Overcooked is quite possibly one of the best co-op games that I've had the pleasure of playing, and I'm always searching for that one game that I can play with my girlfriend. Other co-ops tend to have an alpha gamer problem and well, that means I'm usually the problem. Overcooked, on the other hand, distinctly avoids this by gimmicking its levels such that you absolutely must co-operate and co-ordinate if you want to get three stars.

As a result, every player is engaged and constantly communicating, which is a good sign your co-op game is doing its job. Take the basics of something like Diner Dash and throw in the added conundrum of managing resources and logstics, and you have Overcooked. Rather than simply bashing out recipes and delivering them, each level has a sort of twist to it that requires players to overcome, be it simply the layout, things shifting around, or even terrain effects (yes, there are ice levels). Quite simply, you can't succeed at this game on your own.

Even in single player, you must control two chefs and switch between them in order to solve logistics problems. While entertaining to a certain point, juggling the campaign by yourself while controlling two chefs clearly demonstrates that the game needs to have human bodies controlling the individual chefs or nothing really gets done. As the game is designed around couch co-op, it's no wonder single player is frustrating and it's not a hit against the game - you're lucky it's there to begin with.

A bonus of Overcooked is that even if you're short on controllers, you can split each controller into halves, so if you have two controllers, you can get four players into the game. While it can cause a little bit of confusion sharing a single controller between two people, it's a wonderful addition to the game especially considering the price of a Dual Shock 4.

    Great game. Highly recommended.

Overcooked is a cute and challenging co op game when trying to get all 3 stars in the game. There is quite a bit of content too. Overall, the game felt like more of a chore to play though then fun. I ended up beating the game but it was more me pushing myself to completion.

I love Overcooked for its attempt to bring back good old, couch co-op. I've had a bunch of fun hours playing this game alongside my friends. However we would never really get sucked in, we'd do a few rounds of the game and move on to the next thing.

This is probably the main issue I had with the game. The premise, the quality it's all really good but I didn't feel that anything kept me

The single player in particular is frankly, not worth it. I'm glad they thought of this factor at all, but it was not dealt with graciously.

Overall a fun co-op experience, and a nice return to old school co-op, but nothing necessarily groundbreaking.

An extremely fun little game that has an unfortunately short campaign, but with a stellar multiplayer component that is insane and funny at the same time. A must have for family parties

It's been a while since I've had this much fun with a local multiplayer game on current gen consoles or PC.

The real charm with Overcooked is that it's core, it is a functional and simple game that relies on creative level design to challenge its players.

I played the whole game with my girlfriend and we had A BLAST. Overcooked is a PERFECT, casual, co-op game to play with someone.

Playing it solo is not too much fun, though, as you still need to control 2 characters yourself, which becomes a hassle. But having someone to yell and laugh with is just so much fun. I've been missing games like this for a while and do hope the developer

I've been missing games like this for a while and do hope the developer releases an expansion or some DLC with more stages and recipes. This game was worth every cent. If you are looking for a quick, casual, fun, co-op game, I recommend this 100%!

One of, if not the, best local co-op game on the PS4. Gameplay is fast and frantic and makes for a ton of fun with friends. I just wish that there was more content as the campaign is relatively short. In addition, single player is boring, but that's clearly not how the developers intended Overcooked to be played.

It's may be the best coop game I ever played. I downloaded it despite childish design and it delivered. I would compare this game with Agile approach in IT. You play as 2 to 4 cooks and you need to split work and synchronise really well to cook enough food. This game also encourages lean kitchen operations. The game is the easiest with 2 players, tough with 4 and unplayable with 3.

    It's not 10/10 due to 2 reasons:
-It's so challenging and players dependent that at some points it's even stressful.
-It's so much tougher with 4 than it needs to be.

This is a wonderful example of something Team17 is good at create games that you enjoy with friends. Had a blast playing it and I will return fo sure, This game is what PS4 and XboxOne needed to be able to use more than one controllers. Not all games are when played solo and this one is an example of that. It does not make it a bad game at all, but you need friends.

To put it nicely, Overcooked is kind of like a Mario Party Mini Game. But a very good one at that. It’s a cooperative Multi-Player game where you try to work together as chefs. You have different challenges along the way but every “mission” boils down to the same goal. Cook as much food in as little time as you can.

There is actually a decent story that is accompanied by this game as well. There is a “Great Beast” that looks like Meatball Monster but it has an insatiable appetite so you must go back in time to learn how to cook. So as you’re progressing through the story, you’re learning new dishes that you will be able to cook at present to appease the “Great Beast.”

I messed around with the single player aspect of the game. Its the same campaign as the normal campaign that you play with friends but instead you play it alone. It felt do-able but it wasn’t a lot of fun. This is a game where you’re going to want at least one other person. If you could have a team of 4, that would probably be the most fun but also the most chaotic.

I ended up picking this game up for very cheap on PlayStation Network, its hands down the best $5 I spent on a video game. This game is definitely worth picking up for $15-20.

This game is almost perfect! I know the idea is bringing back the remote coop games, and I really appreciate that, however, sometimes, I think It should be better if you have the option to start an online campaign. Or even the other players could join your campaign, as well. After all, the experience is kinda frenetic and enjoying. This game is amazing!

It's not really that fun to me, it makes me stressed and angry. I really wish I'd spent my money on something better. It's just really difficult, I wish they would add more time or something. Also, it really needs online play.

We bought this as a family co-op game that we could play with our 7 & 9 year old kids, and in that respect it's a brilliant game. Very simple to play, and splitting the controllers into two allows 4 player fun without having to fork out (sorry) for extra controllers. It is quite repetitive, but in short bursts as a bit of co-op fun it comes highly recommended.

Overcooked is a game that showcases how smaller, simpler games can still be a blast. It is a perfect game to play with friends, with very easy controls, excellent level design, and super fun gameplay. With a few difficulty spikes here and there, the game is easy to play but difficult to master. All in all, this in one hell of a recipe, and a definite buy for parties.

Overcooked is a chaotic game. The goal is to cook for customers in different areas to satisfy the king onion so that way the apocalypse with food doesn't happen. The reason this game is so fun is because the more players the more chaos due to the fact that you have a timer and you have to rush to make all the customers happy witch is easier said than done due to whenever you come into someone you bump and bounce back. This game has some extra game modes to! Like player vs player where you and your opponent must try and get as many peoples dishes served as possible. In conclusione this game's chaos,i a fun way!Final sentence:don't drop the onion Expand

Overcooked isn't played for the graphics or story, because there's not much to mention in that department. But as a couch co-op experience, it excels at offering very entertaining gameplay. It encourages communication and time management, and even when we failed a level we couldn't help laughing. I felt the controls were sometimes inaccurate, and without a second player this game isn't nearly as enjoyable. Gioco a bassissimo budget.
