An heir to the ultraviolence of Hotline Miami really deep, funny and replayable.

A brilliant top down brawler, Redeemer Enhanced Edition is sure to please every fan of over the top violence and gore with satisfying gameplay to boot.

With its active character development and the local co-op play the Enhanced Edition of Redeemer is slightly better than the visceral barebone brawler in its original form.

Redeemer: Enhanced Edition's an enjoyable effort with an admittedly short tail. Combat feels weighty with plenty of opportunities at hand. There's a swift pacing to proceedings and, whilst the waves of enemies can feel relentless, the encounters have a variety that keeps it from growing cold. It's a pity there isn't much after the credits roll and the environments devolve into industrial hallways. Still, it's worth a look.

The general idea behind Redeemer is solid, however its realization could have been better. Too bad for some the sparse technical issues.

Redeemer is a game that doesn’t do anything new, but it’s fun to play if you’re looking for something simple and straightforward.

Redeemer's combat is world class; revealing itself to be both hugely satisfying and wonderfully tactile. It's just a shame that there isn't enough game built around it and that the game which is there, appears so very unambitious. Nonetheless, Redeemer is more than capable of providing a barrage of violent thrills for a good few hours all the same.

Despite my complaints, Redeemer has me excited to see future work from this studio. The systems here are a great platform to expand upon in a sequel, and at its core, the experience does offer great gameplay — it’s just not enough to carry the entire experience.

I'd love to be able to recommended Redeemer: Enhanced Edition to you. Its top-down shoot and beat 'em up combat is tremendous fun, and the local drop-in and out co-op mode is treat, but there's way too many game breaking bugs and glitches that hold up any recommendation. If these issues are fixed with a patch then feel free to add a few points to the score, otherwise you're best off looking for your gory thrills and spills elsewhere.

Good, fast, top down shooter. With finishing moves lots of gore and blood. Like it's multiplayer coop.

Incredibly visceral and satisfying combat. Great pace and balanced challenge with a perks and leveling system that keep you engaged. It the type of game that you feel a clumsy in the beginning ,but as you progress and learn all the tricks and move becomes a ballet of bullets kicks, punches and parries.
It also the type of game that modern games journalist would personally decide to take issue with as it very masculine and take a lot of ques from old school 80s action films in its characters and story. Even though everything is great they will complain because of their obscure political beliefs.
Definitely a game that should not be passed on, will be a hidden gem. Ive been playing top down beaters and shooter since the 70s and this game is one of the best, as it should be for is time.

Personally I think this game has a huge potential as a fun arcade slasher but it suffers under repetitiveness, frame drops and bluescreens in arena mode. The game itself is fun, the story is not very deep and it is basically a button masher with different combat styles and weapons to use. The story will take you straight around 4-5hrs. Additional content might take another 1-3hrs and thats about it.

So if you like some arcade action bashing with some decent amount of gore and cool finisher moves this will be really enjoyable but dont expect too much and get it on a decent sale otherwise the package is not worth it.
