All in all, it’s really in the way that the sum of all of Phoenix Wright’s parts comes together for a campy, thrilling time.

The characters are whacky and wild, the crimes confounding, all in the best ways. However, before you play, a note: it will become habit to yell "Objection!" when you disagree with anything.

Even if you’ve already played the first three Ace Attorney games, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy offers the opportunity to experience all those legal shenanigans on the big screen. And if you’ve never seen Phoenix Wright bluff his way to victory, it’d be criminal to miss out.

Despite a few quibbles that most new players won’t even notice, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is an impressive remastering of three of the greatest adventure games ever made.

Overall, Ace Attorney Trilogy wholeheartedly proves its worth as a remaster. The story still stands up today and balances goofiness and sincerity in a fun and enchanting way. The gameplay is slow but wins over its audience. The graphics are heavily improved from its myriad predecessors, and the music is brought to life in just the right way. Sure, there are some slight slip-ups here and there, but this game is a gem that's worth playing from the pantheon of games, especially those in the visual novel genre. At this time, the defense rests.

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy gives PS4 owners the unique chance to experience the first days of rookie attorney Phoenix Wright, on his path to Justice, via his own Trials and Tribulations. A trilogy of three amazing titles, with 14 well-developed cases and with an amazing cast of characters, is an early Easter gift to fans of good interactive novels. Players who have never experienced an Ace Attorney game within the previous 20 years, are sure to experience great storytelling within an even greater context; still, it might prove to be a chore for players who have experienced themselves with the games, one way or another.

The first games from this beloved franchise are finally available on PlayStation 4 and we couldn't be happier. These games suit the PlayStation 4 well and altogether this package will guarantee hours upon hours of entertainment. All of the cases you'll deal with are very diverse and the charismatic characters will ensure you'll have a blast for a long, long time to come. Definitely recommended.

With the Phoenix Wright games being a visual novel adventure and relatively easy to learn, it is suitable for a wide range of audiences, even for those who have never held a game controller before. The stories only progress when the player comes to the right conclusions, challenging our intellect and powers of deduction. While the cases may not be long, it is exciting, packed with many twists and turns, and brings you mysteries that make it all worth solving. With the release of the trilogy on the PS4, it is a great way for the series to reach more people and a hopeful sign that there will be more coming.

The original three Phoenix Wright finally in HD, with a good remaster ready to be played by both old and new gamers.

A confident revamp of Phoenix Wright's earliest legal adventures, the Ace Attorney Trilogy is a cleverly constructed hybrid of logical conundrums and visual novel beats that combine to make one of the most accessible and gleefully silly puzzlers the PS4 has seen in quite sometime.

It’s got a tonne of fun, engaging content stretched out over its three games, and it’ll quickly be apparent why they garnered such a following on their original release. Not every game can feel so enjoyable decades after the fact, so for this one to do just that is probably a sign that it’s worth checking out.

A must buy. Case closed. There are so many reasons to pick this up. For those who haven't tried the series out, this debut on other consoles add up to a wonderful incentive. It's amazing that even 20 years on, these still hold up. The only thing that lets this collection down is that there is little extra to elevate this remaster, other than just a graphical overhaul. Regardless of this small bump, these remain some of the very best Visual Novels out there and with no end in sight for the series, this glimpse of them arriving on new platforms is very promising.

While more could have been done to spruce things up, what’s here is a superb mix of courtroom tension and outright comedy. [Issue#162, p.97]

If you’ve never had the opportunity to indulge in one of this brand’s prior incarnations, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is a fantastic chance to explore your inner gumshoe. The amount of content delivered in this package will keep you gleefully badgering witnesses, in glorious HD, for far longer than the price would indicate. However, for those considering a second trip into the courtroom, you may want to consider if you hold high definition visuals at a premium.

In high definition the game losses part of his charm, but this trilogy is still one of the best visual novel ever arrived in the west.

A great package that includes the HD versions of the first three games of the Ace Attorney series. If you haven't played any of them or you missed one, its a great opportunity to give a try. On the other hand and if you are a veteran fan, you will enjoy it a lot too, even though it doesn't offer anything new at all.

Phoenix Wright has finally made his debut on a PlayStation console in the form of the Ace Attorney Trilogy, and you'll have absolutely no objections from us. This collection of three brilliant games is well worth the attention of adventure game fans, visual novel aficionados, or budding lawyers. The mind-bending, labyrinthine murder plots are far-fetched but engaging, the writing is consistently pithy and amusing, and the characters you'll meet are charming and unique. It's an open and shut case – Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy rocks.

If the audience is there, then these home console versions of Ace Attorney are very welcome as I have no objection to more Phoenix Wright.

As a remaster or collection, we expected something better, but the quality of the games still is fantastic. If you’re thinking about (re)discovering this excellent trilogy, it’s not a bad option.

If you’ve never experienced them before, then Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is an entertainingly compelling collection of courtroom-based visual novels with excellent writing and colourful characters who help paper over game mechanics that can at times be overly rigid and illogical. However, if you’ve already played these games – perhaps even more than once already – then there’s very little incentive to take this collection into your custody.

There's no denying that breaking down an arrogant witness, and ultimately winning a case in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney feel fantastic. Fitting in the right pieces of evidence to find contradictions is extremely satisfying, I just wish there was more depth, and a little more nuance, to both the witnesses you're breaking down, and the game at large.

But I was just plain wrong (not only for this game but for the genre in general) and all I had to do to learn that this game is a masterpiece was to just play the first 30 minutes. This is all it takes to realize that this game isn't going to make you let it off. In fact, you are going to have an unforgettable time. The cases are brilliant and amazing with tons of humor, thrill and overwhelming twists that will blow your mind. There are two main parts of the game. The invastigations and the trials. The invastigations weren't my favorite parts most of the times but the trials are phenomenal. About the humor trait of this game, there wasn't a time that 5 minutes passed without laughing. It's original, amazing and of the most important traits of this game. There were 3 cases specifically that will always be in my mind since they touch perfection. I was so overwhelmed and mind blows playing these. Not that the others aren't amazing of course, but those 3 are making you empathize and appreciate the characters way more. However, subjectivity is a huge factor in the matter, but trust me, not those 3.There is also another one who made me change opinion about another character completely, and now he one of my favorites. As for the rest characters in general, they are all unique. Some good, some great, some unforgettable, some average, some bad. All personalities are there. I rarely emphasize with characters in games and this one is one of those that made me do just that. The dialogues are incredibly good written and the voice lines used in court are iconic. Also, the soundtrack is just amazing, as well as the incredible sprites and their animations. In conclusion, this game is almost perfect and you definitely should give it a try, even if you don't feel like being into this genre. Full Review »

I'm into thr third game and liekly have had 40 hours of just a great time. It's simple enough to not be a headache and just complicated enough that you need to pay atrention to the details.

The writing is fantastic. The sound and music is phenomenal. The graphics are serviceable to begin with and often have some nice art in rare places. Text upscales to 4k very well and honestly one would have to look within two feet or so to notice that it is not really 4k dispite the scale.

My only critism worth mentioning beside individual critique of certain cases is the options and in particular the skip text option, the normal skip will have you pressing multiple times and often hammering X, the skip box is the box is the best option but you will likely skip pargraphs by accent. There should be a reverse text button at all times as there is with witness testimonies. Other than that some parts of the games can drag but this is only an issue because it is 3 games in one and each game is perfectly sized. Content is never a bad thing.

A really well done port if jist a tad finicky and three great games (As far as I can see with three episodes left). In fact, the games get better as they go on with new mechanics opeing up greater depth. A real gem.
