No OTP at launch and no time table for co-op game play at all. This is a major disappoint after the years of normally well designed online experiences. Do not buy this game until EA brings back the features that made this game franchise better than all the other sport **** that EA markets.

Point in case about this game, I'm upset at myself for being so ignorant as to not read about the game in its entirety before purchasing. But on the flip side, I just assumed that the core gameplay and modes would remain intact, silly me.

This is going to be short, sweet and blunt. Don't waste your money on this title, it's unfinished! 1) The game is beautiful, and feels and plays

    1) The game is beautiful, and feels and plays better than any other hockey release, but that was to be expected.

That sums it up perfectly. I'm blown away that people are giving this game anything above a 5, which is why I'm balancing it by giving it a 1.

I've been playing, and purchasing NHL games since 1994! Never have been this disappointed in an NHL release. It's shameful, it's robbery, it's unethical, it's a total scam. Full price for a game that's maybe 20% content complete.

Also, why in the HELL should I have to be a Playstatin Plus member to customize my online matchmaking? That's beyond my grasp of reason.

My one complaint about the gameplay is there seems to be no collision detection for the stick of the puck carrier. As the puck carrier you can take your stick with puck attached and bring it right through the sticks, legs, and skates of the opposition like you are constantly doing a magic trick. This is a huge flaw to me and wasn't an issue in 14. If it wasn't for this I would be raving about the new gameplay engine.

Onto the missing modes, 90% of the game modes we know from previous NHL games are gone including what I think was the most fun, EASHL. This is beyond unbelievable to me considering the popularity of the mode. I played EASHL with many guys regularly, and the majority these guys who would always poke fun at me for not playing the new game every year right at midnight are passing on NHL15 altogether. Leaving out EASHL is again, an unbelievable blunder. Be A Pro and Be A GM are there but so stripped down they are unplayable IMO. All of these missing game modes are simply inexcusable, and an indication to me that EA is choosing not to fund the development of the NHL franchise properly.

As a guy has spent thousands of hours playing EA NHL games for years now I must say after this installment I am dying for 2KSports to come back to hockey. It's clear EA doesn't care about producing a quality product, they are simply taking the money of poor fans who have no other choice of a hockey game at this point.

After debate I just have to give this game a 0. Although as I mentioned the overall engine of the game on the next gen systems is much improved and the highlight of this game, even that is flawed to the point of nearly being unplayable with no collision detection for the puck carrier. The game is literally missing 90% of what every fan of this series was expecting to see as far as franchise game modes and features, there is no excuse for that and it's beyond unacceptable. To top it off I recently found EA NHL Forums in which I thought would be a good place to criticize the game and maybe EA could take some feedback and learn for next year. EA treats their forums like Hitler's Germany, deleting every post containing criticism, they even banned me for doing nothing more than saying the truth about what the game is missing! Essentially I view this as them covering up the type of product they have, scamming the unfortunate potential buyers, and refusing to listen to their consumer base. Sad on so many levels...... 2KSports, I beg you to come save us helpless hockey fans! I'll buy 5 copies of NHL2K6, just save me from EA!

Look, the game looks and feels great. I really like the gameplay and I am a fan of online 1 vs 1 so I can luckily get some enjoyment from that, but not everyone is me. There are some people who ONLY play EASHL. There are some who like to just turn it on to play some quick online shootouts. There are some people who like to keep it old school and play season mode. The fact that these modes are excluded is a freaking joke. I myself play about 80% EASHL and 20% 1 vs 1. That means that 80% of my NHL gaming experience has been taken away from me.

There was a game released on PSN a few weeks ago called THE GOLF CLUB. It is a barebones, stripped down version of Tiger Woods golf, in a sense. There are no PGA players, no real courses, no career mode, etc. But the thing is... THEY ONLY CHARGED $35! Half price for half a game. That's realistic. NHL 15 should be half price for this same reason.

I give a 4 because of the graphics and gameplay. It loses 5 or even 6 points for having removed most of the game modes.

Unfortunately it ends there. I bought this game just for HUT and so I am biased upwards in my review since I am not really affected by the content that was not included from previous years. That said I expected HUT to be fixed....and it is the same ol garbage. How do you build a game from the ground up and then just cut and paste last years software again. How is that building from the ground up. What a lie. Here is the scoop, the HUT mode is still fixed to make players feel confused about their players (Tilt is players not playing according to their expected stats) so they change them up and buy more. What is this? Yes momentum and Tilt are built into this game from the ground up. Just played the typical HUT cheesers and yes they can still get away with spamming pokechecks and doing the fairy moves all day long. Want to score a goal you can be anywhere on the ice as long as you move your stick quickly left-right-shoot its a goal. Tilt by far is the worse feature again as it ruins the legit nature of trying to make a team based on stats....throw it out the window if tilt exists the stats mean zero which is the foundation of HUT. If you build a game on stats then add tilt you break every aspect of the game that was intended and thus a score of 2 is fair....ok, on top of that menus for players and adding contracts are not intuitive and a nightmare and tedious. I was also dashboarded in one of my six online games. By my tenth game lost connection to the EA servers. Strategy menus are also terrible to toggle mid game...they are so inaccessible while game play is on...and also you would think after a game it would save the strategies you did change during the last game but no...do it again, every game start....on top of this i could not call a time out when normally id be able to. Again there is added momentum in the dying moments of periods to punish you for dramatic effect only. Again if someone owns a Datsyk your defense will part and make room all by itself. My personal favorite is trying to play the game with the score display in your face. Goal mouth scrambles you have to play through the scoreboard because it doesn't ghost out very well. No wait I change my mind. My favorite is the game disconnects you and when you log back in you find out it was so that they could update you with your daily reward. LOL sweet. Ruin my current online season every day with a randomized disconnection loss. Another favorite of mine is how I already played people with better teams than at the end of last year so the 20000 people playing are pretty much all scammers thats all that is left HUT addicts no normal people to play. Ok so my call is this game looks awesome and the players physics do seem a lot better however the rest of the implemenation negates all these improvements. The game is a huge joke and is only good for an evening to confirm how broken it is. Every untidy feature from previous years has been included-from the ground up. I really enjoy that saying because they remove stuff and put it back and call it ground up. Its comical. Well, to conclude HUT Is still fun on occasion but it is garbage without question all because of tilt and that fake exageration derived from it. One bonus though is they did manage to hinder puck farming by giving reward packs out instead. At least they got one thing correct in time for launch. Its too bad EA cannot build a game anywhere past mostly acceptable I guess having money on the brain does that....and to think I'm biased upward in my review because I never played the other modes not incuded this year Expand

I don't know if EA decided to massively under fund EA Canada or whatever the reason for this failure of a game is, but they screwed up.

The puck bounces randomly, but not overly so, I was afraid that 1 out of every 10 dump ins was going to deflect to the middle of the ice, but thankfully that is not the case. Collision detection however seems to be worse. A lot of times I see a stick going through someones body.
They overdid the "jersey wiggling". Just because you can add something doesn't mean you should and although it is cool it is pretty annoying and watch a game, real players jerseys move, but they don't constantly wiggle back and forth.
The massive amount of missing content is awful and EA should be shamed for not being up front about this. It's not a situation where they just ran out of time, they knew this was going to be bad months ago and decided not to tell anyone, but keep the price sticker the same. The game modes that are present are incomplete and this is a massive step back.
I bought nhl 99 when it was released for $30. The game for it's features seemed alright and I played a lot of it. For roughly the same features as the game they released 15 years ago, with updated graphics they are charging $70. This is a complete ripoff and I can only hope that this influences 2K to get back into NHL games, EA has suddenly created quite a large market for solid competition.

Flash forward to the present and we as fans received half a game that the developers were supposed to have worked on for 2 years. I have come to find out that they did not actually work on the game for 2 years and did not start until the completion of NHL 14. I find this unacceptable. If this game had came out last year for the PS4 and was missing all the modes it would have been understandable. But to postpone the release and still not deliver even half the product everyone has come to expect cannot be forgiven.

I will also say I have not bought the game. But have spent countless hours over the past day playing on a friends copy and I will not be buying my own copy for the first time as I said since 94. I also will not be buying a copy for PS3 because I do not want to give EA my money when they screwed up the version I truly wanted.

First things first, I bought this game for only 10 bucks, and I still feel that I didn’t get my money’s worth. I bought this for the PlayStation 4 (so excitingly waiting NEXT GEN HOCKEY!!), but soon found out the only upside is that the base of the game is a good starting point….. that’s it. Meaning, the graphics are an improvement, the physics (while being unbelievable at times) are better, that’s it. It’s just a tech demo, with the ability to do a few things here and there (if they actually work) and change the teams. WOOHOO!!

My goodness this is the most incomplete NHL they’ve ever pushed on us. That’s pretty bad considering NHL 07 was very similar; being that it was the first NHL game on the next gen console (Xbox to Xbox 360) that was stripped down completely for next gen purposes to show off what it can look like, so I guess I understand that’s probably what’s happening here. We now have the technology to push modes and updates to the console digitally, blah, blah, blah, is what EA keeps giving us. If you can’t give us a finished game, why release it? I know why, are ready for it?....... MONEY!!!! It’s pretty funny how one of the only modes thrown in and had time put into it is HUT, a game mode that is a micro-transaction, pay to win, money sucker. No wonder EA is voted worst company year after year in North America.

Look, I love hockey with all my heart, and I buy every years addition (the only sports game I do so for) to play with friends via online shootouts, just standard versus, and EAHSL, but none of that is there. I stopped playing primarily offline years ago. I fell in love with only creating my player, turning him into this RPG style leveling up quest, which gave it so much more replay value to me. ANYWAY here’s a list of my opinion of PRO’s to CON’s.

    PRO’s:
Graphics (but that should be expected on next gen)
Solid core they can build up from (I mean there sure as heck nothing else there)
    And it’s hockey I guess….

    CON’s:
    Hardly any games modes
Same sticks, faces, character design, equipment, goalie helmets that they’ve had for 10 years it seems. Really? Come on.
GLITCHES, my goodness, pucks wrapping around the boards for goals, players getting stuck on bench, humping the boards, getting lagged out of online matches resulting in a loss. Created a goalie Be a Pro, and couldn’t even see the pads he was wearing because it showed him as a skater…
Borderline retarded A.I. at least when they are on your team.
Online is clearly connection biased. One game I can destroy the play (I’m fairly good at the game), the next the other player is un-hittable, un-pokecheckable, A.I. plays the body and puck perfectly, passing for them is amazing and the other player skates around like Forsberg in his prime on crack.

In the end it's just an incomplete game, but hey you can see the hot-dog vender in the 140 section! WHO CARES?!

It is a horrible step into the next gen world for the NHL series and one that has not come without anger from the NHL gaming community. EA left many of the fans out in the dark in terms of what would be included and what would not be included. The backlash from fans has caused an uproar that has not been present in a EA sports game in quite some time. The same quality and detail that was put into previous games has not been applied to this one and it is a huge let down. With an updated gameplay and physics that has once again been promised, the game has taken the right direction in terms of gameplay and presentation. A new overhaul for the commentators has been something that has been asked about for years and EA delivered. The gameplay on the next gen feels smoother and more realistic. If you are a fan of the game and play offline only, and you wont miss the many other offline modes or lack of detail, this game is for you.

Unfortunately as the new consoles have so much more ability to carry the online experience to new levels, EA took that out of the equation. Online team play which is heavily used on the NHL game is missing and will be patched in some time in October. EASHL which for those who missed it was so talked about it had a 200+ page thread and over 200,000 views getting EA to give answers was left out of the game with no intention of putting it in. This mode is one of the main reasons a casual gamer plays the game. The ability to create your own team, own player, customize the team and player as well as play with friends whether it is 2V2 or all the way to 6V6 is now gone. Online games, especially sports games bring fans together and allow for games like NHL to flourish in an ever growing online gaming world.

Without two of the biggest online modes in the game, along with a ton of other missing modes and features, this game comes out to a 3 out of 10. I urge you to go to the forums for NHL and read so many other passionate fans of this game and how they feel. I cannot express fully how disappointed I am as well as let down that EA botched a game, especially with the fact that the NHL is continuing to grow. This is a big step back in the series and will have fans, consumers and even EA shareholders alike all wondering what really happened over the course of a year and how this outcome actually happened.

Because charging $70 CDN for a half (at best) completed game is a robbery. Because no company, and especially one that is so well established, should feel the need to release the game that is basically alpha/beta and sell it as a full release. The Graphics are looking very nice but we seemed to have suffered so much because of them as we learned that Good Graphics are meaning less if game play and the futures we want are not there. PS4/Xbox1 versions are missing a lot of content that is in the 360/ps3 around online play.

One of the biggest glaring omissions the lack of players allowed within an online match.
The AI will dump the Puck into the net on itself.
Pratice is limited at one on Goalie.

If you only care about playing an offline standard hockey game, without much of anything else this NHL 15 will meet that, but truth be told if you want a robust online game experience, WAIT and skip Ps4/Xbox1 versions until next year altogether.

    Visual Presentation 8/10:
From a pure graphics standpoint, the game looks great. The arenas look really detailed for the most part and the players look great. With a leap in technology from the PS3 to the PS4, this was to be expected. What wasn't expected however was the lack of cleanliness in the menu screens you use to select your game mode. It's a far cry from the previous simple-to-use menu options found in previous NHLs.

    Sound 7/10:
Overall, the sound from the game is good, but not great. The goal horns from the games i've played have sounded authetic, however there is work going around that some horns are non- existant or completely different than the official goal horns. If that is the case, it's an inexcusable omission as the sound capture for these horns involves little work. The sound quality of the announcers though are very good. The sound track of the game is very weak which hits the score hard. Last year's NHL didn't have a high number of sound tracks, but worked better with the game. Whereas this version's soundtrack puts you to sleep. Very disappointing.

    Depth 5/10:
And that's being generous. Everyone knows by now the amount of game modes missing, so I won't list them. I personally really enjoyed Be a Pro in previous NHLs, and the inability to sim to your next shift is puzzling considering how much time is added to each game. Additionally, you can't start out in the minors and build your player up which then makes the Be a Pro mode even less appealing. HUT is still there (becuz EA and $$$) and standard online play is still there, but the volume of modes missing is head- scratching to say the least.

    Overall 6/10:

I bought this game as more of a social thing. I play against friends who have moved far away which allows time to catchup with them. Because of that, I knew what I was getting and it satisfied my needs for the most part. However, demanding full- price for a game with half the game options is concerning. Let's hope NHL16 has all the modes back, or else EA will lose even more hockey fans than they have this time around.

I think once the game stops coming out for last gen we will see the true glory of NHL. As for now it is still the best hockey game ever made. Expand

NHL 15 is a good sports title for me. I'm not a hardcore sports sim player. I only ask for the basic features, good a.i. , quality graphics and multiplayer modes. This game gives me all of those, plus I find it quite fun just to play in the gameplay department. Don't take my positive view of the game to mean the haters might be wrong, I don't know. I suppose hardcore sim guys want more features but if you are like me, a casual fan of the NHL and you don't buy the game each year, give this game a try. The graphics, gameplay and fun you can have with friends are all good and present..

I understand that people are upset with the lack of features and they don't think EA should put out an unfinished game BUT if they put out NHL15 after hockey season starts, those same people would be crying and saying, they should have just put it out and then updated with patches so we could have it to play when hockey season starts. On the flip side, if they put out a game where the game play was poor but had a ton of features, you would still be crying. Fact is, it's easier to patch in the modes than patch in better core mechanics. I'm disappointed at the lack of content as well but i'm glad they put their focus on the core rather than the features. So take the solid game play and graphics until they patch in the modes.

IMO this is the best version of NHL to date. You people are to fussy, the game is great fun to play.

I seldom played EASHL but it does suck that it's missing. HUT is in tact and it's a good time, but it's difficult to start. If you can persist, you'll be fine. Be a Pro lacks "skip to next shift" but you have the option of changing the lines (as a defenseman at least, I can press square on the PS4 version and change myself with the LD). It's fun. I'm having a blast.

There is a lot missing but if you can find a way to enjoy what is offered, then you have a decent game to play. And if you want to play EASHL or GM Connected mode, then go for the PS3/360 version of the game. The groundwork is laid for next year, gents, and we'll have a hell of a game then.

Good luck to your teams this coming year. GO ISLANDERS.

An honest review of the game would have to notice the game play is phenomenal. Yes, the game is missing a bunch of features that it has had for years. Yes the one they managed to get in is the money grubbing Ultimate team. I am not saying that things aren't a little shady in that area ,but they have still delivered a game worth playing.

Breaking it down into features, game play, audio, visuals and longevity would give a much better score.

Features definitely bring it down. In this category EA has certainly dropped the ball. I believe they delivered an embarrassing product when you look at this one category. With the time they had to work on this game, It should not have so many missing features that are in the previous generations version. Its inexcusable. If its not ready, don't release it. Did MLB 14 The show his store shelves with its PS3 cousin? No.. They took another month to make sure the game had all the features and was ready to go. EA could have easily delayed this another month or more and it would have still sold like hot cakes.. If you love hockey, you will buy it whenever it comes out cause you really want it.. Simple. So for this category, seeing as they left out over half of the features they had last year, they get a 1 out of 10. Even the features they did give us had something missing from them.. Significant things.

Game play is another story. Sports games will never be perfect, you can't simulate human emotion and behaviour perfectly. As long as its a game played by humans, we will never get it exactly perfect. In saying that however, this game is a blast to play. On the ice, I'm loving this game. Sure, there are still idiotic frustrating things that happen that make you wanna throw your controller through the screen of your $1000 TV, but overall its impresses far far more than it frustrates. The puck reacts nicely, They players seem to move much more true to life, even if they have psychic abilities to know exactly when you are about to hit them and they skate around you every time... In this department, taking into account the last few years I give the game play a 9 out of 10.

The audio is a tricky one. I do love the new commentary team. I think they under use the color man but for a first effort out, They did a good job. At times they seem to lack emotion, and even fall behind the play just a little but its no where near as bad as the Demo made me think it was going to be.. I love listening to Doc Emmerick in real life and hes done a good job for the game. Eddie O seems a little stale at times but often its exactly as it should be. Little comment here or there of relevance and back to Emmerick. Ray Ferraro is awesome as the rink side guy.. He sounds just like he does on TV.. Same emotion and delivery. Excellent job done by Ray Ferraro. The rink sounds are just as good as ever. Clean crisp and right on tune with a hockey game. The arenas come to life with excitement when they should and go quite the same way.. I love the audio in this considering it was a first effort for a new announce team.. I give the audio an 8 out of 10

Visuals are spectacular. If you don't think, then you are an entitled little punk who's mommy and daddy have failed them. This game is beautiful. The rinks look amazing, The crowd is diverse and into whats going on. The players look awesome. The ice degrades, The sharpness of next gen really is astonishing. With the collision physics you would expect a lot of awkward looking mistakes, but you don't see them as often as you would think. Visually this game is stunning. I give the visuals a 9 out of 10

Longevity is a tough one. Perhaps it can't really be graded accurately at the moment because they have promised to add some features in as they go. Now I don't think whole game modes will be put back in. That would be naive to think they would do that. But replacing certain features that should have been in at release will help. For me personally, I just love to play the game. I don't use the online modes much. I guess I'm not a 2014 gamer who has to be connected with my friends all the time.I do get there is a whole pile of people though that need the online part to stay interested. So its tough to really grade this. For me its got longevity cause I will play it as long as its hockey season.. Game by game or GM mode, whatever. So for me its got what it needs to last. The game play is good enough to make me wanna keep playing.. For others though I would say it has very little. If you don't play the game because you like the game but only like playing it with friends, you will lose interest fast.. so I give this two scores. single player 7 out of 10. Multiplayer 3 out of 10.

There's nothing more frustrating then trying to centre a pass only to have the game lag right at the moment you're passing thus leaving you hitting both pass and pressing up to shoot and completely missing a golden opportunity to score.

The net-code, or servers, or probably both stink. The lag issues only happen for me with this game. It's not worth $5 let alone $69. Hopefully 2K brings back NHL and even if their game sucks they will get my money. I'm also buying PES over Fifa 15 for the same reason. EA needs to die.

My review is about Be A Pro, not on-line play.

This game is a couple of steps back. Many of the features we enjoyed in previous versions were not implemented. The announcers might as well just be on a loop, as most of the time they repeat the exact same thing and usually at times when it makes no sense.

There are a number of bugs, such as:
    1. If you get a minor penalty, but the AI opponent scores within a few seconds after, you may end up sitting in the penalty box for the remainder of the game. When looking at the box score, it will say you are a minor for xxxx (2 minute penalty), but the game will not show the power play clock and you will be stuck. (this is purely an error, as I am not referring to a game misconduct).

    2. Sometimes an AI player will be making the skating motion, but will not move. This usually goes away once the whistle is blown.

    3. If you are in the penalty box, and the opponent AI has the puck in their end, they may just stop moving, as your team's AI has offset their movement. Will start back up once your penalty is over and you move in.

There are many other issues, some of which were also in the previous versions, so will not go into them here..

This is a max a $10 title going for $60 still....

The Multiplayer is **** I really can't say much more about it, it is set in a way where you can not fix options in the game even if you're playing a friendly with a friend. The diffuciity EA has it set to, if you're not used to it, is very difficult. I play on Pro, and I was having so many issues with passing due to the fact that it was set to All Star and on the Hardcore Simulation sliders.

Other than that, this game is pretty good, with a few more minor hiccups that I won't get into. The graphics are very good, the gameplay is pretty top notch, and the game is fun to play. The checking is fun, the passing is good (not in multiplayer), and the scoring is satisfying. The game is also littered with bugs. For example, Ray Ferraro, who is annoying at the best of times, will often repeat the same bloody line over and over again at every stop in play. It's enough to make you break your TV. Some of the lines spit out by Mike Emrick and Eddie O are ridiculous. Expand

Possibly the stupidest thing I've ever seen in a game. That means Chicago & LA have over 10 million in NEGATIVE CAP space that just magically disappears by lowering their player salaries. WTF?!?!?! Tried "hiding" star players in their minor teams, so that they'd have to make a trade or buyouts to use them, but the players just disappear. They're not in the minors or free agency.

Sure I want to play with the CAP on, sure lets "fix" those CAP issues before we start. Oh wait, by fix you mean let the over CAP teams basically redo all their contracts??? Well that's super. Makes me want to be LA.

P.S. I did actually like the game play at first, but Pro difficulty became a joke & All-Star makes my goalie a sieve for pucks. 40 shots against 8 and they're winning 5 to 2... And yes, those AI shots were good shots, b/c it's all they seem to take, but so were about 20 of mine.

The mode resets at will, has horrid AI if a player drops out, and at times can't even be completed. EA didn't just drop the ball, they slashed with with a butcher knife and kicked it into a bottomless pit....HUT is it's only saving grace but the constant updates to make it "better" seem to only cause more problems.
I love hockey, NHL 14 was a fave game of mine, I feel that with NHL 15 EA stole my money and gave me HALF a game to play....

Great game. Initial rough start due to a couple additions that came in a patch leading to some poorer reviews (or people reviewed while the game was still downloading and you're limited to one game mode while it does). The graphics are good, but there are too many bugs especially at the goalkeeper. When you play against the computer on Rookie than its too easy, but if you play on Pro its too hard. When you like Hockey you can like this game and you can have fun.

For an unknown reason, EA Sports left many important game modes out of NHL 15. Even though the first game of the NHL series to be released for the new generation has realistic graphics and physics, we can't simply ignore that NHL 15 feels more like a demo of a game that may only be released next year.

This game is worth MAYBE 20 dollars... Most of the game modes are completely gone from the next gen versions. Not only that but the AI in the game is so brutally bad that it's not even funny.. So many times where i would pass the puck in the direction of an AI controlled character and it go in the exact opposite direction than where the puck was.. The AI is absolutely clueless when it comes to team mates at least. As far as the difficulty modes, there is no happy medium.. Pro had me yelling at game where rookie is just too easy. Also included of course is your bugs where a player just skates constantly into the boards and doesn't move in any other direction and the HORRIBLE penalty calls.. especially on goalie interference. This game was a disgrace for EA to even put on the market.. Where the previous gen versions are just total copy and pastes of everything from nhl 14 with the exception of rosters. I gave this game a solid 1 out of 10 and the only reason it got that good of a score is cause the graphics look great.. Other than that.. Brutally butchered and horrid hockey game and made me lose total faith in EA and this hockey franchise. Get your **** together EA and stop putting out games that are NOT done. Do NOOOTTTT buy this game! Expand

Yes the game is lacking content, they have patched and added some of the missing features, but perhaps not enough for some. However, gameplay is the best it's been in the series. The puck is alive and bounces realistic, the skill stick has been reworked, which does take some getting used to, but I think is an improvement. Passing feel better and shots feel heavier. The bad is simple. We wanted EASHL and didn't get it. I also wanted GM Connected. It''s a major downer. The GM mode has always been my complaint about these games however. It's far too easy to make trades, there's very little depth, the rating system isn't very well done and the simming takes ages. Add that with the horrible menus and what you got is a great hockey game that only earns you a 6. Hardcores will love it.

Incredibly unrealistic. Just about the only thing they got right is the physics and graphics. Scoring is almost entirely luck. Cross ice one-timers don't go in, lazy backhanders do. It's almost impossible to bodycheck anybody who doesn't skate right into it, AI doesn't attempt to get loose pucks. Slapping the puck away is a much better option than collecting a loose puck on defense because you'll immediately get stick-checked and have it stolen. AI doesn't understand what off-sides is the way they skate as fast as they can into the offensive zone without the puck. HUT is addicting but honestly the best part about this entire game is collecting the cards. The added be a GM feature is laughable. If you want to run a hockey team play Franchise Hockey Manager. I'm very very sad that I spent $60 on this game, and then another 30 on HUT card packs. Expand

This is what happens without any real competition. EA sports re-gifts a **** updated present, with better graphics and actually takes away some of the games most popular game modes. EA sports can S my D tbh. That being said, I love hockey and I love online team play and have buddies that I play with so of course if that feature is on NHL 16 I will probably hate-buy the game
