Apr 26, 2023If you are looking for another Dead Cells, another indie souls-lite-vania, then you might be disappointed by Nuclear Blaze. If, on the other hand, you are after a fast, fun, 90’s styled action adventure firefighting puzzle game, then you’ll love this game as much as I do.

PLAYSep 17, 2023Packs a wealth of firefighting scenarios into a short runtime, then remixes them for additional challenge. Some control issues aside, it’s a flaming good time. [Issue#28, p.82]

May 3, 2023The gameplay is addictive and innovative, while the controls are simple and tight. Perhaps the game needed a few more tunes, but the pixel art is very well done. There’s no voice-acting, but there’s a little bit of an unconventional story to discover if you’re a fan of mysteries. The only downside is that Nuclear Blaze ends very fast. It’s like a very short SCP novel that you read while commuting. It took me less than two hours to finish it, but I had a lot of fun. Get this if you’re looking for a good platformer.

Apr 28, 2023Nuclear Blaze bets on a simple concept to deliver an intense and surprising experience. It doesn't offer more than a few hours and ends when it seems to be reaching a point of maturity, it's true, but considering the initial proposal and its execution, as well the good looking visuals and soundtrack, it can found a space of affection for enthusiasts of a creative old school platform game.

Apr 26, 2023Nuclear Blaze is an atmospheric firefighting platform puzzler that's interesting enough to keep your attention for the couple of short-ish playthroughs it takes to see everything. There's plenty of fun to be had with it.
-
Apr 26, 2023Nuclear Blaze is a brief, yet, almost therapeutic gameplay experience that doesn’t overstay its welcome, but it did have me wishing for more. Still, I’d much rather feel that than the opposing extreme. You could do much worse if you’re looking for a quaint lunch-long adventure with just a few spooks.

Apr 27, 2023Nuclear Blaze is an enjoyable pixel platformer that gets all the basics right but lacks any meaningful depth to keep you engaged. Its vast array of difficulty options can be praised for making it accessible to all, however its incredibly short runtime makes it a very passable experience.
