    As a Persona 5 fan, I love it
    As someone who enjoys beat games I don't
    The main issues being the soundtrack. I think persona 5 has an awesome ost dont get me wrong, but there are maybe six actual songs and everything else is made up of remixes of those six songs.     2. Ultimately though, the lack of rating comes from performance issues. Playing on a PS4 Pro and I still get framerate issues on some parts of specific songs regardless of difficulty and ramping up to the hard difficulties the game starts to chunk when too much is going on.

    3. From a design perspective, it doesn't carry over to a large tv as well as a vita. There's notes on interchanging beats that I have no idea what the timing is because they're staggered. On a smaller vita screen I have no issue, but suddenly it's such a hassle to play on a ps4. Using remote play to play it on a vita seems like a better choice which is unfortunate considering the ps4 version costs more...
    It's a simple game that I enjoyed but I can't tell if I enjoyed it because it is in the Persona universe. Strip out the Persona and I would not be interested in the game anymore.

    Knowing the size of the game, and getting this on PS4, both games could have been released on one disc in one game with a storyline to actually tie them together. Unfortunately they were broken into two less fulfilling games with the business knowledge that fans will buy the games regardless.    … Expand

    This game is billed with the Persona 3 version of the rhythm action game that the P4 introduced a few years back on the Vita. Both games have identical gameplay, of which it could have used a little less going on during the gameplay itself to be really good but its not bad. The P3 version probably had a little bit better selection of music, even if my favorite songs are on this game, but I loved the characters much more in P5 then P3. But that's personal preference. If you're like me, though, you like to go back and visit these worlds occasionally just because of how much fun the original games were, and any excuse to see these characters in a new environment is just really fun. I really wish they would just put all these characters together in one of the main games, at least as a cameo or something eventually though. It seems like the main goal of all these off shoot Persona games is to remind everyone that the whole thing is set in the same universe.… Expand

    It should be noted that someone is exploiting Metacritic's user score. The number of negatives keeps rising gradually and its the same on the page for the other game. They're at the same number and rise at the same incrimates and have been for hours now. Also the negatives for P4D rose by 100+ overnight even though that game is much older than these.

    If this game interests you, it will certainly be worth it... simply because these 2 games are love letters to fans. Fun interactions between characters, beautiful graphics and EXTREMELY good soundtracks. If you aren't interested in Persona... why buy these? I suppose as a music game it still stands up decently well but... it's pretty clear who these games are made for, so as a fan, I'd sayIf this game interests you, it will certainly be worth it... simply because these 2 games are love letters to fans.     This game is embarrassing. While the graphics and animation is beautiful, that’s all I can say for this cash grab. The little amount of free content (it is mostly DLC) I might forgive if the game was free but it is far from it. The gameplay is also not spectacular with brightly coloured moving backgrounds that make it hard to aim and it the notes. And don’t even bother with the VR mode, itThis game is embarrassing.     While the soundtrack is great, that is only because the main series has some of the best video game music of all time. However, most of it is locked behind paywalls.     The gameplay is less than stellar and doesn’t do anything that you can’t find already in another rhythm game. The main selling point of this game is the characters, having many costumes and dances for them. Many of these, however, are also locked behind paywalls.

    Buy, rent, watch an LP, or skip? SKIP. This is literally just listening to music you have heard before, watching character dance around, and playing a run of the mill rhythm game. Even without the paywalls this game would be barely passable, but with them this is a firmly bad game.    … Expand

    Using ATLUS Strategy (copying P3 Dancing In Moonlight review and reusing it):

    This (and P3Dancing In Moonlight) made me very sad, they are the same game as P4 Dancing All Night, there is no new elements, just new songs and characters (dancing in the background), i would even dare to say it is the same engine, just ported to the ps4, i really suggest to get both (with or without P4DAN)    Using ATLUS Strategy (copying P3 Dancing In Moonlight review and reusing it):

Perhaps because of the backlash from P4D being canon Atlus has given up on trying to incorporate a meaningful solo mode in the Persona rhythm games.     I'm not particularly a fan of rhythm games, but as a Persona 5 fan, this game was very fun to play. My only complaint is that there's so many songs in Persona 5 and there's no reason that they shouldn't of been included. 83/100

    Really great fun; unforgettable soundtrack.

    Sad to see that there is no actual storyline like P4 Dancing, but the Social events almost make up for that.

    If you love the characters and their interactions, this game is absolutely perfect for that. They are pretty great rewards for doing the dances. However, a few characters' unlocks are quite a slog to go through. In particular Ryuji's, requiring you to get a large number of combos before being able to watch the cutscenes.

    It is just the P5 cast with but with some fan favorites locked behind a paywall. There are some small character interactions, but some of the dances like the all girls dance that are totally OOC.

    Very fun and enjoyable game that was worth the time platinuming. My only gripe is that it was released too early, it would've been better if it released after P5R. Having Kasumi as a dancer along with the great new tracks that were added in Royal would have been amazing.

    Look, I know most people find this game disappointing, but I had a blast while playing it. The remixes are amazing, the aesthetic is godless and the outfits made for this game are the most stylish thing I ever saw. The choreographies are great, too. The only thing that bothered me, was the fact that only the p5 vanilla ost was present, which is kinda disappointing. I still think that p3dLook, I know most people find this game disappointing, but I had a blast while playing it.     Great Persona 5 dance game, this game style is similar to hatsune miku games but with different button gameplay, this game has lasted me for 3 weeks after i bought it in 2021 since i platinum the game, this one has better graphics than the original Persona 5, better remix soundtracks, I'm satisfied with this game.

    Pretty good rhythm game but there are mostly remixes and not even some of the original songs. Would recommend it to Persona 5 fan but probably wouldn't to someone who's not a Persona fan.

    Honestly what really brings this game down is the soundtrack. The P3D was great 'cause the game already had a style that fit the rhythm game aspect but this was just awful. And we already have these characters in HD on PS4, it brings less new to the table to even get excited about.

    What is to say here? I am not a rhythm game fan though I am a Persona 5 fan, but it turned out that I actually liked the gameplay more than the attempt at a story. If you are looking for a continuation for your journey from the Persona 5 original release or royal, P5 Strikers is what you are looking for.

    The tracklist is robust, offering a smattering of songs, most of them remixed to fit better with the party theme of this game. There is also a genuine feeling of pattern recognition and learning, where looking at the prompts can mess you up. You are better off just listening to the music and letting it guide you.

    Overall pretty meh compared to the other P5 content we have gotten.    … Expand

    i loved persona and i like trying music-based games, so i gave this game a try. i spent a lot of hours playing this game.

    what i like: the songs are nice and i like how they progressively unlock as you play, i like the remixes too.     criticism: in all honesty the game isnt very deep or difficult to develop. on one hand i do like the simplicity but i feel like something is missing from the game. also random rainbow rings pop up and i think they are distracting while you play. my biggest criticism of the game is it does not tell you what are the requirements to get a "stage-clear" or "brilliant" or "perfect". they show your stats at the end but dont show what you needed to do in order to get the graderesult above. i also think the story mode was boring and unecessary... i like that they tried but i dont know, it felt like they did it because they had to rather than they wanted to make a story.

    overall a nice game for persona 5 fans, maybe a bit easy and shallow as a game but personally i was hooked and played this game for hours, it feels like it is easy to pick up and close, when you need to relax for an hour or so. if the actual gameplay screen was cleaner and they were clearer with the result system, this game wouldve gotten a 78/100. i give this game a 73/100.    … Expand

    Putting aside the fact that I find it incredibly weird that Dancing in Moonlight and Dancing in Starlight are being sold as two separate, full-priced games (they’re too similar in concept and execution for it to make sense) it’s neat fanservice for those who wish to spend more time with the Tartarus SEES and Phantom Thieves crew. Ultimately, though, I wish that the devs had tried just a little harder to carve out a new and exciting rhythm game, rather than something that fits squarely into established genre norms and coasts by on the charm of its characters.

    Those who simply love music rhythm games and haven’t got much experience with the Persona series, though, should probably just dip their toes in with Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight to test the water. And maybe wait for it to go on sale before they do so. Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight are both very good, but they don’t quite feel like they’re worth their asking price.
