reason for you to go to next location.

    2.The price is a little too high for the content. It took me 9 hours to beat Leon and 6.5 hours for Claire. However, for Claire, they mostly use the same locations from Leon. The content is lacking.(There are a lot of backtracking too, so the real value hours in content should be very short,) I think the right price should be 40-50 USD for a remake.

    In conclusion, Resident evil 2 remake is a epitome of a game that has amazing quality but poor quantity, unless, you don't mind running the same locations ofc. Still, when I compare this game with Last of us, which is the same genre (and I gave Last of us 10/10) , Resident Evil 2 is clearly not that level yet. I think 8/10 is fair score for RE2 remake. I would love if Capcom add more contents and deepen the story. It is surely intense terrifying game. I have a great time with it, but it is too short for a 60 USD game.    … Expand

    This remake to one of the greatest games of all time not only re-invents it into this generation flawlessly, it's brought the Resident Evil series back to where it really belongs. Resident Evil 2 is near perfect; my only gripe being the story scenarios not making as much sense as the original.     Resident Evil 2 is a survival horrors game that tells the story of Leon and Clair, youre able to choose which character to play as.. Your initial playthrough of this game will take around 6 and a half hours, but much like nier automata, technically the fully game is both playthroughs combined, but also like nier automata, nah, when the credits roll, the credits roll. Youre missing only a sliver of unique sections by only playing one side of the story, you can get the rest from youtube as for the most part, each playthrough shares the same main sections and boss fights… I chose to play as rookie officer Leon Kennedy that sets out to put a stop to umbrella corp after an outbreak of a virus turns the citizens of ratcoon city into zombies, This is very much a fetch quest, explore, backtrack, save, combine, set up, and execute type of game.. one that can at first feel quite overwhelming, but once you get into the groove of things its satisfying exploring every inch of a room for key, items, and clues to safes for uprades so that youre able to carry more items in your inventory or upgrade your weapons, and the game does a great job at color coding rooms where you still have items to search for or that are completely cleaned out, so you never feel like youre running around with your head cut off…though in your way of each room are zombies, youlls spend most of your time in the first hours of this game boarding up windows, and trying to gather everything you can to survive as you inch your way through this massive police station, solving small problems that lead to a chain reaction of large problems being solved.. all while being stalked by an invincible monster, but like resident evil 7, the moment the game ventures away from the beginning section into new areas, the game starts to lose its charm and by its end becomes a bit of a chore to get through.. though the keyword here is bit, because it still manages to be enjoyable and it sways on the verge of chore, just as you begin to feel the loop of the game is getting old, its nearing its end… resident evil puts a nice bow on top and gives you the option to do it one more time for more scenarios, cutscenes, and the true ending…
    And this is where I happily walked away.
    Resident Evil 2 does a great job at being an enjoyable and terrifying experience, it doesn’t over stay its welcome, it never becomes frustrating, it never does too much of the same thing… this is a near perfectly balanced survival horror type game.. it stays true to what it was, and brings it up to todays standards so that we can all enjoy it in the way most remember it,
    I give Resident Evil 2

    This's how a remake must be! Capcom do right job doing it, unchanging the story core but change everything (to better).
    RE2 Remake has a bunch a things to enjoy .... several hours just playing new game but felling playing old RE2!

    Resident evil 2 Remake is everything that I was hoping it would be. The game envisions how Resident evil 2 was meant to be. Fear lurks around every dark corner and your senses are turned to survival to survive the night. This is a classic game just like the original and sets the benchmark what made the Resident Evil series great from beginning. Great job development team.

    I would suggest that having a few more zombies in the police station would have impressed the overall population of the infected city. Having them break through windows or rattling the doors and windows at times would have added to the atmosphere of being one of the few survivors in an infected city.

    Highly overrated but a good game. It is no chance that RE2 Remake is better than RE4, but of course that is my opinion. This game represents a decent story with interesting characters and have some great and scary moments, but the overall experience is okey. It's a kinda game we all have played before so I give it a 8/10.

    The absolute remake of a timless classic

    the only reason I am giving this a '9' is that it is infact, a remake, and not an entirely original work --

    The gameplay is the best the series has ever seen and the zombies never felt and scarier; the physics are also top notch

    RE Engine is a beast.

O jogo tem bastantes detalhes que te prendem e envolve no jogo. Com uma jogabilidade incrível e empolgante que faz você querer sempre fazer novos desafios. A campanha, apesar de não seguir o roteiro original, é envolvente e fazUm dos melhores Resident Evil que já joguei. Sou fã dessa série e o Resident Evil 2 foi um dos que mais joguei na época do PS1, pois comecei a série por esse jogo. O jogo tem bastantes detalhes que te prendem e envolve no jogo. Com uma jogabilidade incrível e empolgante que faz você querer sempre fazer novos desafios. A campanha, apesar de não seguir o roteiro original, é envolvente e faz você recriar a história do jogo.     One of the best Resident Evil I've ever played. I'm a fan of this series and Resident Evil 2 was one of the most played in the PS1 era, because I started the series for this game. The game has enough details that entrap you and involves in the game. With incredible and exciting gameplay that makes you want to always make new challenges. The campaign, while not following the original script, is engaging and makes you recreate the story of the game. Regardless of whether they have links or not between the story of one with the other.     I always hated horror games, and I'd never played a resident evil game but playing RE2 remake changed my mind it's really a great game the level design could be better but the game is still so exciting to play

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. You did a wonderful job Capcom. You managed to give new life to a masterpiece, and this is a rarity. As a RE and a horror videogame in general, it won everything.
    But, I have to say that making us do the same puzzles again in scenario 2, with the same boss battles and etc, wasn't a good idea. Furthermore, the story of Leon can't mix properly with the background's story. There is no point for him to fight Birkin. I'm not pleased with scenario 2 at all(and Leon's story in general), it felt like a waste of time, more like a way to extend the longevity of the game.

    If I should give a feedback, how I would have done it and what I would love to see one of these months, is one more "canon" scenario(fixed in Claire 1, Leon 2), where Leon doesn't need to do the same things Claire did. He should just be a witness of Claire's doing, with all the puzzles solved and all Birkin's battles avoided.
    You should just put the two electronic parts in the rooms exclusive to Leon, make him find the medikit that he uses on Ada(that currently is coming from nowhere)and make Leon meet Annette while she is preparing the solution to weaken Birkin(or maybe let him read one of her documents about the truth on Ada, or let her speak with him trough the speaker), without Ada being shot. Lastly, put more enemies for Leon to fight. The zapping system should return too, allowing him to access to all Claire's items stored in the box, excluding her weapons. This way there are less puzzles but a more challenging quest. The scenario is not too long, but it would be a bonus to what the game already offers.    … Expand

The game uses the same blueprint as the older titles and introduces new elements such as a 3rd person point of view (like after the 4th game) and autosave and so forth while still retaining the tactical element of the older ones such as saving your ammo and not killing every enemy in your way. As comparing to the original the story is about the same some little changes here and there and two playable character scenarios also make a return. Where the game does better than the original is the horror aspect as the generic zombies you've seen in many RE and other games are not just a simple "shoot them in the head and be done with it" no they take a lot more sometimes even a shotgun blast to the head cant kill them instantly so you have to be careful with your shots. I could go on and on about the good things of this game but as a remake this game is a little bit a hit and miss. Let's start with the music. Ok it's not bad I mean it is almost non existent throughout the game I mean there are a few good tracks such as the save room theme and Mr. X's themes but all and all the original soundtrack is much more memorable. Secondly I would like to talk about the enemy types. Well the enemies we get in this are fine. Aside from your typical undead we get mutants who spit poison which makes your characters weaker and need for anti-poisoning healing items, plant zombies or whatever they are that kill you in one hit if you don't have an defensive item on you to escape their grasp, and also zombie dogs. Comparing to the original there aren't so many enemy variations so that bothers me a little but it's a personal opinion I think they tried to make the game more realistic in tone so maybe skip the mutants spiders then, they would've been cool tho. And lastly the A and B scenarios or as in this one they are called "2nd run" which you unlock for the other character after completing the game once with a character. You've probably heard this one if you have read some reviews but yeah this was done better in the original.
    Resident Evil 2 2019 is one of the better games in the series and an excellent survival horror game no doubt about that but a few things keep it from being the best RE. The original felt more grander is scale and more full or something I don't know how to say it, but one thing is for sure Resident Evil is back on its feet and slowly stumbling towards the future of survival horror.    … Expand

    I haven't played RE2 close on 20 years now, but what amazes me is how this remake can make me feel just like I felt back then. It is so much better with the modern graphics and gameplay, way better voice acting. I don't mind Leon's new face much and I definitely like the new Claire more. I hope they'll do Nemesis next, maybe even Code Veronica.

    Rethinking the second part is the best thing that happened to the Resident Evil universe. After the failure of the 7th part, Resident Evil 2 is just a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, I was not familiar with the original, but I really liked this restart. At the moment I passed the game 2 times.
    Minuses.
    * The first minus refers to the scenario of the game - this is "excessive donation." I was already bored to watch the characters say to each other: "Leave me, go away." Somewhere it was appropriate. For example, at the moment when Leon sheltered Ada from bullets, it is appropriate here, because Leon began to lose consciousness and thought he was dying. But, unfortunately, these phrases were almost everywhere.
    *The second minus refers to a small amount of memorable music. Only two music that I remember is the song in the credits, in script B and in the room to save. Everything. Music from the original does not count.
    *Russian localization. SoftClub you are just "gods". Capcom, please do not pay these idlers and ignoramuses money for localizing the game.
    The strengths of the game!
    +Story line. For this genre of game the plot is excellent. A bunch of new stories that are either made from scratch or supplemented. Even a love scene has been added. And that's good, because the characters look alive, but you don't have to go too far.
    +Graphics and everything connected with it. Capcom simply made divine detailing of the smoldering of cigarettes, the burning of flammable liquids, sparks and pieces of meat.
    +Animation of characters and other things. Looking at the characters, sometimes you think you are watching a movie, although there are places where the animation is “lame”, but in general it is great, especially the animation of burgers. :)

Seriously, Capcom knew what to do in that aspect, but then we have the new soundtrack which is the most forgettable one I have ever heard. Nothing good, even though some people put their hearts and time to create it and I respect that. This game lacks on content to keep me hocked for more than a week. I finished both campaigns and their respective B-scenario and this weird feeling was left inside of me after finishing it. I know some DLC is in our way but they should put that content within the full game, not as a DLC. Still, I’m glad they made this game and hopefully RE3 will get the same treatment as this game.… Expand

    Still surprised on how much this game has to offer. This game gets you at the edge of your seat most of the time. Remember when 5 zombies could still not be a threat, this time I pray on not finding more than one in a room. Love the feel, love the tension. This is the resident evil that I love.

    Capcom decided to remake the 1998 classic, Resident Evil 2. Will this remake be as good the original or is it going to be a remake not worth playing through?

    Much like its 1998 counterpart, you play as 2 characters, Leon Kennedy and Clair Redfield. Both are trying to make it through the virus infected Raccoon city to achieve their goals. Leon is a rookie cop just trying to make his way after finding the police station he was stationed at is abandoned and Clair is looking for her brother among the chaos. The story is very simplistic and can be very cheesy at times. This works in its favor since it is a nice homage to the original. Beautiful cutscenes and decent voice acting make the story of this game better than the 1998 original.

    This is one of the best survival horror game to date thanks to its gameplay. Ditching the tank controls of the past for a free moving camera and over the shoulder aiming. The gameplay can be super intense, from managing your ammo and items, solving well-made puzzles that can be a bit easy at times, and from running away from enemies when you have nothing left. The new gameplay mechanics helps ramp up the horror aspect to an 11 and completely surpasses the original. My only complaint is that the zombie AI can be wonky at times. Getting stuck in doors or on a side of a wall. This is a minor complaint since it does not happen often. This game is a new standard for survival horror games in the future.

    The soundtrack from this game is superb. Many chilling tracks that amp up the horror that the game is trying to convey. The sound design that accompanies this soundtrack is just as chilling. This game looks amazing thanks to the realism that Capcom is able to achieve with the RE engine. Gameplay and cutscenes run at a buttery smooth 60 FPS with little to no drops in performance. The fact that this game looks good, sounds good and run flawlessly at the same time makes this game a technical marvel.

    Resident Evil 2 (2019) gets the foundation on the PS1 classic and makes a game that surpasses the original. This game is a beautiful amalgamation of everything that makes a great survival horror while honoring the original work. If you never played a RE game before, I can’t recommend this game enough as it’s a good starting point. If you have played a RE game before or even the original RE 2, this is still a must buy game.

    Talvez seja meu melhor jogo da geração, estou pensando sobre isso, pois o trono é do Bloodborne.

    Very fun game, it's near Picture perfect compared to the original RE2 game. I had a blast playing it and there is no MTX here and plus there is more free dlc coming out for this game on top of an already masterpice worthy game. It's fantastic!

I kinda wish they added just a little more extra content, as the campaigns between both Leon and Claire will only get you about 12 hours of gameplay for the main story. For a resident evil game, however, that’s about the norm. Also, there were some minor graphical issues in the lab towards the end, but nothing major. I would honestly say this is the best, and most challenging game in the franchise, close to RE4 for me. Hopefully this is 2019 GOTY, it deserves it!… Expand

Again, it is a great remake but as a standalone game it falls short of content. The graphics are great, gameplay is fun, the story is okay.     This game really exceeds my Expectations. I love the original and this remake is even better. I love the extra content they added.playing as ada was so much fun and playing as Sherry was terrifying trying to hide from that creep. Then they gave us free DLC! Hopefully Capcom will remake others!

However, this game is missing a few things the original had. The Zapping system, the scenario variations and boss fights. I would have loved it if CAPCOM kep these game mechanics. Also what terror is lost during the shooting is made up for during the still super atmospheric exploration and puzzle solving. If you're a fan of the older games you won't be disappointed and the harder difficulties will in fact fill you with the same desperation as RE2 did back when you played it on PS1.     The game is really good and a major step in the right direction for the franchise, the only issues is that both campaigns are pretty much the same thing and Claire's face could have been better looking.     Después de 20 años de haber salido el original Resident Evil 2, CAPCOM decidió darle una pequeña sacudida al título y nos trae esta obra maestra en todo su esplendor y de la manera en que debería de jugarse sin limitaciones. Lo primero que notarás es el obvio salto en gráficas. Leon S. Kennedy y Claire Redfield regresan como los protagonistas del incidente de Raccoon City junto con Sherry Birkin y Ada Wong como personajes secundarios.

    La historia es exactamente la misma, sin embargo, hay una cantidad considerable de cambios necesarios en varios aspectos. La acción transcurre en la estación de policía de Raccoon City para después avanzar hacia las mismas instalaciones de Umbrella, pero la manera en que se suscitan los hechos cambia. Es aquí donde entra el término de reimaginación.

    Lo mismo, pero es un juego completamente distinto.

    Gracias a la nueva movilidad, las luces se mantienen apagadas y vagarás por los rumbos en una obscuridad casi total que te hará hacer uso de una linterna que tu personaje usará frecuentemente de manera automática. Claro, habrá momentos en los que puedas revivir la fuente de iluminación, pero no cuentes mucho con ello.

    ¿Es un juego para todos?

    Las generaciones actuales no están acostumbradas al género survival horror, y es culpa del mismo CAPCOM, ya que desde Resident Evil 4 nos malacostumbraron a ver a los enemigos como piñatas por la gran cantidad de municiones y hierbas regenerativas que podíamos encontrar. Resident Evil 2 retoma esa ansiedad de querer administrar bien tu suplemento de batalla y no llegar a la guerra sin los medios suficientes.

    La increíble mejora en las gráficas y la gran cantidad de cuidado en los detalles te hará maravillar, pues debes poner atención hasta en las paredes porque podrías encontrar alguna pista para ese puzzle que creías sin solución. También, el juego cuenta con varios easter eggs y guiños a otros RE, además de menciones a varias sagas a la par icónicas.

    El audio es inmejorable. Es una muy buena recomendación jugar con audífonos puestos, ya que de esta manera sentirás el acecho de los enemigos de una mejor manera, adentrándote en los zapatos de Leon o de Claire. Y a pesar de que ya conozcas la historia, el juego se siente tan nuevo que no importa cuán preparado estés para los eventos, esta emplea de manera correcta, y sin ser predecible, los afamados “jump-scares”.

    Un punto negativo es que el juego está limitado en el aspecto de detección de los enemigos, como los Lickers, que únicamente te detectarán si los tocas, corres o si los atacas. Quizá esto te parezca lógico, pero el juego te permite determinar la velocidad con la que caminas, y lo más lógico sería caminar lento para no ser detectado; esto es inútil, pues, aunque camines a toda velocidad, mientras no pulses el botón de correr, los Lickers no te seguirán. Sin duda fue una oportunidad que no aprovecharon como se debía.

    ¿Vale los 60 dólares?
    Cada título requiere su esfuerzo para producirlo y terminarlo. Resident Evil 2 es un juego que se programó desde cero y cada una de sus características son completamente nuevas. Por esta sola razón puedo decir que sí lo vale, pues no es un simple port. Sin embargo, si eres alguien exigente como yo y requieres un alto replay value, déjame decirte un par de párrafos.

    Para obtener la experiencia completa, tienes que terminar el juego cuatro veces como mínimo. Algunos eventos de este cambiarán si eliges primero a Leon o a Claire, es decir, la historia tendrá ligeros cambios si Claire llega primero a la estación de policía, por lo que Leon ya no interactuará de la misma manera, y viceversa. Esto te tomará un tiempo considerable dependiendo el cómo quieras disfrutarlo, pues además hay muchos skins por desbloquear.

    Resident Evil 2 es, en definitiva, un gran título. Sus excelentes ventas no me dejan mentir y CAPCOM cometería un grave error si no comenzara a desarrollar Resident Evil 3 Remake desde ya (aunado a los múltiples guiños que hay). Tal vez la inclusión de un modo multiplayer lo haría mejor, pero por ahora, disfrutemos de la nostalgia renovada que nos otorga.    … Expand

Далее Клэр — уже лучше, но снова провал, совершенно не похожа на каноничный образ, какой-то совершенно неуместный большой зад и немного колхозная мимика лица. Нет, это не Клэр, но всё таки лучше, чем то отвратительно ужасное воплощение из Revelation 2. Лучшее что было с Клэр, это Resident Evil 2 и Degeneration и кажется на этом Клэр можно смело хоронить, так как попытки Capcom сделать из Клэр жертву в угоду феминистических движений выглядят крайне удручающе. Что касается Ады — как всегда великолепно, да ещё на фоне с местной Клэр, Ада выглядит вдвойне прекрасней. Вообще Ада у Capcom всегда получается совершенно одинаковой внешне (что в случае с её внешностью идет только в плюс). По итогу можно сказать, что игра получилась действительно отличная, не идеальная (идеальных не бывает), но за потрясающе исполненного Леона, готов закрыть глаза на очень короткую продолжительность и в очередной раз провальную Клэр. И думаю успех Resident Evil 2 Remake не оставляет сомнений относительно ремейка третьей части.… Expand

Tank controls and static backdrops are gone, in favour of a more modern third-person over-the-shoulder perspective. This makes combat more intuitive and adds to the immersion.

    Playing in the dark, with headphones or a good sound system helps create some truly tense moments, and the sound design is top notch. Often you can hear enemies before you can see them, sometimes on the floors above you, sometimes right around the corner - ready to strike!
    The audio/visual experience in RE2 is very polished and the game looks stunning, perhaps due to the use of Capcom's proprietary graphics engine, the RE Engine, which was first seen in Resident Evil 7. There were no noticeable drops in frame-rate or other graphical tech issues during my play through; the game ran solidly and smoothly at all times.

    RE2 gives you the option of two different protagonists, Leon or Claire, and depending on who you choose, certain locations and puzzles will be different, but not overtly so. Upon completing the game as one character, you can then play through the second character's campaign. The differences are not huge, but you get to see some more locations and play small sections as sub-characters, which helps flesh out the story.

    Combat is satisfying, with a variety of weapons to brutally dismember zombies and destroy the monsters lurking in the shadows, however it sometimes feels clunky and stilted. I found myself wishing for a button command which allowed me to dodge enemy attacks. Capcom have flirted with the idea of a dodge mechanism in the RE:Revelations spin off titles, to various degrees of success, and it would have made sense to include one in RE2, just to help the combat feel more free-flowing.

    RE2 is not a massive game and each campaign takes between 6-8 hours depending on how thoroughly you explore and which optional puzzles you choose to complete. Capcom have created an experience which is quality over quantity - it's a tight, slick, and well put together game, just don't expect it to be an 80 hour, open world time-sink; it is simply not that type of game, nor does it try to be.

    Overall, RE2 is an utterly fantastic and fun experience, despite some minor concerns. I don't regret paying full retail for it, and I think most Resident Evil fans will eat this up, like a zombie hound chewing on a rotting corpse!    … Expand

    I do think the puzzles were a bit too easy; you'd know where to use it immediatly - the trip there, however, might be the challange of it. But it did keep the pacing at a constant rate, which was good.

    The OTS view is excellent. Any other scheme would most likely break the game/immersion. Tank controls would absolutely have ruined it.

    The game engine is fantastically optimized, running heavy environment details and atmospheric effects at a AAA level at all times in densly populated areas - if you disagree, do learn more about game engines, what "costs" in rendering, and cross-platform pitfalls in general. Go for PC version if you're a GFX whore, or PS4 (base/pro) for still awesome gfx, and the good 'ol controller.

    All in all, the most complete horror game to date - excited for more, and please go for RE3 next! Or any new RE game with the same play-style and atmosphere.    … Expand

Ich muss schnell sein, denn Tyrant ist hinterher - eine Tötungsmaschine, von der ich mich nur losreißen kann, aber nicht zerstören kann. In den engen Räumen der Polizeistation muss schnell und vorsichtig vorgegangen werden - Leon Kennedy wird bald diesen Albtraum verlassen.

    Als Capcom gerade ein Remake von Resident Evil 2 ankündigte, wartete ich auf die Rückkehr der Horrorklassiker und die Gelegenheit, erneut in die Geheimnisse der Polizeistation Racoon City einzutauchen, von jedem Geräusch in den Abwasserkanälen zu zucken und im Labor zu überleben. Einst war das ursprüngliche Spiel mein erster Horror, es gab mir viele Eindrücke, Tausende tote Nervenzellen und setzte die Messlatte für meine Erwartungen an das Genre. Und als mich der Anfang des Remakes von Resident Evil 2 mit einer Welle von Nostalgie überwältigte, stürzte ich tatsächlich in ein neues Spiel.

    Von der Passage des Originals sind nur Emotionen geblieben, einige Plotpunkte finden ihren Weg in die Erinnerung, aber ansonsten ist es fast eine neue Erfahrung. Das Game hat genug zu bieten, um den Spieler vor dem Bildschirm zu halten. Jeder Fund trägt noch etwas weiter mit sich und aktiviert ein neues Glied in der Kette der Ereignisse um die Charaktere herum.

    Ein Remake von Resident Evil 2 hält ständig in Spannung. Die perfekte Spannung, wo das Blut in den Adern kalt läuft. Es ist nicht nur ein ständiges Gefühl, dass jemand Sie gleich angreift, nein. Das Spiel durchdringt ständig ein Gefühl der Angst, zermalmt die Musik oder äußert die Stille.

    Gleichzeitig gibt es genug Rätseln , von denen einige Neuankömmlinge in die Knie gezwungen werden. Ich hatte zum Beispiel Schwierigkeiten mit der Einbeziehung von Elektrizität auf dem Parkplatz, aber in dieser Zeit gelang es mir, die gesamte Fläche zu reinigen und fast alle Türen zu öffnen. Auf der Karte wird dies äußerst bequem angezeigt - wenn alle Elemente im Raum gesammelt wurden und alle Fragen „geschlossen“ sind, werden sie blau und rot markiert.

    RE2 überraschte mich unangenehm mit der Anzahl der Gegner, die aus dem Nichts kamen. Es gab einen Moment, als ich ins Fotolabor ging, nahm ein Foto mit... beim Ausgehen standen vor mir zwei Zombies, die vorher nicht da waren. Das Fenster ist voll mit Holz, der Flur ist leer. WO KOMMEN DIE HER?!Das nervt. Auch Zombies, die mit 10 Kopfschüsse noch immer aufstehen und zur gleichen Zeit reicht ein Schuss für die anderen. Im Ernst? Solche Momente verderben den Eindruck nicht, aber sie sehen extrem seltsam aus.

    Neuer RE2 ist größer geworden. Wenn das Original an einigen Abenden fertig gespielt werden konnte, beträgt die Dauer einer Kampagne nun etwa 15 Stunden. Irgendwann, nach ein paar Stunden Horror Story lief das Spiel ganz ruhig ab und meine Nervenzellen haben begonnen sich wieder aufzubauen. Nix da! Eine ungewöhnliche Zwischensequenz oder ein neues Hindernis für die Hauptfigur lässt einen fast aufspringen. Du kannst ja nicht vorstellen, wie ich durch die Korridore der Polizeistation gerannt bin, als ich zum ersten Mal den Tyrant traf.

    Wenn du das Original nicht gespielt hast, ist es eine großartige Gelegenheit, den Klassiker kennenzulernen. Höchstwahrscheinlich wirst du dich an das Tempo des Spiels, das Format und einige Aktionen gewöhnen müssen. Zum Beispiel passte ich mein Verhalten nur beim vierten Treffen mit einem Zombie an. Für diejenigen, die sich an Resident Evil erinnern und die Überlieferungen des Spiels gut kennen, ist dies ein Grund, zurück zu gehen um die Erinnerungen zu erfrischen.

For a game that requires multiple playthroughs of the same story in a largely linear way, I was surprised just how fantastic and addictive this was. Coupled with the difficulty and having to look at videos, i found this game not just something i sat down mindlessly playing but something I really had to concentrate on. I hadn't played the original so had no nostalgia. This was a new experience for me, one which I thoroughly enjoyed.

    Pros:

    I was genuinely scared when travelling down dark corridors - the zombie placements were really good.
    The sound is fantastic. This adds to the tension.
    If you like going for trophies and following guides, the game will definitely scratch an itch.
    Likewise the puzzles can be a real challenge for anyone looking to solve things independently.
    The A - B storylines work perfectly together.
    Shooting the zombies is really satisfying.

    Cons:

    Playing for extended periods of time got exhausting, especially when going for the speedruns.
    If you are looking to mow down waves of zombies you will be disappointed because more often than not you will run past them not killing them.
    The boss battles can be extremely challenging. On boss took me over an hour, 20-30 attempts to defeat.
    Mr X seems to turn up out of the blue at the most annoying points which I understand is to add to the challenge but created moments of extreme rage.

    Whilst I got extremely frustrated in places, I have to give this game a 9. It loses a point because it won't be a game that I will sink 1000s of hours into and if I think about the amount of content, there isn't a huge amount. What there is however, is an extremely tightly woven and polished game which plays fantastically well.    … Expand

Und mir gefällt auch gut das nich nur, wie zum beispiel bei Ubisoft, die Grafik hoch skaliert wurde sondern die ganze engine geändert wurde. Neue Kameraperspektive und vieles mehr. Das einziege was ich zu bemengeln habe sind die Bosse, bei denen man immer nur auf die Schwachstellen schießen muss. Mein endfazit ist das ich das spiel an Leuten die das Original gespielt und nicht gespielt haben herzlich empfelen kann

The series has always worked best when the Umbrella Corporation is involved. I wasn't a fan of the supernatural Resident Evil 7 approach, nor the first person perspective.

    I started only from RE4 so I was thrilled to see how the second entry of this series will be and I was amazed.
    The RE engine is just amazing and what it can handle, from the start I felt disgusted in a positive way from all the gore and felt immersed from the scary atmosphere.
    Also the item management and Mister X build so much tension that I never felt bored. There is just one thing    I started only from RE4 so I was thrilled to see how the second entry of this series will be and I was amazed.

    There is just one thing the developer could have done better.
    After playing both Leon (first) then Claire, I wished there story lines would tie in more together and would built more on each others actions.

    For example, why I extinguished the fire on the helicopter with Leon and in the second playtrough with Claire as well? I am aware it happened in the original RE2 too, but as the developer mentioned, RE2 is more of a reimagination than a remake, so I think they could have figured another way here.

    Beside of this I enjoyed this game to its fullest and can recommend it, can't wait to play RE3 Remake.    … Expand

As for replay value, theres 4 playthroughs and 1 extra story line. This is one of those games that i recommend people to buy, not rent or borrow, but BUY.     Awesome game. Honestly it was scary and really INTENSE, i even had a nightmare the first night that I played it! Now that says a lot. I would give it a 10 if I wouldn't now this is a remake. Still really worth it.

    Phenomenal. I loved the care and devotion that was put into this effort. This was a devoted effort toward that classic game, and it shows. For once in a long time, I actually am wishing there were DLC for this so that I could continue exploring in the engine that they've created. Expanding upon the lore, would be awesome here...

    Congratulations to Capcom, they made a real resident evil after more than 17 years, I thought the game would be back to action, something like revelations 2, but the gameplay is just like the classic games, just changing the camera that is in the back of the protagonist as in modern games, the tension that there was in the first games is back, 10 out of 10

Unos gráficos maravillosos y que enamoraran a los seguidores de la franquicia. La única pega es que en segundo escenario se repiten los boses cosa que no tiene sentido y no ocurría en el original.     Wenn ich als Jugendlicher die Chance hatte PS zu spielen, dann nur ausgeliehen aus der Videothek oder ggf bei Freunden.Resident Evil musste man damals natürlich gesehen haben. Ich konnte es leider nie lange spielen, weil es einfach zu unheimlich war. Ich bin mir nicht mehr ganz sicher, aber die erste Ingame Cutszene in der ein Glatzköpfiger Zombi an einer Leiche nagt ist mir immer nochWenn ich als Jugendlicher die Chance hatte PS zu spielen, dann nur ausgeliehen aus der Videothek oder ggf bei Freunden.Resident Evil musste man damals natürlich gesehen haben. Ich konnte es leider nie lange spielen, weil es einfach zu unheimlich war. Ich bin mir nicht mehr ganz sicher, aber die erste Ingame Cutszene in der ein Glatzköpfiger Zombi an einer Leiche nagt ist mir immer noch schwer im Magen. Das war 1996 und ich war 16. Heute bin ich 43 und spiele das Remake vom Resident Evil 2. RE2 Classic erschien eigentlich 1998 und spielt nicht im Evil Resident sondern im Evil Racoon City. Die Seuche ist ausgebrochen und die Stadt geht vor die Hunde. Als Leon oder Claire kämpft und rätselt man sich durch 4-5 Gebiete die fast alle in guter alter MetroidVania Tradition miteinander verbunden sind. Backtracking ist also für Progress erforderlich. Das erste was man feststellt ist, dass technisch wirklich viel Arbeit und Geld das Spiel gesteckt wurde. Mein Gott sieht das gut aus. Tolle Licht und vor allem zur Stimmung beitragende Schatteneffekte. Feuchte Oberflächen glitzern wunderschön und Schleim und Blut (was bei diesem Spiel durchaus wichtig ist) sieht wunderbar ekelhaft aus. Generell sind die Goreeffekte sehr gut. Animation von Zombies und anderem NPCs sind gelungen. Die Optik ist also ausnahmslos wirklich toll umgesetzt. Was aber im Soundbereich geleistet wurde ist wirklich fantastisch. Es ist so bedrückend wenn man das Schlurfen und stöhnen eine Zombies hört, ihn aber nicht sieht. Alle Gegnersounds sind irgendwie auf diese Art und Weise verstöhrend bis unheimlich.Man ist ständig von Angst geprägt und nervös. Das absichtlich sehr träge Zielsystem und der weniger agile Character tragen noch dazu bei. Ständig lugt man vorsichtig um Ecken und prüft ob Leichen am Boden nicht evtl. doch wieder aufstehen könnten. Angst und vor allem Panik machen sich vor allem dann breit, wenn der Munitionsvorrat zur neige geht. Und das wird immer wieder unweigerlich passieren, denn Munition selten. Die Story kennt man und ich will nicht näher drauf eingehen. Es sei erwähnt, dass es eben RE ist und man da keine Wunder erwarten sollte. Weder in der Art wie erzählt wird, noch in der Ausarbeitung der Protagonisten. Allenfalls 90er Jahre Acitonniveau darf erwartet werden. Dennoch hat es mich unterhalten und ich wollte bis zum Schluss wissen was als nächstes passiert. Deswegen habe ich mich überzeugen lassen, dass Spiel nochmal durchzuspielen, Vor allem auch, weil ein zweiter Durchgang tatsächlich in abgewandelter Form vom Spiel angeboten wird. Soll heißen die Story und RE typischen Rätsel sind leicht abgewandelt. Man kommt in Gebiete die im ersten Durchgang nicht erreichbar waren. Das ist zumindest nett. RE2 Remake hat mir wirklich großen Spaß gemacht. Ich kann es wirklich empfehlen. Ein seht gutes Remake.… Expand

    Thank you for making this so much. It was. Ton of fun to play.....the only reason I took a point off was because I found the DLC to be lack luster. I don’t want a bunch of time trials, I want stories to enjoy at my own pace.

    Resident Evil 2 is a wonderful recreation of a believed original that, not only recaptures the glory of that game, but also improves upon it from a visual and gameplay standpoint. All in all, don’t miss out on this one.
