    Omen of Sorrow takes a little bit of nostalgia like Darkstalkers, but in a serious tone. It's darker in every way (characters, backgrounds, music) and maybe some points are generic but the fun factor is the most important thing in this game. It's too aggresive with a execution of crazy combos, the characters are unique and it has a outstanding artwork. Great game

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved the game in all it's extension. Why the lame qualifications? We bought it at home for my 20 yrs old son and finally all the family started with it as well. Fun for many hours.Awsome character design.Yes it might have some flaws, as many new games do. But The art work is well deserved the 10 we gave. Not for Small kids! At least to my underestanding . Most of all, think of having FUN, I don't think you must address it only to get into competing. It worked very well with our PS4. A great effort from a new company. Kudos.… Expand

    Omen of sorrow ami en lo personal me engancho el juego por su sistema de combos he infinidad de posibilidades para realizar diferentes secuencias con cada personaje, algo parecido a kof con los bold cancel y el modo blessed, se puede jugar casual o muy agresivo, eso fue lo que me atrapo y las retas online sin duda no te hacen despegarte de la pantalla con sus escenarios y su musica deOmen of sorrow ami en lo personal me engancho el juego por su sistema de combos he infinidad de posibilidades para realizar diferentes secuencias con cada personaje, algo parecido a kof con los bold cancel y el modo blessed, se puede jugar casual o muy agresivo, eso fue lo que me atrapo y las retas online sin duda no te hacen despegarte de la pantalla con sus escenarios y su musica de fondo, sin duda un juego de peleas muy diferente a los que estan actualmente y se agradece que no exista el autocombo y combos sencuenciados, aqui lo que se te ocurra puede entrar y eso le da un aire fresco a un juego de pelea nuevo, y en este caso latinoamericano que no esta demas apoyarlo y ver como se desenvuelve esta empresa (aonegames).

    Pero no todo es color de rosa y yo que he probado mucho el juego estos dias incluso con el demo he notado ciertas carencias del juego que me imagino deben solucionar rapidamente si no quieren que el juego agonize y nuevos jugadores que le tenian ganas al juego terminen desechandolo y conformandose con los que hay actualmente, las cosas que note son:

    -modo historia yo sé que en un juego de peleas eso e lo de menos pero pudieron hacer la trama mucho mejor algo que nos atrapara realmente
    -falta de personajes al menos de arranque unos 20 minimo
    -considerables bugs que van saliendo con el pasar de los dias y se que les dan solucion pero son cosas que no deben pasar tan facilmente, yo se que no es facil hacer un juego y estoy consiente de ello.
    -modo online algo que en lo personal me urge que arreglen, hay veces que estan en una partida online y te desconecta pero hasta el final del match y a la otra persona le marca como si el hubiera ganado y ami me lo marca de igual manera, ya revisamos conexiones y nos pasa muy frecuentemente.

    En los lobbys cuando entras a uno hay veces que se traba al darle iniciar pelea y ahi se queda un rato y despues te marca desconexion, vuelves a entrar y te marca error al entrar al online,

    Tambien que en un lobby cuando esten muchas personas ańadan la posibilidad de ver el combate y no estar esperando en el lobby para que acabe el combate, creo yo esto es prioritario, sin duda muchas cosas que mejorar para mejorar la experiencia del usuario, han hecho un gran juego a cuanto a jugabilidad pero que carece de ciertas cosas que hacen que un juego siga vivo como el online por ejemplo, les doy un 8 por que han hecho que me enganche al juego y como dicen ustedes los chilenos cachay asi que atentos aonegames van por buen camino pero atiendan las necesidades del juego, saludos desde Mexico :)    … Expand

    A game definitely entertaining, Gabriel and Caleb my favorite characters, I have enjoyed playing games against other users, offers enough content and game modes to be an indie game and new to the industry.     I'm gonna start out by saying I have a slight bias because Vampire Savior was my favorite game growing up and love horror movies. First, I gotta say I have no idea how people are giving this game a 0. The graphics blew me away. Consider that this indie games has graphics better than KOF14 and MVCI (love both those games personally). Consider that this indie games has graphics better than KOF14 and MVCI (love both those games personally). The art style is one of my favorite things about the game. It reminds me of Nightmare Creatures. I love the stages. They give off a Bloodborne/Classic Horror Movie vibe. The character designs are a good mix of classic with a creative twist. Too many games try to "modernize" werewolves, vampires, etc. I'm glad they went with a traditional look, because they look great with the Unreal engine. Also I gotta mention the music in the game. I actually found myself loving it, and I'm really picky when it comes to game music because I've been spoiled by GGX2. Unlike Guilty Gear though, this isn't metal. I don't even know how to describe it, but it fits perfectly. It's dark, heavy, and it just works. Now on to the most important part of the game. The mechanics. It took a little time figuring things out. The game could use a proper tutorial for people new to fighting games, but anyone familiar with the games should have a basic grasp of things fairly quickly. The game reminds me a lot of KOF, which was a pleasant surprise. You can cancel specials into specials at the risk of depleting your Fortune meter. If you run out of Fortune, you go into a doomed state. The Doomed state seems a little too "Dooming" right now though. It doesn't allow you to use supers, specials, throws, and you get guard broken by some attacks. Personally I think Supers and Guard Break are more than enough to punish the player, adding specials and throws is a little too much. Now on the opposite end of the spectrum is Blessed state. This is where the game really shines. When you're in Blessed state; you can chain your normals, special cancel infinitely until the meter drains (Think KOF13 MAX), go from specials into supers, AND you can use the activation of Blessed like an RC from Guilty Gear/Blazblue. This allows for a whole lot of fun and let's you get pretty creative. You also get a Sigil icon that fills up over time which is the come back mechanic of the game. Unlike a lot of new games though, it's not an instant win. You can use it to remove Doomed state, or to do a super in place of using meter, or to go into Blessed state. This is enough to give you an edge, but isn't over powered, which is refreshing. Personally I'd like to see Doomed get nerfed a little to balance this out by either not lasting as long, or not Dooming you so hard. There are also defensive options like Bold Counter (Dead Angle, Counter Assault, Etc.) And Retreat. With all that combined, I'm interested in seeing how the games Meta develops in the future. Up next is online mode. I've only played a few matches online. The GGPO netcode held up very well. I even played people in Chile (from NJ) and it the connection was shockingly good. Now for those of you new to Fighting Games, this is a niche title. It's not Street Fighter. It didn't have thousands of people playing online at all times. It's more like GG/BB/KOF. So add friends, start lobbies, and fight the good fight. You know the drill. As of writing this the game is on ver.1.0.4. The developers released TWO patches within days of the release to address issues with the game. That's a ridiculous amount of commitment, and is very much appreciated. The game is very fun, and only seems to be getting better and better. Also it has a surprising amount of single player content for the more casual audience or people who just want more backstory for their characters. Personally, I'm loving the game so far. If you like Fighting Games, definitely add it to the collection. Also, if you like horror games, I'd say check it out. Don't be scared off by the people giving the game 0's.
    They may have other issues. Remember , IGN gave GodHand a 3.0 at that game is amazing. Reviews are subjective, and in my opinion the game is worth getting. Cheers.    … Expand

    Eu estou muito animada com esse novo jogo e já era hora de algum outro jogo de luta ser disponibilizado para os fãs desse gênero, ver personagens que apareceram em contos, filmes e animações, foi algo que me chamou bastante atenção; a jogabilidade e a mecânica que trouxeram para esse jogo é bem diferente e acho que vai demorar para nos ajustarmos a esse novo estilo, já que cada personagemEu estou muito animada com esse novo jogo e já era hora de algum outro jogo de luta ser disponibilizado para os fãs desse gênero, ver personagens que apareceram em contos, filmes e animações, foi algo que me chamou bastante atenção; a jogabilidade e a mecânica que trouxeram para esse jogo é bem diferente e acho que vai demorar para nos ajustarmos a esse novo estilo, já que cada personagem parece ter mecânicas exclusivas. E isso é um ponto completamente a favor, outro ponto que me chamou muito a atenção foi o cenário ser muito extenso, dificultando o seu aprisionamento contra a parede e isso é algo que pra mim foi bacana. Eu percebi também que a barra de life muitas vezes retorna fazendo com que a luta dure mais tempo. Eu simplesmente amei o jogo, porém a tela de carregar é um saco, acho que deveriam ajeitar isso, já que demora muito e isso é um pouco frustrante. O cenário tá lindo, porém deveriam ter focado mais nos personagens, ainda que sejam bonitos, mas, se nota que a preocupação foi maior com o cenário. Porém, isso não atrapalha em nada o jogo e os efeitos especiais estão simplesmente incríveis, deixando os especiais memoráveis. Estou ansiosa para a liberação de novos personagens… Expand

The grab-swing acrobatic unpredictability of Quasimodo plays entirely different from the swift rush combos of Caleb, which is entirely different from the matador style bait-dash of Vlad - never mind how the flight of Radegonda changes the arena, or the defensive powerhouse of Adam - I could go on - but each feels unique - which makes the combat mechanics deep - even before you get to the dual economies of the two-resource-gauges. The characters are all likeable - from gothic literature or Halloween - and allow you to finally find out who would win a battle between the Wolfman and the Headless Horseman. The moves feel much easier to pull off smoothly - compared to, say, the tight timing of the combos in Injustice or MK, or the multiple button combinations of a Tekken - so it plays smooth, but with the incredible depth given by the mechanics of each different fighter. Yes, there could be a few touches - more voice-acting in the story mode, perhaps, or a deeper tutorial to make grokking these deep mechanics easier - but this is a small sudio, and the core of the game - the fights - look great, and feel deeper, smoother and more varied than many of their triple A competitors.… Expand

    This is a game that has a fresh feel to it and it's just beginning to show what it has to offer. I really enjoyed the Quasimodo character and noticed a few bugs which were patched almost immediately. Such a response from a team that seems to be small yet agile is a good indicator that the game will get even better in the coming months. Really looking forward to seeing it's true potential!

    I hear some people complaining a lot about things that the fighting community don't care at all. This game was made for hardcore gamers of the fighting genre and pro-gamers who want to compete. While it's true that it has some rough edges, it is what we've been waiting for: ¡New mechanics! ¡Gameplay depth! All that the big names don't have. I support this game and specially since the devsI hear some people complaining a lot about things that the fighting community don't care at all. Character gameplay feels comfortable, and it has improved significantly compared to past demos presented on game events before. In the beginning It's a bit hard to understand the mechanics behind "doomed" and "blessed" that the game offers, but nothingIt's a game with great potential, that's not exempt from downsides. Characters are good and distinctive between one another. No character plays the same way as other, but it's evident there are characters which feel easier to get a hang of. The game has a lot of things to improve, but it's also true that the game has a very humble origin, from a country where the culture of developing videogames is scarse. Considering that, I'm impressed by what has been achieved. For being the very first game produced by AOne Games, I'm quite pleased with the result. Let's just hope that for their next titles, they'll improve upon the problems and mistakes they had this time.… Expand

So, when I heard about Omen of Sorrow, I knew I had to check it out.

    This game was developed by a small team on a small budget, so it is a bit rough compared to other, larger budget fighting games. However, the game still looks great. The backgrounds actually have things going on (ie not static), but it isn't so much that it distracts from the fighting.

    The characters themselves look good. They look like the monsters they're based on, with enough of a twist to make them distinct (I love Quasimodo's mechanical arm).

    On the technical side, this is a team that understands fighting games. They made a point of letting members of the hard-core fighting game community test it out, and it paid off. However, this is definitely a game made for people who play fighting games. The system is it's own beast, and it is recommended to go into training mode (at least until you get the hang of it).

    I only have one major complaint. At the time of this review, one character is incomplete. She's only playable in certain story chapters. Hopefully, this is only a temporary thing, and AOne games has plans to patch her in later.

    Overall, this game in a solid first title from an up-and-coming developer. Yes, it's a bit rough, but they've made something that any fighting game fan should check out.    … Expand

    A pesar de su precio, me gustó mucho el juego, tiene novedosos personajes, buen diseño y animación. Si bien no tiene muchos personajes como otros juegos, por lejos el online supera todas mis expectativas. Me gustaría ver mas personajes (tiene muy pocos) y que sigan balanceando el juego.

    Tuve la oportunidad de probarlo previamente en Festigame 2016 y 2017 pero bajo la presión de que había que pasarle el control a otra persona para que también lo probara, jugarlo ya en casa me ha dado el tiempo para observarlo mejor y según mis recuerdos la mejora del gameplay ha sido demasiada.

    Siempre cuando llega el momento de jugar algo nuevo vas con la mentalidad que la jugabilidad tendrá similitud con algún otro videojuego del mismo género, en este caso me sorprendió el hecho de que cada personaje tiene una fórmula distinta al momento de utilizarlo por lo que hace que la experiencia sea más entretenida ya que se debe aprender prácticamente desde cero con cada personaje que uno selecciona, eso me gusta mucho ya que se transforma en una especie de reto a descubrir la manera de como utilizar a cada uno, eso hace que la experiencia de un videojuego de peleas sea más extensa y no se quede solo en terminar las opciones que el juego te da sino que también me motiva a estudiar a los personajes.
    Y bueno, más allá de aprender a jugar e ir a competir en torneos contra otras personas personalmente me importa más que desde un principio me divierta y la experiencia sea positiva.. en ese aspecto el juego así lo ha sido estos 3 días que lo he probado.

    Mis felicitaciones, esperé mucho tiempo el lanzamiento de este juego y no me ha defraudado para nada!    … Expand

    Being a new IP, that already gets some brownie points: in this day and age where all we get are rehashes and sequels, anyone trying something new deserves some credit.
    The game is good, not perfect. Characters, moves, animations and backgrounds all are of very high quality. Story mode, AI and some other features need some more work.
    Solid effort.

    I'm a big fan of horror movies and fighting games so I was waiting for it since the announcement. It's great to see new IPs being released. Pros: Well designed scenarios like the one in fire -did I mention how long they are?- and compelling game mechanics for any player level. Fortune/Fate system is really a great addition. Fresh characters and great twists of classic horror ones. Cons:I'm a big fan of horror movies and fighting games so I was waiting for it since the announcement.     I personally enjoyed Omen of Sorrow, though sometimes the mobility and generally speaking the "fells" of the game may seem a but odd, it is definitely a minor issue. Plus you cannot expect a KoF or MK, mainly because it is neither of those games. I find the approach that AOne took really enjoyable, and it is indeed the company's first game.     Un gran producto latinoamericano que sube la vara para la región. Con mucho trabajo puesto en el online y con un grupo de gente con un potencial enorme. Realmente feliz por ellos y por como está creciendo el desarrollo en la región. Espero verlo pronto en otras plataformas.

Se deja disfrutar en el modo historia y arcade. Sugerencias: personajes DLC para llegar a los 20, mejora de carga y sobretodo audio en español.     タッチが日本の格ゲーでグラフィックは大米なミックスが新しい感じで面白い。
    バグ修正の対応が早くてありがたい、今後バランスに気を配って良い作品になれば文句ないです。
    このゲームの今後が楽しみです、頑張ってください。

    This is basically an excellent indie fighting game... Its not polished as AAA game, but the gameplay is fast-paced and fun, and the art its breathtaking, recomended!

    nothing wrong with the game at all :) pleasant and unique fighting game with a cool old school horror theme. Caleb is fun as hell to play and there is also a new character coming soon.     This game and the studio behind it and did a great job the character models the stages and the music. It reminds me of Killer Instinct but better graphically. I'm not a huge fan of indie games but I did buy this one out of curiosity and all I have to say is finally somebody made an actual game instead of doing this two-bit weeaboo bullcrap.     Omen of Sorrow tries to deliver a compelling fighting game with multiple characters from horror stories and movies. Unfortunately, the game does not succeed. It has too few characters, is way too easy and it is simply too slow.

    It's great to see a new "contenter" in a category of games occupied by giants. Omen of Sorrow is by no means a perfect game, but what it tries to do it does it right and it paves the way for AOne games to become a major player in the genre.
