    Persona 5 has way too much padding and not enough epic moments. It’s a far cry from other epic great rpgs such as Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest. Atlus really dropped the ball. The game drags on way too much and I was forced to drop it.

    I just lost 5 hours of gameplay because there is no autosave feature. What a stupid design choice that is!

    Love Persona 5 Royal alot love the new changes from the Original to Royal well not almost everything except for Okumura Boss Fight in Persona 5 Royal. I attempted this boss fight 20 times & everytime I lose time & get a game over from it makes me feel like crap. Sometimes I ask have ATLUS test played this boss fight? I'm gonna feel bad for other people who get their hands on Royal on other platforms until they get to Okumura Boss Fight wouldn't be surprised if they quit the game. Even if I some how beat the boss fight I might just never wanna replay Persona 5 Royal it ruined the replay experience for me. That's the real reason for the three Stars the game started out perfect but 5th Boss Fight for the palace is when I wanna put the game down IM DONE. On the 20th time playing this I grinded & even level up baton passes, however that didn't work. I'm not gonna buy other ATLUS game after this this is bad step towards your new comers getting into Persona with this move I even played the game on easy since I'm new to the series. Love Persona 5 Royal but don't love the company decisions on this Boss Fight. The only thing that can bring me back is patching this fight which I bet they won't do until everybody complain about it. Hopefully when others get their hands on the game that will happen & get ATLUS to patch this fight to make it fair.… Expand

    The gameplay and graphics were great but just like with vanilla P5, the story and characters are just not it. They feel like a group of kids who don't really care about each other. Not like in P4G where they actually like being with each other. The "plot twists" were so obvious in this game that is was painful.     This game might not be for me. It has longest tutorial I have ever seen. After about 30h the game is still telling me what to do. I dig the high school sim style, making connection to people and organizing my time but then comes the palaces and those goofy opponents and boring fights. It was a nightmare.

There are many issues with the entire "logic" of the game, and the characters in the game itself even comment so, repeatedly.

    But what really gets me isn't the generic J-Rpg style    3 out of 10. I stopped played about 22 hours in, because there is nothing in this game.     But what really gets me isn't the generic J-Rpg style gameplay, that I'm fine with, I enjoy the gameplay, but the story and characters and that your actions almost seem to not matter at all is what bothers me. Ryuji is a delinquent and a bad person, so he spends all his time avoiding his own issues and your character just goes along with him. IRL, this person you drop as fast as possible, but in this game he's your bestie...because the universe told you so. So much of this game is, because the universe told you so.

    The writing is so bad, that I doubt it could pass a highschool class. I know that you need a variety of characters, but they repeat and repeat the same lines, just to fill out time. Very one dimensional with forced choices in gameplay. It reminds me of why highschoolers in real life are terrible to be around, they have no personalities, say the same thing everyday, and can't help their own glaring personal issues. This game is torture. You can skip entire scenes and the plot will not progress at all.

    Who ever wrote this must have made a note to repeat everything 3-4 times just incase the player forgot there are ways to reread every part of the story. Yes, you can REREAD the repeats just incase you have the attention span of a goldfish.    … Expand

Without fail, the dialogue will give me a good night's rest. I am truly thankful to Atlus, Sega, and Naoya Maeda for curing me of my insomnia. I am truly thankful for this game.… Expand

    Play it. Best JRPG ever made and one of the best plottwists I've ever seen. You also don't have to play Persona 5 first. Just play Persona 5 Royal you won't regret it.

    While the work done in the original resulted in a good game, Atlus have been extremely predatory with how they are handling the game. Royal should have been an expansion but they are forcing players to buy the thing at full proce again just for some extra content and QoLs.     É por causa de jogos assim que irei comprar o xbox na próxima geração. Jogo muito entediante, gráficos de ps2, jogabilidade travada e com combate extremamente ruim.

    Persona 5 Royal allows players to experience the story they already love in a new way without losing any of the beauty from the original game. New and old characters get their chance to shine through and steal your heart, even the ones you never expected to. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and maybe you’ll even feel a sense of justice for the infamous Phantom Thieves in the end. But one thing you won’t feel is regret in picking up Persona 5 Royal, as it’s truly the best Persona title, if not one of the best video games, I’ve ever experienced to date.

    This is not more of the same, this is not an optional add-on to the original game. This, my friends, is the perfect experience, down to the last letter, down to the last minute. Persona 5 Royal is a Japanese crown jewel.

    All of the new additions and content mean that Persona 5 Royal is a clear upgrade to the original. New players should seek this version without hesitation, although vets may find starting the game over from scratch to be too big an ask. Either way, there’s no doubt that Persona 5 Royal sits proudly on the throne of Peak Persona… or at least it will until Atlus decides they can do even more with it.
