    This game is really fun, the predator mechanics aren’t to hard to master, the military operations are cool, and the loot boxes are easy to earn and don’t require money, I get one every game. Though I do have one complaint, I wish that they would fix the frame rate, as it tends to lower when shooting at enemies. But I’m sure they’ll fix it in a future update. This time based on 20th Century Studios' Predator franchise. It sees a squad of soldiers go head-to-head with one of sci-fi's most iconic creations and the results are surprisingly pretty great.

    As a member of the "Fireteam" you and up to three other people are tasked with completing objectives across a lush jungle environment before exfiltrating on "the choppa" preferably with everyone intact. A task made more difficult by the AI assailants scattered across the map that, while generally not very intelligent, are still perceptive enough to draw you into a firefight that can attract the attention of the real threat to your success. This side of things plays like your traditional military FPS. You customize a loadout complete with perks and weapon attachments while using an instantly recognizable control scheme that will be familiar to anyone who's played a shooter since the 360/PS3 era. As a result, it's very accessible and the only thing you'll really have to learn is how to disable alarms and coat yourself in mud to avoid getting detected.

    Meanwhile as the titular alien villain your job is to track down and eliminate the other players before they can escape. I've heard people say this half of the game is unbalanced, as in an atypical move for the genre the person doing the hunting is at a disadvantage. One-on-one your opponents will offer little resistance, but if the group is sticking together they can gun you down in seconds. It sounds brutal and unfair, but while I myself have yet to pick up a win as the Predator I've had quite a few matches where my team and I were the victims of a one-sided beatdown. You simply have to take a tactical approach and make intelligent usage of the advanced technology at your disposal to chip away at the Fireteam. You know, kind of like how the creature did in the actual movie? Honestly, I think people are just complaining because they're upset they can't run through everyone as a nigh-invincible killing machine like they could as Jason Voorhees.

    I was shocked to find that many of the issues I typically have with these types of games weren't that much of a factor here. The setup seems to encourage positive cooperation so I haven't had any issues with other people mucking about or being a jerk, and an Apex Legends-esque ping system allows you communicate information with your companions without ever having to utter a word. The amount of actual content will still be questionable for some, but personally the light elements of random generation have kept things from getting stale for me after countless matches now despite some key areas having the same objectives every time. It's even the first asymmetrical title I've seen that offers another mode, although it isn't much to write home about. "Clash" sees two Fireteams duking it out over rotating capture points. It basically plays out like a poor man's Hardpoint from Call of Duty where someone occasionally gets to be the Predator. Microtransactions are also not a nuisance as the cosmetics can be attained through generously doled out loot boxes or by purchasing them individually with "Veritanium" which can be found scattered across the maps. All is not perfect as, while gorgeous at first glance, looking too closely will reveal plastic textures and there are some infrequent matchmaking woes, but this is head and shoulders above the majority of its competition regardless.

    The real appeal though may just be its faithfulness to the source material. Authentic sound effects and visuals help it to recapture the feeling of that original film. I hope the devs continue to update this the way they did their previous title with content from the other movies because there is plenty of room to grow. Yet, in its current state it is nonetheless addictive and when it comes to this particular style of multiplayer is second only to the mighty Among Us.    … Expand

    Really fun when playing with 4 other friends! Can lead to intense battles when waiting for extraction. It's still fun playing with random people but it doesn't match playing with friends. It has some cool customisation items, but feel there could have been some more interesting and exotic looking ones. But I'm sure in the near future with more content updates we will see more.

If it was a f2p game with some cosmetics and xp boosters i would score this game for 8 even 9 but its not! i pay for this crap 45 euros ! After five rounds of this you get everything literaly everything !!!! About 2 hours and then you do the same again an again !!! Just one mode game for 45 euros....     I had a great time with this game. I got it for free with of plus and if they made a squeal I’d probably buy it. I’ve played this game for 3 weeks and only got a little bored at times. It is a bit empty though with not enough guns or free class types. The system of you can only unlock certain things though leveling up is also a small bit annoying. No PC to PS4 party creation so cross-play is strangers only. Hit level 100 in two days without double XP now what, no prestige options or end game content. Spoiler you unlock 5 outfits or 4 if you ordered Deluxe.

    Sad to say really poor rushed out game with same problems as trial.

    Matchmaking is a joke, all good saying we will look into it but it’s the same as trial so what are they actually doing??

    If you can get over the bad graphics, terrible frame rate there is a good game hiding away, but in 2020 there is no excuse for something so bad looking to perform like this.

    Also sadly because of the massive lack of content the game is likely to die before it gets the chance to get better. Seriously 2 days of play to unlock everything apart from colours on skins.

    This game is bad, personally I was under the impression that it was going to be an open world game similar to a FarCry. But this game is just like the failure Evolve, which scored a 5.1 and 4.3. The controls are not there and feel like the predator is on auto pilot part of the time. Then your waiting for people to join a game, on launch day after 3mins I went to a private game. Gameplay as a soldier is boring, because the Ai is bad and most Predator dont know how to play him effectiv. Playing the Predator is nice and funny.     This is very fun game, everything feels like ur are in the movie, hunting down the Predator or Predator chasing marines/soldiers. Very nice concept. Everyone should buy this game.

In addition to inept and horribly outdated visuals, this game dares to not only run at 30 frames but dip below it and reach 20 frames multiple times during every match.     You complete some routine tasks (meaning holding the square button down and running from A to B) to win and that's it.
    The predator isn't even scary, it plays a very different game from yours making its appearance in a match just a slight    Predator Hunting Grounds is bad idea. It hardly works on paper and the developers knew it well. Yet they still released this game and it's a boring mess.
    You complete some routine tasks (meaning holding the square button down and running from A to B) to win and that's it.
    The predator isn't even scary, it plays a very different game from yours making its appearance in a match just a slight annoyance.
    Having an AI in a multiplayer game is pretty dumb especially if the AI itself is dumb (which it is, if not the dumbest).
    The game is still in a sorry state a year past its release and softlocks woefully often.
    Overall Predator HG is somehow even worse than Friday the 13th the game only the controls are slightly improved but the atmosphere is absent.
    And lastly, it's another šitty game to the PS Plus collection. Sony must be real happy that this game bears a name of a famous franchise which is their only excuse to put this on PS+.

    Right the matchmaking time is horrible. I waited for like 20 mins to play the Predator. And till now I didn't get to play the predator.
    Its impossible to get a match with the Predator.
    They could have done something different like offline matches with AI. I knew this would happy cos almost half civilization wants to use the predator. No surprises there.

    Unplayable and clunky piece of garbage. Matchmaking takes A LOT of time and if you are lucky to find a game, then you're going to suffer. Shooting is bad, the game is buggy & the predator is underpowered.

    The only decent thing is graphics. Which is kinda ok-ish.

    I wish I could refund this.

    Amazingly fun game, played several matches already, up to level 10. Predator scares the CRAP out of me when he comes after me, I run as fast as I can. The trophy collecting animation after he kills you is AWESOME! Will be playing this game for a while!

    Das beste Pradator Spiel bis Dato. Aber die Wartezeiten sind lange und die Spielrunden kurz. Für 40€ ein gutes Spiel aber es braucht noch Feinschliff.
    The best Pradator game to date. But the waiting times are long and the game rounds short. For 40€ a good game but it still needs fine-tuning.

    Game is really a 7 but I wanna balance out the haters. I'm a huge predator fan as I grew up on the original two films. And if you love those movies this is the best game to make you feel like your playing those movies. Games framerate will crap out when it's chaotic but it's very fun and has a good progression system.

Although that sucks, when you're on a good team that actually wants to play the game as intended and back each other up, it can be a lot of fun. It's too bad the content is lacking and there are constantly idiots that are on your team and have no idea what team work means,, if that weren't the case I would rated this much, much higher! Really sad that a good game get a 3 because it's player base sucks, but, thats how I grade, sorry game. Great concept for a game, I also enjoyed the assymetrical genre. The Predator game play is a stupid amount of fun. You do feel like a Predator if you do it right. I am a bad Predator most of the time. I constantly got seen and would be happy to kill just one player. Now I said most of the time. The few times I was on my game it was the greatest experience of the entire game. The thing is $40 for essentially one game mode with no story mode to speak of is very steep. On top of the lack of replay value the game also doesn't look that great. I could compare it to a late in life PS3 game then a current gen console game. I just wish there was more to this. I want more Predator and unfortunately this game drops the ball.     This game has a lot of promise. But the AI is laughable..... like Goldeneye 007 bad... like stand in one spot while an alarm is going off and they will just keep running into the doorway bad. I could see a massive patch in a few months then this game being good.

    1) Very slow climbing, running and jumping speeds on trees, even taking into account the choice of the desired class and perks. The predator, in theory, should very quickly overtake the Detachment, play with them like a cat with mice. But in reality they barely catch up when they sprint in the sprints for the next quest.
    2) To further reduce the noise of stamping, grunting, sounds of Predator devices. The predator, again, in theory, should terrorize the squad. But in the current build, the top strategy is Berserk YOLO 1x4.
    3) Weak traps (network, trap, etc., etc.).
    4) A long matchmaking search for the Predator.

    Solutions:
    - 1) Increase the mobility of the Predator in the trees (including reducing the stamina consumption for jumping, running, but not for blows).
    - 2) Decrease the volume of all moves and devices of the Predator.
    - 2) Add to the Predator the possibility of stealth from the back to kill the Squad (just like he kills bots).
    - 3) Increase difficulty / time in order to get out of the traps. Increase trap damage.
    - 4) Motivate Players more often / play more for the Squad. For example, add a multiplier to the experience when playing for the Squad.

    In general, I am my vision of the game so that the matches were a little longer, exhausting and more horror for the Squad. To make it hard for a squad to win. And so that the Predator for victory would act more elegantly, and not stupidly burst in like John Cena 1x4 for the first three minutes.

    Don't buy if you intend to play with friends cross platform it does not work and this is after the patch 1.3. The game feels like someone is constantly shining a flashlight in your eyes or looking directly into the sun, the graphics even with anti-aliasing quality maxed out feels like the trees come from minecraft and the over all UI is just bad.

    Graphics could use work BUT the game play is so scary as a human, especially when you are the last person alive. Plus who doesn't want to play as predator? For 40 dollars, you get a very solid multiplayer game.

Do things maybe need more patches? Yes. But it’s still fun especially if you enjoy Friday the 13th and dead by daylight like I did.     New to site. If you grew up in time the movie was in theaters or loved cult following, you will totally enjoy game. To me it is like living best part of old school movie. Graphics alittle dated but the rush of not knowing when The Predator is,is amazing. Solid 8 for me.

    I think it’s a great game. It’s a been rough as of now, but it has really high potential and I’ve been playing it for hours and hours in end. Really enjoy it. Once they fix some problems like UI changes and such, I may give it a higher rating, but I enjoy it a lot. And not to mention, there’s a lot of content customization wise.     This game is pretty poor, I bought it due to it looking decent in youtube videos (but that was viewing on a very small screen), but playing on a big screen you will notice the graphics are genuinely like something from the ps3 era, so are the gameplay mechanics. I get an headache playing it and my eyes hurt. this is not a good experience. ive played shooters on mobile that are more "modern"

    So objective base mode, youre just running to a spt, holding down square, go to the next spot, kill some enemy ai, and eventually escape.. get extracted while the predator attempts to stop this… bored after just one play session.. in the 4 v 4 mode here youre team will all try and take over a capture point, and every once in a while youll get the option to become the predator, climbing trees, going invisible, hopping through branches, slicing enemies up.. I loved this, I loved how over powered and fun it feels to be in the driver seat of the predator, and this mode is the mode you will get to feel this power more frequently..
    sadly though predator hunting grounds just got dull pretty qickly for me… the gunplay isn’t satisfying enough, and modes aren’t varied enough for me excited for the next match, its all the same…
    Predator hunting grounds is a fun little first person shooter for a weekend, and there are even different versions of the predator with new weapons to unlock.. but sadly the content is lacking to keep you hooked long enough to even care to unlock more predator variations..
    Get your fun in, its currently free for playstation plus, but I don’t expect many to be sticking around beyond this month…

Mechanically, this game has launched with a far greater degree of polish than Illfonic's previous outing, Friday the 13th, and the game doesLet's preface this by saying the game is enjoyable, and I myself have been fortunate enough to not experience the same matchmaking issues as everybody else - 5-10 minutes finding a match as Predator, sure, but never a wait over 30 seconds as fireteam. Mechanically, this game has launched with a far greater degree of polish than Illfonic's previous outing, Friday the 13th, and the game does capture the spirit of Predator. In a pleasant surprise, there are no microtransactions at launch, and progression is honestly quick: it's easy to gain about a level every match for at least the first twenty levels. Plus, the game is safeguarded against DCs in the simplest possible way: its inclusion of AI enemies means that as long as SOMEBODY is still in the game, the game can still progress. Granted, it progresses with the lack of difficulty of having to hunt or be hunted by a PvP player, but nevertheless, you never have to feel screwed by a DC, purposeful or otherwise. And the bugs, while present and honestly a bit prevalent, are actually far less insurmountable than most games in the 4v1 asymmetrical subgenre. Compared to the other new asymmetrical licensed outing released right now (RE: Resistance), the game's netcode and optimization are actually solid.

    So where it the issue? Simple: content. It doesn't break the game across its knee completely to be so lacking in content, but three maps with one overarching 'island' layout theme does get old kind of quickly, and even the addition of multiple possible missions per map doesn't stretch it out tremendously, as it's all some variant of 'capture point, defend point, repeat', with an occasional hunt for resources or side missions for extra money. The gameplay loop isn't a problem if you're absolutely in love with the Predator franchise as I am, but even loving the series like I do, it feels like an 8/10 to me, and having to step back and look at it from a different framing, I'd have a hard time pushing this over a 6 or a 7 to most gamers.

    In short, 'fun, but flawed'. I'm enjoying it thoroughly due to my love of both asymmetrical multiplayer and Predator, but hopefully the game can expand its content over time to be able to appeal to more than just the dedicated niche demographic.    … Expand

    The predator themselves can barely carry this game as they have a lot of interesting mechanics but... its a buggy mess as you will hop around get stuck and be unable to climb certain trees but much worse finding and being able to deal with the fireteam members can really strip away the enjoyment of this game and I feel this game needs to put a few patches out and really upgrade itself but as it stands now this isn't worth a buy its worth a rent from a local redbox or a purchase from a local bargain bin.    … Expand

    At first it was fun I won some and lost some but I got better so I was on a winning streak with predator. I stopped at level 27 because I've got destroyed by the same team twice and they did nothing but tracked me and hunt me down and I had no power to get away, I thought I was the hunter but I became the hunted.

It can be hard sometimes to play the Predator because you have to get level ups to get better gear and you have to be Patient to kill the Fire team.     Just a ton of fun either playing as Predator and FT. First day may have had some slower times, but that's fixed and people keep getting better and playing the game on both sides. Matches are getting intense, and always different! Even if you're not a fan of the movies this is recommended for hours of fun

    I haven't had a chance to play as the Predator yet, but given the results of the matches I've played over the last 24hrs, it appears pretty well balanced. Hopefully the player-base stays solid.

When I got this thing called a "Field Locker" I was like ok what is this and since I got after leveling up I though it was increased storage for stuff I have unlocked kinda like Minecraft of PUBG too an extent but no it was some stupid ass lootboxes why do game companies rely on stupid business practices but the good thing is it is ONLY cosmetic and you can buy them with in game currency and you earn in game without buying with real world money which is good but get rid of these ok. They should do something like COD with milestones. The predator itself is awesome to see as a Fireteam player, but when being attacked your guns do literally nothing to it. You should get 3 custom class options instead of one, the leveling in this game for unlocks is absurd. Level 100 just for a classic vest like I'm going to be playing this game for that long. Leveling doesn't feel bad but the predator only really gets access to their tools at the higher levels and until then your only hope is your dealing with an inexperienced team, you have your cannon but its a dead giveaway that sees you riddled with bullet holes and seems to do pitiful damage short of being right on top of your target and successfully hitting them, which is hard given that everyone sprints like sonic half the time, no one really sits still to let you shoot at them and that's to be expected.

    On the fire team side their is very little choice in what guns you bring into the match gear can be limiting and the perks are alright albeit the only real expression of a choice it feels like. You choose your spawn location but once you figure out what map your playing you really don't choose anything but the closest one. The missions are forgettable and the AI is barely a threat unless the predator drops in while your dealing with them allows the AI to stack up a bit but even then they aren't going to put a dent in your health bar by any important means. I would be surprised if a player lost more than 40 hp to the AI in a round as the predator feels like the only real threat to the players, The AI is also very simplistic in its design, probably no more than 3-4 variations in total running 1-2 gun options and doing little more than pointing said gun at the player and shooting, which just feels bad. Enemies also loudly call out that they are going to hit the alarm with a little icon appearing over their head which immediately draws the entire groups fire for saying such a thing. Even having the alarm pulled is more of a minor inconvenience than a threat and rarely happens after the players shoot the initial 4 guards at an objective and disable all of them. Stuttering frames even when on the lowest of settings and overall running conditions feel kinda bad, aiming is alright but can be tedious and sometimes a little annoying. On the lowest settings everything feels like very sterile game engine conditions and it loses a lot of atmosphere in doing so but at the trade off that you can actually aim and process whats going on around you. Sound design is nice. Overall the fire team plays like a squad shooter where you really don't care what your doing and you aren't doing it for long before you sprint through the jungle to the next location very forgettable not very exciting.

    As the predator it feels more like your desperately trying to pick people off than actually hunting them with any sort of skill, everyone is watching the tree line and short of using the Bow you will be spotted trying to assault the group from range. All the noise you make signals to the team that you are around and completely blows any sort of element of stealth, it's more a question of how long it takes for them to spot you. The net gun, the combistick, and the bow are common place to be used by the predator as all other options pale in comparison to usefulness. Gear is underwhelming (cant even fill the 15 points you get as the berserker class) and while neat using them is a pain since aiming is more of a toss out and hope than actual aim. If your against players that remotely know what their doing it's a hassle more than anything to actually pick anyone off and you can't really "hunt." This isn't hunting this is a desperate attempt at weakening the players to find something to capitalize on than waiting for a moment to strike and feels like a constant game of catch up and try to be threatening than anything else.

    in short but certainly not all of it. the game has potential but its more nostalgia bait for fans of the alien franchise (Which a lot of their games sadly are) than a full game experience, it's game mode you would play on occasion or a mod for another game, but most certainly not a full game. From every sense of the design it feels rushed and half baked and that isn't necessarily the fault of the people that I'm positive worked very hard to make. As a trip down memory lane its a nice bit of game play and can certainly be fun but in it current iteration it's only going to last as long as it has its fan base, and after that has started to dwindle it will slide into obscurity rather quickly. It's only been out around a month or so of writing this but at its core, for what it offers at the moment, its going to need a lot more polish and commitment before it becomes anything worth calling a full game.    … Expand

    This has the potential to be one of my favorite games of all time. There are some issues as far as content goes but even with what's here the gameplay loop is incredibly satisfying. I made an account just to review this game. It could really use a few more maps, more cosmetics, and more weapons but there is enough.     The game deserves more than it's being rated by most reviewers. It does have numerous flaws, one being load in times for games and the others being numerous in game glitches. I have had a lot of fun playing this game and it really does shine in the fun deparment. It can be thrilling at various moment's, taking us back to the atmosphere of the original film.     I really like the game it's pretty fun but just an idea it would be awesome if the game had other maps like one in the dark or in a snowy area or heavy rain that would be pretty cool. Also I think the predators should had different types of heads they did in the movie why not the game but all an all its a really great game aside the hacks

    One of the best video games I've ever played. This game will always keep you on your toes when playing both predator and fireteam. As a personal Predator fan I really enjoy all the references to the movies. I also like how predator isn't invincible he can be easily killed by fireteam if your not careful.     About the in-game content, there are    Predator: Hunting Grounds is a multiplayer only game, in which you have only 2 game modes, Hunt (the Fireteam members have an objective to complete while the predator hunts them down, both predator and fireteam members controlled by the player) and Clash (2 teams fighting, practically playing conquest while 1 of your team members can be the predator).
    About the in-game content, there are not many weapons neither weapon customisation, but there are many different gears and perks available for the fireteam, the predator has even more customisation options. The predator has many appearance options available and many different weapons and gear to choose, which adds the player the possibility on how and when to attack its prey.
    The game isn't that easy as you might be thinking, the predator has to decide when the fireteam members are the least prepared for his attack, while the fireteam has to always keep their eyes wide open because not only they have to finish the mission in a 15 min time limit, but they have to be aware that the predator is probably looking for them. The mission aren't that repetitive, I mean, yes, they are the same after some time, but still there are so many different missions, after some time you forgot the same mission you've done 30 games before (for now only 3 maps available).
    In the gameplay there are many details which are taken from the film, but within this review I won't mention them, it is up to you to find them out.
    The only two things that aren't made as good as others is the AI soldiers, inaccurate, running around without any tactical movement, glitchy sometimes, all in all, rubbish. The second thing are the graphics which for a 2020 game could have been much better, it's okay, but still, could have been more detailed.

    All in all, a great game, okay, some things like the AI needs to be improved, but without that, the game is enjoyable enough to make you play it for hours and hours.    … Expand

    - Repetative

    - Ugly

    - Horrible performance

    - Excruciatingly long matchmaking times

    Unless you're a die-hard Predator fan, stay FAR away.

    Predator Hunting Grounds isn’t the horrible mess that some people make it out to be. Yeah, it has some balance problems, but even so, I think it’s very underrated! I definitely think it’s worth your time if you enjoy the first 2 movies.

I definitely think it’s worth your time if you enjoy the first 2 movies.

    I think it’s important to be aware of a couple of things going in though:

    #1 It isn’t a triple AAA game, so it is a little rough around the edges. The game is in a pretty good place now after a few updates but there are still some bugs and things that need ironing out

    Predator: Hunting Grounds is difficult to advise even the most loyal fans of the franchise. The game is not worth your time, even if it will be distributed on a PS Plus subscription or sold at a huge discount. It is almost impossible to get pleasure here. Terrible graphics, unbalanced gameplay, poorly developed mechanics and broken matchmaking leave only a deep sense of frustration.
