GW2 offers an alternative, lighthearted take on a genre that can often feel po-faced. [May 2016, p.118]

Garden Warfare 2 offers a huge expansion to the garden from the first game. The open world is a good alternative to menus. The new characters make the multiplayer battle a lot more fun. It is too bad it takes a while to unlock things and that not all gameplay is well-balanced.

When it comes to character diversity, Garden Warfare 2 outclasses other shooters in every way.

Love the ability to play splitscreen on the couch with friends, and being able to play any mode with or against any set up of AI was a huge plus for me. Characters are wacky, maps are gorgeous whats not to love! Full Review »

For the past several years I've been completing games for the story, or some other reason. Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is, in my opinion, perhaps the best PS4 game to date.
The card packs are by far the most addicting thing in the game. Collecting coins to open them and see what character you get to play as is thrilling.
Looking forward to the weekend to sink deeper into this gem.

Technically the game didn't evolve much and what was okay in 2014 is under the average of 2016 game, the loading times are a bit long but at least there is no disconnection problems or any major issue for that matter.

Gameplay wise the multiplayer is still one of the best in this generation with 6 new classes that won't break the balance of the battlefield and are as fun as the originals. But one of the big selling point of this sequel was also the addition of a solo campaign, and that point was a let down, yes you can play in solo but it's the same maps than the multiplayer and there is absolutely no effort in the level design of these "solo ops", there's no story neither, it could (and should) have been must better, there's still room for improvement in that domain.

In conclusion Garden Warfare is still a very fun game that I would advise it to anyone looking for a nice multiplayer experience but don't get fooled by the marketing and don't buy the game for the solo mode.
