    Plants vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville is a game that I wanted to like but I just didn't. In fact, I just deleted it off my PS4 this past Saturday. This game doesn't know if it wants to be Overwatch or a Garden Warfare successor. While GW1 and GW2 were very fun to play, playing BFN feels like a chore because the game is awfully unbalanced; some characters suck while others are tooPlants vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville is a game that I wanted to like but I just didn't. In fact, I just deleted it off my PS4 this past Saturday. This game doesn't know if it wants to be Overwatch or a Garden Warfare successor. While GW1 and GW2 were very fun to play, playing BFN feels like a chore because the game is awfully unbalanced; some characters suck while others are too overpowered. For example, the Scientist can absolutely destroy an entire team while the 80s Action Hero is useless. Also, the maps in this game are disjointed without any proper flow, and, worst of all, this game removed the beloved character variants in favor of an upgrade system. The flaws with this game do not end with the multiplayer as the single-player portion is pointless, mind-numbingly boring fetch quests. I completed the mission where I was tasked with defeated Baron von Batz and then I just decided to quit. The only saving graces of this game is that it has a sprint button, allowing you to get back into the game quicker, and the hub world is nice and fun to explore. However, this doesn't save BFN from its unbalanced multiplayer, flawed story mode and overall lack of significant Garden Warfare features. If you want to have a better time, I'd recommend playing GW2 instead. Plants vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville was nothing but a massive disappointment.… Expand

    This game would be great if there wasn't such horrible optimization on PC, the consoles versions seem to work fine in this department. If you're thinking my internet is just busted I checked online and other programs like steam and they seemed to be working fine giving me around 35-45 MBs. The FPS on this game is horrible don't get me wrong I can get over 144 FPS on this game is just very hard to get above that this game is very demanding even with low settings also random FPS drops. There is also a lot of limitations in the settings at least of PC like the game can only cap the FPS at 30 and 60, I've never seen anybody play at a 30 FPS cap don't even know why that's there. The game itself is very fun I have to admit but the optimzation is what ruins it aswell as the origin app.… Expand

    pvz battle for neighbor is bad the frockin mushroom is so broken and pvp is not fun some all of the team vanquish maps are too big so u will have to play hide and seek to find enemies and the scientist is just terrible to play as and the maps are just so bland i wish they couldve done something better :(

    This game is one of the most frustrating messes I have ever played multiplayer has many mechanics which ruin it for me such as overhealing and sprinting and the lag on movement abilities is disgusting also it is awfully unbalanced as characters like nightcap , scientist and super brains can destroy an entire team meanwhile characters such as chomper and 80’s action hero struggle to evenThis game is one of the most frustrating messes I have ever played multiplayer has many mechanics which ruin it for me such as overhealing and sprinting and the lag on movement abilities is disgusting also it is awfully unbalanced as characters like nightcap , scientist and super brains can destroy an entire team meanwhile characters such as chomper and 80’s action hero struggle to even survive with time to kill in this game being the longest ever healers such as sunflower make a character practically invincible and the exp needed to level up a character is to much at the later levels and when you have an achievement to max out the level of every character this becomes a serious issue I have a 54 hour play time and I haven’t even maxed out one also with events and a (free) battle pass you can get items with prize bulbs but according to the player base even an extremely good player getting an average of 20 kills per game and completing every challenge available ( you are given daily challenges and character specific challenges to get extra prize bulbs) it would take 2 days worth of play time to complete the battle pass which is utterly insane they have also removed beloved features such as variants which added a much needed freshness and extra playability to the game for new characters instead and we have gotten no information about a new character yet. The only time I had fun playing this game was with the Pve areas which have been perfected since the last game . The saddest part about this game is that under all of this mess lies a good and fun game and I hope that in the future pop cap can improve upon this game and make it one of the greats along pvz:gw and pvz:gw2… Expand

    O jogo tem alguns pontos ótimos em relação aos anteriores como os mundos abertos e atualizações no mundo. Porém, o gameplay é muito mal feito, mapas "meh" e bugs constantes. Da a sensação que o jogo foi totalmente rushado.
    No geral, um jogo mediano que não diverte como os outros Plants vs Zombies

    Really enjoying this game, it plays great and looks fantastic, probably one of the best looking games this generation (PS4 Pro here), we are having lots of fun in co-op beating the bosses and multiplayer modes. This one kind of feels more polished than the past GW games. Launch price was good too.

    The game is great overall, and yes the community seems harsh on their end, probably cause it’s an EA game, however most people complaints on balancing is a bit inferior since the next update drops in a week with some balance, unfortunately it seems like the community just doesn’t have the patience :/

    Every time i come back to play this i get bored after an hour. because the maps are garbage it feels like the plants team has the advantage. it also has a ton of bad mechanics that make me dislike it even more

    Easily the best game in the series. PVE is such a leap from the previous games with epic bosses and hilarious quests. The new characters are great additions especially the combiner characters (acorn and space cadet). Battle Arena rocks and scratches that competitive itch.

    I hope they add new characters or variants down the road

    I've been playing since the founders edition was available and I absolutely love it. Its quirky PvZ. It has fun PVE areas and lots to do with some really fun boss battles. It also has a coop mode for wave survival. The PVP is just a blast with tons of different modes. It's a very humorous and bright game and all in all is just a blast to play. My biggest issue is I hope they can figureI've been playing since the founders edition was available and I absolutely love it. Its quirky PvZ.     Graphics are great, however graphics don’t mean good gameplay.

    Game is fun, my kids and I are having a great time playing. Graphics are top notch and you don't have to have a beast of a computer to run it and get a good frame rate. Not sure why the score is so low because it really is a great game.

    Very good game! I believe that this game will improove after every update to come. I have high hopes for this game and it is refreshing seeing a new PvZ Shooter. The last one was GW2 that launched back in 2016. This one is much more colourful, much less confusing and a lot more fun. The story mode is greatly improoved. And the game in general feels like an every day game to play in myVery good game! I believe that this game will improove after every update to come.     This game is by far the best of the PvZ 3rd person shooters I have played. Build variety is better, progression is easier to understand, the starting lobby is a fantastic and dynamic area and the game modes are the same fun and wacky adventures that we're used to. I'm not usually someone who jumps into games early or buy on launch but this is a purchase I don't think I will ever regret.

    The game is poorly executed even though a great single player mode. The multi-play mode have a lot of bugs, hit detection, ability failure. Not to mention that the game reused all the sound, music from the old game. I also don't like the healer become irrelevant in the game.     It is full of bad times, there is too much handicap, it is perceived too much, being a regular player you will only have good matchs if the game wants it, to the degree of feeling that you are not the one who is playing, in the PvP rooms there are many bots, which detect you in the most absurd way.

    Why am I still in this game? I do not like how they set up the consumables, quests, and other stuff. Boring and the time played is padded out intentionally.

I legit had a bad time playing this game; The people on the game have very inappropriate names as well, which I do not want my son seeing, but they have not enabled an option that lets you filter out bad words, I took a few turns on playing the game too but I was getting instakilled for no reason.

    This was supposed to be a good game??? Hahahahahahahaha! I am the biggest ego have-er in the history of ego have-ers! This game disappoints me so horribly in a way that it is imbalanced just like the universe. The map design is garbage. The character design sucks. The fighting sucks. The aiming sucks. It also does not have Electro Pea.

    No se que hicieron, pvz 1 y 2 eran geniales, la sensación de juego es pésima, no hay control, mapas muy pequeños y cerrados con demasiados jugadores a la vez, no se entiende la acción en el juego, quien dispara, ni nada.

I'm assuming it's to stop afk people from leeching xp, but, if your dog or kid pukes somewhere and you need to clean it up asap expect to come back to a locked controller or blue screen of death.     AI is a bit too good as it can see you even if you're hiding from other players. The majority of my deaths are from AI killing me across the map or turning around because they know I'm there as I flank the enemy team.

    There's a lot of event and NONE of them share the same timer. some of them work on a 24 hour system where if you beat it you need to wait 24 hours from that point. It's not a daily refresh time you can look forward to. There's 3 or 4 OTHER things going on that have their own separate daily or weekly or monthly timers and NONE of them match up. It's a headache just to try to play the game for the events they have. Fire whoever made them and get someone who has played an online game before please.

    Major class imbalance. Some are able to solo large groups and some are meant to die. There's no real way around it, they're just not balanced. I'd go into details but I feel like everyone here already voiced it enough.

    Different controls for the same characters. Some plants and zombies are direct clones of each other but their controls are different. It's like playing COD but depending which side you're on you're either playing southpaw or standard. It's like whenever you play you need to find your grenade button again.

    Running has such a long lag time. Something around 1.5 seconds between sprinting and being able to do ANYTHING. It's like they promote everyone to be walking targets.
    Using skills sometimes doesn't work. I'm not sure why. I'm guessing you can't use them in quick succession with normal firing, running, other skills, and ???.

    The aim assist is atrocious and will cause you to miss live pvp targets. Some of the aiming seems off. It looks like it's hit scan but does not behave that way. I also suggest turning the aim speed up a lot otherwise you'll have trouble hit anything strafing while aiming or trying to shoot.

    Single Player has specific enemy spawns. There's no randomized events or a living map.

    I don't care there's micro transactions. My problem is that the game isn't fun to play. Which is really disappointing because I like the PvZ series and really enjoyed the previous entries. This game is NOT GW1 or GW2.

    Updated my score to be lower than before because after playing it some more I've come to hate it, the mechanics, the AI, the functionality, and the fact that it sends my ps4 pro's fan into overdrive to the point it crashes if I just stand around town (not abusing any xp gains. Just. Standing.)    … Expand

    Ich habe den ersten Teil geliebt. Keinen anderen Shooter, habe ich so lange, oft und intensiv gespielt wie Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. Den zweiten Teil mochte ich auch, aber hinkte dem Vorgänger etwas nach bei mir. Doch dieser Teil... Es fehlt zu 80% an Musik. Damit fängt es schon an. Im Gartenkommando hätte die durchgängige Musik wirklich dabei sein müssen. Es ist einfach nur nochIch habe den ersten Teil geliebt. Keinen anderen Shooter, habe ich so lange, oft und intensiv gespielt wie Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. Den zweiten Teil mochte ich auch, aber hinkte dem Vorgänger etwas nach bei mir. Doch dieser Teil... Es fehlt zu 80% an Musik. Damit fängt es schon an. Im Gartenkommando hätte die durchgängige Musik wirklich dabei sein müssen. Es ist einfach nur noch langweilig, ohne der genialen Musik der beiden Vorgänger. Die ersten beiden Teile hatten einen enormen Suchtfaktor, wegen den extrem vielen anpassbaren Sammelgegenständen. Gerade die vielen irrwitzigen verschiedenen Charaktere wie der Turboschnapper zb. Und nun... Nichts mehr. Nur noch kosmetische Anpassungen, die lieblos über nen riesigen Kaugummiautomaten rausgerotzt werden... Optisch ist der Teil den anderen weit voraus, auch die neuen Klassen geben was her. Ich hoffe dennoch, es wird nachträglich was verbessert. Keine verschiedenen Schwierigkeitsstufen im Kommendo Modus, selbige haben auch keine direkte Kartenanwahl mehr und nur noch 5 Runden, statt 10. Na gut, bei der kaum vorhandenen Musik, ist es wohl besser so. Da es nur noch 5 Wellen sind, gibt es auch nur noch einmal pro Runde den "Zufallsgenerator für die 5te Welle. Dieser ist leider nicht mehr so gut gemacht, wie noch beim Vorgänger der Fall war. Keine 3 Rollen mehr, die so tun, als ob es Zufall ist was kommt. Es rollt nur noch eine Walze. Ist zwar nur optisch und verkürzt es etwas (darum ging es wohl auch), aber nimmt halt auch etwas von der Atmosphäre weg. Bonuswellen gibt es nach wie vor. Aber halt begrenzt durch die 5 Wellen. Pflanzen oder Bots, werden mit Abklingzeit gesetzt. Gibt weit weniger Auswahl, als noch bei GW2. Dafür muss man sie aber halt nicht mehr sammeln. Selbiges gilt auch für NPCs beim Revierkampf. Man hat sie endlos, aber halt mit Abklingzeit. Bis auf den ersten Standart NPC. Der braucht keine Abklingzeit. So und was passiert nun, wenn man die 5te Welle geschafft hat? Der Bildschirm dunkel kurz ab, es kommt die Zusammenfassung. Fertig. Leider wurde die Flucht rausgenommen und es wird einfach beendet. Sieht bisschen billiger aus, ohne eben dieses Entkommen. Und entweder gibt es das nicht mehr, oder ich finde es einfach nicht. Da ich keine Spieler für den Kommando Modus finde, stehen wir nur zu Zweit drin. Da kann man es auch gleich alleine machen. Doch bisher fand ich nur die Möglichkeit, sich über den Multiplayer anzumelden. Und wenn mN nix findet, dauert es ewig... Somit auch keine Möglichkeit, NPCs zu "beschwören", die die Spieler ersetzen, die es so rar gibt -_-
    Nun gut. Die PvE Zonen sind größer und stimmungsvoller. Sie laden dazu ein, etwas zu sammeln, erkunden und zu Leveln. Ja man levelt und sammelt auch im Multiplayer fleißig, doch zu meinen online Zeiten, werden die 24 Spieler Maps, mit gerade mal 4-6 Leuten besucht. Oder wie gestern passiert: 2 Leute. Einer davon war ich. Im Revierkampf. Es stand da, auf weitere Spieler warten, nur nach 15 Minuten, verlor ich die Lust zu warten. Logge ich bei GW2 zur selben Zeit ein, geht immer sofort was auf und die Maps sind voll. Es mangelt definitiv an Spielern. Also bleibt einem nur das PvE zu manchen Zeiten. Selbst wenn man den Server wechselt, sieht es nicht ganz so rosig aus. Viele Leute die ich seit GW1 kenne, haben nach paar Tagen leider schon die Lust auf das neue Spiel verloren und sind zu GW2 zurück.
    Dennoch. Es macht Spaß. Warum auch immer. Bin heute 2 Stunden im Schwindel Park gewesen und hab als Eichel mit anderen Eicheln nur rumgealbert. Dazu lädt der neue Hub definitiv ein. Das gefällt. Da macht auch das Sammeln von kosmetischen Items wieder mehr Spaß. Man merkt auch, dass die Entwickler viel Liebe ins Spiel gesteckt haben, so detailverliebt, wie einem alles erscheint. Vom Umfang her, ist es bisher aber leider nur eine größere Demo. Ich hoffe, es kommen noch eine Menge Inhalte und Verbesserungen. Der anfängliche Frust hat sich schnell gelegt und nun verfliegt im Spiel die Zeit in nu. Wenn auch nur mit Blödsinn machen :)
    Hoffe, es sind nicht all zu viele Fehler im Text. Schreib vom Smartphone aus und seh den unteren Teil vom Text irgendwie nicht. Also das, was ich grad schreibe -_-

    Terzo TPS della saga Plants vs Zombies che va a sublimare il sistema di gioco congeniato nei precedenti capitoli. Campagna principale vasta e varia,ricca di collezionabili,giocabile sempre anche in coop locale. Multiplayer ben strutturato e bario grazie alla presenza di 20 personaggi disponibili,dieci per parte(piante e zombies). Grafica davvero buona. Grande pecca sono i dialoghi un po'Terzo TPS della saga Plants vs Zombies che va a sublimare il sistema di gioco congeniato nei precedenti capitoli. Campagna principale vasta e varia,ricca di collezionabili,giocabile sempre anche in coop locale.     Happy for a for a new game, but honestly the game sucks, no variants, very boring, have nothing of continuity with Plants vs Zombies warfare 1 and 2, at last the number 2 give you the chance to export all your progress and characters, this one is sucks.

I loved being a lttle pod shooter, hunting down a yeti, fighting a vampire… I loved this campaign.. untili didn’t anymore.. the campaign here feels more like a demo of what could be rather than a full fledged single player campaign, I mean each of the 4 sections main missions can be completed in an hr each.. its really a joke, as after you complete the 5 main quests its really just map cleaning and in game trophy list clearing… but I loved what could be and what should be done in the future.. theres potential with an actual open world dead island rpg like quest system with a dash of some Mario.. there is a great vaiety of character and polish here. So I would love to see the team go all in on something like this, it could be really special… but for what it is now, its repetive boring tower defense stuff once the game exhausts its charm… and then its onto online, capture the flag, team tower defense, hoard mode, and the family friendly version of a call of duty team death match..andfor me personally, the death match is where all of the fun is outside of the first hour of this games campaign,
    youre on team plants or zombies, each chratcer has unique abilities and trates to make no 2 matches the same if you don’t want them to be… and you have even gain experience and level these characters up… but again the charm just evaporates… theres so much character depth here in battle for neighborville, theres so much potential.. theres just no great game to go with the grear mechanics and variety… I say scrap this cod wanna be and become a Mario wanna be.. this 3d world of plants vs zombies has so much potential, and right now its being wasted in the bargain bin… battle for neighborville offers about 4 hours of fun, it has everything in it to be amazing.. but its potential just isn’t fully realized and that breaks my heart.

I've played so many shooters, from the earliest CODs and Battlefields through Fortnite, Splatoon, Overwatch... This, and Garden Warfare 2 are 2 of the best shooters of all time.     Very fun games to play that doesn’t take itself too serious. Not a lot of content but frequent update makes me and my brother keep coming back to play either online battle or the doing quest. though it lack of depth and get repetitive quiet quickly. worth a shot though.

    I know some people didn't like this game, but come on, there's so much possibility by eliminating the subclasses, now we can have more characters than before and it will be more fun!
    And on my own opinion, this game it's very nice and fun! And this is different than the previous games, that makes it better! Because it's not the same thing over and over

    I liked the first GW graphics a bit more and I didn't liked that they removed the variants but overall, great game. everything else is an improvement to it's predecessor in my opinion.

    El juego es bastante divertido si es cierto que secaron las clases de poderes de los personajes y cambiaron el diseño de los personajes pero después de un tiempo te vas acostumbrando y también hay que recordar que esto no es un Garden Warfare 3 si no un juego totalmente nuevo y adictivo

    Garden warfare 1 & 2 were soooo much better. This one was a gigantic downgrade. You no longer get variants of each class, you just get the one static class & that's it. I couldn't even bring myself to play it for more than 30 minutes when I played GW2 for months. This is my biggest disappointment since Dungeon Defenders 2.     This game is literal trash, a BIG step down from GW2. The whole tutorial is clustered and you don't know where to go and what to do. Multiplayer is basically the only good thing in this, and even then if you're not on PC, you have to pay for online subscriptions. Terrible game and costs way too much money for it to be playable.

    I've sank around 30 hours in this game, and I've throughly enjoyed it! I went into it not really playing the previous entries, so I didnt really get to mess with the variants of the characters much, but overall this games systems and visuals are nice. I would say this game is for people looking to just have something dumb fun to play with people online, mainly freinds!     As a fan of pvz ever since launch i have to say this game is nowhere near as good as gw2 or even gw1(in some aspects) . With all this said i'm still having a lot of fun playing this game and really like it. But it surely could have been better.

    I think that overall the game is way worse than 1 and 2 I hate how even though there are more characters the variants are just skins now. I think the singleplayer is ok but still the main part of the game is multi player and they screwed that up heavily mainly like I said there are no variants like in the old games.

    The balancing in this game is really bad, but turf takeover, which had balancing problems in every pvz is imo barely playable, if you want to win, because in some maps the plants have a 90%+ win rate and on the others the zombies have a 90%+ win rate. Leveling    Got this game for free on PS+

    The balancing in this game is really bad, but turf takeover, which had balancing problems in every pvz is imo barely playable, if you want to win, because in some maps the plants have a 90%+ win rate and on the others the zombies have a 90%+ win rate.
    Leveling takes ages, and it´s a star system (every star has 10 levels and, if you are level 10, you have to go back to base and "evolve" your character to the next star. If you gain xp after you reach level 10, the xp you get is not stored and because of that it´s meaningless.
    It has a single player, but it´s boring, way easier with some characters and some of the single player modes are bugged, which makes your game crash or enemies won´t spawn.
    On top of that, there is a bug, got it before I got the platinum (bought TV-head, maybe the new characters are just horrendously programmed), which does not let you connect to EA servers, and the solution is create a new PS account and therefore loose all your progress

    Therefore boring game, grindy, bugged, unbalanced and you can loose all your progress, one of the worst games I´ve played    … Expand

    Este jogo é pior do que o gw2, ele não é tão divertido quanto o gw2, a história desse jogo é horrível os mapas são meio que sem vida é tudo muito escuro, eles tiraram VÁRIOS PERSONAGENS. Que tinham poderes diferentes da mesma classe porém ainda dá para se divertir mas eu recomendo esperar uma promoção porque 100reais nesse jogo não é um número muito atrativo.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The only good thing about this game is the bosses in the campaign are cool and the wizard is a alright character. So this game took away the 2 best parts of the previous to games, the varients and the packs. First, this game took the varients and got rid of them even though they were the best part of both games and all they had to do was copy and paste them and it would be a 6/10 game and don't say they would have to change all of them for art style because Gw2 made a ton of new varients in the first place so that can't be much harder. 2nd is the pack system were you got like 10 items were you use at least 1 thing from them and in this game, you spend 30,000 hard earn coins on some random hat that you'll never use which comparing that to the previous 2 games, a 20,000 coin pack got you like 2 or 3 cosmetics, a few plants/ bots which they got rid of that system and made most of them when you plant them you have to wait a minute or more to plant again which is a weird change but back to my main point, you would also get a part of a sticker of a random character and maybe like a weed plant or zombie plant things which is way more bang for your buck. They also removed bosses from the backyard battleground place which remove the challenge from doing it by yourself and also got rid of doing that last stand were you have to protect the flag. Also, the backyard area is way bigger and more confusing, I mean you walk around doing random things for these small plants for 10 minutes to figure out and go to all the places and I still can't find my way around 20 hours and 2 weeks later. The multiplayer is also terrible considering no one is playing this game and every time I want to play battle arena it's not there for the weekly game mode.
    Overall, this game is garbage and I understand why Popcap and EA abandoned it along with the entire series for now anyways. They hopefully revive the series one day and make a Garden warfare 3 that's good and everyone forgets this exist even more.    … Expand

    Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighbourville is a stellar dive into hero shooter waters for PopCap. With its great level design, great multiplayer and ton of content, it overcomes some of its flaws like lack of campaign and is sure to give tons of hours of PvE and PvP fun.

    While the art, gameplay and music are fine, it feels like EA made a game so exclusively for children that their parents won't want to play it with them, leaving them to be influenced alone. Even if you can tolerate the tone and have the wherewithal to not spend too much money on DLC, Neighborville is fine. It just won't be your best purchase EVAR.
