OK, I'll start by saying this ... One Piece is my all time favorite anime + I'm a huge fighting games fan
    alright ...
the story mode is REALLY short ( like 4 hours short ) which is why i didn't give it a 10 . and it only covers the Marineford Arc! kinda sad about that . but! the gameplay mechanics are so much FUN! a lot of special moves / combos you can do ( some really sick and hard

and 42 playable characters you can chose from ! and a lot more you can pick for assists and stuff.
there's also the WANTED versus mode , it's a nice add but nothing special here
online mode is amazing , the netcode is actually very good imo ..
over all i really love the game , and if you love fighting games and you love the anime you should get this game ASAP!

One Piece's unyielding charm is represented beautifully in this game (e.g Sanji not being able to hit women, Manga-style character intros, funny team interactions etc), so I'm sure the same way the Anime gained so millions of supporters, this game will too!

Can't wait for Burning Blood 2.

Story - It only has the marineford arc....while storm had several story arcs in its campaign... though the arc is one of the best ones but seemed like It was just picked really randomly... Like comment.... I would have preferred a regular one piece story campaign starting with the first chapters like what pirate warriors did... but that's just me.

Gameplay - Really, really flashy. Controls are really wonky to get used to. But even in the game it dosn't acualy tell you what the actual button prompts are like wtf? it only uses words like "guard" "special" "unique" "jump" "attack" but not like R2 L2 x square, triangle or circle... so you acualy have to figure it out yourself or your going to get your ass handed to you by the AI. The AI might seem hard at first, but its really just a learning curve. The Special Attacks though... are just really nice to watch all the way around, especially the ultimates are just eye candy. But god the combat really does need work, its not as "free flowing" so to speak as the storm games.

Graphics - Art Style With Graphics Lines to make it into an appearance that makes it more true to its manga counterpart.

Character Roster - ??? Its like they picked just a bunch of random ass characters here... or at least the most "popular" ones and just stuck them in here... Like how the hell is don krieg and arlang not playable characters? as well as several others while others like blackbeard and the gladiators from degrossa are???

Music and Sound - They are alright, the whole thing is with japanese and english subtitles.

I could see a Burning Blood 2 but they really need to work on it a lot, it just plays out like an improved version of J Star Victory VS....

In this game, it stays true to the anime/manga and makes all the characters size accurate to the anime. Also, all the character in this game fills unique. None of the character fills like they are a copy of another character. This makes the game more challenging and also forces you to play with different characters.
If you are a One Piece fan and love brawling type game, then you'll definitely love this game. This game is worth the purchase. Even now I still sometimes play this game, it's so much fun.

It doesn't offer much in the story department, or overall content for that matter, the one-on-one combat grew stale and repetitive very quickly (and definitely not in a good way), and I simply just didn't enjoy this game as much as I enjoyed the older games in the series. Not even close. If this is the new direction that they're taking the One Piece game series in, then I've bought my last game of theirs.

There are tons of characters from the One Piece universe to choose from in this game, but that's pretty much the only positive thing I can say about this game. If you're a hardcore fan, trying out the different characters may be enough to keep you entertained, but otherwise the game doesn't offer anything particularly interesting. In my opinion, Burning Blood can best be described as Pirate Warriors, but with less features, less upgrades, no free roaming and massive mobs, a frustratingly boring and unresponsive combat system, and very little effort put into anything else but an upgrade on the graphics from the previous iteration. Then again, you can't really blame them for milking the fans with franchise bias, when a substantial amount of people are actually content with half-assed products like this, that offer far less content than the older games in the same series.

The characters boast mostly from those up to that time (Dressrosa arc). Play the story, which will last around 3 hours at most, depending if you need to grind - since the game does have a small levelling system (PvE relevant, not as much in PvP). The cap is lv10 but the difference is noticeable, as you would hit harder and take less damage.

If you want a full single player experience and a deep story, this game won't provide it to you. You play through Marineford arc in 4 different perspectives and that's it. You can do Wanted posters to level yourself up and earn Beli to buy characters (fighting and support).
Simply said this game is more carried by its gameplay so how does that hold up? The gameplay is weirdly unbalanced. Certain characters can simply break the game in half while others are near useless. Does it mean it's an awful game? Not exactly. It suffers a lot in terms of balancing and the game’s support barely lasted a year, but that’s mostly Bandai Namco’s and the dev team’s responsibility for basically green lighting a half finished product.

Art style is actually not bad. Looks very fitting to the show and characters play as you expect. For example, Whitebeard hits hard but isn’t as fast while Boa is swift and elegant.
To be fair this game has great nods to One Piece as a whole. Luffy for example, is immune to Boas Mero Mero abilities and Sanji is useless against women. There are plenty of nice Easter eggs even in the introduction at the start of the fights. You can get your characters crap talking each other or being happy/mad that they have to team up with each other.
The support characters give you different buffs. Some will give you buffs via manual activation. Others will activate if you reached a certain health threshold, or your opponent’s (e.g. below 50%). Those can help you find your own flow and playstyle and benefit from it more.

It really shows how much potential it had but was likely pushed forward too early. The game will keep you busy and playing against your friends, and it’s definitely is a blast. The tutorial is really off putting but once you get used to it, you should be fine as you will learn how to work around the game.

Either way, objectively speaking, it’s an OK game at best. For a One Piece fan, it’s worth being part of the collection even if you just get a few hours of entertainment. You will appreciate the details they placed in here. So, grab it and preferably, grab a friend and go at it for a bit.
