A fast paced, Free-to-play, Steampunk-Pirate themed Action-MOBA that plays more like a Twin Stick Shooter with vehicles!
Pirates: Treasure Hunters is a great game for casual gamers in general, or for those looking to get into the MOBA genre on consoles. Originally released in Korea, there is plenty of content to look forward to for this unique and well-designed team oriented PS4 release.

A steady stream of experience, and access to vehicles make this game more intense than other MOBAs. Every hit, kill and gold drop gives you boosts in experience. Since there are no items to be purchased in game, Pirates focuses on team strategy, cooperation, character build and skill-based tactics.
From the very beginning of every match, players are sent to defend their team's "Totems" on the battlefield by foot, mini-gun mounted bugggy, or gunboat (yes there is a body of water you can traverse by vehicle, grappling hooks or swimming). Mid-game, a Galleon ship armed with two cannons, room for a crew and captain becomes available and adds an extra measure of risk, reward and strategy to the game.

There are several more unique mechanics and some very nice character models, but I recommend checking the game out yourself. It is free after all!

This MOBA is different than all of them. Fighting opponents starts from the first minute. There is no typical solutions of classic games MOBA. It's just different. Every fan of MOBA games must check this game. Creators bought me a solid 8.

Great game, finally a M.O.B.A focus in the action without minions and shop.
The addition of vehicles, ships and also the pirate's hook make this game unique and really different from the others M.O.B.A.

This is what all MOBA should be. Action, vehicles, steampunk... and PIRATES!!! Perfect mix.
PS4 has gained a great game. I wish it would release on PC, too.

Pirates: Treasure Hunters is fun as a MOBA. It has a very engaging combat system with some really interesting characters. However, I can't help but be disappointed with the lack of content and replayability given even for a free-to-play. I was done with it after only 6 or 7 matches. There is currently only 1 map and 1 game mode.

I also take issue that a few charaters feel underpowered, as well as the vehicle controls. It is FREE though, so you should try it anyway. Just don't expect anything amazing or time-consuming.

I might raise the score to an 8/10 after more content is added to the game.

I enjoyed the bios of characters, very elaborated.

Gameplay is also nice, intense from the start. The accomodation is fast.
For a MOBA this game is a "must try"

At first I thought a MOBA in consoles wouldn't be worthy, but this game is definitely fun and engaging. The MOBA that is not really a MOBA but a third person shooter! This game is awesome for online competition. Fast and very funny, with lots of unique characters to choose. Pirates: Treasure Hunters is a must have definitely. And it's even free to play!

This game functions. It has relatively OK/generic graphics. It has basic gameplay. OK, on to an actual review. But most shooters, such as Battlefield or Garden Warfare does this so much better, with so much more abilities and game types and maps etc, even indies like Enter the Gungeon and Geometry Wars has so much more depth, strategy and longevity. I must commend them for going free to play, but along with pathetic matchmaking and my above complaints,I have a hard time recommending this. Expand

A good fusion between action and type MOBA games. It has very good ideas, such as the need to cooperate with allies and vehicles but the few maps and characters hinder the long term experience.

The lack of content is alarming in Pirates, making great details like the character design going unnoticed and causing boredom after a few games.

It’s still early days for Pirates: Treasure Hunters. Getting off the ground and building a community is hardest stage for any MOBA, but while there’s a number of ways in which it tries to break the mold, a pattern of common missteps overcloud the game’s prospects of a bright future.
